The views and crab cakes were great! Unfortunately the pizza was not very good. The dough was soggy and the cheese wasn't flavorful. Would recommend Taste of Italy instead

Fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and broccoli

All the pastas are delicious here! I ordered the traditional pappardelle alla bolognese- pasta was homemade with a delicious meat sauce. My husband ordered the Alfredo fettuccine with shrimp and he loved his dish. I ordered spaghetti marinara for the kids and it was as very flavorful with tomato and basil. Our friends ordered the carbonara and loved that. They also ordered ravioli and seemed to enjoy that. Overall it was a great pick for something both adults and kids would like. The service was attentive. It does have nice views of the neighborhood but not of the bay. It's off the Main Street so not as crowded which I liked. My only wish was that they had a kids menu with smaller portions.

    Sausage and mushroom pizza!

I took a last minute trip to Rodeo beach and found it was a bit late to make it home by the time I wanted to eat. Popped onto Yelp and found Aurora, but not by accident, I was looking for a gluten free menu. After a few twists and turns due to the tunnel being shutdown on the way back, I of course landed a spot doors away. I could see the white linen before I got to the door and felt a bit shy with my shorts, T and hiking shoes but I want in anyway. I apologized for my appearance and the host was super sweet and let me pick a table. At that point, there were 3 families there. There was also a good stream of take-out happening tho I'd definitely suggest eating in. I picked a table with a view As tempted as I was to get a drink, I was just getting over something with flu like symptoms and didn't want to risk getting tired from alcohol or the 'very hard to turn down' lemon-soda. In stead, I kept my adult hat on and ordered the arugula salad and the sausage and mushroom pizza. I needed both and knew I could take some home. People around me were really enjoying their wine The atmosphere was calming and relaxed, the view was sweet, there was fun (much in the background,) music. Then came the food! The salad was so fresh and delicious. Before I knew it, I ate all of it! So good - Yay greens and beets! The cheese and nuts were also fresh! I only have a photo of my pizza because I wanted to tell friends about the place. The gluten-free pizza was perfect in size, which means I had a little leftover after eating my salad. The quantities and freshness of the ingredients was also very pleasing! I wouldn't change a thing. After dinner, I took a short 15 minute walk around the neighborhood which was easy with a few pretty gardens and impressive houses and hills. I'll be back!

Yum, yum, yum! Loved the Aurora Salad, and the Calamari Fritti was so soft, tender, and delicious! Everything tasted amazing. Our waiter was also really nice and attentive. Great food and great service, definitely enjoyed our experience at Aurora Sausalito!

3.8 Stars Overall. The interior is home-y, open floor plan with wide windows. Some seating offered outside as well. Came in on a Sunday afternoon after strolling through Sausalito. A little bit of a wait for a party of 2 but once seated, service was fairly quick. We ordered two pasta plates, ravioli and a penne. Ravioli was a little undercooked, not quite al-dente. The sauce for both we went with a red (marinara) and just was not impressed by either but preference was definitely for the ravioli sauce. A little bit of a hassle for parking as it's in a residential area so do keep that in mind especially if visiting on a busy day.

Just walked in for dinner tonight and it was DELICIOUS! The service was AMAZING as well -- the waiter was working so hard! We ordered the Caesar salad, caprese, cheesy garlic bread, carbonara, gnocchi, and apple pie with vanilla ice cream. I absolutely loved every single dish and will definitely be coming back! It's also a very good vibe inside and they have big windows so you can enjoy the view outside. Thanks for an amazing dinner!

Had a quick lunch during an impromptu stopover in Sausalito. Cute neighborhood haunt with indoor and outdoor seating. Friendly staff. Nice menu of offerings - from starters to pizza, pastas, and other Italian fare. I had the prosciutto and arugula pizza. They describe it as thin crust but it's closer to hand tossed. Still delicious.

Aurora was a little more formal than we had expected - but it's one of the first eateries when you drive into Sausalito. Ambience - it's a little dark and stale on the inside and they were somewhat understaffed so slower than expected. Arugula salad While it's true the word "beet" isn't in the title, you still wish the salad was better balanced with more beets. It's a lot of spicy arugula to digest without beets (or nuts or cheese) to equalize. Papardelle Bolognese Homemade noodles and delicious. Portion size on the smaller end, but still very satisfying. Sautéed Spinach I know it's just a side but I really liked how it was prepared. Just the right amount of salt and not overcooked where you completely lose the structure of the leaves and stalks. That's all

    Tiramisu

My new favorite dinner spot in Sausalito! Came here with my bf on a Friday evening and ordered the Caesar Salad, Margherita Pizza, and their Lasagna. Everything was delicious, each dish was balanced in flavor and generously sauced without being overdone. For dessert, we had their Tiramisu and it was the perfect treat to end our meal. The service here was friendly and attentive. Such a cute spot for date night. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

