4.5/5 stars. Tried the banana bread here for about $10 per loaf, and it was slightly warm, and super moist on the inside. The outer crust was a little hard. The bread wasn't overly sweet. Not as good/fresh as Aunty Sandy's banana bread, but still super enjoyable.

We made a quick stop at Halfway to Hana after hearing the banana bread here is some of the best on the island. We haven't dug into it yet -- we're saving it for a head-to-head taste test with Aunty Sandy's -- but it smells incredible and we've got high hopes. In the meantime, we split a double scoop of ice cream with Kona Coffee and Banana Macnut flavors, and it hit the spot. Creamy, flavorful, and the perfect cool-down for the drive. The girl working the register was super friendly and gave us an awesome rec to stop at Pua'a Ka'a Falls about 5 miles down the road. Great call -- perfect spot to stretch your legs, swim, or even get a little adventurous with some cliff jumping. Definitely worth pulling over for -- quick, tasty, and a little extra aloha to help guide the rest of the journey.

What happens when despite all the beauty of the Road to Hana, all that comes to mind is a hot Kalua pork sandwich? Yes, that juicy blend of smokey spices spread into a fatty pork shoulder and cooked in banana leaf. Indeed, roadside joints like this come to the rescue. While many stop by here to get the famous banana bread, the hunger fixers across the menu are no less respectable. Quality beef hot dogs and Kalua pork sandwiches are the kind of dishes that will give that roadside satisfaction through their juicy textures and unforgettable emotions. With a small seating on the side, there is also no excusable reason for turning the rental car into a buffet table. So, go ahead, ask the kind folks here for a recommendation, take a break. It's only then that the promise of enjoying the remaining drive to Hana without a distracting thought of a dream meal will become ever so real.

We attempted to go to fullway to Hana but because of our tight schedule we stopped our journey here, Half way to Hana! We saw a long line of people standing in front of the store! We were curious what was all about! Yep, it's a food store!! Mostly, refreshment type of store and we had a bowl of shredded ice and banana bread! My wife's friend told us to get banana cake, that's why we did it! Since we were full at that time, we kept it nicely and brought it to my friend's place in Honolulu but we forgot to eat it there... later they said that it was the best banana bread that they've ever had! We were so happy to hear that, however, we have to try it again next time for ourselves for sure! Make sure get your banana bread Cheers

I have a strong opinion that this is the shave ice on island. Also, really delicious jerky. The auntie at the register is always so kind.

Stand is on The Road to Hana so no need to detour off the Road. This place is fast, friendly & efficient. This is where Aunty Sandy started her humble beginnings as a great banana bread baker. The banana bread is sweeter bc of the Apple Banana they use & no eggs are added so I would presume a longer shelf-life. As I took a slice, the freshness was evident & a great midway treat. For $10 small loaf of banana bread it was convenient.

Much needed stop on the road to Hana. There was about 8 people in line in front of us but it moved fast(er since on island time). What we swallowed: *FRESH PINEAPPLE SMOOTHIE: My hubby and I each ordered one and they were refreshing, tasty and delicious. Great that we can enjoy the drink and still proceed on our journey. *MACADAMIA NUT BLONDIE: This had big chunks of mac nut and very tasty. *BANANA NUT BREAD: This was yummy and a great breakfast duo with our pineapple smoothie. Highly recommend a stop here to get some banana bread and for sure the fresh pineapple smoothie!

Banana bread was warm upon arrival. Grab a few to have on the ride to Hana! Great flavor. Moist. A great treat.

Good pit stop to stretch. No public bathrooms, but there are plenty of shaded picnic tables to enjoy your shaved ice!

We stopped here yesterday on our day trip to Hana. We saw banana bread which I'd read about. This wasn't Aunty Sandy but half way is half way. We bought a loaf of banana bread. It was cellophane wrapped and still warm. It was $10+ after tax. It came with a small plastic knife so we could slice it. The three of us ate it in the car. We considered it breakfast. It was very moist.

The banana bread with jam here was absolutely delicious--moist, flavorful, and the perfect balance of sweet and buttery. A must-try if you're passing through!

Oh wow! This went way above my expectations!…read more When my trip to Maui was first booked, I researched a lot of food/desserts to try and spots to go to. I saw a lot of hype about this shaved ice, but I was like "it just looks a snowcone an I've had plenty of those" so I kinda blew it off like "oh I'll try it if we just happen to stumble upon a place" but I didn't write it down as a "must try" We went on a hike at the Pipiwai trail one morning and drove the whole rode to Hana. I was pretty bummed that we didn't get to the banana bread place before they closed, but on our way back to Waleia, I was looking up some spots to get a snack. This place popped up and I remembered it from my research so I figured we'd just go. It was on the way. We got ube, green tea, and lychee with a snow cap and mochi. Omg! It was wayyyyyyyy better than just a regular ole snowcone. It's so much creamier and the additional texture of mochi made it even better. Idk if it was because we just got back from hiking but it was so refreshing! I deffinitly recommend The only downfall of the location is that there was only one table and it was full when we were there so we had to walk down a bit to find another bench to sit at.

Five Stars - A Sweet Maui Treat Worth Returning For!…read more This was our family's first visit to Tobi's Shave Ice, and it definitely won't be our last! As first-timers, I asked the staff for a recommendation and decided to trust their expertise. Great decision. I ordered the High Surf, and it was absolutely delicious--refreshing, flavorful, and exactly what you want after a day in the Maui sun. One of my daughters chose to add soft serve underneath her shave ice, which was a combination I had never tried before. It sounded unusual at first, but after a few bites, I completely understood why it's so popular. The creamy soft serve paired perfectly with the light, fluffy shave ice. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and happy to help us navigate the menu. Their enthusiasm added to the experience and made us feel right at home. Beyond the shave ice itself, the atmosphere was part of what made this stop special. Sitting outside in a charming small-town setting with a relaxed island vibe made it feel like more than just a dessert stop--it was an experience. The shave ice was fantastic, the service was great, and the overall vibe was exactly what we hoped for during our Maui visit. We're very happy we gave Tobi's a try and would absolutely return the next time we're on the island. Highly recommended for locals and visitors alike!
