I have been following Myke Figueroa's work at Wild Bill's for many years. Most of my tattoos have been done at Wild Bill's because I have seen and had quality work done here. My last two visits, Myke spent time doing a masterpiece I had envisioned. I was excited to allow Myke to do the vision I had in honor of my late father. Wild Bill's is located upstairs on Vernon Street. When you walk in, there is a waiting area with beautiful plants everywhere... I need a clipping, Bill!!! Maybe a few!!! After signing a waiver and showing your i.d., Myke brought me back, and he started designing my tattoo. After he got the artwork done, he got the ink and tattoo gun ready at his sterile station, gloved up, and started in. It felt great! I spent hours with him on my first session, and he was absolutely fun to talk to. I was comfortable with my feet up on a stool and very relaxed. Bill was there, and he was also fun to talk to! Everyone working there had a really great vibe! For my second session, Myke finished my tattoo! I feel like he went easy on me. He knew the spots where it would be sensitive, so he did periodically ask how I was doing. He wiped it down and wrapped it with clear adhesive bandages. He gave me the rundown directions on "how to take care of your tattoo while it's healing." He also gave me a card with directions for tattoo care in case I forgot. There was never a dull moment at Wild Bill's! I love seeing Bill's vacation pictures and still would love to know YOUR SECRET VACATION SPOT (but dammit, that's why it's a secret!)! This shop is amazing and fun to hang out in... might as well get tatted (or pierced!). It was full of jokes and laughter almost the entire time. I can't wait to come back for my next tattoo with Myke!

Whoever's answering the phone over there is doing an impressive job of actively turning away business. I called to book an appointment for myself and my significant other--pretty straightforward, right? He asked for our names and my phone number, which I gave him. Then he asked for my partner's phone number, and I said we use the same one. Apparently, that was where everything fell apart. He immediately got an attitude and refused to use the same number. I'm sorry... what? Since when is sharing a phone number a dealbreaker? Are landlines illegal now? Needless to say, I never even made it to booking the appointment. Business lost before I could even walk in the door... impressive. It's especially disappointing since I've worked with Bill and his wife through Wildlife before and had a great experience. Unfortunately, this time I couldn't even get past the phone call because of... a phone number. Sad! read more

Stopped in to get a small but tasteful cover up tattoo to a) cover an old one and b) to commemorate my dad, who passed away. Made an appointment, artist was on time, process took about 2 hours to decide, prep and to completion. Great experience. Sorry can't recall the woman artist's name. Bill decided to comment (as well as call And beg for me to take this comment down) but to clarify. I'm fully aware of someone will be touching my gf tits while there getting pierced. Only thing that got me weirded out was when you (the owner) made me feel weird for wanting to be in the room... I think most regular guys would be weird about being kicked out the room where someone they love was in an compromise situation with another male.. my girlfriend also wanted breast implants, and the doctor had no problem with me being in the room while he did his examination. I would highlight more so that the fact that your irresponsible employee was an hour and a half late and after waiting that long, I was not going to make my girlfriend not get her piercings done because of my personal feeling.( I know you were a little out of it, but you may remember me saying babe let's go.) but after looking at her face like most men would with a bit of disappointment I felt forced into accepting a situation. I was not comfortable with that is why I walked out and made a comment on your social media, which you fail to recognize or address.. you can play off your state this and that but you've been around long enough to know there is exception to everything because when I was 15 years old as well getting my lip pierced in your establishment, my sister was standing right next to me, I will not diminish your experience nor diminish my previous experiences with your establishment, which have been good. We're discussing a specific situation where I had a female in a compromise position that you played off like a choice pervert, a pervert, looking for a situation where you can admire my girlfriend's tattoos and body modifications like the creep you are as you stated in your reply, my girlfriend is tatted from head to toe, and I'm sure you had a joy admiring all of that while I was in the other room'! I went in late night on a Monday and Ryan assisted with my last minute tattoo. He was super efficient and gave me exactly what I wanted. This was the quickest tattoo I've ever had and he did amazing. He even was able to touch up a smaller tattoo I previously had. He was super open and gave me his contact information just in case I had any questions. First time here since are usual piercing place didn't allow septum and naval piercing for my 15 year old until 16. A bit intimidating walking in as you walk up a squeaky, old fashioned but carpeted flight of stairs. We came up to counter, not really greeted with a welcoming welcome but I was assisted immediately so its ok. My daughter's pierce artist was very professional, sweet and communicated. She was perky and very informative. She was training but didnt interfere with work. There is a vench in front of doorway so I could watch my daughter. NO photos or videos allowed at all. NO talking to person getting work done at all as well. Awesome service my artist. I would come back if needed to. Great place! read more

