The only person that made an effort was a gentleman named John Hollenkamp who offered to bring the car and paperwork to our house. Thanks for ruining the surprise Auffenberg but thank you John Hollenkamp, you understand service he is why there is a single star. Don't buy a car here unless you can spend a day waiting to pay cash. Part 2 We reached out to them 3 times for paperwork on service history they promised to copy and deliver..no response. We went to get the car inspected and it failed due to fuel pump 1700. They told us we were getting gaslighted by the folks who have serviced our cars for years who also provided the diagnostic testing (which cost me 200). They recommend we get a second opinion (another 200) or that with full trust we bring it back to them, where they would also charged me a diagnostic fee (probably another 200) and then charge us likely 1600-1700 for the repair. This by far has been the worst customer experience of my life. These people understand exactly what they are doing...I literally felt like I was talking to Danny Divito in Matilda. The gentleman I spoke to John Hollenkamp said hey if you got it inspected within the first 7 days it would have passed . Like what? They didn't give us a second set of keys which we also called multiple times about without a response. a 16 year old with one key and a push button start...we didn't want him to drive it until we had a second set. I brought my Nissan in for a recall repair and to have an oil leak fixed, my Nissan was still under warranty. They told me it would be over $100 for them to look; but then they lifted my car and looked at and video recorded the underside being careful not to video the oil leak area. Then they fraudulently tried to claim my transmission pan was leaking when I could clearly see the oil leaked down from a higher spot on the motor and some of it got on the transmission pan. They also claimed my transmission fluid was dirty and needed to be changed not knowing I had it changed less than a week earlier. read more

I've been having issues with my Nissan rogue ever since I purchased it in 2023 brand new. They refuse to fix my radio because they couldn't figure out why it wasn't working, finally I got videos of it not working while driving, so they ordered parts last year to complete work. Fast forward, its back to not working properly and I was told since it's been a year I will have to now pay to have it looked at. So, my truck is there now due to the seatbeat alarm not going off, it dings while driving it even though my seatbelt would be locked in place. To top it off, I was told that it was ready for pickup yesterday and then the manager said no the parts isn't here to fix it. No one there is ever on the same page, they tell you different things, they tried to get me to pay for work that already had been paid for a couple of months ago. I asked about my history, and they said they could not find it; I had my whole truck towed there and yet they played dumb. Finally, my history magically shows up in the computer and they see it. Just now, Customer service says they can't give out ext. for you to talk to the managers when you call (Cierra) was the young lady who just answered the phone and refuse to give me number to call manager. I know cars gives us problems new or used but to be rude and spiteful is another thing, Auffenberg Nissan in Shiloh Illinois is the worst dealership, they are very nice until you purchase it then that's when the rudeness kicks in. Auffenberg dealer group in general is very hit or miss, but Auffenberg Nissan never misses an opportunity to disappoint. Easily the most painful dealership to deal with. I do love the consistency of never returning phone calls, mailboxes that are full, damage done during service, and overall poor communication. We bought our vehicle brand new and have done all service on time and they had the nerve to offer us less than KBB "fair" market value (we weren't even looking to trade just allowed them to provide a quote on last service). The Awfulberg experience? I'm sure the Auffenberg children grew up being mocked by being called Awful-berg but my recent experience with them in sales was truly remarkable in a negative way. We had an appointment 45 minutes prior to our arrival and we met Chris (1 of 3) and didn't have a last name so they had to track down the right person. The car was covered with mud rain that could have been cleaned prior to our arrival, no we ended up driving it through their company car wash! There was some hail damage but the real problem was 6 systems failure lights on the dashboard that the company had no intention of fixing including the Cruise Control! They cut the price but were showing it even though they knew the camshaft was not properly functioning! Let the buyer beware! What else was wrong with the car that we didn't know? The salesman did not even know what half of the lights meant, we had to ask the questions! Filthy broken down car they had no intention of fixing! Who buys a car without the Cruise Control working? Caveat emptor! This is why Used Car sellers have a bad reputation! read more

