It also took some time to get our order placed. The jager schnitzel with the mushroom sauce was tasty. I preferred that the sauce come on the side so that the schnitzel doesn't get soggy. The schnitzel was breaded and cooked wonderfully. The potato salad wasn't anything special and I wasn't a big fan of it unfortunately. I added cheese to my spaetzle, and it was still very bland. The pretzel with beer cheese came out cold which I wasn't expecting. The flavor of the beer cheese was not great and I couldn't finish it. The ambience inside is very lively and fun and I love all of the decor. The service was very slow and not the friendliest.

When inquiring, our waitress had no clue of the wines being offered and there are not that many; and while I do not complain about prices typically, $18.00 for a 6oz serving of their top German 'Spatlese' is....... I had Weinerschitzel (sic) and my wife had duck; her duck was excellent, but was served in an appetizer portion while my veal was more than ample, but unremarkable......the potato pancakes were hockey puck sized and about as tough..... of the meal was the purple cabbage-believe it or not!! For a German Restaurant that features an ample menu of desserts-no one asked, so we did not bother! They have been in business for 32 years and the business has sticky tables (at least ours did) and is just plain tired......it is really a beer bar that serves mediocre food-SAD!!

The plate came with sauerkraut and potato salad and the Hungarian brat had a nice little bit of spice to it. The table had a delicious mustard and horseradish as well. Despite being too full we also ordered a slice of Black Forrest cake to-go, but had to take a bite before we left. It was moist and not too sweet! (We had to! It's in the name!) The restaurant also has a store! Service was quick and friendly! Would definitely come again if in the area.

A coffee, mocha, and chocolate. Unfortunately, the coffee and mocha cakes were extremely disappointing. Both had a strong taste that reminded me of some type of cleaning product. I can't say for certain what caused it, but guessing maybe something from the display case, but the flavor was so HORRIBLE that I only managed two bites of each before throwing them away because I didn't feel comfortable eating any more in fear of getting sick. The coffee frosting also had an old, stale coffee flavor. The chocolate cake was better. It was good, but not great. The cake itself wasn't dry, but it wasn't super moist either. One detail I did appreciate was that each slice was wrapped with paper along the sides to help keep it fresh, and not drying out in th I would have gladly taken the cakes back, but I had purchased them to go and was already too far away by the time I tasted them. As someone who absolutely loves cake, I truly wanted this place to become a favorite. It was disappointing because I had such high hopes based on the reviews. While the atmosphere and customer service were wonderful, the cakes simply didn't meet my expectations.