Wild bills tattoo is the BEST tattoo shop I have ever been to.. and I have been to a good few. I have been coming here since I was 18, and I am 28 now (So 10 years of getting tattoos here). Without fail my tattoo artist Myke has always provided the most wonderful and beautiful tattoos I have ever seen. Myke is skilled in all the styles I have ever thrown at him, his tattoos make me feel beautiful even on my worst days. I have a lot of tattoos on my body and Myke has done 90% of them. I could not recommend coming to Wild Bills tattoo shop in Roseville enough. If you want an amazing, beautiful, and detailed tattoo that makes you feel like the beautiful human that you are.. I called to ask a couple questions and the girl that answered the phone explained something I let her finish and was about to ask something else but she was rude and cut me off so I will not ever use this company horrible first time not good customer service. They also have much higher-quality titanium and gold jewelry. Just be sure to ask for the price of your jewelry selection if you are budget-conscious. Highly recommended!

As my ear dropped, she told me that it turned out crooked. I decided to check, and it was HORRIBLE!! It was touching my HEAD!!! I became really quiet since I got scared, but she then asked if she could re-pierce it. I decided sure since I am already here, and she did it again. Spoiler alert! It was off once again, and she re-pierced it without my permission while it caught me completely off guard! She promised me that she would not charge me for the piercing, but guess what! She ended up charging me full price. I will not come back, and I will not recommend this place. Good Luck!

I liked how the tattoo stations were set up facing the windows and the clients getting tattoos had movies playing for a nice distraction. There didn't seem like much room, but maybe it was (since I'm not the expert, lol). Everyone looked comfortable! We met Shannon! She walked out with gorgeous long purple & blue hair and a big smile. I instantly loved her personality! After introductions, she went to go sanitize the room so we could all get pierced. One by one and we watched each other all get pierced, Shannon took her time with each of us. We all did something different. My daughter got a floating halo, her grandmother got a flat, I think?? I got the conch. Right before Shannon pierced us, she offered to count down if we wanted. I needed a count down, lol! How funny is my daughter that as I decided on the conch, she whispers the word "ouch" to me before I was pierced, lol! Yeah it hurt, but it also felt great! Shannon was quick with it and handled my ear worth care. Shannon also explain to each of us the process of keeping it clean daily, a few times a day with saline. We all took it like Champs! I am super happy with mine! This is definitely my go-to shop to get pierced from now on!

I work a lot and don't have a ton of free time so the lack of respect for my time is super inconsiderate especially with how much I pay every time, and recommend other people to the business, which I just did recently and now my sister has been going there. **UPDATE** in response to the below comment... that information is actually not accurate at all and actually makes it look like you are making excuses for it. Yes I arrived at 11:39 (early for my 11:45 appt) when I asked the front desk guy if my tech, who I visibly saw with my own eyes working actively on a client in the very beginning phase of a nail job, would be finished soon as my appt was at 11:45, he responded with a defensive "we are down 4 techs today" when I asked this I looked at the time at it was 11:45 exactly. I was not able to sit there for an hour as stated previously I have one day off and had other things to do. I'm not asking for special treatment, this is usually standard for an appointment. The front guy didn't even try to find out how long I would have to wait or if he would be finishing up soon (probably not considering I could see him clearly) so everything the business owner replied is actually not at all true and I don't appreciate the gaslighting.

