I happened to go here before a golf tournament at Stoneridge because they weren't serving breakfast down there. I'm sure glad I ended up at Audrey's! I loved the food and service so much, I made my husband drive up there the next day. Though it was an hour drive, it was worth it! I'm looking forward to going back for lunch and pie. read more

Nearly missed Audrey's on the way to Sandpoint. Located on Highway 2 in Newport, we entered to find a breakfast/lunch mix of tourists and locals inside. Like many stops in this part of the country, it is cozy, comfortable and friendly. The menu is built of staples found in any small town cafe. We enjoyed a late breakfast (served all day) of pork chops and eggs and German sausage and eggs. I was impressed that the chops were tender yet had a bit of a crust. The sausage came with biscuit and honey. We laughed because the honey packet said: Ingredients...Honey. The service was very friendly and unhurried. We loved it all. All day breakfast - yay! I just heard that they desperately need a cook, which probably explains our experience. I'll leave the review but we will give it another try next time we're up that way. Big pancake was good but the syrup wasn't. No flavor. My husband ended up putting jam on it. The bacon was good and the scrambled eggs were fine. I ordered the special, 2 eggs, hash browns and bacon. I asked for the hash browns to be crispy. Maybe that offended the server or the cook. The "hash browns" had barely been warmed through and nowhere were they crispy. (See pics) I imagined a big bowl of boiled potatoes in the kitchen that was grated for every couple of orders and then microwaved and served. I don't get it. read more

We drive by here all the time going into Newport, however, they're always so busy. We've never stopped. Today. We took a chance and we're pleasantly surprised that for breakfast they were not very busy. It was our first visit here and the food was really good. The service was great and will definitely come back again. Also, the prices are pretty darn good for what you get. Especially right now with the economy. We had the pork chops with gravy breakfast. My husband loved it. I had the six out steak breakfast and it was really good. Next time I'm trying the German sausage. read more

This is your typical small town, slightly outdated diner. The burgers we had I believe were precooked frozen patties that were reheated. It was pretty bland and quite greasy. The accompanying veggie toppings were fresh as was the hogue bun. The fries are the thin 'breaded' variety and were also somewhat greasy. I believe they also must cook the chicken and fish in the same oil as the fries as they had a slight taste of such items. We finished with a slice of huckleberry pie. This is really a slice of plain cheesecake with a huckleberry topping over it. It was pretty decent although not 'pie' as advertised. Service here was very good. The waitress was very friendly and attentive throughout. Overall it was fun trying a new place but unfortunately it was nothing more than meh. read more

Everything is amazing. The service is fun and friendly, it's never loud in there unless you go in during lunch (I usually don't because I'm at work sadly) the food is always just *mwah* perfect. Only complaint is the flies that pester you while you eat but that's easily solved because the waitresses have fly swatters on stand-by. read more

Absolutely delicious homemade soups and freshly prepared sandwiches (I had a BLT, *BEST* one I've had at a restaurant). A little gem in Newport, WA, they have indoor and outdoor seating, WONDERFUL service. I was in a hurry, due to work, and they got me in-and-out with my food fast, but they didn't short on quality, BEST little spot to duck in and out of, or spend a few! I've eaten here at least 20 times in the last month and a half as I've been relocating to the area. The food for breakfast is outstanding Great portions great hash browns. I've tried the ham, the bacon, the link sausage, the German sausage and the steak with eggs. All were good, the steak I was reluctant to try yet when I did it was the best of the lot. Tender, flavorful and priced right. French Toast is fab and the omelettes are excellent. Don't get me started on the pies eat in or take out cherry, apple, choc, coconut and even an avocado pie which sounds scary but has a key lime like flavor. All and all breakfast lunch or Dinner Audrey's is friendly efficient and very good food. read more

They get 2 stars for being clean and fast service. No real cheese here. Ordered a ham and cheese omelet with Swiss. It was processed cheese and had somehow separated. When we said something it was after everyone else was done eating. Waitress never came by to check on our order. Couldn't eat it. When we said something, we were offered something else but everyone was done. They took off only half the price of the omelet. read more