I purchased a used car at Auffenburg Nissan in November of 2025. At the time of purchase we were told it had passed all inspections and that we had an auto loan through Capital One. Within a day of purchase the drivers side window would not roll down. I was told to come in the following week for it to be fixed. When I arrived the salesman that had scheduled my appointment was not present and no one had been informed of my appointment. I sat at the dealership for 4 hours only to be told that this visit was only for diagnostics and a part would need to be ordered. I waited 2 weeks with no communication before I contacted the salesman I had worked with. He reported the part had arrived the following week and that an appointment could be scheduled. When I came back I was again met with confusion and the salesman was not present. I waited another 4 hours for the window to be fixed, even the front desk staff began to question the length of time that I was there. At the same time I began to worry as I hadn't ever received a bill or a notice from the credit company concerning the car. I contacted Capital One and was told that my auto loan had never been approved. It the took 3 days of emails, voicemails, and unanswered text messages before someone was willing to take my call at Auffenburg. Then when on the phone with them they reported no knowledge of the auto loan not being approved. Now I'm a state a way and the same window that was 'fixed' in December is broken again. Auffenburg refused to send me a copy of the invoice of the part and another dealership was unable to find any proof that work had been done on the car. This dealer explained that all work done on warranty should be documented and only when a vehicle is taken to a stand alone mechanic would it not be documented. I strongly encourage anyone to shop elsewhere, I would not wish this level of disrespect on anyone. And to Auffenburg, have the respect and the decency to follow through, and for the love of all things hold your staff accountable. The only reason that I'm giving a 1 star review is because I can't give you a 0 star review. Do better. read more

We called the dealer this morning to make sure the Toyota Tundra they showed online was still in stocked and we were told it was in stock, so we drove to the dealership. When we were there, we waited for someone to help us and when we told the salesperson what we were looking for he said the truck had been sold. They have thousands of vehicles on the lot and the sales person didn't check inventory, just automatically was able to tell us that the truck we were looking for was no longer there. We left, called the dealer back and were told again it was still in stock. This is a big organization you would think they would know what vehicles they have on their lots. I purchased a new vehicle, a Nissan Kicks, on this past November. I had not purchased a vehicle in 13 yrs. I was unaware that a spare tire was not a part of my new vehicle until I got a screw in my right passenger tire and overheard the service technician tell the service advisor that my car does not come with a spare or even a doughnut. Now I'm looking at purchasing a replacement tire for $380 because the service advisor informed me that the tire couldn't be fixed due to the screw's location. He offered to rent me a car for $80/ day. I angrily refused the offer and drove away with the screw in my tire. I contacted my nephew who works at a tire and auto shop in St. Louis. I took my car to him, and that is when we discovered that it was a screw in my tire. It was removed with no patching necessary. The service supervisor texted me regarding my service experience. I informed him about what happened as I questioned the integrity of Auffenberg's Service dept. He told me that he wanted to make sure that the service performed was to my satisfaction. As previously stated I told him about my experience, and he replied that the service advisor or technicIan had no way of knowing that it was a screw and upon replacing the tire it would have been discovered and I would not have needed a new tire replacement. I know that I am a female and have limited knowledge about cars, but my trust in Auffenberg's integrity is little to none. After all of this occurred I contacted my salesman and told him that he should have told me that the Nissan Kicks 2026 do not come with a spare/doughnut. He told me that I did not ask. I responded that a car having a spare is so common that I didn't think to ask. He told me that there is a tire repair kit and that Auffenberg would provide towing if I ever needed. I never a clear response as to why a customer can pay $31,000 for a new car and a spare tire is not included. The service advisor and the salesman told me that they didn't no why. The service technician mentioned something about the weight of the vehicle. Needless, to say this was definitely a negative experience. read more

Just bought a 2025 frontier truck. They tried to stick us with high interest, 790 credit score. Then the finance lady would not take the answer of no when trying to sell us extra protection. She even tried scare tactics. Telling us how much the electronics would cost if they went out. Was she trying to tell us the truck was a lemon. Then got upset because she added another fee of 50 cents a day. We told her no again and she really got mad. I enjoyed the young man selling the truck. I purchased a 2019 Nissan Rogue SL - Certified Pre-Owned SUV on 1 April 2022. Customer No: 1580971, Deal No: 715780. As a CPO vehicle it was supposedly fully serviced and had undergone a bumper-to-bumper inspection as well. On 20 June 2022 - I had my serviced just 90 days after its purchase from Auffenderg Nissan and the service technicians at Orr Nissan in Wichita, Kansas changed the oil & completed a tire rotation service. They checked and both the engine and cabin filters had not been changed for 'years' they were filthy with dust and insects! Certainly not changed by Auffenberg NIssan as part of the CPO process that supposedly conducted on my SUV just three months earlier. See the photos of the dirty filters below. I reached out to the finnace manager Jacques Hughes via email outlining my situation and left multiple messages for the sales department and NEVER recieved any response. The bill for my fliter changes was about $100 dollars and want to be reimbursed for the costs, as Auffenberg DID NOT CHANGE the filters as part of the CPO inspection, when they should have been changed prior to my purchase as part of the CPO inspection and service process. I cannot recommend purchasing or having your vehicle serviced at this dealership, after reading several of the reviews. When I addressed this with the service manager they said "too bad" and even though I drove the car there and not it is undrivable, its not their fault. Terrible customer service. After purchasing from them, two weeks later, the vehicle wasn't driving correctly. We brought it in to have it looked at. It sat there for one week with nothing done. They transferred it to a gmc dealer where it sat there for two weeks with nothing done. No one would call us for updates on the vehicle and when we called about it, no one would call us back. They started screening our calls. Even though we have a warranty, we have to take it somewhere else. The only good thing I will say is they did let us have a vehicle to use while the truck was in the shop, but it's pretty frustrating when you have to make your first payment when you don't even have the vehicle you bought. read more