We stopped at Aurora for lunch on our way back from a visit to Muir Woods. Aurora is situated on the way into Sausalito and there's street parking, which makes it easier to avoid the crowds closer to the water. This is a big plus in my book. Ambiance and Service: The interior of Aurora is lined by massive windows with nice views of Sausalito (but not of the water, unfortunately). I was pleased when the host, who was also acting as a server, bartender, and barista, sat us at table in the corner with the best view. He was juggling a few tables at the same time by himself, but we never felt neglected. The interior walls and linens are light which contrasts nicely with the wooden floors, tables, and the dark-colored bar. Food: After our hike at Muir Woods, I was ravenous. Fortunately, the food at Aurora was quite good. I ordered the salmon alla siciliana (think capers, basil, and tomato sauce). The salmon was excellent -- perfectly cooked and the tomatoey sauce complimented it well. Accompanying the salmon were mashed potatoes and pan-roasted zucchini, broccoli, and carrots. The veggies, which were surprisingly good, were cooked al dente and with just the right amount of salt and butter. This dish made my hangry heart happy. My partner opted for the house made pappardelle with bolognese. He shared a taste with me -- it was comforting and meaty and everything you want in a bolognese. He completely cleared his plate, which I firmly believe speaks volumes about a dish. My mother-in-law did not have much of an appetite, so she ordered and finished the proscuitto-wrapped cantaloupe. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by our visit to Aurora. I'd absolutely recommend a visit if you are in Sausalito, particularly if you are looking to avoid the regular tourists traps by the water in Sausalito.

Sausage pizza - Funghi e Salsiccia. Could not get a better photo, but in reality, it was a very visually attractive pizza!

Great little gem in Sausalito! After talking with my favorite AI, decided to try this place which is only a four minute drive from the Boardwalk. This was ideal for my goal: to find quality food, not tourist crappy food. Had Caesar salad and 2 pizzas that we shared in our group of three. Spent $74 total plus tip. Server was owner, very friendly. This place had a really welcoming vibe. At first, I wasn't sure because of the white table cloths, but it ended up being just the right balance of a little bit of fancy and just the right ambience. It was very pleasant. Perfect for a romantic or family dinner. Affordable and tasty. Would definitely return.

This is a small neighborhood Italian restaurant nestled along a busy street of houses where the portions are great and the service even better. However, the authenticity of the food was mediocre - not bad but not that slow-simmered-for-eight-hours authentic kind of sauce. The cheesy bread was definitely cheesy.

Last week some coworkers and I had Aurora's pizza for lunch when our boss ordered it to be part of a coworker's birthday celebration. What a delicious treat! The pepperoni had the perfect amount of cheese. The veggie slice was filling. And the crust was tasty too! Def plan to stop in the restaurant sometime.

It is a cute little deli/bakery/restaurant. They gave us a menu and we sat down, but we ended up ordering at the counter. My girlfriend ordered the Fiorentina - Egg White with Spinach, Mushroom & Garlic and I got the Piemontese - Spicy Ground Beef, Mushroom, Spinach & Gorgonzola Cheese. We both throughly enjoyed our meals! The ground beef was not spicy at all though. We were hoping we had left room for a sweet treat, but we were stuffed!! I don't know if I'll make the special trip out here again, but if we are around, we might come again to try a sweet treat!

I'm really disappointed with my recent experience ordering from this restaurant through Grubhub…read more I understand that Grubhub handles delivery logistics, but it's still the restaurant's responsibility to communicate with customers when there are issues. I was left waiting about 45 minutes with no update--no notice of a delay, no mention that there might not be a driver available, nothing. What made it worse was calling the restaurant for help. The response I received felt dismissive, and I was simply told the order was canceled. There was no effort to assist or provide any explanation. Yes, I received a refund, but that's not the point. Good customer service is about communication and respect for your customers' time. A quick update could have made a big difference. I hope the restaurant improves how they handle situations like this and works more closely with Grubhub to keep customers informed.

The ambiance is amazing where you can be seated on the patio or indoors at a table or at the bar. I would say that it is a bit more upscale in terms of attire that should be worn and is not casual dining. When we arrived, we were quickly seated and given time to look over the menu and hear about the day's specials. There was a great selection overall and it was a good mix of seafood and non seafood options. Service was a bit slow despite the amount of staff which is why I am removing a star, but honestly I would rank it a 4.5 if yelp gave that option. Our appetizers came out quite quickly but afterwards it took a while for the main course to come out. The staff were very nice though and were easily approachable. Of all the food that we ordered, I have to say my favorite was the burrata plate. My least favorite had to be the potatoes or Arrosto, which was unfortunate as I love to eat potatoes. It was just bland and was lacking salt. But I believe this was more of an anomaly as the rest of the food we ordered was perfect as it came. Overall I love this place a lot. It is definitely saved as a favorite in my book! If you are in Sausalito I would 100% recommend trying Poggio! Perfect for a date night or with the family!
