It's been a really frustrating experience dealing with this office. I was originally scheduled to get a crown on Sep 15th. They called me on the day of my appointment and said that the crown hasn't arrived. 3 calls and 4 weeks later (Oct 9), I still don't have my crown. They keep saying that they would call me for updates, but they never did. I asked if they could just give me a refund, but the best they could do is offer me 50% of what I paid for. Last week I was experiencing severe pain from a very bad gum infection and wisdom teeth issues. Thankfully I was able to be seen immediately by Dr. Badea. The doctor prescribed me medication and performed a treatment on my gums to help fight the infection. She was able to get me in for surgery on one of the busiest days in her office. After the treatment and surgery I experienced immediate relief. Now my teeth and gums feel great and I'm on the road to a healthy mouth. I will say I had to contact my dental insurance to confirm that Dr. Badea was in fact within my insurance network. The insurance part can be tricky. I have an EPO and the rules are pretty explicit. The amount I paid out of pocket for my treatment was as expected per my insurance. The entire staff was friendly and extremely helpful. read more

My very first appointment the dentist assured me they will never charge me anything without my consent. When I go to checkout they tried to charge me $30 for some scan they told me was free. (I asked the technician before collecting the scan). That was in February. I've been calling every month because I am still getting bills in the mail after they said it would be canceled. I just tried to speak to someone again about this. Tried to blame it on some merger and then basically hung up on me while I was still trying to speak. I've left messaged several times and they say they will call me back but never do. I had a fine experience with the actual cleaning but I will never go back now. read more

I went to this location about a year ago looking for just a cleaning since it had been some time. It was close to my apartment and looked nice. Instead of getting a cleaning, they ran a series of x-rays to "find my wisdom teeth" (even though I told them I had all 4 removed). After multiple x-rays, confirming I had no wisdom teeth to remove, I was given a gingivitis exam (which I did not request nor agree to). Each tooth was pricked 3 times at the gum and I was told I have early onset gingivitis and needed a $400 speciality cleaning. The exact analogy used was that I needed the "deep clean" because "you wouldn't ever just wash the outside of your car, would you? You always wash the inside" which is in fact far from true! Not only did they tell me I had early onset Gingivitis but that I had SEVEN cavities. The doctor had the audacity to ask if I brush my teeth each day, and then asked "are you sure?" when I said of course I do. She pointed out the "cavities" and I let her know that those were existing fillings from previous cavities. She was persistent that I had 7 cavities which needed filling immediately and it would total $700. Obviously frustrated that I came in for a cleaning and left with an estimated $1,100 bill if I followed her recommendations, I left without scheduling anything and went to my family dentist for a second opinion. Without telling my family dentist what happened, he confirmed my teeth looked great, absolutely NO cavities, and my flossing was keeping my gums healthy. NO indication of needed fillings or gingivitis. I then told him what happened and he was DISGUSTED that the dentist at Meadows Dental Care was going to drill into perfectly healthy teeth (and that she was in fact looking at a filling of mine, calling it a cavity). I read reviews about how this business is a scam and they will lie to you for profits, and I should have taken that feedback. To think I could have spent over $1,000 and had my mouth unnecessarily drilled into if it weren't for my skepticism is outrageous. I received a letter from my insurance stated I owe certain amount, come to find out Meadows Dental Care has been charging my insurance since January 2021 (10 months) for my son visits. The last time they seen my son was in April 20 21, after talking with my insurance they stated all they need is for Meadows Dental Care to write a letter when was the last time they had seen my son. The last three weeks me and my wife been getting the runaround The manager is busy, Manager is on vacation, we will be getting back with you at the end of the day, never heard back from them. I'm gonna add to the bashing. Not because I do not like the dentist Dr Badea, she is a really good dentist. But the billing office is another story. (Just read all the negative reviews - fair warning!). I always pay for everything up front, as soon as I'm done, like in most offices. But then they send you a bill 4 or 5 months later saying you still owe $60 for an "office visit". This is not the first time this happened, and it happened to my friend too. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM. When you walk in for your appointment as a new patient, they immediately take as many xrays as possible to milk your insurance. Then they start taking "other xrays" and pictures (that aren't covered by your insurance), and start trying to begin several other procedures that you'd have to pay out of pocket for. My last dentist appointment was six months ago (different office because I moved) and they said I was fine aside from slight gum loss (caused from brushing too hard). But this place tried to convince me I had 3 gum diseases, 3 cavities, and that I also needed a removal of my wisdom teeth AND a previous filling. Y'all, I'm not kidding you, they were trying to do "treat" all of that while I was on my LUNCH BREAK. They literally tried to call a surgeon to schedule the wisdom teeth removal before I stormed out. LONG STORY SHORT: I booked an appointment for a regular 6 month cleaning. They said it would take an hour. I was in there for 2 hours and they never even did the cleaning. Instead, they did an hour of xrays and pictures, and an hour of trying to convince me that I needed a "deep cleaning" that would cost me $500, and several other procedures that would've cost thousands (all out of pocket). Stay away from this place. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. They , the Dentist, told me that I had periodontal disease & , I therefore, needed a special $708 cleaning . She lied, I do not have periodontal disease. I got a 2nd opinion. Not , however, before I had half of my mouth cleaned. After I received my special cleaning was given , by the hygienist, a bottle of special solution. The instructions said to rinse with it twice a day . It stained my teeth a very dark black looking color. I had the stain on my teeth. until I had to get my teeth cleaned again. The hygienist at the 2nd place took away all of the stain. I liked Dr. Fuduka, she was very competent but she left to open her practice. I have only had one exam with the new doctor so I can't give a fair evaluation. The reason for the two star review is the front desk. They consistently over billed me so I had a rolling credit. The former front desk staff let me pay once the bill arrived, that way I could see what insurance covered. The new front desk staff was rude and demanded immediate payment despite not knowing what insurance would cover. I have been with them for 2.5 years, have always payed the bill immediately despite our history they were jerks to me. I will be moving to another office in the next 6 months. Also I overheard the patient in front, he had a complicated issue. Instead of being pleasant to him, the two front desk staffers went to the side and started whispering about him the moment he left. TLDR version: they misdiagnose you so that you get scared and pay more than what you actually need to pay for. Look up DentalOne or DentalWorks which is the company that owns this place. They are KNOWN for this. The dentist will be rude and yell at you in the middle of the office just for asking to see your X-ray. STAY AWAY unless you want to over pay for services you don't need. I went here a total of 2 times and both times knew I was being ripped off. My first visit: made an appointment over the phone for X-rays and a cleaning. Showed up to the appointment to which they decided to use some new state of the art X-ray machine that is NOT covered by insurance but do they tell you that? Of course not! Then went to go have my exam and teeth cleaned. To which they prodded at my gums for 2 minutes and told me I have gum disease. It's been 7 months since I've been to my last dentist- that was a lie. Then they said I wasn't able to have the cleaning at the same time as the xrays so I'd have to come back. I've never been to any dentist where they didn't do xrays and cleaning at the same appointment. Then when walking out, they take me to the consult room (?) to discuss my "treatment plan". To which I then see a bill for $70 for the xrays that weren't covered by insurance - that I didn't even NEED, they just decided to do it - and then $200 for two fillings (again I highly doubt I need two fillings since it's only been 7 months) and then $100 for a "special gingivitis cleaning". To which I ask why I need that cleaning can I just have a normal one. "No legally I can't because we already diagnosed you" I come from a lawyer family. That is not illegal aaaand then I pay what I needed to pay, then call my insurance who says they over billed me and id need to get credited by them. Still waiting on that. 2nd visit: I decided to schedule an appointment to do both fillings. I show up and get into the chair and she immediately wants to do nitrous oxide without talking to me about the appointment whatsoever. I said I do not want the gas because the numbing shot would be just fine. She tried to urge me to use it saying my insurance would cover it. This is a joke right? No ones insurance covers laughing gas and SHE DEFINITELY KNOWS THAT. Then she says I will need to make a 3rd appointment because I can only get one filling at a time. Again a lie. Then tells me "well you look very annoyed right now so I will just do both and you can have a numb mouth that's fine" so then I decide to ask to see my xrays so she can point out which teeth need to be filled. The hygenist was like "here first I need you to sign this consent form..." I'm sorry what lol no show me the xrays before I sign anything. So the dentist huffs and puffs and pulls it up then shows me the photo for *3 seconds* and closes it out super quickly. When I asked if she could go back and physically point it out to me is when she really lost it. "What do you do for a living? Are you a dentist? Did you go to dental school? No, then you won't be able to see it unless you're a dentist" with a horrible attitude towards me. wtf kind of doctor treats a patient like that when they're just trying to see what their problem is on an X-ray?! I said I wanted to go home and think about this first and her remarks were "I think that's a good idea" and then stormed out. The whole thing made me feel very uncomfortable and like they're just trying to scam me. And then I looked up the company that owns Meadows Dental Care. Seriously, do it. There are multiple lawsuits and specific cases of their practices telling people they have gum disease when they really don't. Do not go here. read more