Damage caused by Auffenberg Nissan technician! I DO NOT recommend Auffenberg Nissan service!! I took my Infiniti in for brake service on all four wheels. While servicing, the technician managed to crash into the building and damage both the rear bumper and the front bumper (see pics). Not sure how that much damage can be done while attempting to back out of a service bay. It took over three weeks to get the bumpers replaced and repainted. I had to request status on the progress since communication was almost non-existent. For the inconvenience, they only took $100 off the bill which is UNDER 10%! Each time appointments have been made I end up still being behind 5+ cars because they don't care about appointments, they care about what car comes in first. I live in Mt. Vernon, so its an hour drive, I made an appointment for Saturday at 10:40. I get there and told it's going to be 2 HOURS before they get to mine, which I then asked if I have an appointment why would these cars that don't have one that are "before me" now go first. He didn't have an answer, so I asked about getting a "rental" car for a few hours so we could go to the mall and out to eat while we wait, they wanted to charge me 30 dollars!!! I received an email from Auffenburg that it was time for service. I was able to select my vehicle 2019 rogue and a list of services came up for my vehicle. I chose one and made the appointment. When I got there today I was told my car HAD to have synthetic oil. I asked well if it HAS to have that, and I chose the option under my vehicle isn't that what I should be getting. They said no that's just regular oil. Ummm I picked MY vehicle and that was an option. So I would assume that was an option created for my vehicle since I was under MY vehicle choosing options. The price for the option I chose was 65.90 so I assumed it was correct. They said no it will be 90 plus tax for everything but that's with a 10.00 of coupon. I'm sorry but you absolutely just lost a customer. Unfortunate because my buying experience there was good. I feel that this was a shady way to bring in customers. I bought a car a few months ago. A Nissan Altima 2017, used. The person who sold us the car was great. I have a complaint about the people who services my car. First, my car was sold to me without a front license plate holder. In Illinois is it a requirement to have a front license plate. I bought the car on a monday and the person who sold us the car made us an appointment that friday to get the plate holder. (told us it was no cost). During that week i noticed a few things with the car. The windshield wiper fluid was horrible, made my windshield blurry, couldn't even see. Then my mother noticed a spot on our driveway (a yellow spot). It was from my car. When that Friday rolled around, I went to get my plate holder, and they said we had to pay????? So then we disregarded the whole plate, why would i pay, when it should have been on thier? So then I had told the service person at the desk about the leak, and he said "it might be water. I'm no idiot but i didn't think water dried yellow. They told me they can do a hundred dollar diagnostic on the car. My mom obviously was going to pay for it because who wants their kid driving a car leaking that fluid? Anyway they looked at my car and guess what! It was an oil leak. Now if we would have trusted the guy it was "water", i would have been driving with an oil leak. Luckily since we just had purchased the car, we didn't have to pay because of the 3 month warranty. I bought a car from Auffenberg Nissan. Some parts of the experience I was happy with, others I was not. I went to Auffenberg because I wanted to look at the Nissan Altima and believe it or not, this was the only Nissan dealer in the St. Louis area open in the evening during the week, and since I was in a crunch time was, this was a necessity. Dustin greeted us, listened to what I was looking for, and showed us some cars. He was happy to let us test drive the 2.5L and the 3.5L Altima on the interstate, and he even let us drive far before coming back. He was very passionate about the cars, and his excitement shone through as he pointed out all the different features on the car. In the days after my visit, I found myself wanting the Nissan, even more than the car I had been saying I was going to get to replace my old one for the past year or so. So in that sense, Dustin did a very good job as a salesman. He was knowledgeable, passionate, and really able to get me interested in the car. My situation was a bit unique. As I mentioned, I was in a time crunch. I came to the dealership on a Thursday evening, and just a few days later I was going to be out of the country for 3 weeks. Dustin told me he would work with me to make the sale without my being there. This was important because when I went, I was able to get $6000 off the regular price due to a sale they were having. I later lost out on $1000 of that, but that was my fault. I tried calling him minutes before boarding my flight to tell him I'd take it, but I couldnt reach him, costing me the $1000. I was generally ok with that, because it allowed me to think about it more; I was largely rushing into what seemed like a good decision, but one I may have regretted. I left a message for him telling him I'd take the car. Unfortunately, the message wasnt enough. He needed my credit card number and a few other things, none of which he mentioned when I visited the dealership. This was the beginning of the downturn. Another strange thimg is that when I was at the dealership discussing price, apparently he had a very long list of groups or organizations or whatever and if you are part of one or can claim one, you get a different (lower?) price for the car. For example, if you are in the military, you get a different (lower?) price. Silly me, I thought it would cost the same regardless. I dont fault him, as I think this is the dealership, or perhaps all dealerships. Anyway, I thought about it for a few more days and eventually decided (again) this was the car for me. I emailed him saying I wanted it and he told me the info he needed and I gave it to him. I put down a deposit/down payment on the car. It was good. Eventually I returned to the US. I wasnt real anxious to pick up the car because I had a lot to get caught up on after being gone. After a few days of being back, Dustin called me and said I had to come in and take delivery of the car on a particular day or I would lose the other $5000 off the sale price. Unfortunately he told me this with very little lead time, and he insisted on being there. The end result was I had to drive there in a snowstorm to take delivery on this particular day. I was not happy. When I got there, things got worse. They told me that I had to finance the car through them to get the agreed upon price. I had made my own arrangements of how to pay, so although it worked out ok, I thought this was a bit strange. Then they kept asking me all these other questions about other things I might want. Did I want an extended warranty? Auto Butler? I think they asked about something else too. Of course, I had to decide on each of these things right then and there, and nobody had ever mentioned them to me. I got the extended warranty; I normally wouldnt but Consumer Reports said some very bad things about the car, and although I asked Dusting about them he had no idea what they were talking about, I figured I should get the extra protection in case it turned out to be a lemon. If nothing else, I figure some nonessential thing is likely to stop working while the warranty is still valid. Then he asked about Auto Butler. Auto Butler is a detailing service. They do both the interior and exterior. As for the exterior, it leaves the car looking brand new. Nice. The problem is that they present it like all Nissan dealers do this. They dont. The only CAR dealers in the St. Louis area that offer Auto Butler are Auffenberg and West County Honda; the next closest place is in Paducah, KY. So you have to take it to one of them. However, Auffenberg is the only one that does the interior work. I live 38 miles from Auffenberg, on the opposite side of the city. So its a major pain to take the car there. Bottom line, dont get Auto Butler. Also, make sure you ask about extras when you visit. You dont want to be surprised when you are ready to sign on the dotted line. read more

