**This review is based solely on the Service department** Auffenberg Kia is located on I159 in the Auto mart court. I did not purchase my vehicle from this location but its the closest one to me, so I brought Kia in for a diagnostics due to a knocking noise from the engine. It was recommend that my engine getting replaced due to a broken rod inside. I am out of my Kia warranty however I do have an extended warranty. Since my warranty company had to send out their own inspector, Kia had to stay for a few days. Joe arranged a rental for me and kept me updated on the status. Advising me what was needed for the inspector and making copies of Kia's maintenance records. I ended up having to pay for the diagnostics ($180.00) due to my claim being denied. After speaking again with Joe and Kevin (service manager) they both were very helpful on what I needed to appeal the claim. I have been back and forth to Kia over the last 3 months dealing with this, finally getting my claim approved. Joe again made sure to keep me updated on the status Kia's repair. They were more then helpful and Kia got her engine replaced and is running smoothy. At the end of the day.. I will return for any repairs and when looking to purchase Kia a new sibling, spouse or friend. read more

A couple months back, I came in for an engine malfunction to find out it was a bad gas cap which I had replaced. Then they tell me I needed all these fluids changed, a front wheel balance, and that my brakes in the front and rear were at 2mm and 3 mm respectively. Their inspection sheet said I needed $1k of services needing to get done which had me nervous. My car is only 3 years old so I don't understand why it needed all this service right away. I had a schedule to put new brakes in and an oil change since I have an upcoming trip. I had to do what I could in a short amount of time and because I have a full time job where I worked during the times they were open. I see a mechanic friend and he looked at my brakes and said they were still okay and were still way above 2mm and 3mm, so I canceled the brakes being changed. Earlier in the day of the appointment they call me and tell me that they were unable to do 2 out of the 3 services I had scheduled so I ended up just getting an oil change, which was such a bummer because they hadn't informed me ahead of time that they didn't have enough time to do the services. I made the appointment last week, so they had plenty of time to tell me this. Today, I had to go to Dobbs for an alignment instead of making another appointment with them because I simply don't have time to make another one. Dobbs tells me that my alignment was fine too. I just don't understand why they were going to charge me for services I did not need. Not to mention, the dealership also did another inspection during my oil change and said that my front and rear brakes were both now at 2mm. They were telling me that after 2 months, my brakes went down a whole mm? I just don't trust their technicians at all. If you have a Kia, go somewhere else for your yearly maintenance. read more

So we went and bought a new car and we were looking at the cars and the wife like the white one so we were going to get the white Kia trade in our 2016 Sportage for it process took about six hours and at the end of it all they didn't have a white one I had a blue one and they wanted us to take the blue one so we decided we would take the blue one because they offered us five years of free oil changes and tire rotations so we finally agreed to that and got the deal finalized. going over the paperwork we realized they charged us $430 oil changes and tire rotations so I've been talking to a fellow named Corey the last few weeks and have gotten no resolution or response whatsoever so it was decided that we would give them a bad yelp review as they don't understand anything else so when you go to Kia rest assured that they'll be taken care of whether you will or not it's gonna be up to you read more

My daughter purchased a new Kia from this dealership. Sale went good however the service is not going well. We had an appointment for 5pm on November 29th 2022. We had to drive over an hour and ran into a traffic jam. We rolled up at the service door at 5:14 that was blocked. No one came out. I walked in the the servers tech at the desk stayed right away and they said they are closing 5:30. Then he proceeds to argue with me after I told him we had an appointment at 5. I went in the dealership and tried to get help. No manger around. Now the service tech admits they are open till 6 and they took walkins for oil change. Then he proceeds to correct me and said I arrived at 5:20. All three techs sitting there could not be bothered to come out and help. I felt threaten by the tech. No words out of his mouth on how they could help. We now drive one hour home with no oil change. I will take no less than the termination of the tech who made no attempt to help. I have been spoken to like that by a tech from a auto service department. One would think while the three tech's sitting there would pick up the phone at 5:10pm and call to see if we were on the way. We tried calling and could not get a person. So they lied and said they took two walk-in in that 14min. read more

