We love this place. I'm always happy to go here and pick out something to enjoy while I'm there and something to take home! Brew works is one part beer store, one part bar, and one part game room. Many times we will get a brew and play battleship or sit outside and watch the parade of EA golden doodles in the summer months. They do not serve food here, so if we are hungry, we will get takeout from one of the restaurants close by and they don't care if we bring it in. There is a few tables inside and a few tables outside. Not a big place. There is a whole bar and game room in the basement, but it never seems to be open. I love the selection. The beers are a bit overpriced, but in most cases you can just buy them in singles. So if you want to try something new, it's not a huge commitment! I tried a couple of the thc, cbd, and hop-water beverages that I don't think I would have tried otherwise. They keep a fair selection of cold cans and also have a good selection of taps. I believe you can fill growlers there. I've always had friendly service. A+! read more

Hip hangout, you'll see a lot of the younger crowd here but it is comfortable for anyone. I think it's all flat so you could get a wheelchair in here. If there's no street parking, pass the place and park behind building. There's a walk through. Lots to do in East Aurora before or after, as well. Drink a beer while you shop for beer. read more

What a place! I love the concept. You can either order something at the bar, or peruse the shelves and get your beverage cold within 5 minutes to enjoy it in the space. Fun, casual, kid and dog friendly community watering hole that offers a huge selection of craft beers. Craft beers from around the world, draft wine, hard seltzers, ciders and wine slushies available to enjoy on site or to take home. Aurora Brew Works has the biggest selection of craft beer and significantly lower prices than the other local beer stores. The selection is always changing so there is never a lack of newness. Cans are sold individually so it is easy to be adventurous and try new varieties from craft breweries. The staff is friendly and helpful. They are awesome at making recommendations and know a lot about their products. If you decide to indulge in-store there is a small uncorking fee per drink. If you prefer craft beers on tap, pull up a seat, there are always plentiful options available in multiple sized pours ranging from a healthy taste to an indulgence. If beer isn't your thing there are a few wines and ciders on tap, wine slushies and hard seltzers. Just like the beer you can often find the newest flavors of hard seltzer in the cooler so you can try before committing to a 12 pack. I was recently able to try the Truly fruit punch and it was delightful. The wine slushies are refreshing and delicious, a great summery drink. You will find plenty of seating options indoors and outdoors. Indoor seating is located at the front of the store and downstairs, help yourself to a board game. Outside there are Adirondack chairs and picnic tables where you are free to seat yourself. Since they do not have a food menu you are free to bring your own take out. This is a great option if you are on the long but worth it wait list to get into Bar Bill. If you are checking this place out for the first time, I have some tips. If your selection isn't in the cooler you can have it chilled on site in about 5 minutes. Check out their online store where you can order and pick up in store or have it shipped. What a discovery! This is now my to-go store. Forget the big stores, their bigger prices, and the usual requirement that, even if you select individual beers, you have to buy a 4 pack or 6 pack. Allow yourself significant time if you want to browse all of their shelves. The selection for dark beers (porters, stouts, etc) is far greater than that of any other store I've been in. Altho many of the beers are in 4 or 6 packs, you're welcome to take one or more out; the beers are priced per can/bottle, not per pack. I haven't eaten or purchased a drink in-house yet, so cannot comment on that, but those who are in the store while i'm shopping seem to be enjoying themselves. And, if you want to sample a beer they have on tap, that is available for free. Parking is plentiful behind the store, despite the construction currently ongoing. read more

This is the coziest bar I've ever stepped foot in. Truly, it's like I am in the basement of the hose that I wish I owned. The upstairs of Aurora Brew Works is a beer shop selling bottled beers in packs for you to take home, but it also has a bar where you can just chill and they have a few tables and board games upstairs as well. The real fun, in my opinion, is the basement! Leather couches are broken up into sections where you can just unwind with some video games on big screen TVs. I am not a gamer by any means, but I got down with a game of Tetris and it was so much fun! There's a bar downstairs as well and the bartender was so friendly and efficient! They offer the option to renting the space out as well for your next event. I wish this place was closer to home because it would definitely be my weekly hang out spot. read more