Recommended by the desk clerk at the Inn at Priest Lake. It did not disappoint. We were seated right away by a very friendly young waitress. She made us feel right at home. The menu is extensive with all the home cooked favorites. I love French toast and eggs and these dishes served here were wonderful. The restaurant was spotless and was run very efficiently. Good prices. We will return again the next time we come to Coolin. Their lunch and dinner menu also looked delicious. read more

Nice place and family oriented. Nice little soup salad bar, broccoli soup was awesome then the main dish French dip. I added cheese and onions super delicious with the au juice. The fish sandwich came out nice and semi crunchy. The fries are awesome battered fries and the turkey sandwich looked delicious with all the gravy and potatoes. What a fantastic, easy going family restaurant. Visiting my in-laws place and coming from southern CA it was a breath of fresh air. They always found a seat for my large family to sit and they had prompt and friendly service. The food was delicious and items you don't expect (like the strawberry or huckleberry sauce for pancakes) were home made. Stopped in for a brunch with the family after hearing good things about it. Nice little hometown diner feel, not quite a retro vibe but still old school style. Michael and I both had the eggs Canadian, Barbara had the taco omelette, and Emily had the pancakes with huckleberry topping. The eggs Canadian was good but the cheese tasted really processed (just sliced American and swiss like you get in Kraft packages). The pancakes were good and the topping was delicious, didn't even need syrup. The omlette was decent, the taco meat needed seasoning and overall it needed more cheese but the filling of vegetables had some good flavor and texture. It and the eggs Canadian came with hash browns which were crispy and excellent, not covered in oil like most diner browns. Michael also got a chocolate malt that tasted just as good as it looked (VERY chocolate-y). We had great and fast service, likely because it was pretty empty. Overall I'd recommend it if you're on your way into/out of Newport looking for a quick bite (or many, many bites as the serving sizes are HUGE). didn't even greet us when we came in or sat down. our server just threw our silverware in a pile in the center of the table instead of setting it down nicely. the sprite tastes like what i felt like at my moms funeral. it. was. horrible. she got our drinks wrong off the bat as well. she asked us if we needed anything and walked away before we could answer multiple times. this was the manager of the place too. food was pretty good though. read more

I tried this place for breakfast and lunch. Really disappointing that for a hometown restaurant there is not much homemade food here, mostly Sysco fair. The hamburgers are gross frozen patties, even watched them cook it frozen. Hashbrowns are cooked too quickly leaving the middle raw. They tell you toast or biscuit for breakfast but don't tell you it's 50 cent extra for a biscuit which is not that great. Nobody ask you how your food is, I suspect they know it's gross, not even Kevin the owner who is always wondering around not doing much. read more

This happened to my wife & I this last summer of 2022. The reason for writing this now is because I was asked for a recommendation for a place to eat & it reminded me of our experience at Audrey's of a place not to eat. First of all we went there for dinner. As you walk in we sat to the left in a booth. We ordered their fried chicken & pot roast dinners. Before the food got there we noticed that there were a lot of flies buzzing around. Then once the food arrived, that's when the flies got ridiculously annoying. They were everywhere & we spent the majority of the time swiping at them to keep them from landing in our food. So much for a relaxing meal. Now for the food. The fried chicken was the worst I have ever had. It was so hard & dry. How does one do that to chicken? It was so over fried. Next was the pot roast. Instead of serving it in slices like a normal serving of pot roast, it came shredded. The only reason to shred any meat except shredded pork is because it's dry & they add sauce to make it moist. Worst experience & waste of good money. read more

Ate here during vacation several days in a row last year. Now that we are back this year, we returned to Aubrey's. Same great food & service. Very accommodating to special requests such as no cheese/butter in the omelette I ordered. The specials are definately worth checking out. Had the turkey dinner and all you can eat fish n chips.