My wife and I spent, that is, wasted three hours at Auffenberg Kia recently. We wanted a Kia Niro PHEV (i.e., plug-in hybrid), and even though we knew that they had none in stock, we wanted to test-drive a regular, non-plug-in Niro. Also, we figured that they could find a plug-in Niro for us at some other dealer, even an out-of-state. Dealers do such thing all of the time. The Honda pickup truck I bought last year was handled in this fashion. Test-drive went fine. Person we were dealing with, Katye Elbert, was friendly and quite likeable, but by her own admission, she knew little about hybrids. BEFORE any price was accepted by us or EVEN offered to us, she began collecting information from us for a credit check. Why?! Katye could not find our desired color plug-in Niro despite a nationwide search online. I found one immediately on my cellphone in North Carolina, a state we visit often, and from where we could have picked it up ourselves. But, Auffenberg Kia was going to charge us $800-1000 to have it trailed here! FINALLY, a second person, a true-blue salesperson came in and showed us a price for the Niro in NC, including the transport fee. We felt the value of our trade-in was too low. (While Katye had previously asked for the key for our trade-in for someone to drive and evaluate it, the vehicle was never driven or even looked at except for a cursory, quick look by Katye immediately after our test-drive of the Niro.) We made a counter-offer. He got up to, I guess, talk to the sales manager, and I thought would come back with another price. He never came back. As we were leaving, he met us in the showroom and then started explaining that their service technicians couldn't work on plug-in Niros anyway. What?! This was verified by Katye actually running into the open service bay doors to ask if they could work on a Kia Niro PHEV. (She had briefly stopped us as we were outside the building heading for our car.) After three hours, they finally told us that they don't work on plug-in Niros???!!! They, including the sales manager all knew that we wanted this type of Niro when we got there. It was the first thing that we told them. It was a completely frustrating waste of our time. They should have been honest and told us about their inability to work on plug-in Niros in the first place . . . which according to several other dealers contacted afterwards is completely false. Auffenberg Kia personnel acted as if they didn't want to get us the Niro we wanted from another dealer and just used the supposed inability to work on that type of Niro as a flimsy excuse. We were disappointed and angry about our experience with Auffenberg Kia sales staff. As other reviewers have indicated, the sales staff are quite helpful, but I'm sure that it's only if the car is on their lot or is relatively easy to obtain from another dealer. In our case, they didn't want go the extra mile to sell a vehicle to us. read more

I purchased two used vehicles and had to return all three of them my. Yes 3... the first one we purchased had 45 K miles and had to be returned the next day when the engine light came on. They fixed that. The second vehicle we drove off the lot and had to return it and was told to select another vehicle as this one had "issues." The third vehicle, my family member drove off the lot and started driving to school in Michigan. There was a rattling that we inspected as he was driving up to school. In three weeks he called to tell us it was not just leaking but antifreeze fluid, but was pouring out of the tank. He took it to a mechanic and the tank and serpentine belt are both bad. $1400-$1700 to fix. We called Auffenberg and they won't help us even though it has been less than 30 days. I have been so happy with the service department at Auffenberg, until today! We had a warranty repair that went great. They called and asked if I wanted extra services done such as coolant and antifreeze, etc. I said yes, go ahead. I changed my mind and immediately called back to cancel. Well, I was on hold for fifteen minutes. I hung up and called back, thinking I could explain to them that I needed to get a note to the mechanic to cancel the service, and was put on hold another fifteen minutes! In the meantime, they finished a quite expensive service. Had the care representative come to the phone when paged, this would not have happened. Very unhappy about the way they run their department. I had heard shady things about Auffenberg, but I decided to take a chance and buy my new car there. Overall the buying experience wasn't bad, but their customer service is horrible. We've had our BRAND NEW, 2016 Kia Sorrento for 8 months. I noticed that the tires were getting really loud and took it in for service. They told me that the tires were "chopped" very badly, and that's caused by not rotating the tires regularly or keeping the proper pressure in them. I told them I've rotated the tires twice already, with the first oil change and with the third, and i always keep the tires inflated to the proper pressure. It had to be an alignment issue and they just weren't going to do anything about it. They said since I was over 12,000 miles already (all highway miles) that there was nothing they could do about it because it's considered "normal wear and tear". They said to get an alignment, rotate the tires, and they'll smooth themselves out in time and it will be fine. I went to my regular mechanic, and he said not only was the alignment REALLY bad, but that it had to have been that way when I bought it for all of my tires to be so badly worn. He also said my tires are ruined. So basically I have a car that is only 8 months old that had a messed up alignment and I have to buy new tires. Their service department lies to you, and they don't stand behind their product. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! read more