The sales department and especially the internet sales department conducts themselves by misleading and misrepresenting the quoted price and once you get into the dealership you find out about previously undisclosed dealer add on's that inflate the price in my case by like $1,900!. Took our 2015 Murano in with the check engine light after having Meineke check it. Meineke tested it and stated the sensor indicated a bad oxygen sensor then tested the sensor and it was working. A few days later the engine light came on again and took it to Auffenberg. They tested it and stated they adjusted the computer and it was done ($158). Next day, engine light on again so took it back to Auffenberg. They wanted over $800 to replace the oxygen sensor. I left and got it fixed at Meineke fo half the cost. Major disappointment with Auffenberg. read more

I bought a brand new Nissan Rogue on September 27, '22 and I purchased the extra coverage called the "Premiere Coverage Plan", that supposedly covers EVERYTHING, their words! they sell this at a very high price thru EG Assurance, it covers roadside assistance along with all the car stuff. i set up an account right away, happy i got no worries. last night i got a flat tire on the highway. I attempted to contact them but it said I had the wrong log in blah blah, I couldn't reset... so I called my insurance company for help. this morning I called EG Assurance at the phone number listed for a replacement of my flat tire; they said they offer that coverage but even with the most expensive premier coverage package I bought, it doesnt cover tires!! Soooo... not sure what you must do to get that part that is above premiere, but keep this in mind & know they are pushing you spend the extra $2800 for ALL this extra coverage, but you aren't really covered for EVERYTHING. read more

