The food was really good. Surprised by the quality and what you get for your money. Service is so friendly but a bit slow on a busy Saturday so just bring time. I loved their avocado sandwich! We were sitting outside and just love the outdoor area!

Such a cute place! Been on my "to try" list for a while.

My partner has family in CDA so I'm always on the lookout to try something new when we're there. Not sure where I found the recommendation for Izzy's but I'm glad I did. Not only is Izzy's a gluten free cafe, the food is next level. Inventive, fresh, flavorful and a blend of traditional favorites with modern twists. I was torn between the shrimp and grits and the Virginia Benedict. The fried Green tomatoes instead of a traditional English muffin sounded too delicious to pass up. It was perfectly portioned, seasoned and balanced. Beautifully poached egg topped with micro greens and tangy pickled white onions nestled between delicious fried Green tomatoes and blackened shrimp. Creamy, velvety hollendaise brought everything together. My partner had a delicious omelet with Idaho potatoes Oh, lavender mimosas with edible flowers were a nice touch too. Only 44 seats including a small counter, so reservations are recommend. But there is great shopping in the area if you have a wait like we did. This is a must try whether you're gluten free or not. I'll be back for those grits!

Amazing food and service! One of the top 100 restaurants in the country. Great environment awesome ambience. Definitely recommend this restaurant. We are regulars, we drive from Spokane Valley. Totally worth it!!

Yum yum yum You got to try this place! Cute locals place- sunny decor. Great service - Myah was amazing Good prices for large portions. I got a Peach Bourbon burger It Came with a good size patty lots of cheddar cheese, shoestring fried onions, not too sweet barbecue sauce and actually had peaches on it! My friend got the Buffalo chicken sandwich which was like franks sauce but better, not just vinegar-y but also had spice. Tasted good with the pickles it came with. Both came with a heaping pile of fresh fries that had skin on them so you knew they were fresh and made out of potatoes They offered fry sauce which was delicious and better than ketchup - not as sweet with thousand island vibes without the pickles. I didn't think I liked thousand island but this stuff was gooood We shared what I thought were gf berry scones but might have been biscuits, they were more doughy then expected but still good. Fun to try once but prob wouldn't reorder. Came with blackberries, blueberries and strawberries and the end of their fresh made whipped cream lol. I'd come back for the brunch because I've heard good things! We missed it since we came around 2:40pm But they have happy hour wed- Fri from 11am -4pm so that was def temping since we hit that time slot and the prices were good on the happy hour menu. Can't wait to go back and try brunch or their burger with mashed potatoes and Birria on top!

This was incredible, the staff were so nice, the environment was very chill, the food was incredible. We had the breakfast poppers, so good, we downed them before I even thought of taking a picture. The apple whiskey chicken sandwich might be the best chicken sandwich I've ever had.

We stopped here for brunch on a weekend. The place was quite crowded and had a 20minute wait time, although our table was ready sooner than expected. We got some coffees and a couple of benedicts -- Idaho benedict and Virginia benedict. I loved the Virginia benediction which contained shrimp, fried green tomatoes and poached eggs. The portion though small, was perfect for me and tasted great. The food took quite a while to arrive, something to keep in mind if you are hungry, you'll need a bit of patience. The staff was friendly, and service was good.

It's rare that I extend a 5-star rating, but man, Izzy's earned it. We arrived around 4:30 on a Friday afternoon, without a reservation, and waited for about a half hour for a table inside. The moral of this story is make a reservation. We ordered the shrimp toast (oh my God!!!!) for an appetizer. Let me say it again; oh my God!!! Enough said. My boyfriend had the Midtown Madness burger. He snarfed it down and enjoyed every bite. I ordered the soup and salad combo, opting for the house salad with grilled chicken. The greens were super fresh, the chicken was perfectly grilled, and the tomato soup rocked my world. The restaurant is small, clean, and comfortable, and service was excellent. I've added Izzy's to my "favorites" list.