I went to Bill's back in 2008 to get a Lilly on my foot. the artist I picked was Myke because I really liked what I saw in his portfolio . He was very patient and professional with me. When I showed up for my appointment he asked me if I had brought any reference, which I didn't. It wasn't a problem though as he found some himself. He drew up my lilly and I asked for a couple of changes. He showed no attitude whatsoever and just proceeded to make the changes I asked for. No problem! design was perfect. I was a little nervous getting tattooed as it was my first time but Myke was very reassuring and calmed me down quite a bit. He kept asking how I was doing during the whole tattoo process which made me feel like he cared about my well being. The tattoo is beautiful, even now after 2 years the colors are still very bright. as of now he has done 6 tattoos on me and I plan on going back for more. the reason I am giving this place 2 stars is because of the attitude Bill and some of the artists have towards people. While I was getting tattooed he was screaming on the phone, and whenever someone would come in with questions he would act like that person wasn't even there. total attitude! In the 6 times I was there not once have I seen bill actually be nice to someone, employee of his or potential client. He always seemed like he had a chip on his shoulder. I went back the end of December 2010, to get another tattoo from Myke, but sadly he was gone and Bill didnt want to tell me where he went to. He kept asking me if there was anyone else there that I would be interested in doing my tattoo, but I wanted Myke to do my tattoo as he has done all my others and I'm comfortable with him. In the end I managed to get one of the workers there to tell me where he went to. Since I have noticed quite a few good reviews for Myke on here, I figured it would only be fair to write where he currently is as he's an excellent artist and deserves it. the shop he's in now is called "The Studio" and it's located at 634 vernon st. I already went there and got the tattoo I wanted from him, this time a rose with some flourishes on my right shoulder. not to mention he charged me less here. In the end I'm kind of glad Myke left, as the attitude at Wild Bill's was unbearable, and Bill made me feel very uncomfortable at times. Go see Myke! You won't regret it! I heard Wild Bill's raised $17,000.00 for the U.C. Davis Children's Hospital on Saturday. The artist there worked all day and gave the money To the hospital. That tells you what kind of people work there. After hearing that I felt I should share my tattoo experience. so here goes. I knew a couple of people who have gotten work there & were very happy with it, so I decided to try this place out for my first tattoo. So I went into the shop for a consultation and looked at the portfolios. I loved the work Chris was doing. So I left a generic picture of what I wanted & my contact info and within about 45 minutes, Bill called me back. We discussed a time frame and he told me Chris was booked for the next six or seven days. Boo Hoo! Then...he had to put me on hold twice, (sounded like they were very busy) when he came back on the line he said Chris just had a cancellation for a 3 hour spot the following Thursday. I was so stroked. So Thursday I went in and showed Chris a few more pictures of what I had in mind while he set up his station. I told him I was open to any suggestions or modifications. I completely trusted him & put the final results in his hands as he proceeded to freehand a sketch on me. It was a lot bigger than I had initially expected, but I kept an open mind and the idea really started to grow on me. He used the curves of my body to keep the flow of the tattoo going. Then came the actual tattooing itself. Everyone told me the most painful place to get one is along the ribcage. Of course I was a little nervous going into it, but Chris made sure I was comfortable. I can't lie, there were parts (not so fleshy areas/near bone) where I had to bite my lip because it did hurt, but it wasn't as bad as everyone made it out to be. After laying there for about 3 hours, I was left with the outline and shading of my Flowers that go from right under my bra to my hip bone and I couldn't be any happier with the outcome. I am excited to go back for color and possibly a 2nd tattoo! He was super nice and my new favorite artist. There is some great photos of his work on the website. As soon as my tattoo is finished, I'll post some of it. Chris and Wild Bill's made my first tattoo the ultimate experience. FIVE STARS !!! read more