I bought a 2016 Kia Soul at Auffenberg, selecting this dealership after talking to one other dealership and checking the inventories online. I was replacing a totalled 2012 Soul -- after seeing how safe that car kept me in a wreck, I was going to replace it with exactly the same thing. I worked with sales manager Alex Branum and felt like he gave me all the information I needed, didn't try to steer me, and could answer all my questions clearly. He understands the car well. I had questions about maintenance (on the 2016 vs what I was used to on the 2012) and on tire size and replacement cost (the car I was settling on had larger 18" wheels) and he took me to the parts department manager and the service department to ask those questions -- and meet the staff -- and get clear answers. Kudos there. I had a lot of questions on the pricing, and he was able to negotiate a bit, enough to get the price more in the range I was looking for. (Don't trust what's posted on the website for prices and dealer discounts -- I think every dealer does this, rolling all possible discounts in even if you wouldn't qualify and then showing that as the discount. It is misleading.) After I completed the purchase, Alex drove the car down the Enterprise rental office for me so I could return the rental I had and just leave from there. Very helpful. I feel he really did everything possible to make the experience honest and easy. Highly recommended. read more

BUYER BEWARE! The *NTSB* Lists 211 current recalls on KIA Products. Most of the positive reviews for this dealership are by people who just bought a brand new car. Whereas the bad reviews are from people who have owned their KIA long enough to discover that the product sold to them was of inferior quality, and the service was expensive or non-existent. My wife and I purchased a brand new Kia Sorrento off the lot at Auffenberg Kia. Almost immediately we noticed a buzzing noise coming from the drivers side front end. After 4 separate trips back to the dealership over almost a year, the head mechanic had finally gathered enough information from the other dealerships to fix the noise. In his own words "Sorry but there was a piece of plastic that was improperly installed at the factory, so we sprayed foam into the front fender assembly to seal the piece that was loose". Our Kia Sorrento currently has 80k Miles on it and has never been driven off-road, which conveniently puts it out of our warranty. Recently our Sorrento developed another sound in drivers side front fender. After taking it back to the Auffenberg Dealership we were told that the front drivers side coil spring had rusted through and broke. This spring is made out of 3/4 inch diameter steel. According to the mechanic that fixed it (Auffenberg KIA refused to do anything unless we paid them $2140.00) "This coil spring should never break under normal driving conditions." Two front coil springs, two front struts, and a front end alignment later we are out $1600.00. Our mechanic informed us that he has seen numerous Kia Sorrento's and Optima's with the same common failing. In addition both models are under a current recall involving the transmission slipping out of park randomly, and improperly machined engine bearings that can cause the engine to seize up. CONCLUSION: KIA stands for Korean International Auto. Where do you think they get the steel to build these vehicles. If you guessed CHINA, then you are probably correct. Based upon the lack of interest in the dealership's management to help rectify this situation, and on the advise of our mechanic, we will never buy another KIA product again. I am sure that after reading this review, the dealer will have something rosy to say about how they would like to help me with this situation. Don't believe a word of it. Smile for the camera after you buy your new KIA, Chances are it will be the last time you are happy with your purchase. CAVEAT EMPTOR! read more
