Relative to what we paid this was a very fair value for the massage we received. The staff was very friendly and consistently checking in with us to see how we were enjoying the experience. Couples massage comes with AWESOME hot stones at no extra charge. We have traveled abroad and this experience is more like a European massage (no mint, no small talk, no extra fluffy towel at end) just a good massage. The persons giving our massage did not speak a lot of English so if you have never been to a massage it may seem a bit confusing at first. Some rooms were smaller than we were used to, but it was not a problem for there massagers. Excellent massage and best price in town by far for a couples massage! Bring extra cash for the $4 tax if you use Groupon and for tip which is customary. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. This place is gross. I watch one employee go back and forth between a pedicure and different manicure client....no gloves. I washing hands between.gross. Not to mention when I looked down at the floor during my manicure, it was covered in nail clippings as if they've never swept. As far as quality of service, terrible. Dreadful. Received a manicure and pedicure on 3/23/13. Both had to be redone before I left as the polish chipped (after 45 mins). Mani chipped again as I was leaving so had the polish removed altogether. Toenails chipped later that evening. Save your $50 for a worth while spa. read more

Hands down, the worst pedicure that I ever received! My best friend and I were going to the beach and stopped to get our toes done first. The salon was clean and the staff was very friendly. However, all three technicians appeared to have a tough time completing their services. They were extremely slow and my pedicure looked like it was done by me. Had some extra time on my vacation so I decided to take my lil sis and treat her to the spa mani pedi. Started with a pedicure. That went very well. They seemed to have over booked. They had a girl who had never done a pedi or mani before do My lil sisters nails. It turned out pretty good my pedicure was good also. Now my manicure was a different. They tried to rush because they had massage clients that were waiting (for a while) needless to say my manicure looked REAL crappy. Bubbles smudges and chips. The lady that was doing my nails could barely understand english. And when she was doing my nails it started to burn and when i was trying to tell her all she kept saying was "it looks nice right". I'm giving this place a great rating because of convenience, cleanliness and for exceeding my expectations. It's always a crap shoot getting your nails done while traveling, but I walked into Aura and was greeted nicely, attended to immediately on a Friday afternoon. They didn't rush and did a fabulous job on my mani/pedi. A great little spot to escape near the boardwalk without spending an arm and a leg. read more

Beggers!! Must read! Beware! The massage was pretty good just a lot of areas we're not addressed me and my husband had went for a couples massage. The bad part was when you are leaving they have two women up front who are pretty much demanding a tip. When me and my husband went we took a Visa gift card and an additional $10 in order to pay for it and left our wallets Etc locked in the vehicle. Luckily I had a $5 bill because they charged me an additional $4 for tax! My girlfriend and I got the Groupon for the couples massage for valentines day, i read some of the reviews but i decided to give it a shot anyways, and im so glad i did. It was our 1st massage and we absolutely loved it and I feel for a little over $50, a full body 60 minute massage was well worth my money. We received a full body massage w lotion, hot coals, and warm towels and they worked hard to make sure we were enjoying it the entire time. I left a $20 dollar tip and i wish i couldve tipped more. I received a Groupon for Christmas and called to schedule an appointment, the lady who answered the phone seemed in quite the hurry, telling me I can come any day, any time. I got there 20 minutes early, but they let me start right away. The lady who did my mani-pedi must have been the same one who answered my phone call because she talked quickly and quietly giving orders of where to be throughout the entire visit. The store was quite dirty and outdated. The employees were in sweatpants and flip-flops, dodging in and out of the back room to grab food. I have a bit of misophonia and cannot stand listening to people smacking on their food. They had some sort of thriller on their big screen TV. I watched one woman employee wipe her nose with a tissue, then use it to wipe down the sink counter where we wash our hands for the manicures (same one smacking away on her food). Needless to say, I wouldn't go there expecting a relaxing spa feeling. I got the shellac manicure and pedicure with paraffin wax treatment. It was rushed and she moved from one to the next quickly, with her starting my manicure while the wax was drying on my feet. My manicure on one hand ended up being diagonal, even after pointing it out and her trying to fix the tips. When the pedicure was finished, she moved me to the manicure station where my feet laid on several cords under the desk. For mani-pedi, it took 40 minutes. I paid the $2 taxes and asked her to make it $15, she took that as $2+$15, but whatever. It's been 4 days and my shellac is still chip-free, even after washing dishes and painting furniture this weekend. I will not return. read more