Scott is the Best! It's not like I'm covered in ink. Prior to going to wild Bill's I had only one small tat from over a decade ago. Having said that, the tattoo parlor I was searching for needed to be nothing short of spectacular as 1) the design I was getting was to celebrate an anniversary and 2) I was making a decision for me and my husband. I didn't want just an average tattoo parlor, I wanted a place that felt like "an experience". Hey, you only live once right? When my friend came back from a consultation raving about the place, I did some more research and checked out their MySpace page. The establishment looked very cool and the artists portfolios showed some beautiful work . Point 1. Then I had an e-mail exchange with Bill and told him the style we were after, he guided me to Scott. Another point in Wild Bill's favor. Between that point and my big day I exchanged e-mails with Bill a few times and he answered all of my questions/concerns promptly. Point 2 So come the big day I entered the place that's outfitted really nice. Not just "Like any tattoo shop". Scott's demeanor was professional and calming. The proof of his talent is in the pudding as my tat turned out BEAUTIFUL. Clean lines, just awesome. I watched another artist working on a large piece and he was so pleasant and relaxed and had this positive vibe about him, I think his name was Tyson. My experience when I went back for fill in work, again, was great even thou the place was super busy (it was the weekend). And that's when my husband went in for his ink (same tat). He liked Scott's demeanor as well. And said he loved the tattoo he did. Needless to say, I can't recommend Scott and the Wild Bill's team enough. read more

I just got my first tattoo here, and just as I expected, perfection. Bill set me up with my artist and he did great, made my tattoo even better than I ever imagined. The shop is huge and well organized and very clean The prices are damn great for the quality and time he spend on my tattoo. He was definitely considerate since I kept coming up with new ideas (he had to redraw it for me twice). Everyone working there is friendly, charismatic, and down right real. They were a lot of fun to hang out with while I was waiting to be tattooed. When I saw the drawing, I couldn't believe that he was able to bring my thoughts to life so well. Right then, I knew I was at the right place. Before starting, though, they ran me through the process, explaining how long it would take, what I would feel, and what he would be doing. I appreciated him telling me that if at any time, for any reason, I felt overly uncomfortable I was to tell him to stop. My tattoo took almost two hours to do. The room was very open but quite. It helped me concentrate and keep my mind off the sensation I think. But it sure wasn't as bad as I was expecting. As I was getting worked on I was told how to care for my tattoo afterwards. He also gave me a card with thorough instructions on it and talked to me about when to visit back to have it checked and let him take a photo of it after it healed for his portfolio. I thought that showed real professionalism. Then afterwards when I saw my new tattoo in the mirror I was stoked. The detail and shading is just awesome !! I am sooo happy. Well after being directed here I figured I'd start by reading the other reviews and wow such contrasts. I've been to Wild Bill's once now for a tattoo and recently for a piercing. I can't say if I've ever met Bill, but I've talked to him Via email and he was very concerned that I had been helped already, which I had. I look forward to having more tattoo work done there in the future, but this review is about my recent trip there for piercings. I had some concerns about getting more piercings due to a latex allergy I discovered since my last piercings so I went in to talk to one of their piercers. No one was free/in that day so I was told to email Myke, so I headed home and sat for a few days thinking of my questions before I shot off an email to Myke. I received a prompt reply that evening with informative answers, I was set and headed in to see Myke. Myke was very friendly, great attitude, uber professional, massively patient, totally put me at my ease did a great job on my piercings. The studio was clean, everything was sterile, Myke changed his gloves many times during my visit which was unusual for me to see. This has been my fourth piercing experience and by far the best and most comfortable (yes you can be somewhat relaxed and comfortable getting stabbed by needles!) Myke also followed up the following week to make sure my piercings were doing okay and to see if I had any questions, wow you don't get that kind of service often in the body art industry! Should I decide I need any more piercings, I'll definitely go back there not to mention for my future tattoos! Oh and if you have a latex sensitivity/allergy they have nitrile gloves so don't hesitate to ask! read more

