This is a lovely country place. We went on a Sunday when they had a buffet of all kinds of southern foods. On other days, they have menu service and an ice cream shop and other offerings. The buffet was really fun and had a lot of choices. My favorites were the fried chicken, mac & cheese, and broccoli casserole. In fact, I was thinking about the latter two the whole rest of the afternoon wishing I had gone back for seconds. There was also a nice salad bar and several dessert choices. The drinks come in giant jars so if you're thirsty, this is a great place. The staff was very nice. Also, you get a ton of food for under $20, which is rare and welcome these days especially. After a Friday on Lake Jocassee, six of us went here for dinner. We had not planned on it, but the "all you can eat seafood fluffed" was the only option. $20pp. We all enjoyed ourselves. Although I rarely eat fried foods (which applies to most of the buffet options), it was tasty. The service was very attentive and we enjoyed the laid back atmosphere. Overall, there isn't anything to necessarily rave about, but I had no complaints either. It is a good and viable option in this relatively remote part of the county. Go. Relax. My husband and I did the Friday night buffet which includes a drink and AYCE for $19.95 a piece. Whatever you do, do not pay any mind to the negative reviews of Aunt Sues, they're city people that just plain don't know good food or good people. They had everything decorated for fall and it was so cute! My grandparents have been coming here for years & they loved it when my papa was alive. Everything was hot & fresh & food was amazing! Service was amazing, always a refill with a smile & bright southern hospitality. We are staying at our families cabin 10 minutes away and will put this on our list to go to from now on! We had a great experience at Aunt Sue's. I was watching some YouTube videos on a hike we were planning for to get a feel of the trail, and the man in the video went to the restaurant and they showed the fried pickles and fried green tomatoes. We passed the restaurant on our way to the park and knew when we were through with our hike we would return to get some lunch. On the way back from Table Rock SP, the restaurant is hidden by the way the road is higher on the overpass and the restaurant is tucked to the side. Something to be mindful of. It isn't as easy to spot if you are leaving Table Rock State Park. The menu was a bit limited although I have nothing to compare it to. It may always be like that. Every individual we came into contact with that worked at Aunt Sue's was so kind and respectful with that Southern hospitality and charm. I got the roast beef sandwich with provolone on rye bread with the seasoned fries, and my husband got the turkey and cheese on wheat with the baked beans. Our sandwiches were delicious, but the one downside is that oddly enough there was butter on the bread which made it soggy. There was no mention of butter so if we knew that we would have opted to not have that on our sandwich as it already came with a condiment. My husband is a type 1 diabetic so butter is definitely something he needs to stay away from as it affects his body negatively. The french fries were very crispy and yummy, but sadly the beans were not hot. I realized I didn't see fried pickles on the menu, and I asked our waitress if they had them. They did and I ordered them right away. They were so good. Very slim sliced pickles fried to perfection and served with ranch. I ate as many as could I and brought the rest home where I later threw them in the air fryer and devoured them again. Our waitress was refreshing and wonderful, she was on top of everything and quite funny, and didn't miss a beat with making sure our drinks were refilled and ready to take with us on the road. The location also featured gem mining and a separate place to to get some ice cream that was outside of the restaurant. There is a wonderful wrap around porch out front with rocking chairs that we sat at for a while after we ate and relaxed. I wasn't impressed at all. Food options were sparse and flavor was blah. I didn't bother to try the peach cobbler or banana pudding cuz neither looked appetizing. I'm a huge Mac and cheese gal, but I opted not to get theirs cuz it didn't look good either. The fried chicken was decent, prob was the best tasting thing on the menu. And seeing a workers bottled water, drink cup and what I assume a dirty glove sitting right by the food buffet was a turn off. Loved Sunday lunch at Aunt Sue's. We arrived around 12:30 and were promptly seated. We had a party of 9. It was a tight fit with the high chairs, but the staff did not complain and accommodated our needs. On Sunday there was a buffet. It was wonderful, southern, goodness. Fried chicken, chicken livers, meatloaf, roast, mashed taters, Mac and cheese, green beans, cabbage, corn, broccoli casserole, rolls, salad, desserts. I'm sure I'm forgetting something! I loved the meatloaf! My kiddos thoroughly enjoyed the fried chicken. My parents have been bringing my older son for many years and I am so glad I got to stop by as well. Highly recommend while visiting Pumpkintown, Table Rock or Caesars Head. read more

