Welp .. drive by the place often decided to come in and sat outside for well over 20 minutes went inside to see when our server was coming a lady proceeded to come outside and say "I'm the only one working right now and I have to make ice cream so IF YALL CANT BE PATIENT" I'm sorry the rest of her words are not worth typing.. my mouth dropped open and had nothing to say. Have been going to Aunt Millies for years and its always a mainstay when we go to VIR. The Pizzas here are seriously gutbombs in a good way, they are complete cement blocks and will feed a ton of people. We always get too much but the pizzas are so cheap and reheat well. But the aroma of the pizza oh my like the ceilings are twenty feet high but the smell wafted through the building leaving you with that desire to crave pizza and boy I did. I ordered the Hawaiian pizza. I requested a thin and crispy crust with the fixings The pizza came and it was just as I ordered. No a guy that 90% of the time my order is gotten wrong. But I don't scream and jump up and down on the table usually polite to point out something missing from my plate of the order just isn't mine. I ate that small size pizza yep Every tidbit almost no morsel left on my plate. I hardly left anything for the dog to lick. Yeah it was gooooood. Talk about a local hole in the wall that puts to shame all the chain pizza and sub businesses. Service was a slow start, but once she got us the service was amazing. Great family place or for a couple needing a change. We started with onion rings. Crispy outer coat with a great sweet onion slice inside. You'll have to ask for whatever dipping sauces you want because it comes with none. And the pic I'm posting of the onion rings is after we ate a few. We moved on to a steak and cheese sub with Mayo, tomatoes, onion, lettuce on a toasted bun. We each ate half and we both were happy to say best sub we'd had since moving this way 3 years ago. Our other entree was a personal pizza with pepperoni, diced green peppers and onions, mushrooms and of course the amazing cheese! Surprisingly not greasy, and filled with flavor. This place is kinda small, but we were able to snag a table. After a long day of driving, we were starved. Not much of a selection at the salad bar, so I passed on that. For five people, we ordered 2 large pizzas, meat and supreme. These things are like bricks, big and heavy! Only able to eat 2 slices and was full for a long time. I liked the crust and there was a lot of it. They don't skimp on toppings either, although both pizzas were served with the cheese not fully melted (but still hot). We're not from the area, so we ended up taking a full pizza home so maybe next time we order 2 mediums. read more

Unbelievable. Group of friends stopped here after Hyperfest. We were worn out and starving from a day at the track. This amazing pizza place is literally 5 minutes from VIR. I got the Taco/Mexican pizza. Best example of that kind of pizza I've ever had. They pile in the toppings and tuck them all in under a huge layer of cheese. It's like a Pizza cake more than anything. I don't normally leave reviews, but whatever you do, do not get the cheeseburger pizza. My husband and I went after a long day of being in the car and we LOVE cheeseburger anything, but this pizza made us both sick. Never have I heard of ketchup as a base for pizza (instead of marinara sauce), and that's what the secret sauce was (and if it was supposed to be something else, it just tasted like Heinz ketchup). Also, all of the toppings were under the cheese, which is an intriguing concept, and being from Chicago, I am familiar with this, but it was just not working on the pizza we got. The cheese also tasted like Kraft cheese slices, and just was not complimenting the pizza well. Maybe the cheese or pepperoni pizza is better, but we won't be back to find out. read more