First off I couldn't be MORE PLEASED with the work I received here on my tattoo from JOSE!! I came in to get a cover-up (b/c the guy that did it before in another state totally maimed me and it was just font) I was extremely nervous because the tat I was having redone was my first and obviously went terribly awry. I came in with pictures and my options open with what could be done to cover up this illegible scribbling on my low right hip. Jose was very professional, attentive during my consult with him. He did a pre-lim drawing on me and discussed what I'd like. He took his time, definitely no rushing. And the quote was exceptionally reasonable. Only $150 for a custom cover up tat with several colors and fine detail. I was expecting closer to $300, so I was extremely happy and excited. He emailed me his final design the night before my appt asking if there were any tweaks I'd like to do to the design. We decided on a cherry blossom branch to cover the existing failed font and then he rewrote the font as it should've been done and incorporated into the branches of the cherry blossom. Its absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Its not a small tattoo 6in across my hip and 4 1/2in length to low pelvic. Everyone I spoke with at Wild Bills was very friendly and nice Wild Bill included. Its a very clean organized place and I cant possibly give enough praise to Jose for his excellent creative work, design, kindness, and for being gentle!!!! I will be returning to get my 2nd tattoo there on my left hip soon and my husband has decided to get 2 more done with him as well!! Definitely highly recommend this place and JOSE. To be honest, this review is a bit dated. But, I have had friends go there more recently and have pretty much the same experience that I had. I've frequented Wild Bills and never have I had a bad experience, even when going in just to ask stupid questions. I remember my first time going in. Myke, who is an artist there was an apprentice then and was at the front. Through all of the dumb questions I had, he never once showed any signs of "Man, this person is a moron. And is wasting my time". He was really really friendly, answered all of my questions, and basically, treated me more like a friend than a walk in. I used to go by every now and then, without getting a single tattoo or piercing and even still, everyone there just treated me as if one I was one of their friends coming and hanging out. I know Myke's been an artist there for quite a while now; each of my friends who went and got a tatto there never failed to mention how cool everybody was. I've gotten some great tattoos done by Myke, and a few others no longer there. Each and every time has been a really really cool experience. One night Myke did one piece of work ad lib and he was super cool about whole thing, doing, and then redoing the sketch until we got what we wanted, and then spending a lot of time and effort to make sure it would come out as well as we both wanted. I'm going to send a photo of it to a magazine! Anyways, just wanted to give a good review because this place definitely deserves it. If! you are going to get a tattoo this is the place to go. I'm in my 30's and I'm kicking myself for waiting this long to get my 1st tattoo. The administrative part seemed a little frazled but that can be forgiven considering they are so busy and dealing with so many clients when I called to set up my appointment it was set for a week out ant they asked that I send them an email with my ideas and some pics for inspiration. When I arrived I was nervous because they told me the artist was drawing the design then. But I realized ineeded to calm down and trust that they know what they are doing. The design was amazing and my artist Corey is a damn wizard. I kept waiting for it to hurt and I didn't want to jinx myself by asking why it wasn't. It was over before I Even knew it and after asking some friends the price out the door was cheaper than I was expecting. I'm so pleased with the result. Also their instructions on wound care was very straight-forward and easy to follow. If you want to get a tattoo or maybe your first tattoo experience was less than amazing don't be discouraged. I'm sure you will love the work and the environment. The only thing I am unsure of is if I should try a different shop so I have something to compare this to our if I should just stick with what works. I interacted with Corey my tattooist the most but also got to chat