I was there visitin on vacation, and decided to treat myself to a mani, and pedi. So I looked in the visitor coupon booklet and their business was listed with a decent price. So I said why not! Well it ended up being a "why the hell! " first the lady that was doing my pedi told me that my feet were dry....well thats why I came to get me together! Duhhh and she didn't exfoliate my feet, nor add any oil, just some $1 lotion it looked like. And before she painted my nails she asked me if I could pay for my service...huh OK I said, so I paid. My nails were done, and she put them under the dryer. I spent 5 minutes under and she said all done. She assured me that they were dry. So as I was walking out, she asked for a tip! Yeah, I got one..next time know what the heck it is you're doing! But I gave her a $5 tip anyway. And still had to walk away with dry feet and my nails didn't last 2hrs before they were chipped, and jacked up! Had to visit Rite Aid right away to fix her hot mess! Lol never again!!!! read more

Coming here was the worst/funniest experience I've had so far at a nail salon. My friend and I went there this afternoon to get a mani/pedi, during the pedicure the women was literally slapping and punching my feet and legs. Let's be clear not a massage a literal smack down. While all this was happening my friend and I were crying from laughing so hard because this was one of the strangest "techniques" we had ever seen. The women showed me and all the other workers the dead skin off one of the tools she used on my feet. During the manicure the women grabbed my fingers in a way that made a strange popping sound which only made us laugh harder. All the women working seemed to act like it was their first day on the job. They had a tough time completing normal tasks like a simple manicure. We had to walk around the salon barefoot because they only had used dirty flip flops to walk around in. Our manicure looked like we did them ourselves. This simple mani/pedi took an extensive amount of time. After it was all said and done I only tipped this women $3 and she yelled out to the other women about how much I was tipping. If I could give this zero stars I would. I was on vacation from California and my sister wanted to treat me and saw this groupon. Totally disorganized and dirty inside. I had gel on my nails and the woman was scraping the polish off on the floor as my foot rested on her knee. She held the nail clippers, cuticle cutter in her hand and sprayed it with a water bottle as her way of sanitizing. The massage chairs have holes in the seats and I felt the kneading ball directly on my back because it was poking out. I asked the lady to cut my nails 3 times and she never did. My mother asked the same and she never did. My moms cuticles are sore and she cut to much and made her bleed. I got a French manicure and the lines are crooked she did not clean the nail file reside from my finger nails. It looked LIKE SH*T. The man that did my toe nails got polish out side my nail and didn't clean it up. When it was finally time to pay, my sister wanted to tip $15 and that was way too generous. The lady said $15/each? My sister said no, $15 total. The lady said $20 tip. And my sister kept insisting $15, at the end of the day my sister wanted to get out of there and the lady basically forced my sister into tipping $20. This establishment is in a prime location at the oceanfront so you would only expect supreme service. No hand massage for the manicure. Most unprofessional so called business. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. Absolutely terrible!!!! Its def far from a spa. I bought a Groupon for a foot massage and back massage worst decision ever! I just had a baby and thought it would be nice to relax n pamper myself and that def didn't happen. First off this place has 3 names so beware! Groupon gives you a name then you go to the actual website and it says something different and then you go to the address and its a completely different name. Its small and dirty and very cramped. The man who gave me a foot massage was rough and I had to tell him to stop bc it hurt and then they put me in a small room with a massage bed and tell you to get naked... the man came knocking a few minutes later to give me a massage and it was terrible I kept telling him he was hurting me and he did not care not did he stop and now i wake up every day in pain!! Honestly, one of the worst nail salons I have ever been too. I was on vacation with my family and we decided to get manicures and pedicures. To pay $40 for a manicure and pedicure for substandard work is ridiculous. The facility was dirty. They didn't do adequate work. I am used to getting at least a 5 minute massage with a pedicure, but there was no massage at all. Then when you pay, they have a tipping chart. They expect that you should tip between $10-20 for their 'service'. I should have gone into the city of Virginia Beach instead. I will never go there again! read more

I have been a massage therapist for 15 yrs and have never received such a bad massage . The customer service was poor as well . You need some major training in the massage dept ..I was not asked about any medical history , nor the type of massage I wanted . My therapist spoke very little English . I purchased a Groupon for a couple's massage, unfortunately I did not read the reviews...or I should say ALL the reviews. I called to schedule the appointment and I told the lady what day I preferred . She told me she was open from 10am until 5pm. I picked 12/noon and asked if I needed a printed Groupon or if she could use it from my phone. She said if I purchased the Groupon I needed to print it and there was an additional fee of $4 per person and a top amount of $20. I explained that there wasn't anything on the Groupon regarding additional fees and that tips are normally based on the original amount of purchase as well as performance. She said "no because Groupon was purchased already it was just $4 extra fee per person and $20 tip.". Needless to say I have cancelled the appointment and requested a refund from Groupon. Groupon's customer service is great by the way. Please do not go to this day spa for a massage ...I'm not sure why they are charging extra because if purchasing a Groupon but it should be in their details if that was the case. read more