Oh how I wish this cute place wasn't so far from me!! I only get up to the NC/VA border on occasion from the Triangle area, but will have to make the effort more often now. I'm originally from Chicago where I'm used to excellent pizza, which is difficult to find in NC. I looked at the pictures of Aunt Millie's pizza and kept my fingers crossed that it may be a close match. Well yes it is!! The crust is wonderful! Crispy and chewy at the same time. The toppings are ample, even on what I consider to be a thin crust. It really holds up with so much piled on. The sauce is very tasty. The only thing I'd suggest is adding some fennel seed to it, which gives an unusual sweet flavor, IMHO, otherwise great sauce. I loved every bite of this pizza and glad I had some left over to take home! I do wish they had fountain service for soda refills, but one can only hope. The building is really cool and has got to be from sometime in the 1800's. Wish I'd have asked, but I was so blown away by the pizza I forgot!! We read some hilarious reviews on this place, because the town is legitimately 100 yards long and it is the only thing for miles and miles...but you don't be disappointed. My expectations were very low and I was really pleased. We kept it simple: a pepperoni pizza and chocolate pie. The pepperoni pizza was a 4, the pie was a 5. Authentic Quaintness+good pizza+great beer make Aunt Millie's a destination worth visiting when in Milton (pop. 263, we were told). Aunt Millie's is located in a short row of adjoining stores and storefronts that share an elevated wooden walkway/porch and overhung roofline. While the exterior evokes Mayberry, the interior looks like it was plucked from the set of Petticoat Junction. The shelf-lined walls are chock-full of vintage tchotkes. Suspended from the ceiling is an over-sized stuffed pig riding a miniature motorcycle and on the wall behind the expansive bar is a naive-style fresco of several Millie's regulars. We were lucky enough to chat with two of the depicted regulars, and they were among the most charming and warm people whom we have ever met. They cheerfully described the history of the town, which was a wonderful unexpected bonus! Our only disappointment (minor) was that we did not have a chance to speak with a very elegantly turned-out Southern gentleman who strode through the restaurant. Even without the abundant atmospherics, Millie's is worth a visit for its divine pizza. Our table ordered two: Millie's Meat and the Mexican. The meat lovers at the table dispatched the former record time. Atop the beautifully thrown crust (thin under the toppings while magnificently puffy and brown along the beautifully hand-twisted edges) was pepperoni, beef, sausage and ham. The perfect 'za for hungry race car drivers :-). The Mexican Pizza---another meat lover's delight with its generous browned ground beef---was essentially a deconstructed taco. It was topped with shredded lettuce, freshly sliced tomatoes and sour cream. It evoked the recently trendy micro-greens topped pizzas that are often found in sophisticated, urban pizzerias but without any preciousness or self-consciousness. "Yum-o," to borrow a Rachael Ray line. The waitstaff was attentive and engaging. I don't remember the last time that we visited a pizza joint where the waitstaff made sure that even our water glasses were full. Finally, Millie's is relatively inexpensive: two large pizzas, two pitchers of beer and two individual beers ran about $60. read more

This place is an absolute staple of VIR. If you ever go to the track, you HAVE to come here for at least one meal. The building location is honestly a bit dated but it's honestly part of its character. You go in and see a lot of nostalgic stuff combined with bit of new decor. The thing that keeps me going here everytime I go to the track are: 1. The service. I have yet to have a waitress give us bad service. Now sometimes they are slammed busy and they are a tad slower at times but overall they always serve you with a smile and warm welcome. 2. The food. It's fantastic and authentic. They are THICK on the cheese. If you love cheese, you've come to the right spot. 3. Price point. In comparison to other places, the food is very reasonably cost for what you get. You won't be disappointed. Just a few notes to realize when you get there: 1. I swear it's a blackhole for cell reception. Be prepared to lose your cell signal. Although this year they just added a new wireless signal. It does help but overall, put your phone down. 2. Parking is on the street and in the dirt area beside the building. 3. Watch the last step when leaving!! It's at least a foot step! If I had any recommendations regarding this place, I'd suggest they get a few craft beers on tap. The beers they have now are "ok" at best. Lastly, please fix some of the furniture. I know the facility has a limited footprint but overall having chairs updated wouldn't hurt. Overall, this place is a must and if you don't go here, you're only hurting yourself from what is definitely part of the VIR experience. My wife decided that we should celebrate her birthday at Aunt Millie's restaurant. We have driven by this place a thousand times but never thought about stopping by for food. It was earlier this year that I had pizza from here for the first time. To make a long story short, the whole family thought the pizza was great. My wife and daughter also enjoyed the ice cream. The service was excellent, as were the portions. A family of four split a 16" pizza and it was enough. And the value? Outstanding! A family of four satisfied for $28. You can't beat it. The Sierra Nevada and Yuengling on tap belong in a pitcher, at your table. The hostesses are sweet and wonderful, as any good Southern gals should be. It'd be easy for the nearest eatery near the track to be so-so, overpriced, and mercenary.
