The field guys that worked my project were Luisiano and Ramon (I apologize if I spelled their names wrong) However, Luisiano helped me program the system, walked the property with me and showed me where all the valves, etc. were. I could not be happier with the fix completed by Austex Sprinklers. A previous company had come in, looked around a bit, offered a few suggestions, charged me and left. Austex showed up, worked until they had diagnosed/fixed the issue and insured it was working before they left. In fixing the original issue they managed to improve water pressure on all the other zones of my sprinkler system. Additionally they instructed me on how to adjust the sprinkler heads. About 5 years ago, Austex came out and repaired our sprinklers. This week, I had Joseph Saucedo from Austex come out to repair two vales and do a system check. It was money well spent. He found a leak, repaired 10 sprinkler heads and fixed the two valves. The work was really good, their scheduler for the appointment was easy to work with, and the bill was easy to pay online. I contacted Austex Sprinklers to schedule a Service Call after I returned home from a three week trip oversees to find a $700 water bill! Usually averaging a $100/month and having had the water turned off in our home, I knew the issue was somehow connected to our Irrigation system. Therefore, I had to find a reputable Irrigation Expert ASAP. Austex promptly responded to my inquiry and we scheduled the first available appointment within a few days. Upon arrival, the Irrigation System Control Panel was pinpointed as the cause of the issue. The Factory Setting caused the system to run several times at night, so the panel was reprogrammed. In addition, Our Tech performed a full service inspection, replaced a defective sprinkler head and performed Seasonal maintenance. Austex Sprinklers was prompt, thorough, and walked me through the service they performed. In addition, I am thrilled to find a service provider whose territory extends to the North Shore of Lake Travis. Just had Anthony out to repair a sprinkler system I hadn't used in a couple of years. I must say he was one of the most polite young men I have met in a long time. Austex did a great job at diagnosing my issue. I thought my control box may have partially died, due to only a few zones kicking on, but it ended up being a faulty wire. Due to it being an easy fix, I opted to keep the wire, and bury it myself. I am pleased with work and knowledge the company has. Just had Austex Sprinklers re-visit an install to determine if dead grass was a coverage issue or something else. Communication was first-rate: emails to schedule the service, phone call 1/2 hour out from the appointment, and Justin even showed up early to get things going before the heat of the day. Turns out our problem was/is brown patch and while the coverage may have contributed to it, it's more complicated to remedy than just adjusting sprinkler heads. I got some great advice, along with the sprinkler adjustment, and feel as good as always to recommend Austex to everyone. Last May I contacted Austex Sprinklers to do a review of my irrigation system. A technician came exactly as scheduled and did the evaluation on my 17 year old system. He promised he would get back with a report/estimate for repairs/adjustments. Once reviewed, I awarded the project as recommended. Anthony was the technician who came to solve all issues. He worked diligently in severe heat and was very respectful and also listened to my concerns. He had to add a new control panel, make many repairs/adjustments to all zones. Before he left, he tested the system and set the new panel to automate. A few days later, the system however did not automate. I called to report the failure and Anthony returned for more troubleshooting. He added another control panel, reset it and left. But alas, still problems. So Anthony returned again and kept up the problem solving. Third time was a charm! I had a few things needed done. I needed one pipe capped off after one of the dogs got a hold of it. Also had installed a Rain Machine myself but apparently got a few wires overlapped. We have been in our house for around 10 years and we needed to update backyard after our son was born. We chose Austex based on reviews and friends. We hav been incredibly happy for many many years. It was last year I realized that we have never done the annual system review and so I called last year to have them come out for a review and to make some adjustments. Anthony came out, courteous and wonderful. He dialed our system in completely and was patient in answering all my questions. I called again this year and once again Anthony came and was wonderful. He was very patient again with my needs and concerns. He was very patient as I am still learning how to program my system to be more efficient. I called for an estimate appointment about 3 weeks ago. The appointment was confirmed to be on 2pm last Monday. I asked for half day off work and came back home waiting for the guy. About 30 minutes after our appointment time, the guy still did not come. So I called them and I was told the guy went to a funeral. I got no notice from them about that! Can you believe that! It is not over yet. I was asked to take some photos of my yard and send them to their email. I did that on the same day and I was told they would give me the estimate by the next day. Now it has been 5 business days and I still haven't received their estimate yet. I choose Austex because of the good reviews they have here. But now, I am wondering why there are so many 5 star reviews about this company. read more

I usually try to find some reason to give a legitimate business more than one star, but not in this case, given the nonsense I was subjected to. Had this company come out to my house for a so-called "tune up" about six weeks ago. The guy showed up three hours early and insinuated that I had the appointment time wrong (doubtful). More importantly, the guy didn't seem to know what he was doing. I had to point out a couple of (to me) obvious coverage problems. (He did manage to correct those.) He told me we had a broken pipe that needed replacing. $50 for that, if I recall. I assented. I didn't watch him do that part of the job. As I was writing the check afterward I asked him to show me the broken pipe. The guy fumbled around in his truck and said he couldn't find it. (!) It was pretty clear to me that there was no broken pipe. Either this guy was an aspiring con artist, or severely, incredibly lacking in communication skills. I called the company the next day and spoke to the owner (I forget his name.), relating the experience. He seemed genuinely surprised. He said he would look into the matter and give me a "partial refund". Well, it turns out that no refund was forthcoming. (I just found out today that my check for $185 cleared, reminding me of the whole affair. Nothing received in the way of a refund.) Overall, a most unpleasant, unsatisfactory transaction. read more