Whoa, talk about awful customer service. I loved this place and raved to co workers, fam, and friends. YOU know that feeling you get when you leave the dentist? the one that reflects a cleaning. you rub your tongue along your teeth and tell everyone that you can feel each individual tooth perfectly. they floss them. they polish them. Well apparently Meadows dental DOESN'T AND if you say it was poorly done they wont believe you. you can even ask to come in to show them. they wont see you. so dont expect the clean feeling when leaving their office. dont expect some one to care about it either. the new staff members are awful and lack basic dental skills. I went in and was told i needed 5 cavities (last yr i only needed 2 refills on my current cavities. suspicious. different staff back then) I was also told i needed 2 cleaning this year. one at the time of the visit and the other in 6 months. (never needed that before either. suspicious.) i told the doctor and the poorly skilled dental hygienist that since i needed 5 cavities I would come in for the 2cd cleaning and fillings on the same day. about 2-4wks after my cleaning. CLEANING? WHAT CLEANING? I was very disappointed in the so called cleaning and decided to speak to management the next day. i talked to the "office manager" and explained that not only did she not floss, get the gunk between the teeth, or polish them she also managed to get the cleaning tool STUCK BETWEEN MY TEETH (bottom front 2 teeth. THE only spot she actually cleaned. by accident) I said she continued to force the tools between my teeth. YES i grunted and squinted my eyes in pain. she then rinsed my mouth and said SEE YOU SOON! I told the manager that my teeth look and feel the same. except now my 2 front teeth are sore and sensitive. i told her that it felt like she just sprayed water in my mouth and called it a day. I suggested she got nervous. maybe scared so stopped the real cleaning. they didn't care what i had to say. or ask to show. My insurance was charged for this "cleaning" and now when i return for my fillings and the 2cd cleaning i would need to pay out of pocket. so I expressed my concerns on paying for the 2cd visit since the first visit was poorly done and my teeth don't have that clean feeling. the manager said she had to ask the doctor. Dr.Patel. they decided (After speaking the hygienist) that the cleaning was done the way they expected it to be done. They seriously need cameras in the room. I was shocked! So I offered to come in and have all 3 (The mgr, the doctor, and the hygienist) look at my teeth and tell me if its properly cleaned. They declined. So basically im left with a dirty mouth. My 1 free annual cleaning WASTED on this office. Me, my husband, our friends, and our family will be going somewhere else! She dead azz asked the hygienist what could she do to help me in front of me! A crown should last longer than 3 years! I have others from like 10-15 years ago! First off, Chelsea is an incredible Office Manager. I watched her interact with patients as I waited a few minutes to go back for my cleaning; what a sweetheart! Once Stacey grabbed me up for my cleaning, everything was set & ready to go. Stacey was nothing short of stellar! I almost fell asleep in the chair during my cleaning and that speaks volumes to her talent as a hygienist because I am not the most relaxed client. Dr. Fukuda might be one of the nicest people I have ever met! After my cleaning, she came into the room to do her thing, explaining everything in detail as we went along. Long story short. Had some work done in February. Was told it would be covered with my insurance. At that point, I was already in the chair. They began to continue their work. A month later, got a bill for over $300. Called and spoke with the office manager. She apologized and then told me it was billed incorrectly and should be about ~$30 for what they fixed. (they added bonding glue to ONE tooth on my bottom back retainer, NOT worth $300). A few weeks pass, get the SAME bill once again (around April). Called and spoke with office manager, informed me that she had submitted the "correct" billing code and not worry about it that it would take a couple of weeks. Flash foward to a couple of weeks (now June) I received a statement dated May 27. Nothing has changed. Save yourself the headache folks. Needless to say, I found a new dental office. Family Dentistry on Manchaca! HIGHLY recommended. Dr. A and her staff are amazing. *update* June 12. Called the office around 10am. Office staff said the manager was busy with a client and that she would call me back. No call back. Also, left a VM on that number which was left as a comment under my review. Dr. Luana Badea was up front about pricing and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. I recommend being honest with them about your needs and budget before they start the exam so they can work with you. Dr. Badea and staff were very understanding and courteous once I explained where I was coming from. On my first visit I told the dentist that I didn't want anything extra. No night guards, whitening treatments, aligners, nothing for aesthetics- I just want a check up and to know if I have cavities. Dr. Badea was understanding and didn't try to sell me anything. I also told her that I only wanted procedures that were covered by my insurance, I wasn't going to pay for the extra x-rays on the fancy new machine or whatever. Dr. Badea and the office staff made sure that they only did procedures that were covered. The service was so good that I brought my son back the next day to be seen by them, as well. read more

