The location is incredibly convenient--just minutes from the Juneau International Airport and with easy access to all the main roads. Whether you're coming in for sightseeing, business, or outdoor activities, this hotel serves as a perfect hub. We drove by the Super 8 and the Wyndham Travel Lodge and each looked sketchy. Juneau doesn't have a wide selection of hotels, and Aspen Suites clearly sets itself apart. It was, by far, the cleanest and friendliest property we encountered. The rooms are well-maintained, and the staff does an excellent job keeping everything spotless. One of the big advantages is that the hotel offers air conditioning--something not all places in Juneau have, which can be a big plus during the warmer months. Also the Kitchenette allowed us to shop for food and save on "eating out". The hotel also features a large, clean, and well-equipped laundry room, which is incredibly useful if you're on an extended trip or coming back from Alaskan adventures in need of fresh clothes. The front desk staff was helpful and courteous, and while the building has three floors, there are elevators and multiple luggage carts available to make check-in and check-out smooth and efficient. If you're visiting Juneau, I highly recommend considering a suite at Aspen. The extra space and amenities make a big difference, especially after a day of exploring. Overall, this hotel delivers comfort, convenience, and great service--all at a very reasonable value.

Not a big deal. Very cozy, good area, no alcohol (which wasn't too much of a deal breaker) However, they're lenient with the hours of return, if you decide to go out and experience the night life. No AC! *but they were so nice to bring us a fan and other things we need to make it…read morecomfortable** From the outside, especially when you're driving in from the highway, the back of the building honestly looks a little intimidating and made us wonder what to expect. "Did we really booked this? It's more expensive than Marriott!". I almost reached out my phone to look for another known hotel. Thankfully, the interior is a completely different story--modern, clean, and updated. The location is beautiful, right across from the marina with all the boats and yachts, so the room has a really nice waterfront view. That said, there are a few things future guests should know. The biggest issue is that there is no air conditioning in the room. Ours reached 79°F, and even with the windows open it stayed warm. Opening the windows also means you'll hear constant traffic since the hotel sits along a very busy road. Between the heat and the road noise, it wasn't the most comfortable night's sleep. We even had to turn the TV volume all the way up to 100 just to hear it over the traffic. The room's design is very minimalist, but it sacrifices functionality. The closet is small and doesn't have a hanging rod for coats, so our bulky jackets ended up draped over chairs. *they did give me hangers and we found a pipe to hang our coats** It could definitely use more shelving and storage space. Another odd design choice is the placement of the refrigerator right next to the bed--you can only open the refrigerator door about halfway before it hits the bed. Overall, I appreciate the renovation, the clean modern look, and the marina views. However, the lack of air conditioning, constant road noise, and impractical room layout made it difficult to fully enjoy our stay. If I had known that we have to open our windows throughout our stay, I would have never booked.

We had a balcony ocean view room which does face the street. I found my noise cancelling earbuds completely tuned out any traffic noise, Hubby used ear plugs and we both had no trouble sleeping, especially on the very comfortable king bed. The traffic dies down later at night. The rooms have updated contemporary decor. The price is more reasonable than some other hotels, perhaps due to the location being a 10 minute walk to downtown and the potential noise if you face the front of the hotel.

Casey and Carson were our fishing guides and they excelled. Mikaila and I may have spelled her name wrong is a delight as the host in the dining room and a participant in the polar plunge. As a side not Darryl wrote a book about a lodge in Alaska called "The Safe Choice" that is excellent reading for anyone that has a business or just wants to learn how to properly treat people in life. I highly recommend making a reservation to go there next year as it sells out quickly.

We had an amazing time on all the excursions, including lots of deep sea fishing, seeing the glacier up close, watching humpback whales and orcas and seal lions and seals, hiking, flyfishing, and more. The food was great! Very tasty, unique, but not too unique, if you know what I mean. And lots of it! The accommodations were superb. I don't know if I've ever stayed anywhere with a better shower! You wouldn't think they would have really hot water and great water pressure at so remote a location, but they did. And I mention that, not just because I like my showers, but because it was emblematic of the attention to detail in every aspect of the experience. In can't recommend Pybus Point Lodge enough!

We decided on the 3.5 hour "Juneau Highlights and Mendenhall Glacier Tour" offered by M&M tours, especially since they offered a less expensive cost when paying with cash: $105 per person. Instructions on where to wait for our bus were clear; the process was organized and smooth. Our tour guide, Kenny, was informative. Our blue bus was very spacious and comfortable. We spent 2 hours at Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center where we were able to take a quick hike, view Nugget Falls, and see Mendenhall Glacier in the background. The Juneau Highlights were driving through Brotherhood Park, Douglas Island, and Breaching Whale Park (home of Takhu," a cool 40-foot sculpture depicting a breaching whale). Overall, we had a good time on this tour and we're glad to have chosen it.

First of all it's not clear that the tent sites do NOT have their own area. It's kind of just a bunch of tent areas. Also each tent site does NOT have a table or it's own fire ring. The tables, water, fire ring are all shared. The website's map shows that the group camping is further down but it's all in one place. This would have been maybe ok except that I was the sole camper camping with a massive group of teenagers. All of their stuff was everywhere. The group had taken over the entire area. I would have had to constantly ask them to move stuff just to eat my food or use a surface to cook. You know what's cheaper? Mendenhall campground. It also has very clean very free showers, your own site and it's close to a laundromat. If you're by yourself or just a few people go to Mendenhall. If you're a giant group then Nalu might be for you.

The lodge is small but that's what makes it so awesome. No more than 40 people there at a time. Family style dinner served in the lodge offering grilled salmon was delicious. The herb biscuits were wow. Got the recipe to make later. Got a visit from the local bear, Hans. He sat in the tree by the grill patiently waiting until we all went inside and was allowed to climb down. Had a small souvenir shop and a short trail walk if you chose to do so. Lodge overlooked the Taku glacier. Awesome place. Flight back was a little shorter but offered different views and more flyovers of different glaciers. Highly recommend.
