neh. some aspects are okay. ive had my eyebrow,septum, and bellybutton done by steve. during the consultation for my eyebrow he was complaining about how people keep asking him to mive placement, which i get can be annoying i dont think that was very unprofessional, after he said this i got scared and just when with a shitry placement. with my septum, i get its a "blind peircing" yet its kinda crooked, its not his fault just felt like i should share. now my bellybutton is where it went bad. first of all, i am a bit of a chubber person so doing some research before hand i found out i needed a "floating navel" if some people dont know what it is, thats so the bottom part of the barbell is flat so when you sit down and if your stomach rolls over, the bottom part of the jewelry isnt crushed. i dont even know if steve has floating navel jewelry.. so i have the regular belly rings, its irritated obviously.. but the ball is screwed on SO tight its insane. my best friend had hers done by steve and she had to use INDUSTRIAL pliers to get hers out. around summer i got a HUGE piercing bump on the left side, i didnt know what to do and i just wanted help from my piercer. i called and it was just PURE attitude and sas. he basically blamed me for the while thing and then got mad when i asked for help with VERY vague answers. its very weird how he wont let you record the peircing itself. the vibe itself is just off. he said he wont let people record because he "doesn't want people telling him how to do his job" huh? overall would NOT recommend. read more

super disappointed & pissed. i came here to get my belly button pierced around a week ago and immediately caught a few red flags. steve very briefly showed me the jewelry he was going to use, and did not mention that it was externally threaded. he did not ask me to check the placement of my piercing -- it ended up being off center and far too high. he charged me $65, which i didn't find to be unfair, but i'm a little upset about considering how poorly this has all gone. today, upon waking up, i realized that the lower jewel on the bar was embedded in my skin. i scheduled an appointment with a shop in roseville -- raven's mark body art collective, where everyone was so kind and professional. i'll be going back there to get my belly button repierced if and when my current piercing heals -- to have the bar switched out for longer jewelry, but unfortunately, once i arrived, they said it should be removed altogether. they were shocked that steve had pierced my navel so deep, off center, and poorly. they told me with the way the jewelry had embedded into my skin, it's a good thing i'd come in when i did, or my skin would have swallowed the piercing and landed me in the hospital. they were also shocked that he had used externally threaded jewelry, and said that any piercer who still uses it likely doesn't know wtf they're doing. my skin is super irritated and the trauma on my stomach from steve's piercing is pretty intense. overall, it just really sucks that it came out so poorly. steve was nice but completely unprofessional and he really messed up my navel. read more

Got my tongue done here and did a great job on it, so thought I'd get my nose nostril done, but Put in too short of corkscrew nose piercing making the gem actually sink into my nose and started getting covered over with skin. I Had to go to Urgent Care to get it surgically removed! read more

I have gone to Steve for a couple of my piercings. I got my tongue and my lip pierced and they turned out great. One year ago though, I got my first holes on my ears done by him and needless to say I was pissed. First of all, my ears were pierced crookedly, one bleeding very badly down my neck and wouldn't stop, I am pretty sure he went through a vein or something. This was super frustrating by this point. Then I was very shocked and angry at the fact he had charged me $80 for my ears being CROOKED!!! Wtf. To top it off, I went back months later because my ears would not heal, and he REFUSED to help me unless I paid him extra. He said pretty much to deal with it and I can repay him to pierce it again. Steve would not admit guilt and is very unprofessional at his business. He is not someone who should be owning a business because this man is clearly uneducated on piercings and tattoos based on other reviews. I am so happy I didn't go to Steve for my first tattoo. Very unhappy person and he lost a worthy customer. I hope others read my review and think twice before going to Auburn Tattoo. read more

DO NOT GO HERE FOR PIERCINGS!!! The jewelry is cheap and the piercer is incompetent.... I got my belly pierced a couple of years ago and the dude wouldn't let my friend watch me get pierced and his reasoning why is because "I don't want people to tell me how to do my work", I should have saw that as a red flag. I should have left immediately but I was young and uneducated. I got the piercing and this cheap CHEAPP jewelry for it to heal properly, which did not happen... the top ball of the piercing fell out I ended up going to another piercing shop where they told me that the jewelry was cheap and externally threaded... DO NOT GO HERE FOR PIERCINGS. I went with a friend yesterday to get her nipple piercings REMOVED because Steve did them completely incorrect. Here is what he did wrong: -he pierced her areola NOT nipple -he used a gauge size that is too small for the proper healing of a nipple piercing (used 16g but you are not suppose to use jewelry smaller than a 14g) -he used externally threaded jewelry (cheaper than internally threaded) although it is well known that this causes irritation to the tender nipples as the jewelry is inserted She also went back a week after the piercings were done because it looked like the swelling might cause the jewelry to be sucked into her nipples... but he ensured her they were healing fine and did not give her a larger bars. Well the small bar DID get sucked into her nipple, so we rushed to a second piercing/tattoo shop in Sacramento to get larger bars. They were shocked at how poorly the piercings were done and informed us of what was done wrong, then removed them for free. After we got home I did a quick google search and easily found all of the standard practices for getting your nipples pierced... which was not done on my friend. The fact that Steve is piercing people against standard practices that one can find on google is completely unsafe and concerning. Do not go here. read more

Absolute waste of time, made an appointment for a Friday evening, showed up for the appointment, and the shop was closed and locked, despite the fact that the appointment time (which we we there at) was well within the posted hours. Tried calling the shop and got a machine, knocked at the door, and waited a half hour, still no one there. Ended up leaving without getting a tattoo, or any indication of where the owner was. Find a different place to get a tattoo, this place can't keep appointments, and you WON'T get a tattoo. read more

These guys did a tattoo for my best friend and I for my birthday last year. She ended up having her tattoo that steve had done covered up 3 months later because it was so SO bad. he charged her 180$ for some really bad dandelions that looked like her kids drew it. He charged me the same for my birthday tattoo that should not have cost more than 80$. The yellow in my tattoo is completely faded out and It has never been exposed to sun. I have been calling for over a week and nobody has returned my calls, so I dont recommend coming here unless you are cool with paying for mediocre work. I dont mind paying for a good tattoo Im not cheap like that, but I dont like paying almost 200$ for something that I could get done for 80$. read more

Not a place to get piercings. Sister and I came here a while back to get our bellybuttons pierced. They were crooked but didn't think much of it. Recently came back to get a nose piercing. An employee, not owner, was Shakey, and pierced before showing the location... The piercing was not symmetrical to the existing one on the opposite nostral. My wedding dress was strapless and floor length and i wanted a fake tattoo on my back that was similar for the big day. he agreed and set an appointment to to do a fake one on my back.
