I went for the friday the 13th special in march and did not find out until now that i was pierced with externally threaded flat backs. these earrings damage the piercing channel as they are pulled through. I got four piercings with them in one sitting and bled more than i ever have before and i had 8 piercings previously. I bled so much that it dripped onto my jacket and pants. PLEASE be cautious and ask as many questions as possible. They have potential to be good because of the low price but were not upfront about what they were doing. The staff was kind and patient to me although my sisters piercer was curt and a bit unhelpful. They definitely need to upgrade their jewelry and/or switch to internally threaded flat backs. read more

The staff was kind, but there are some serious concerns regarding their jewelry quality and aftercare advice. I went in with an irritated cartilage piercing and was sold externally threaded cheap stainless steel material, which caused a reaction. Additionally, I was advised to used Hibiclens for cleaning, an extremely powerful antiseptic that is dangerous to use around your face, much less on a piercing. They also do not have any saline solution in the store at all, which is a standard industry practice. I hope the shop considers updating their materials and advice to match basic safety standards. This spot would be alright for a simple lobe, but anything more complex I'd suggest bringing your own sterile saline and researching jewelry materials beforehand. read more

Staff was really nice and decently priced piercings. However I got my flat helix done and it was pierced with a butterfly back. It ended up digging into the back of my ear causing extra swelling. I would for sure clarify beforehand what jewelry you'll be pierced with. read more

We went to Red Dragon Tattoo and Piercing to have my daughter's earlobes re-pierced and to get them a septum piercing. Their ears had been pierced three years ago but had been done poorly and in the wrong spot; one actually split their earlobe and fell out within a few months. Kevin was patient and asked all the right questions to ensure that my daughter was ready for the ear and septum piercings. He explained everything thoroughly and handled everything professionally. He was kind and personable and ensured that my daughter felt comfortable throughout the process. The shop is clean, and Kevin used extensive hygienic procedures in addition to sterilized equipment. I am honestly shocked this place has the high reviews they do. I came here several years ago for my first cartilage piercing. I got my helix done and still have PTSD. First of all, they recommend you wash your piercing with Dial antibacterial soap? Way too harsh for any piercing. Piercings should only be cleaned with saline solution twice a day. Second, they put a butterfly backing on a helix piercing and pierced it at an angle, also using stainless steel jewelry. You get what you pay for. I've never come back as my helix has healed horribly this place and was a nightmare until I went to a certified APP piercing shop and they helped me out. For reference, I have 11 other piercings done by Chief and Dv8 and none have healed as poorly as red dragon's. Avoid at all costs for piercings other than lobes. read more

I came in with my girlfriend after hearing both her and my other friends ranting and raving about both Kevin and Kristen's stellar piercing work. Upon arrival, we were given a warm welcome, followed by some poking. Kevin did ours, two nostrils for me, and a forward helix for the lady. We came to Red dragon tattoo for my 3 year olds ear piercing. We were "greeted" by the front shop girl. I use greeted loosely as she was very rude when asking us what we were there for. We received the paper work, filled it out, and went to the room for piercing. I thought there would be more earring options as well but all they had were silver or gold and same style (cheaply looking earrings). Kevin and Kristen were both very sweet and engaging with my daughter. They quickly pierced both ears at once and then gave us instructions for after care. We went home followed instructions. I'm not sure if it's the tattoo shop policy for the after care instructions but I definitely think they need to update it with better cleaning options. First off trying to find dial soap without fragrance is difficult; the other cleaning solution listed has fragrance in the ingredient list which I wouldn't put anything fragrance on a piercing or wound. Secondly trying to cleaning a toddlers ear with soap is not as easy as it sounds. My daughter was in a lot of pain and had major swelling, bruising and bleeding days and days after the piercings. I ended up researching all day trying to figure out if she had an infection/allergy to the earrings/etc. I ordered NeilMeds aftercare piercing as I found a few videos and posts saying how this type of products helped clean and heal piercings faster. Even other mom groups were talking about the solution being the go to. When it arrived I used it twice a day that first day and by the next day her ears were 10x better. I've been using the spray 2x a day since getting it instead of dial soap which if you have a baby or toddler or anyone really it's easier and more convenient. I'd go this route. Also, I did go to the shop to have Kevin look at the ears and he said they weren't infected and no allergy to earrings. He was great! Decided to get my nostril pierced last minute. I called around 9pm to check if they did walk ins, they were open until midnight which is already a plus one! I came around 9:40pm ish to get my nostril piercing, the girl up front was super nice and informative as I wanted to see what kind of jewelry they had. The process was pretty fast, since nobody was there. Did paper work and they scanned my ID and everything. My piercer was Kevin, he was super nice and quick also. If I could give a zero I would. I got a small ankle tattoo here a few years ago I dont remember the guys name but he seemed high asf. I gave him the picture of the tattoo I wanted, he printed it out, placed it on my ankle with the stencil ink and had me check to make sure I liked it. It was perfect so I don't know how it got so messed up but the final result looks like he completely erased the stencil and started from scratch. Came in late Saturday night looking to get a couple cartilage piercings, I had called earlier in the week to be sure they took walk-ins. Right away I asked about seeing Kevin or Kristen because of how many reviews I saw mentioning how awesome their service was, but Chris informed me that they had the day off. I never thought that I would absolutely love a tat and piercing place, but I love Red Dragon. A good friend of mine knew I wanted to have some piercings re-done, and had just been to Red Dragon the week before, and highly recommended my going there. We had been to another place a few years ago, and she said this place by far was better. Friends know stuff! I didnt make an appointment, just walked in. Kevin, who by the way is THE awesomeness person ever! was available. YAY me. He put me at ease, and said, you'll be out of here in no time. Look, I am a total chicken when it comes to enduring intense pain, so his joke about back piercings hurting worse, made me laugh. Kind of. Kevin is a perfectionist, and before he started, he cleaned the room we were using. Once he looked at the areas I wanted pierced, he cleaned the areas, and before I could cry like a baby, he was done. Yeah, he's THAT good. He gave me clear instructions about cleaning, and keeping the areas clean. This is the first time that I have had a piercing that hasnt hurt past an hour or two. Usually, the pain lasts a few days. Did I mention that he is super reasonably priced?? He is! Its a cash only transaction, but there is an ATM inside should you forget your benjamins. I did take a peek at one of the tat artist work, and was impressed with the detail of his work. Red Dragon is incredibly clean from floor to ceiling, and that alone is worth a lot. This is a long overdue review. My friend and I were visiting Roseville and I wanted to get my nose pierced. I didn't know if they were allowing nose piercings due to COVID and having to wear face masks but they said they would do it! What a great experience it was. We were greeted immediately and was introduced to my piercer. I filled out some paperwork and down the hall I went into my room. My friend was allowed to hang out with me during my piercing process. Everything was nice and clean and sterile. Bam, my nose was poked and it was done. The piercer went over after care, and answered all of my questions. She was extremely knowledgeable.
