I have been going to Austin Artistic Dental for about five years and I have always been very happy with their services. The office is bright, clean and modern. The office staff are always polite and cheerful. I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes. I initially went because the veneer on a front top tooth came off and was lost. The staff was able to get me in the next day. Dr Hulse made a beautiful match which still looks great. Because I wore braces, there are three colors, so making the match was challenging. I have a small mouth and have had the corners of my mouth torn in the past. However, Dr. Hulse and his staff have been understanding and I have never had that problem since going there. I really like my hygienist. She is really nice, knowledgeable, and very gentle. I recommend Austin Artistic Dental without reservation. read more

See, and even this - calling it "Gum Infection Therapy". It's a marketing ploy meant to scare people into buying a $500 'kit' of a marked-up sonicare and 'special gum irrigant' - which is, literally, peppermint oil in vegetable glycerin. I was told by the hygienist that she was going to "apply medicine" to my gums - her literal word, which I have on tape, thanks to my trusty iPhone recorder. Oh wow, "medicine" huh? Sounds like an antibiotic or something, doesn't it? I was concerned about possible interaction with a medication I was on, so I asked and got the run-around and pushed until finally she said "well.. it's not exactly medication." What is it? Some herbal solution with no active ingredient. Not "medicine". But if you call it medicine, it helps sell the whole spiel that you have "an infection." I explained all this to a periodontist, who agreed that this place is snake oil shop. Scaring people into turning over their wallets by telling them they have an "infection" is wrong. He said I of course DO NOT have "an infection", I just have plaque bacteria in my mouth, which everyone ever born does. Perio doc said I dont' even have gingivitis, which even that, by the way, IS NOT "an infection." Bottom line: Dishonesty in a dentist isn't cool. (Also, weirdly unprofessional response from this guy - anger management, much? As a professional, you should be more open-minded to constructive criticism) read more

Pro - TVs to watch while you get work done. Cons - terrible scheduling, rescheduled me 3-4 times and now my insurance is changing. No respect for the busy professionals time, yet if you rescheduled they'd charge you for that. Billing is at the person you're working with's discretion. There seems to be no true billing amount, rather they get you for as much as they can. Will not return. read more

I went to Dr. Hulse to close the black triangles between my teeth. Prior to setting foot in the office, Dr. Hulse and his staff answered all the questions I had about BioClear and eased many of my nerves. They are all very kind and didn't make me feel ashamed about the status of my teeth. I had a great experience with the smile test drive and an overall pleasant (as pleasant as can be at the dentist) when I chose to have the BioClear procedure performed. Dr. Hulse didn't make me feel bad about not knowing how to take in my modified appearance but assured me that it was normal. His hygienist has done a deep cleaning and set me up with a superb program for gum health. And he just installed two implant screws to replace missing molars from a poor root canal job from five years ago. No, they're not the cheapest in town but I trust my teeth to them. read more