with Bill the owner as well as Scott everyone was friendly but also had the air of a confident badass artist who knew what they were doing without the Cockiness or Arrogance. So I got another tattoo. It was a spur-of-the-moment, 'Oh hell, why not' kind of tattoo. Now don't get me wrong, it is something I have been wanting to get for quite some time now, and very well thought out, nothing I was going to regret in the morning. I didn't just roll up into Wild Bill's and say 'I'd like that trendy three stars tatted on my wrist or behind my ear. (no offence to anyone with that tatt). I talked for a while with some of the artists and liked the work Myke had in his book. We talked for a while an found the design I was looking for on the computer and viola, after a half hour of redrawing it I'm sitting in the chair, putting myself through this mess once again. After being there a couple of hours I could see the artists there are nothing if not professional they seem to really care about what your getting and why. Bill was there and he was a riot. Working on a drawing at his desk talking to me as I got my work done. He had lots funny stories of his 30+ years as a tattoo artist. Bill takes his work seriously and doesn't put up with people that take getting tattooed lightly. On the cleanliness level, this place doesn't eff around. They prepare the chair, and let you watch. Clean, clean, clean is like music to my ears. Post tatt they clean once again, explain how to take care of it, patch you up, and send you on your merry way. I Love the tattoo Myke did. This is one of those places where coming in looking perfectly normal is a little intimidating. It's the biggest tattoo/piercing places I've ever seen and I've been stopping in every one I see, not quite ready for that big step. But as it turns out, the staff is helpful to the point of surprising. Liz could see I was a little scared as she explained to me how to take care of a belly button piercing I was getting. When we went into the piercing room, it was like doctors office. Bright inside and everything was chrome or white. The counters, sinks, everything was spotless. She was very gentle with me as I had my belly button done. And it didn't even hurt !!! Additionally, the jewelry selection is incredible and goes above and beyond what I've seen at any other place here in the area. These guys sell stuff that you just don't see elsewhere. I know I'll be back for some of the unique pieces they carry. I told Liz I was thinking about a tattoo. The waiting room was kind of full but she still took the time to give me a tour and let me look around at all the beautiful tattoos people were getting done. We went through a door that said "do not enter" and there was another waiting room and large tattoo area with three more people tattooing. They must have had eight people working that night .That place is big. I couldn't believe it when Liz said they have over 3,000 customers a year come through. That place was happening! I decided that Wild Bill's was the place to go because it came highly recommended by a friend who is an editor over at Sacramento Magazine. So Friday I strolled into Wild Bill's, a shop I have been wanting to go to for quite some time now. I spoke to Myke he seemed very talented and his air of professionalism really struck me. I wanted a large design drawn up for my ribs. He asked for a deposit which makes sense considering they do get really crowded during the weekends. I scheduled my appointment during the week after work, so it would be a little quieter. I gave a him a so-so composite of what I wanted but he turned the weak drawing into a great sketch. I went in three times, one for the outline and two for the shading and color. Myke did an totally awesome job on my tattoo. So much better than I ever imagined. He closed the curtains so there were no distractions. Mellow music was playing. I think that helped me be more comfortable and able to concentrate on laying still. For those people who want ribcage tattoos, expect some sensitive spots for sure and loads of vibrating. Sometimes it felt like my whole body was vibrating. Every line felt longer than it was. I'm not sure I would recommend that spot for your first tattoo. Definitely an intense experience. But the finished product is so worth it. Every one that sees it agrees. Once my new tattoo heals I'm going back to get more work that's for sure. Wild Bill's is a great place and Myke is a very gifted artist. read more