A Flavorful Gem in Coeur d'Alene - Comfort Food with a Cultural Twist Izzy's Comfort Kitchen was the first restaurant I tried in Coeur d'Alene, and it truly set the bar high. While dining options in the area tend to lean toward American diners, breakfast joints, and Mexican fare, Izzy's stands out with creative takes on Southern comfort food and cultural influences--even offering hints of Egyptian and Caribbean-inspired flavors. The menu features dishes you won't easily find elsewhere, like oxtail soup, fried green tomatoes, and shrimp with grits, all elevated with bold, unexpected twists. They also proudly display their "Best of the Islander" awards, and it's easy to see why--with options like a standout Bloody Mary and plenty of gluten-free offerings. We visited during Happy Hour and sampled a variety of dishes. The wings were incredibly crispy with a unique, flavorful dry rub that was unlike any I've had before--deep, savory, and absolutely addictive. The shrimp were charred just right, though slightly overcooked for my taste, but still rich in flavor thanks to their sweet and savory house sauce. The fried green tomatoes were softer than expected (I was hoping for more crunch), but they paired nicely with the vegetable sides. The fries were a last-minute addition--we spotted them at a nearby table and couldn't resist. Thin, golden-brown, and extra crispy, they did not disappoint. What really made the experience exceptional was the service. The staff were attentive, fast, professional, and kind--bringing us extra boxes and condiments without us even asking. The entire atmosphere lived up to the restaurant's name: warm, cozy, and comforting, with rustic yellow décor, floral accents, and bar-style light fixtures that added charm without feeling kitschy. We were seated right at 11 a.m. on a Wednesday, and by noon, the place was packed--always a good sign. Between the flavorful food, inviting atmosphere, and thoughtful service, Izzy's Comfort Kitchen is a gem in Coeur d'Alene I'd definitely come back to--and recommend to anyone looking for something deliciously different. Food was fantastic and very home style, which makes this place fantastic in itself. However, we got double lucky and had Jordan as our waitress. She ROCKED it!!!!!!!

Cheerfully greeted and {as I was with a "walker" because of my recent hip replacement surgery} she suggested if I wanted a lower table it would be toward the back. She gave me a menu then momentarily disappeared to get me a room temperature water (delightful) and then we discussed the menu. I then ordered with her suggestions and waited. Not too very long thereafter, my lunch arrived - a lovely surprising portion, colorful, well presented and exactly as I was hoping for. The parmesan halibut addition to my seasonal salad (which BTW is not current on their website but my variation was DELISH) was tasteful and moist. The kale based salad was dressed in a cranberry vinaigrette, but I'd asked for a side of Bleu Cheese as well (my weakness, especially if it's a delightful house made version as this was). I only ate half & took the rest home, as it was large enough for two meals - and @ a price point which was reasonable for this day & age! Thank you to my very caring & hospitable server - she made my lunchtime meal more than I could have expected!!! Go try them, Now!

Anyway my plate arrive arrived covered in butter and cheese. Who puts cheese on fries without saying so? So I obviously could not eat any of it. I didn't bother to have them remake it and paid for an un-edible meal but asked her what could I have done differently she said tell us about your allergies and I was like, well I did. I told you I don't eat butter and the cornbread still arrived with the biggest slab of butter I've ever seen. Like wtf? Disappointing. But I will say the pickled vegetables were amazing! 10/10

Upon entering I loved seeing the old wood paneling and green vinyl seats. Such a nostalgic feel to the place. All the staff was super friendly and helpful. Everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy their breakfast and we all left satisfied. I personally had the 2 eggs breakfast with sausage patty with biscuits and gravy. The sausage patty seemed homemade as it didn't have the look or taste of your typical frozen patty. The eggs were cooked to a perfect medium. The biscuits and gravy stole the show. I like to consider myself a connoisseur of biscuits and gravy as I try it at just about every place it's offered and this one might just make the top 3. The biscuit was fluffy and dense but also a little crispy on the outside. The gravy was flavorful and full of sausage, no skimping here. Our waitress was attentive, answered all of our questions, and was great about a few modifications we asked for. Perfect portion for two with a couple topping options. I would go back just for those. I ordered their take on eggs Benedict and my husband had the classic breakfast plate. Both were really flavorful, but the seasoned potatoes were a standout. Portions are generous, we ended up getting two more portions out of the leftovers. Overall, a really fun and memorable brunch spot. I am looking forward to going back for one of the events when they have live music.