Dr. Hulse is fantastic! I had to have quite a bit of work done, after not having insurance for some time, some deep cleaning and cavities. 4 visits for all of that to be taken care of... Payment plans, open on Saturdays, and complete care to have this done, I have never felt so good about my dental care and maintenance! The cherry on top was for Dr. Hulse to take the time to call in the evening to make sure I was doing well after the treatment and to make sure I didn't have any questions. I cannot say enough good things about this place. I'm an anxious patient with a ton of energy and Dr. Hulse and his team made me feel right at home! Literally everyone I spoke to was extremely nice and knowledgable and I could tell their main goal was to make me comfortable and to get my mouth in tip-top shape. I appreciated the flat screen on both the wall and ceiling so you can keep yourself distracted. They also have headphones for patients to use to distract from the drilling sound. They used iPads to explain the elements of my mouth as well as educate me on dental health. It was extremely informative. I never had to wait and I really appreciate that too. They also use a vibrating needle so the numbing shot isn't near as painful as usual. I told them I get dizzy when I sit up too quickly and they slowly raised me every single time. I felt so comfortable and taken care of! Literally every aspect of my visit was stellar and I'm so excited that I can finally stop saying, "I hate the dentist!" I'm a new patient at Austin Artistic Dental, and I am in awe of how awesome this team is. I used to dread going to the dentist as a kid. I had my first check up in a few years at this office last month. I unfortunately needed three fillings. I watched How To Get Away With Murder while Dr. Hulse did the procedure. His techniques made the experience totally painless and comfortable. I didn't even feel the local anesthetic shot! Dr. Hulse is a very caring dentist. He's not the type that you only see for 5 seconds then disappears before all of your questions are answered. His dental assistant, Chris, is very pleasant. He joked around with me and helped put me at ease before I had THREE wisdom teeth removed. I had extreme anxiety before this procedure but once again, Dr. Hulse's team made sure I was as comfortable as possible. Shannon sets up the appointments and is an absolute doll! She instantly makes you feel at home. The wait time at this office is also nonexistent, which is an anomaly these days. I'm always seen right on time. I've read some complaints about how this office handles billing. They bill before you have the procedure done, based on how much they expect your insurance will pay out. They do a conservative estimate, so you'll end up with a nice refund check once your insurance pays. I just received a fat refund check :) Not a negative by any means. If you're looking for a new dentist, look no further. This place rocks. read more

I have searched for a great dentist in town for many years after my dentist of 15 or so years retired. I went to many places that were just terrible. When I saw the reviews of Dr. Hulse and his team I had to see for my self. The office is clean and inviting. Located conveniently in the South Park Meadows shopping center. The entire team is friendly and professional. They offer lots of payment options for those who need them or you can pay in full. I've had lots of work done here, from a 2 stage deep clean to 5+ fillings and most recently a crown. All of my experiences have been wonderful You have a TV with Netflix and Pandora on the wall and ceiling along with wireless headphones to entertain you while the work is performed. Dr. Hulse takes his time and is a perfectionist that makes sure you are happy with your experience. I have never had any medical professional personally call me the next day after a procedure to see how I was doing and to make sure I didn't have any questions, Dr. Hulse really goes the extra mile to make sure his patients are happy and satisfied. I get a phone call the next day from him whether I had a routine cleaning or a crown. I've recommended his office to many of my family and friends and will continue to do so! Ahh the dreaded Dentist appointment, few look forward to it and those that do are probably touched in the head, am I right? Dr. Hulse and his team did wonders mitigating the unpleasantness of getting cavities filled. Each room is equipped with televisions with wireless headphones so one can listen to music or watch television while getting fillings or even just during a routine cleaning. I was fitted with a comfortable plastic piece to keep my mouth propped open during my fillings, so much better than alternative methods. The whole ordeal was very tolerable and seemed to go by pretty quickly. I could talk about their professionalism, courtesy, cleanliness of the office, blah blah blah, you could expect that out of any dentist office. Here, you can expect more. read more

The best dental experience I have ever had. First of all, the staff are very friendly and will make you feel welcome. They will send you paper work to complete digitally in advance, so it saves your time filling out everything on the spot. As you walk in, there is coffee and water at the front desk. The staff will check with you throughout your appointment to see if you needed water or anything. The place is super thoughtful, there is 1 TV in front of you and 1 TV over your head just so time goes by faster when you are in your chair for too long. Blankets are available by request. The bathroom is clean and filled with floss, toothbrush and toothpaste. Dr. Hulse is extremely knowledgeable, and the equipments they have are high technology that sees every single issue you have in your teeth. If you are worried about teeth, no matter it's dental health or cosmetic look, Dr. Hustle will get you covered. I haven't been to the dentist for 2 years, and I avoid it as much as possible because it's such a vulnerable experience. However, I've had the most soothing experience at Dr. Hulse office that I don't have "dentist" anxiety any longer. Thanks to all the staff and Dr. Hulse for such a great dental experience. read more

The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that I felt a bit of pressure to make a quick decision after they quoted me the price.