Tonight we went to the all you can eat seafood buffet, it was delicious. They have salad bar, fried seafood, baked or broil fish and grilled shrimp. Shrimp and grits, hushpuppies, green beans, potatoes, frog legs, potato wedges, fried oysters, fried clam strips, popcorn shrimp, fried fish . Great for couples, families. All you can eat seafood buffet for $20.00 per person includes drink! They had dessert which tonight was strawberry shortcake . They have live bluegrass band for entertainment. The restaurant was a little cold. Where we sat people had their coats on while eating and was complaining how cold it was. They should have heat all around the restaurant to share with all the customers. The food is good and fresh ,very yummy. We will be back , the atmosphere is good for everyone .Restaurant is clean! We went for dinner on a Friday a few weeks back. It was Seafood Buffet night but I ordered low country boil. Salad bar and dessert came along with all meals. My husband ordered Grouper. He loved it and my low country boil was huge. I had it for 3 meals after taking it home. Service was excellent (kind , attentive, efficient. During the wait our waitress did not come to refill drinks or give an update on the wait meanwhile two other patrons came in and were waited on, served and left before we got our food! Positives: cookies were delicious. Reuben was pretty decent. Negatives: we spent over an hour and a half here for lunch!! Missed a function bc of it. I felt bad for the waitress because it wasn't her fault. They were understaffed and inefficient so that is a reflection on owner/manager. There were other staff members not doing much of anything and it seemed like our somewhat older waitress was carrying the rest of them. Bunch of Gen Z's so poor service and lack of interpersonal skills is basically that generation's standard. The Philly and fries my son ordered were horrible. Sandwich looked and tasted like a microwaveable and fries were soggy. At checkout, the owner didn't even apologize. The waitress did though so I didn't short her on the tip. The right thing for the owner to do would've been to apologize and at least comp the cookie or the drinks, but nothing. Being short staffed is one thing, but they were inefficient. They didn't tell us they had such a long wait time...again, poor communication. At least tell people coming in so they can make a decision if they can wait the long!! Overall, avoid unless you have an entire afternoon to kill and enjoy subpar food. read more

I understand the charm of this place due to the location off of Hwy 11 in the foothills having a beautiful mountain silhouetted backdrop and the old time themed decor. Honestly I have been here many times before when I lived in Greer years ago and back then it was a real experience and the food was good. What a difference now. We had been hiking and having a great time in the mountains and decided to get some lunch, so we ended up here. When we walked in we waited for someone to seat us, but it was like we were invisible. After waiting about 10 minutes to be noticed and eventually seated, our hunger had grown greater. We ordered in a timely manner but then it happened......45 minuets before we got our food and I'm talking about a simple order of a Ruben sandwich, 2 cheeseburgers, and fried pickles, basically bar food that would take any other place 10 minutes tops. That wasn't all; we didn't even see our waitress for that whole 45 minutes. When the food did come out another waitress brought us the fries only. She asked us haven't you got your burgers yet... The last thing I will say is that every person working there seemed to be miserable and it showed. Southern hospitality was definitely dead that day. read more

I want aunt sues to be good. It may be sometime. But. When I was there it was pretty consistently bad. Perhaps the problem was that it was the first warm day in the season. But. It was bad and I tend to be generous. Went for lunch with the sandwich menu. 2 pieces of processed turkey on stale white bread. The tomato looked good on my sandwich though I ordered the sandwich without tomato. Wife ordered chips. Never got chips. Didn't even get service to see if we needed anything. They offered to get me some when I mentioned it at check out. I declined as I didn't want to wait another 20 minutes. And. They charged me for chips. I may go back. But never for lunch. Tip. I have always stopped here to get ice cream but never stayed and ate their food for dinner or anytime. My husband and I share the barbecue combo plate and it was incredible. All the food is fresh and I'm kind of shock of the lack of pictures that everyone has submitted including me because we were so hungry we devoured everything on our plate and my kids also ate everything they got. On top of the food being really delicious it's close to the lake which is another bonus but I couldn't believe how cheap the price is even during the inflation. A family of four- $35! Again I usually take pictures to do my reviews especially new places that I haven't tried but we ate it so quickly. If you're passing by and you're hungry I highly recommend stopping there to eat and if you don't the next restaurant is about 30 to 45 minutes away. And I definitely recommend going couple doors down and there's an ice cream shop which I always go to and it's really good and very cheap prices. read more
