This was pretty disappointing since we were expecting actual matcha ice cream (and maybe it was wrong of us to assume so). I wish the kiosk had images of the items for ordering though...didn't seem like there were any and you just had to hope that what you're getting sounds intriguing enough just by the name. Boba Ice Cream (brown sugar syrup) was okay. The brown sugar syrup was what was saving the entire thing. It's aesthetically cute, but it doesn't wow me. I ended up chatting with a few of the staff to hear about what items they enjoy here. Sometimes getting out and talking to strangers can be a great way to change your day around and maybe theirs. The biscuits and pie are always very good. Mini pies and by the slice satisfy the sweet and savory fixes for the week. This past weekend, I tried a new lox biscuit that had recently been added. It was delicious! Coastal Seafoods in a few doors down. I don't know if that's where they source salmon. It was silky and tasty. What really impresses me are the eggs. They are perfect! Sunnyside up with a crown of egg white cradling a perfectly runny yolk. These are so consistent. Staff are very friendly. You order at the counter and they serve you at the table. My neighborhood is a few blocks east. But Snelling and Selby Avenues are St Paul's own little Eat Street. The news that Groundswell in the Midway neighborhood was very sad. If you are looking for a similar level of deliciousness, head down to Hot Hands.

Wandering around I found a large number of treats I wanted to try, amazing looking truffles, chocolate bars, cocoas, loaded rice krispie treats, gummies, caramels, brittles, and more. I wanted it all! Alas, the price was a bit high for each of my desired items so I narrowed it down to a box of the truffles from behind the counter and a couple of rice krispie treats to take home. I still dropped quite a bit of money, but I don't mind splurging on sweets now and again. I waited until I got home back in Michigan to sample my treats and they while they were good I'm not entirely sure they were worth the money I spent. The rice krispie treats were huge but really heavy on the marshmallow, so that made them *very* sweet. The truffles were also so huge I had a hard time finishing one, and I very much have a sweet tooth! My husband was shocked I couldn't polish one off. I also had a hard time really picking out the flavors that they described in the truffle descriptions. It just felt like a plain ol' chocolate center. They were good and beautiful but not particularly remarkable flavorwise to me. For gifts, however, this place is stunning. A box of truffles is beautifully packaged and look even more lovely. Their goodies also make a great small snack while traveling. Just not sure I'd splurge on so many of them for myself again in the future.