We are a 17 year dedicated Nissan buyer having purchased 4 new vehicles over that time. That ends today, with thanks to Auffenberg. An intermittent driver seat heater repair was the issue of all things. Our 2016 Murano developed the intermittent problem while the vehicle was still under factory warranty. When the heater control module finally failed, the warranty had expired. Auffenberg wouldn't cover the repair under warranty and didn't offer any kind of repair discount. This is a $1500 repair. We had to get Nissan Corp involved. They willingly agreed to pay 80% of the repair cost. Auffenberg couldn't even do that in a customer service sensitive manner. They 'forgot' that I had paid the original $145 diagnostic fee before calculating the 80/20 split. An omission that cost me $100+ extra. Small money, but it's the thought that counts. read more

Auffenberg Nissan has one particular salesperson named Amber Klear who is amazing. I went in today to see the new Maxima and she was the first person to greet me and invite me in the dealership. We talked awhile about what I was looking for in a Maxima and at no time did she try to force the buying process on me. She was extremely patient and helpful. Buying the car was easy, but the service is not. Every time my daughter goes to get her oil changed there's always something that is wrong according to the service department. We bought the package for oil change and tire rotation for her car so she didn't have to worry about paying for it while in college, but something else always has to be done. Today she had an appointment for 3, but two hours later it still wasn't done! So she had to change plans around because of this. We understand that things can happen and can run behind, but when she returned to get her car after six o'clock the service tech was very rude to her. That is uncalled for! read more

Every time I come here there seems to be a lack of interest from the employees. When I purchased my car in September of 2014, I ran into some problems. One month after I purchased my vehicle the battery had to be replaced and I was told that there was nothing that could be done, after my complaining the replaced the battery for free. They also had to replace my brakes because it turns out they were bad, and it was a safety issue. How did they not know the battery and brakes were bad? Today I brought my car in for regular maintenance, and I wanted to speak to someone about trading my car in for a newer model. Well that didn't go so well because no one offered to help me. There were several sales people sitting in the show room where I was and not one offered to help me. They were all on their cell phones. I even sat in three of the vehicles, walked around and still no help....at all. Needless to say I am not trading my car in at this location. Very horrible customer service! You would think I learned my lesson when I purchased my car last year, but everyone deserves a second chance. read more

I have had the worse experience ever in my life with this place. I had my car towed there a month ago because it broke down. I find out I needed a new engine which is ridiculous because I got my car from this same place a year ago, so there is no way in the world I should need a new engine in a year right? I have a 3 yr. warranty on my car & it took them a whole month to do a job that takes about 16 hours to do & my car still was not fixed properly. My radio does not come on anymore & my signal lights do not make a clicking noise anymore. Also I was charged $463 for a loaner that they basicly forced me to keep because they were stalling with fixing my car. When they were going to bring my car around to me, they couldn't drive it because the battery was dead. They had my car for a whole month & did not know the battery was dead when I go to pick it up, which caused me to have to purchase a battery & brought my total charge to $665. It took them 2 hours to replace the battery. Also after my car sat at their dealership for a whole month, my tire was low. They didn't have the decency to check everything to make sure it's working properly or put air in my tire. I really, truly hate this place & the staff is so unorganized & inexperienced, it's ridiculous. I hope I never have to go back to auffenberg for anything ever again & I do not recommend anyone to buy a car from this company or use their services. They are horrible!!! read more

Worse Customer Service Ever I went into Auffenberg after looking on truecar.com and seeing that they honor the truecar pricing also before I went in I was told by several people from their company as well that the company does indeed honor true car pricing which they contatcted me I never contacted them. To make a long story short after my test drive the sales manager told me out of his own mouth that the compay does not honor truecar pricing and this was their way of getting customers to come in to get a car he also told me that the company pays truecar to throw number on their website to make the company look good.this compay is very untrustworthy and misleading I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone read more

I recently got my 2015 Nissan Altima services at Auffenberg. Travis was great! He always takes care of me when I go in for service. While I was waiting for service I got to catch up with my favorite Nissan sales person John Hollenkamp. He always asks how my family is doing and how the Altima is treating me. This is the 2nd nissan I have purchased form Auffenberg and I wouldn't go anywhere else for service or to get my next Nissan! 5 stars! read more