Wild Bill's is the very best place in the area, hands down. right now every artist that works there is wonderful. some are out of this world. Chris, Josh and Charles have been friends and working together for a long time and their work proves it. not only are they talented tattooist but they're talented artists. I got two small, beautiful tattoos from Charles. I would highly recommend him. He is professional, patient, and non-judgmental. I changed my mind on the size of the tattoos and the placement and he just went with it. I would also recommend the other artist Mike, who worked next to us. he was working on some really annoying hipsters. He was professional and completely at ease even though the people were really lame. I saw him give one of the girls in the group a beautiful, intricate tattoo. This shop isn't the place to go if you just randomly decide to get a tattoo. its a shop you go to when you have a well thought out idea and want someone creative to bring your idea to life. They know what they're doing, so be open to their suggestions and ideas. they're not a cheap shop but they charge you what their work is worth. its going to be on you for life, not a month. so save up and call to schedule an app ahead of time. or better yet, go into the shop first, check out the artists and their work and than schedule an app. that way no one is wasting anyone's time. read more

I have to admit, I did not do any research on tattoo artists for my latest piece. The reason being, it was a lotus on my wrist that would be less than two inches wide. I figured that pretty much anyone could do it. Since I drive by Wild Bill's all the time and I hear they have some great artist, I figured I'd stop in and see if they had a drop in available as I figured it would take about 50 minutes to get what I wanted. They are by appointment. So I'm lucky Kim had some time and she fit me in. She worked with me to figure out the exact design I wanted, I went and grabbed some food down stairs to kick up the blood sugar levels and she went to work as soon as I came back. All in all it took under an hour, I'm so thrilled with the results. She put so much detail into it. I know its not some great big back piece but it is five star worthy (It looks that good) I now have a new tattoo artist. Can't wait for her to re-do my lower back piece! Also, I'm not sure what the name of the guy working the front was, but he was really nice and fun to talk to while I waited. This is the best tattoo parlor I've ever been in and that goes a long way for me. So if you have to wait for them to give good service to some one else, just know that you'll get the same when it's your turn. Thanks Kim. It doesn't get any better than this. read more

I was finally able to come up with a tattoo meaningful enough to lay on my body for the rest of my days. My grandfather passed, and I wanted to get a tribute tat... I knew right where to go!!! Straight to Wild Bill's, a friend of mines had referred me years ago, I realized how great this shop was after visiting a few others with a friend (he was trying to find place to fix his first tattoo done years earlier). Other places had rude people at the desk, eating lunch and chatting on cell phones tons of sketchy guys just hanging out, smoking outside the door. Soon as I walked in I was greeted a gentleman who drew out my ideas immediately! I got a cross with a flower. I'm going to add some script soon as I figure what to write. Scott did my artwork and I was so relaxed that I fell asleep!!! I only have a picture I took with my cell phone of the outline to share. Everyone gives a wonderful vibe and makes you feel welcome. I'm a picky customer when it comes to even the most mundane of purchases. So when it comes to something as permanent as a tattoo, I can be borderline psychotic. Everything went just fine. Stop Searching! This is where you go for beautiful custom work. Check out her site, it's definitely worth it. If you want the same old generic stuff, this ain't for you. I can't say that I have any prior experience getting a tattoo since my visit to Wild Bill's was to give myself a birthday gift of my first tattoo. However, my friend who escorted me there had gotten her first tattoo there about a year earlier (one she designed herself and got on her back on her far left.) with her friend who has gone there several times, so I had two recommendations for their quality of service. They were very friendly, joking around and making me feel less nervous as I filled out forms, had my design reworked and waited for an artist to get ready. I got a small tattoo of the Ancient Greek noun that my name comes from on the back of my neck, right where my hairline is. It was about 3 in. long and 1 in. high. The guys were really nice and professional, and their space was very tidy and clean and they explained their health procedures with the needles and ink, and also gave me a detailed aftercare guide for while my tattoo healed. It was a really great experience, and if I ever decide to get another tattoo I will go back there! read more