Dr. Herzog & his staff are excellent! From my 1st phone call to our visits to follow-up calls - this dentist is top-notch. I highly recommend this practice. The entire staff is incredibly personable and kind, and they go the extra mile. After my first appointment, I sat down with their financing lady (Jolee) who answered questions about my dental coverage and even petitioned my insurance to cover new treatment for me (I was approved)! Dr. Herzog was very upfront about saving us money & avoiding costly procedures, and his staff checked with my insurance to ensure complete coverage before treatment. Their facility is brand-new & very modern, plus we received free teeth whitening "for life" as long as we go every 6 months! The whitening gel works well & we got free plastic teeth molds to use. The staff was super nice and pleasant on the phone and when I got to the office. I had verified they were on my plan, even having email confirmation, prior to arriving. After I had my visit with the tech and Dr. Herzog, I was to sit down with the finance lady to discuss my insurance coverage and plan. There was an issue and she was unable to access my profile, but told me she would call after hours and let me know what she was able to find out. She wasn't able to get through to my insurance, but she was able to check with her corporate office. She called to tell me that my plan was not one they participated in. Super disappointed. I had heard such great things about this office and was ready to get my teeth tended to. Now I'm back at square one, and I wasted time away from the office, which isn't easy to facilitate. I would recommend triple checking with them to make sure they take your insurance. so you don't waste your nerves and your time. Only thing I got was thorough x-rays and a consultation to review the issues they found. Now I know what I face, but no dentist to fix it until I go through this rigamaroll all over again. I use to love this place. Did not recognize the technician. This is the first time in my life that I had my teeth polish first and then stain scraping?. She was very vocal about how much she thought my teeth were stained. Counted 7 her things like, " wow your teeth are yellow!" And the highlight was when she stopped in the midfield of cleaning my teeth and said, " have you ever stopped, looked at your teeth and wondered why they are so stained"?. This was the cleaning ever. She copped more of an attitude when I rebuttaled that I'm 45 and I'm well aware of what stains teeth and I know the technicians would have told me in March, last time I was here how stained they were if they were. She very rough. Asked her to stop once and she wouldn't so I had to physically push her hands away from my mouth. Dr Patel came in. They wouldn't tell me where my dentist was. I told her that I just wanted stop and go home. Apparently, I don't have a name and was disappeared because I was none as " this guy" as she spoke to the nurse. I told her that I thought I was coming in for some fillings to be redone. Her snooty reply was, "your the last appointment of the day. Why would we do that"? Again asked if we could reschedule he exam because I just want to go home. Dr Patel got mad and threw her tool on the tray got up and walking away and said in an angry voice," don't charge him, I didn't even complete the exam!". I told the technician that she was rude and condescending. In a docile voice, which was new to me, " I'm just trying to educate you". I get paid to educate. I would be fired if I treated or spoke to someone the same way she did. My co teacher have no problem telling me what's wrong with me or what I'm wearing. The following day I asked them, if they thought that my teeth needed to be bleached before I went to the dentist. They said, "no". I recommend this dental office Dr. Badea I feel like is a great dentist, she's very honest about needed treatment! For example she did a filling on my daughter's tooth ( baby tooth that was already loose) rather than telling us we needed a baby root canal like the previous dentist did. I really loved the honesty about our treatment rather than charging us $1000+ dollars like the previous dentist suggested. Dr. Badea is also wonderful with kids. She fully interacts with the kids, makes them comfortable, she doesn't push them during the exam because she wants them to have good experiences to build on for the next visit. When I needed fillings the dentist she was lazy and only took care of one side of my mouth and they up charge the procedure so insurance never even covers the fillings. Worst dental experience. Had my initial dental appointment where I wanted a cleaning and wisdom teeth removal. Everything went fine until I scheduled the bottom teeth to be removed. On the day of, was called an hour before my appointment to ask me to come in early which I did. I get there and Dr. Badea cancels the procedure... after that experience, I continue to get bills upon bills when it turns out they still have not submitted any claims to my insurance. It has been 4 months since the procedure. I call the office multiple times with no response to voicemails. The office manager left me on hold for 20 minutes, said not to worry and I still get bills that I owe almost 2 grand. Hopefully they have answers when I go in person to the office. read more

I've been a patient here for years and this last visit was horrible!! The dental hygienist was condescending, rude, and acted like she didn't want to be there. She commented how I hadn't been there in awhile and that although my teeth are pretty I've got issues. She was rough when doing the X-rays and then kept saying "uh oh" "oh wow" "that's not good" and then didn't explain anything! The dentist came in and blew some air in my teeth, poked around and then just left. The dental hygienist refused to clean my teeth saying "honey, you are way past that" She then sent in the front desk lady to come give me prices on a cavity and some deep cleaning . They didn't even tell me I had a cavity!! I felt so uncomfortable and could not wait to get out of there. This is not how you should treat your patients and the new change in dentist and staff have significantly gone down hill. I won't ever be back!!! read more

I loved the services here, the Dr was amazing, the dental assistants were so friendly & the hispanic front desk girl was so sweet. Only had a problem with the older lady with gray hair that was around the front desk area. She had a very sassy demeanor and was talking to us in an annoyed tone & was being rude when I explained something to her. Only reason i did not give this place a 5 star was because of her. :/ read more
