The ceremony was outside, underneath some oak trees (very Savannah-esque actually) and then the reception was inside, which was also very beautiful.

Good food, beautiful, quick-witted waitresses, creepy, mesmerizing interior and a beautiful garden/courtyard. Not too expensive at all. LOVED the indie rock playlist. It's like hanging out in a haunted old mansion with Neon Indian and Part Time playing. I can honestly say that it was one of the most pleasant dinners out I've ever had. Will be back when I'm in New Orleans and will probably stay at the hotel as well. *Restaurant review, did not stay at the hotel!

Built in 1883 during the city's Gilded Age boom, the mansion still carries the atmosphere of another century: towering white columns, chandeliers, creaking staircases, and that unmistakable Southern elegance that modern hotels can't really imitate. The real charm is the setting. Streetcars glide past the front porch all day, and locals still gather here for cocktails under the trees like it's a neighborhood tradition. Inside, the rooms lean historic rather than ultra-modern, but that's part of the appeal. You stay here for character, atmosphere, and the feeling that somewhere in the walls, a century of conversations still lingers. The porch alone is worth the visit. Order a drink, sit beneath the columns, and watch St. Charles Avenue move by slowly. In a city filled with loud spectacle, The Columns Hotel feels refined, cinematic, and timeless.

I want to start by saying how excited I am for the development of the entire Oretha Castle Haley corridor. I think in a year it is going to be one of the hottest areas in the city. It took me a few minutes to actually find this place at first. My good ol' GPS just led me to the 1400 block of OCH and left me to find the actual building on my own. Just a note: it's on a corner and I took a picture of the door, so that you can be on the lookout. The venue itself is lovely. It's a wide open space with a nice bar and plenty of seating. There is gorgeous art on the wall and I like that there is a lot of space to move around. Big selling point: the air conditioning here works like a champ. A lot of times you get into these old buildings, and the ac can't keep up with the space, but that was not the case here. Plenty of windows let in the light during the day, which I am always a fan of; I hate going to dark event spaces during the day and feeling like I'm in a dungeon. There is a stage area where students for Big Class read poems. I presume that other performances take place on the stage as well. There are even some sofas for comfy seating as you enjoy whatever is happening on stage or just mingling with friends. I didn't get to explore it, but there's an upstairs area as well. It should be noted that the building is located on an extremely well lit block, so if you attend an event here at night you should feel pretty safe. I look forward to attending more events here and I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more fundraisers that may be held here.

The venue setting, the service from Jess & her team, the food were all over the top. We had more than 200 guests from 20 different states and when I say everyone had a great experience, I mean GREAT. A high percentage of people were from New York/New Jersey and they never stopped coming up to me to say "we have been to so many weddings at some of the highest-end venues, but this is Best.Wedding.Ever." I have always taught my twin boys that one secret to a happy life is to temper your expectations in order to minimize your disappointments. However, after our tasting visit last August my expectations for this wedding were incredibly high. I told everyone it was going to be both special and magical. Truth is I wasn't even close - the experience blew me away. I told Jess that Elms Mansion had created a memory that will last for so many of our lifetimes. If you are considering a New Orleans wedding, do not look any further than Elms Mansion. I assure you that Jess and your team will make all your dreams come true. Jon

We booked R&R for the three night package, not just for the day of our wedding, and if I were to do it over, I would do it differently. The things they don't tell you: 1. It's VERY loud. The back house (where we stayed), shook when trucks drove past, particularly late at night, and they're driving past ALL THE TIME. So, on the 2 nights I wasn't completely exhausted, I slept VERY POORLY. 2. If you book for more than just your wedding day, and are having people stay there with you, you won't be able to utilize all the gorgeous spaces for your pictures, as people will be in the rooms, getting ready and having their stuff all over... So, our pictures weren't quite as widespread over the venue as I would have liked. Bummer. 3. The window coverings aren't for blackout, so it can be very light in the rooms as you are trying to sleep. For the $500/night per room we paid, one of our guests who had a child, between the light in the room and the noise, had to move out after the first night and get a hotel. BUMMER. So, if I were doing it all over again, I would have the party there, but would retreat back to a different Airbnb, or house, to live the rest of the trip.

Deon & Shaquita's Wedding, Dec 8, 2017; the day it LITERALLY SNOWED in New Orleans, only added to the memories of this auspicious occasion. The venue attendees quickly accommodated for the weather, by way of outdoor heating and covered tents. The cobblestone/brick flooring outside is divine and adds to the over all mystique of the venue. The pond sets the place off to a greater degree. Inside, the upstairs and downstairs decor is astounding. The other areas on the grounds are just as phenomenal. While the food was provided by an outside caterer, it added to the sheer elegance of the event. Great place for a grandiose party, as it'll fit the bill.

I definitely attended a wedding here earlier this month. And it was really fun. I liked that there were different spaces to move through from the main room/bar to the atrium to the outdoor courtyard (a little chilly in November but lovely). The food was really good (made in house) and the staff was friendly and helpful. The wedding was held in the courtyard and the party was throughout the space. The bride and groom said they were great to work with and everything was smooth sailing. As an attendee, it was a lovely space to enjoy.

When a full size band is in the main room, that room becomes excessively loud. Many people choose tommove to the Tree Room ( there are trees in the room). That room is a respite from the noise, but regretfully, it doesn't have many tables for guests to enjoy the food and libation. Rosie's has a nice outdoor patio where there are pub tables, a small stage that had Karaoke the evening we were there. The patio utilized large fans to fight the oppressive heat. Service was excellent. Bars were serving well made drinks. Ambiance is clean and pleasant. Rosie's is a good reception place.