Aurora Brew Works is a very cool establishment. It's a beer store but ALSO a bar, where you can sit and sip a tasty brew. There is a huge selection of beer to satisfy anyone's palate. I tried a Ten Fidy Imperial Stout. It was delicious and is my new favorite beer. (I prefer dark beer.) I also tried a Double Coffee Milk Stout from Hamburg Brewing Company. That was delicious too. I bought a Strawberry French Toast beer and S'Mores beer from Decadent Ales to try at another time. I sat outside at one of their patio tables with friends. The staff was very nice. Really relaxing time spent at Aurora Brew Works. Great selection of beer, by no means cheap, but comparable to other stores carrying Craft beer. The place sells glassware too. They have a large selection of Samuel Smiths, one of my favorite beers and in various sizes. They have a mini bar with about five beers on tap. You can choose which size pour you want, the 16 oz is about $7. They had seasonal beers on tap, Ballast Point Grunion, a Six Point option, Southern Tier and a couple others I cannot recall. The woman working behind the bar was really friendly and suggested her favorite which was the Ballast Point and it was delicious. We paid and then took our beers outside and sat on the very large lounge chairs facing the street. They had two picnic tables outside as well. The area was fenced in, low enough to look out and it was an extremely enjoyable way to spend an hour in East Aurora. read more

The front of the place has a comfy setting with couches. Tables along the side. When it's warm the patio can be quite enjoyable. There were about 6 beers on tap when we went. The pair of employees I interacted with were kind and patient when I took a lifetime to choose from their large selection. Also to note is a large outdoor patio area with picnic tables and adirondack chairs that are perfect for lounging with your newly purchased brew. And as a side note... they jam to some seriously awesome 90s-2000s punk/ska music which just adds so much cred to a place like this. This place rocks! I'm not a huge beer drinker but their selection is so good that even I've been lured in! You can buy anything by the bottle and they can chill room temperature bottles in five minutes for you. They also have a huge freezer of cold drinks, about 30-40 beers on tap, wine, and wine slushees! They have casual outdoor seating in the summer which is great for people watching and car watching along Main Street :) I've heard that their basement is really cozy in the winter but haven't tried it yet. I drove past this place on my way home for at least six months before I made it inside and man am I glad I finally stopped in! No food served but you can bring outside food in. After a trip to Italy early on in his career, what struck Howard Schultz was that Italians lived incredibly balanced lives. Shultz lamented that, unlike the Italians and their 100s of thousands of coffee bars, Americans had no place to gather that wasn't work and wasn't home: a third place. Shultz brought that notion back to the US, built Starbucks into a worldwide coffee empire, bought the Seattle Supersonics, drove them into the ground, sold them to a rich oil baron, and now Kevin Durant plays in Oklahoma City for the Thunder. But, I digress. What I'm trying to say is: these guys at ABW got it right! This is our new "third place." ABW is a gathering place for white collar, blue collar, hipster, the opposite of hipster, moms, dads, grandparents, the opposite of grandparents.... ok. you get the picture. It's all inclusive. They have a tremendous craft beer selection for tasting (there are always six kegs flowing), as well as a monster selection of bottled beer to take home. Mix and match your favorites if you want because it's all priced by the bottle. No kidding. They are very principled about what beers they will carry -- they recently informed me that my favorite west coast brew which I thought was "craft" turned out to be owned by a larger syndicate, hence they won't be carrying it. Did I mention these guys know their beer? You should get to ABW now -- not just to sit, sip a brew, and talk with the owners or a neighbor, but because you'll be able to say you sat in the original location when in 20 years they've achieved world domination. Very cool space in the quaint village of East Aurora! The small bar boasts some interesting brews on tap, and their beer selection for purchase looks small, but is vast beyond belief! We found a few different bottles from breweries and meaderies that we have never seen at Premier nor Village Beer Merchant! We sat down and ordered some pints; I tried the Grimm Action/Adventure, a sour smoked beer. The bartender/worker was very friendly and struck up some good conversation about beer on the quiet afternoon. All of their bottles can be purchased for individual sale (if you don't want to commit to a whole 4 or 6 pack). If you buy a bottle, they also let you open it there and enjoy it at the bar or at a table which is very cool. Overall, it was a great experience.
