This review is for the actual hotel. There are very few hotel options in the Juneau area, and there are even fewer options up to my standards. Haha. I stumbled across this gem on TripAdvisor. Best Western isn't a brand I'd usually gravitate toward, but this location does not disappoint. First things first, it's clean! It reminds me of a small town bed and breakfast; there's even a free breakfast included every day. The attention to detail you'd normally experience at a bed and breakfast is here. The staff is friendly, informative, and attentive. The rooms are spacious and unique. The location is super close to the airport and roughly 9 miles from downtown. I'd make this my first choice when staying in the area again. read more

This is a fantastic place to stay. It's charming as heck. All the rooms are custom designed and significantly different. The foods really good and the staff is incredibly polite and helpful. I'll definitely come back! The only issue I had was with our room which had a unique French door feature. The doors served no purpose and got in the way of the nightstand access. They made the room feel cluttered and smaller. We'll just request a different room next time. Other than that minor issue, everything was great! read more

Super duper cute hotel. Has a B&B atmosphere. Staff are nice. It's very quiet. I slept like a baby. The breakfast area is small but cute. They require reservations for breakfast and they can bring it to your room. Coffee is in your room...it's ample. And they have complimentary water and snacks in the dining area. Shuttle service is great. The max time we had to wait is 5 min. Would definitely recommend! Stay here! read more

It's rare I'm really thrilled about a hotel, but this one is adorable. Love the architecture. Pulling up it just looks cool. Super close to the airport and you're pretty close to the glacier. The tub/shower is inside the room, and it's HUGE, which was easily my favorite part. Their beds are all queen; there's not an option for a king. The feather bed thing isn't a lie - you may or may not be poked by feather quills when you roll over. The toilet is separated by a door, and the bathroom was always freezing cold during our stay - the only downside. Breakfast is included for two. You can order up to three options off the menu for no charge. Their breakfast is pretty solid, though if you ask for cheese on your omelet, it'll be microwaved. Staff is super friendly. I had asked about an 8-12 mi route to run during the day and the front desk woman suggested a ~10mi loop, then told me if I got too cold or too tired that I could call and have their shuttle pick me up. The rooms are small, but cozy. May not be the best choice for a work trip as there is no desk and the table is tiny, but for a getaway weekend, it was perfect. read more

Small, & the tub/shower is right in the same room as the bed/kitchenette, but I wasn't feeling well, & really didn't mind. It was very clean, cozy & quaint! Things you need to know... Quaint hotel/B&B that is out of the center of town on the road to Mendenhall glacier. They have shuttles to get you around. The food is fine but nothing to write home about. For me, The plus was sleeping on one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on. (It was the great balance of soft/firm). And, the room had character and was large (with a love seat, fringe, table, chairs). The negative was the bathroom. A very deep jacuzzi tub doubled as the shower - difficult to enter and exit. AND it was open to the rest of the room. Kind of awkward. The separate room with the toilet was the size of an airplane lavatory but with thinner walls. I would definitely recommend this place but might try a room other than 207. read more

We came this visit for their restaurant. Their thousand island salad dressing is homemade and creamy. Their soup was overly salty, my large portion of halibut was overcooked and overly salty. My partner's large rib eye steak had several bits of unedible gristle, overly salty. It is a nice older hotel with great character and a comfortable beds. Some of the rooms had lights coming through the windows and low ceilings so be careful if you are a tall person to request a none platform bedroom. Really unique place to stay while visiting Juneau Pros: - Comfortable beds - Clean room and property - Friendly and helpful staff - Food they serve is delicious - I visited during summer and the all day long sun shining thru the window made it difficult to sleep. I mentioned it to them and when I got back to my room they had put a cover all the window. I thought that was awesome. Cons: - The tub is part of the room, there is no separation....so after taking a hot bath or shower the room will get very humid. - The prices of their food was high - Apparently we got the worse room, right under the stairs and next to the check in desk. So we could hear every conversation the front desk staff had and every morning we can hear people walking up/down the stairs and LOUD bangs if that person was dragging luggage with them (this is why I took a star off) I highly recommend staying there as long as you dont get the same room as me read more

SO disappointed! my family and I stayed here and really enjoyed our stay. we paid upfront, in cash, no problem.. in the morning when we requested to extend our stay for an extra night, they denied us. when we asked for an explanation as to why we were told we left our room too many times. I never saw any posting requesting guests not to leave the building or to limit coming and going. my husband requested to speak with a manager and was told they were "gone for the rest of the day". no offer to leave a message, no offer for a follow up, nothing. if you plan on going to get food somewhere or go to the store I suggest finding somewhere else to stay. read more

Adorable, CLEAN and spacious room with a connecting bathroom and wonderful "fireplace" (Heater with digital fire). After hiking in the snow, coming back to this room to warm up and rest/ recover was just perfect. The free breakfast was delicious and filling. This hotel, along with their sister Best Western Country Lane has unresponsive and poor customer service. I booked a 3 night stay at the Featherbed. When I arrived to check in, I was told that they were overbooked. I was asked to move to the country lane. I agreed. When I arrived at the Country Lane facility, my 3 night reservation at the Featherbed had been cancelled and Country Lane could only accommodate me for 1 night. It took the I stayed the night in a saggy queen bed and enjoyed the clomping and creaking of the night staff coming and going. I had to work early, so around 8 am, I started calling the manager. The manager was not available, so I was put through to a voice mailbox that is full. I attempted 3 other calls to the manager and left my number with the desk clerk. No calls. If you relish saggy beds, noisy rooms and cherish the absence of customer service, this is the place for you. read more

Had an overnight stop in Juneau and booked a room here. First off, let me say that this is one of the best rooms I've had in awhile. Feels more like a bed and breakfast than a hotel. Work trip for 1 week, this is one of the smallest hotels I've stayed in but don't let that scare you away. Grandma's is more like a bed an breakfast and it feels like you're at grandma's house. We love staying here even though we are local! We come back again and again for a night here or there but it really should be less money. The jacuzzi tubs are awesome and the featherbeds are very comfortable. The room lay outs are a little wonky, especially if you ask for room service. Cute decor and friendly staff. We fish out of Juneau every summer and like to get off the boat every once in awhile for a real bed and shower. We have stayed here quite a few times and love it for a few reasons. Each room is very different which adds to the experience every time you stay. If your like us we found a couple of our fav rooms and try to request those if available. Very reasonably priced and there complimentary breakfast is great. I hear the restaurant for dinner is good and certainly smells like so. We haven't had a dinner here just because it's nice to go somewhere off grounds to eat and the featherbed does not serve wine or beer. The beds are super comfy and large showers/jacuzzi tubs are very nice. The staff has always been more than polite and helpful. Simply a fun place to stay, I would recommend it to anyone. read more