"GET TATTOOED FOR THE KIDS" I've said it before and I'll say it again: Wild Bill is and has been an outstanding supporter of our community, and is an awesome individual. He has been a fixture on Vernon street for more than 34 years. I saw in the paper that on Sat Feb 21st. Wild Bill and his crew of volunteers will contribute the entire proceeds (including Tips) during their annual TATTOO-A-THON to the UC Davis Children's Hospital. This is the eighth year and so far they have raised $78,000.00 The hospital is even naming a unit of the hospital after the tattoo shop. How cool is that? Because of their generosity, they have improved the lives of many who are not so fortunate in our community. They even have artists from other shops coming in that are going to work day and night. for 16 hours straight! Raising money for the Children's Hospital. I don't have any yet but, tattoos are beautiful body adornments and enhancements to our individuality, and we are thankful that we are so fortunate to have such a talented artist in our midst. WILD BILL'S TATTOO SHOP ROCKS !!! it's not like any other tattoo shop I've ever been to. I've had other tattoos before, at places with 5 chairs and strange men looking at you while you are getting tattooed. My experience at Wild Bill's changed my whole perception on getting tattooed. There all the men tattoo on one side of the building and there is a separate private large room where all the girls work. They even have their own waiting room. That made it so much more comfortable and easier for me to relax while getting tattooed. Well It all started with a consultation. After looking through ten different artist portfolios I picked Kim as my artist. Basically you let her know what you want, what you don't want, etc. She will take your ideas and work with you on making it perfect, She even worked with me via email! How awesome! Next, you set up and appointment and get your tattoo! We talked and laughed the entire time she was working on me. I have to mention that Kim does fantastic work, and she is fast! I thought I would be there for at least 1 hour, nope I was wrong, it was done in 45 minutes! Bottom line, if you are thinking about getting a tattoo, go to Wild Bill's. Kim won't disappoint! read more

Josh... AMAZING and very reasonable... one of the coolest guys there. Steve... another AMAZING one... and another of the coolest guys there. UNFORTUNATELY- had a very crappy experience last time we went there and will NEVER go back. Josh and Steve were out on the day that we wanted our appointments so we figured another artist would be just as good and reasonable. HA! We were greeted by Mr. Rockstar with attitude oozing all over the place...and he quoted us an OUTRAGEOUS price ($200+)for a very simple design that ended up taking less than an hour for another tattoo artist to do a FANTASTIC job at a FRACTION of what this jerk wanted to charge me! It's NOT about the money. I respect that these guys are artists and can name their prices... no issues there. But why the HEAPING SERVING of attitude? Sure... let me pay you to treat me like crap. I think not. Sorry- because of the guy's attitude- I will never go back to the shop... There are LOTS of great tattoo artists in the area... Try Derek at Black Ax. He's amazing and a down-to-earth cool dude... work is PERFECT and he's VERY reasonable. read more

I just wanted to write this review while the ink is still quite fresh. My new tattoo is awesome I want to slap someone! I followed Tyson (from another shop) over to Wild Bill's, and as usual the work he did on me is superbly awesome! The folks there are funny as heck and I had a great time. It was a really busy Friday night. I could see that Bill was doing his best to keep everything sane and running smooth. He's a big guy, tattooed from neck to ankles and won't put up with bull, I know, after watching him tell a couple of yahoos to split that were messing around. The quality of work I witnessed while laid out on the table was extremely high. The artists seem to really enjoy their work and at looking at each other's art. Its good to know that great artists there are always learning from each other. They don't want just to do tattoos off the wall, they want to draw something different you'll really dig. So if you want an amazing custom tattoo, look nowhere else than Wild Bills! read more

I went back to Wild bill's to get another piece done, and asked for my artist but found out he had moved on! I was pretty sad because he was the one who suggested the idea last time I went in...but I decided to go back anyways. Myke, the artist (as it turns out) was trained by him, was the one who answered the phone. He was super friendly and when I walked in, he listened to my idea, looked at the area I wanted it (this tat was to cover a birthmark that I was born with and it already looked like a tattoo) and he said we were going to have to go freehand. This was my first cover-up tat and Myke was awesome! he's a really talented artist and really listened to what I wanted. I highly recommend him to anyone. His specialty is realistic tats, but he's down to try anything. It didn't hurt either but I never think it hurts so I may not be the best person to listen to about pain level. The price was totally reasonable and I am definitely going back to Myke for future ink! Love this place! read more
