This is a very nice establishment that has knowledgeable people working there that take the time to understand their customers wants and needs first, and then provide great advice and service. We belong to a large group of former Vets and Federal Workers and many that we have brought from the group into this shop relished the friendly atmosphere and were equally impressed with the knowledge provided. Some very unique items in the shop and it's always fun to see what's new. Most of our group are very knowledgeable about firearms of all types, and no one ever informed any of us CO's of anything but positive comments. made a yelp just to repost my google review: As much as it pains me to join the handful of negative reviews about this otherwise cozy little gun shop, I feel I must. I've been visiting this shop as a Westerville resident for over 10 years. Throughout my teen years, and into adulthood. Over the years maybe I just always had the good fortune of dealing with Jack, but should you find yourself talking to Alex, you will immediately recognize a difference in character. What should be a small business with a customer driven mentality is singlehandedly ruined by this one employee's attitude. I've never spoken with anything but respect to either gentleman, but time and time again, Alex just always had this short, crass attitude. Well, this attitude has led to me never wanting to enter the shop again after today's experience. Alex has no respect for you as a customer and only sees you as an inconvenience, or at least gives you that impression without advertently saying it. I will be much happier doing business with any other local gun shop. He even had the nerve to ban me from the store because I said something to my Father under my breath while walking out (I had no idea he was following another customer out to help him bring in firearms), who is supposed to be having a fun fathers day experience, and receiving his gift. We were simply picking up our FFL transfer and inspecting it at the counter, only to be rushed out the door because there were other customers in the store. Newsflash Alex, its a gun store. There is plenty of stuff for other customers to look at while you devote your full focus and attention to the one STANDING IN FRONT OF YOU. I get it's Monday, you probably got a lot of other FFL transfers in and called all of those people too. Did you ever think maybe don't call every customer first thing at open if you cannot handle that same volume of customers coming in your shop? Prior to the pandemic 2020, my knowledge of guns was very limited, rather nonexistent. An addiction to end of the world movies and the thought of possible zombies, or worst, aliens in the near future had me thinking of getting protection. I've seen all the movies, I know the direction this pandemic is going in, surely there will be zombies. Funny, not funny. Luckily a yelp search takes me right to this hidden gem. While all the larger, well known shops have lines out the door during the height of the pandemic, this location in the heart of Westerville is truly a well kept secret and not crowded. I'll admit as a newbie, the location was a little unnerving. Steep stairs leading to a basement location that feels secretive are somewhat intimidating. What am I about to walk into? What exactly do I walk into - friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and professional staff. Along with great customer service, the store itself is small, organized, and well stocked. The gentleman who assisted me was extremely helpful. He patiently explained every nuance of gun ownership, and answered all of my many questions. He explained the difference in revolvers, semiautomatic, and automatic guns. Gun brands, bullets (hallow point - yipes!), basically, all areas were covered. He let me get a feel of a few different types of guns and showed me how to properly hold it. Apparently cocked to the side like in the movies isn't a real thing. Also calling it my 'gat' is a no no too - ha ha! Considering this was my first experience with purchasing a gun, I would recommend this shop. A very, patient and attentive salesperson made this a very pleasant experience. A fast turnaround on my background check along with a reminder call to pick up additional items were the personal touch that I appreciated. Again, I strongly recommend Aumiller. read more

I just recently purchased my first firearm from here! The whole shop was help and interested in all of my questions and gave me true feedback and suggestions. Went into this store in particular store because it was close to where I had a flag football practice. It was in an unfamiliar area so I felt out of place initially after I walked into this small gun store. I asked to purchase a firearm and the much larger younger gentlemen out of the two started acting weird and whispering to the more elderly man saying "I need you to check this box" trying to get his attention to go into the other room. When they both came out of the room the elderly man looked at me and said "you been smoking? Or around someone smoking? You smell like marijuana" the large younger out of the two then said "I don't feel comfortable selling you this gun". "Come back Monday". I was confused because the larger guy had a mask on and I don't smoke so there was no way I could smell like it. But anyway, I left the store speechless. Didn't know why they would deny me service for no reason really. I am African American and like I said before was in a unfamiliar area than I usually be. Once I left I went to a place closer to my house called "Shoot Point Blank" in Lewis center, Ohio. This place was way bigger with great and fast customer service, and triple the amount of options than this store. It was about a 15 min drive and they got me what I needed. You also get a certIficate for free time at their shooting range when purchasing from them. Shoutouts to them. Be careful about this place pending on maybe what you look like or the mood they're in for the day. It was really the larger guy who had a problem for some reason. Most of the employees are nice. But Alex is very hard to deal with. He would not listen to me I showed him online that the gun I had in lay away was cheaper brand new than the used one that had scratches and wear on it that he was selling me. He told me he couldn't change the price or return the money I put down on it. He ask me what I wanted him to do I said the gun wasn't worth what he was charging me since you could get it cheaper brand new. But he continued to tell me he couldn't change the price or give me my money back.then about ten times he kept saying what do you want me to do. I kept telling him to ask the owner to lower the price. But he ignored that and continued to ask me what he wanted him to do he wasn't even listening to me so he was upsetting me so much. He finally just gave me my money back. We also bought a gun from them that the firing pin was messed up and we bought the gun from there it was supposed to be new but now I wonder if it wasn't used is why something was wrong with it after only test firing it. when it came back we drove 85 miles to get it and they lost the gun we had to wait 4 days before they found it until Alex came back to work so he was probably carrying the gun and we had to wait for him to bring it back. Very shady so if you buy guns from them be careful they don't over charge you because they won't give you any money off even if a new gun is cheaper than a used gun they are selling. Be aware because he tried to insult my intelligence and tell me that when you add the tax and shipping of the new gun it would bring it to the price of the used gun he had. Like I wasn't smart enough to know the price of the used gun was going to go up from taxes also then it would still be more than the new gun Maybe he needs a math class. BE AWAWRE OF THEIR PRICES. Check other places first online at cheaper then dirt they have way better prices then there I did enjoy doing business with Aumiller until Alex tried to be rude and unwilling to help. Just an update that this is a great place to buy firearms. The staff is always friendly, honest and knowledgeable.

So, I'm not a gun-crazy person. I do come from a family of fans of the Second Amendment though, so I have an appreciation for things that go 'boom.' I bring all our visitors to this place though, because it is AWESOME. Even my dad, who owns more guns than Portugal, found things here that he'd never seen nor heard of. If you actually have need of firearms or ammo, it is likely you'll find what you need here. If you are a gun person, this is one of the best kept secrets in central Ohio. Their prices are usually 10% cheaper than major gun retailers and their customer service can't be beat. They once had a gun transferred in for me and when I became hospitalized for over a year they held onto the gun for me without payment until I could pick it up. I rarely do business with anyplace else for my firearms needs because of their amazing service. I find if they don't have what I'm looking for, they will get it if they can. Very small shop with limited inventory and some older guns being sold as "new" but there are some bargains. The manager is a bit odd, maybe not cut out for a "people-person" type job. I the past year I have gone to Aumiller's for the gunsmith work, unfortunately their "guy" seems to always be in Florida but when you ask about other recommended gun smiths in the area the response is always the same, "we don't recommend any one else, come back when our guy gets back because he is the best" whatever.
