Since my last review, this practice has been sold to Advanced Hearing Center and I was most…read moreconcerned about what I might find.....or even to continue a relationship. I AM THRILLED TO HAVE CONTINUED and I have found my new "Audio-Angel", Dr. Jessi Figlewicz. Having been once again greeted by "the rock of the practice", Cynthia, I met...and was treated by....Dr. Figlewicz. She is a delight. Dr. Figlewicz clearly cares about her patients. She is a great listener (as an Audiologist should be) and carefully explains everything one should know about their condition.....and hearing needs. I look forward to a long relationship and encourage you to visit. You will be glad you did.

Our family decided to make a change and visit Eastside Audiology this past year. Dr. Finkelstein and her team are caring, competent and always put the customer first. We ran 30 minutes late to our appointment, yet they were able to see us in a timely fashion. The front desk is a smooth operation! Also, the office is very clean! The attention to detail and level of care my grandfather received was top-notch! Dr. Finkelstein and her team were very thorough and have excellent bedside manner. Admittedly, my grandfather is not the best patient however Dr. Finkelstein was very patient answering all of my grandfather's questions and made him feel comfortable. After my grandfather's diagnosis was updated, Dr. Finkelstein did a recalibration on his hearing aids. His hearing has never been better! Our family can now dine at loud restaurants - Hallelujah! Also, the York peppermint patties in the waiting room are a nice touch!

I've been to at least 4 different audiologists in NYC, none of whom impressed me very much, and one…read moreof whom was downright negligent. But when one of my hearing aids stopped working, and the company from which I purchased it told me the repair was not covered under my warranty, I went ballistic. So I searched for audiologists with high rankings, and found Dr. Ashley Marcus. Not only was I able to get an appointment within days, she called the manufacturer of my hearing aid and found that its repair was INDEED covered by warranty. Furthermore, though I hadn't purchased my hearing aids from Dr. Marcus, she treated me with the utmost respect, gave me a thorough set of audiological tests, compared them with my previous results (from 2+ years earlier), answered my questions, cleaned my working hearing aid, and charged a very reasonable price. I was relieved, impressed, and so grateful to have found Dr. Marcus. She is sending my broken hearing aid back to the manufacturer for warranty service, and will meet with me again when the repaired device comes back to reprogram its features and ensure that both hearing aids are integrated properly. WOW. I was so impressed with Dr. Marcus that I encouraged my husband to make an appointment with her for a baseline hearing test--a sensible idea for anyone who suspects hearing loss. THANKS, Advanced Hearing Center, west side location.

I had high hopes when I made my appointment. I said that I needed hearing aides and provided all…read moreof my insurance information, repeating that I required hearing aids. I explained that I was disable and used a power wheelchair and asked if the office was accessible. They assured me that it was but that I'd need to go to the concierge at the building next door and they would bring me to the office "the back way" . When I got there I was taken up two small flights of steps using a portable ramp (and nearly tipped over backwards on the ramp going up the first steps as the incline was too steep) and was taken to a room the size of a medium sized walk in closed. Once in the room it was obvious that the wheelchair would NOT fit through the door. The owner asked if I could sit in an office chair and they would roll me into the office. I said yes. Only then did they tell me that the were not in network for hearing aids using my insurance, but that they could do a hearing evaluation, and I'd have to get hearing aids somewhere else if I wanted to use those benefits. I asked if I'd need to have another hearing test at the place dispensing hearing aids. They said yes. I told them that I wasn't interested in paying for a test that wouldn't be useful to the process, and that I had been misinformed that the office was accessible, that it clearly was not, and that I had specifically said twice that I needed hearing aids, and was clear in that I used a power wheelchair. The owner told me that "many wheelchairs fit throught the small doorway", but acknowledged that this had been a problem in the past. I was furious, but kept calm and said I had to leave before I became unpleasant, I was so angry. They apologized. I wasted all of a morning and part of an afternoon. On the way out through the back on the ramp again I almost tipped trying to go down the ramp when the ramp slipped down from one step to the next and my chair very fortunately did not tip. I sucsessfully got down the second set of stairs but not without fearing greatly for my safety. It could have ended with a serious injury. This situation was more than inexcusable. First not telling me that they were not in network for hearing aids before came resulted in an absolutely wasted trip, which for someone in a power chair is extremely difficult. Being frankly intentionally lied to about accessibility, and almost being seriously injured by inadequate adaptive equipment and negligence/ignorance on the part of the connecting building staff. I will be making an ADA complaint with the city and whatever government agency are relevant about the audiology/hearing practice as well as the building next door, so that others don't have the same experience or risk injury. This is inexcusible.