We have used Austex in the past for fixing some sprinkler issues and they were great. This review is about an outdoor lighting project they did for us recently. We have a 15 year old outdoor low voltage lighting system that has over 50 lights consisting of up lights, path lights and fountain lights etc. The system was completely out and no lights were working. We got multiple bids to fix it from some of the highly rated outdoor lighting companies on yelp. We were told by all the others that to fix the system would cost the same as installing a new system and all their bids were for new installations. Austex came up with a bid to fix the system and their bid utilized our existing system and included trouble shooting and fixing/replacing the broken components which was exactly what we were looking for. It was a very comprehensive bid for a very reasonable cost. The quote process, setting appointment times, actual appointments, all were all handled in an extremely professional manner. Because of the freezing rain we had recently they had to reschedule once and we were notified by both email and telephone call. Josh was our main technician and he did an excellent job. For one stretch, he had to run new wiring through our lawn to install 5 path lights and did such a good job that the grass looks totally undisturbed. Anyhow , Alex personally finished the job for me today and even did extra that worth $210 for free . He refund my $450 as well and even gave us a $50 Texas roadhouse gift card as an apology . I told him I prefer paying what I need to pay and do not want to take advantage of him but he insisted !! Alex has proved me that he cares about his customer's satisfaction not just $$ . Review on 7/31/13 I was excitd to finally find one that is reputable and had a great review here on Yelp to fix a leak on our sprinkler . Called Alex up to schedule an appointment . The Phillip guy showed up on time and gave us a quote of $450 to replace the two valves and the control circut board after his examation . Because of the review I have read here , we went ahead have him do it without thinking twice . He changed the control circut board and claimed he did not have the kind of the valve available so he would come back on Tuesday to fix it . However , he showed up on Monday instead of Tuesday ( good thing I was home ) , then he found there was a cover missing on where the electric wires are and suggested we take care of it right away . At that time , he asked me how much he quoted us .. that is kind of weird question .. so I told him $450 . Then he realized he did not spot the missing cover problem at the beginning so he is going to honor it and fix it at the cost he original quoted us . However , things go sour from here ..... He susposed to replace two new valves as he originally quoted us , instead , he cut corners to save his loss by re-building one of the valves instead of replacing it , and he did not tell us upfront until we found out ourselves after we paid him in full . He claimed again , he did not have that missing cover in his truck so he would come back to fix it . But guess what , after he got all our payment , he never came back to fix it . I called him up at least 5 times by now , and every time he gave me a date he would come finish the job but he never showed up and did not even call either !!!! Then he started changing his words saying he did not charge us for that cover and it does not have immediate danger without that electric wire cover . And then kept telling me how busy he is .. got many customers to take care , etc... But HELLO , HE DID NOT FINISH HIS JOB TO HIS PRIOR CUSTOMER AFTER WE PAID HIM IN FULL ON 7/22/13 !!! It's been about a week and half , he promised he would show up today as I told him this is HIS last chance . My phone calls now got ignored . We are very disappointed with this kind of service we received . Will I recommand anyone to this company ? The answer is HELL NO ! read more

Alex and Austex do a great job. I have an older system and am in North Cat Mountain where the water pressure is never constant. Alex is good at communicating what the issues are with the system and related issues caused by the city. He and his crew are timely, courteous and charge fair prices. I have not met to many great companies like Austex that really care about their customers. The owner (Alex) really goes above and beyond for his customers. He has great communication skills and is an all around good guy. I would absolutely use Austex again for any sprinkler issues I might have. We had a scheduling issue, but they were still able to get someone out the same day and they discounted our service without us even asking. Nice. The repair guy, Logan, was really friendly and helpful. We had several issues, and they sent the same guy out each time, which is a good policy. He fixed everything quickly and seemed to really know his stuff. The pricing seems similar to less professional places we've used. They charge by the job rather than by the hour, though, which I'm not a huge fan of. Overall, though, they seem like a stand up service. read more

He was out first thing the next day, evaluated my problem, and got back to me with an estimate for the repair. He is very knowledgable about his business and very reasonable, the actual job was only half as much as the estimate (he told me the estimate could be high depending on man-hours and extent of the repair once they got in there). They got the job done by noon the day after eval while I was at work! And this was 3 days before Christmas! I called Austex Sprinklers for a follow up to the job they did for me in July thinking that it would be a warranty job. Well Robert came out and made adjustments to my system, adjusted heads in various zones to ensure there was max coverage in areas my wife had concerns about, set up my controller for the correct watering times in each zone and performed an overall check of sprinkler heads in all zones.
