If you want a true and honest review, this is truly it! I NEVER leave reviews (good or bad), unless it has really created a huge impact on me. Dr. Patel and his team have made such a huge impact over the years, that they've become family. My work involved crowns, extractions, and bridge work. My dental issues began at 4-years-old after experiencing a serious fall. It caused severe damage to the root and my nerve in the front tooth. Several dentists refused to do the work, and the repair and "cosmetic" costs (very visible chipped tooth) were just too much for my family to bear. I'm a huge extrovert and a people person. So as you can imagine, these dental issues caused huge insecurities in my life. I was determined to get this resolved, but I just needed the right professional to complete the work. I was working in Lakeway at the time and just happened to call and stop by their office after work. They were closing for the day, but welcomed me in with open arms. They took a look at my teeth, took x-rays right away (because I was living and going to college in Waco at the time), and wrote up a treatment plan all in that 1 short visit. About 2 hrs later, and there were absolutely no complaints that it had become dark outside. I'm sure you can imagine the joy I felt knowing that this would finally get done. As a young, married college student paying out-of-pocket for my education, family, and dental work, I needed time and flexibility to pay for my work. Jenny (o how I love Jenny...and you too Angela :) ) always stayed so positive and patient with our situation. We paid for certain treatments as we could afford them, and they always found ways to work with our insurance and try to lower the costs as much as possible (sorry Pearl P...but I have to disagree with your post). Just thinking about our constant calls and emails just makes me tear up. What should've been a 6-month treatment plan, ultimately turned into almost 3 years! Graduations, several moves, and a new baby later, and we have finally finished!! Dr. Patel and Kelly are truly miracle workers. They are soooo amazing and always make sure that I'm comfortable and relaxed during each visit. I live in Dallas now, and I refuse to go anywhere else. They are truly the best!! I hold an exec position at work, and now I'm so comfortable controlling my meetings and chatting with my employees. You can now find me holding my head up high, laughing, and smiling without covering my mouth with my hands. I'm beyond grateful for Dr. Patel and his team. I unfortunately was born with bad genetics when it comes to my overall oral health. I have a narrow gum line that did not allow room for my adult teeth. I wore braces all four years of high school, but many of my issues weren't corrected. Issues such as an end on end bite that continued to erode my front teeth until my roots were exposed, baby teeth that were never extracted, missing adult teeth that never grew in, enamel eroding away from most teeth, and the ability to chew with only two back molars on one side of my mouth. Needless to say, my mouth was in constant pain, food was impossible to chew, and I was extremely insecure with my smile. I was overwhelmed with the recommendations from every dentist suggesting a 3-5 year plan with braces, jaw surgery, and a price point unattainable with my budget. My sister even decided to forgo the 3-5 year plan suggested by her dentist and proceed with dentures. I knew dentures come with a lifetime of discomfort, so I began my research for alternative methods. During my months of research I came in contact with an old friend of mine, that I hadn't seen in quite some time, and noticed his impeccable smile. He told me his issues were solved through cosmetic dentistry and couldn't recommend his dentist enough. I took his advice and made my free appointment expecting some pretentious doctor's office pressuring me into the most expensive procedure until I became uncomfortable and left disappointed. I COULDN'T BE MORE WRONG!!!! Number 1: His staff couldn't be more friendly. They were very upfront about the cost of the procedure and were more than happy to explain every detail about the world of cosmetic dentistry. Number 2: Do yourself a favor and research Dr. Patel's resume. After his in-depth explanations about the recommended procedure and cost, what truly sold me was the fact that another dentist from out of state brought his staff to simply observe Dr. Patel in action. That should tell you that this guy is the best of the best. Number 3: After understanding what expertise is required for cosmetic dentistry, and the fact that my problems could be solved without jaw surgery, braces, and a 3-5 year time frame, I quickly appreciated the cost of my procedure. IT'S WORTH IT!! My procedure was a total of four appointments that corrected my end on end bite with my front teeth. My crowns have the perfect size, shape, color, and look very NATURAL. Also, I can finally chew properly. The end result is a much healthier mouth, beautiful teeth, and no more pain. Please don't procrastinate about your oral health. The King of Crowns! What a great experience! Everyone was just lovely, from the moment I was warmly greeted to the time I left. Dr. Patel and his staff did an amazing job on replacing my 26 year old crown. Every painstaking and meticulous detail went into creating my new front porcelain tooth. My family cannot differentiate between the two front teeth, as to which one is the crown. Best of all, I can't, either! This is a result of the perfectionism of Dr. Patel and company. You will be in good hands! As an added bonus, they have coffee and baked goodies (great takeaway when I was finished, as I try not to eat before going to the dentist) and they validate parking for the garage on the same block as the office (the structure adjacent, to the south). Just have to update after noticing a few bad reviews from people that didn't have work performed with this place. No one is entitled to treat staff rudely at any establishment. For one reviewer, she believes the world owes her something, based on her other reviews. As far as the other reviewer, providing TMI, claiming to have only a chipped tooth? Her photo shows three estimates of four crowns/upper arch rebuilding, not a chipped tooth. That pricing is consistent with all cosmetic dentists for that kind of rebuilding of the arch. I used insurance, so my cost will vary from the next, but I can assure you, I shopped around- this is high quality work for what I consider to be a very reasonable price. read more

Although many claim to practice in the field of cosmetic dentistry, there are only a few who have not only mastered basic anatomy but also flawlessly translated it into a creative process. I went to Dr. Patel after doing extensive research for the "Best Cosmetic Dentist in Austin" and I know hands down I found him! I went to several consults at different cosmetic dental office and ultimately chose to do my Smile Makeover with Dr. Patel because I knew after meeting him and speaking to him and his staff I would get the exact smile I envisioned. Dr. P and his staff took time to explain the process, the different shapes of teeth that would look best with my facial features. They also valued my input and showed me many of their before and afters of his amazing cosmetic work. I had been debating veneers for a few years. Having grown up in west Texas, I had very heavy staining from the minerals in the well water there. I have a friend that works in orthodontics, and I asked him for a recommendation for a cosmetic dentist. He told me "If I had a relative that wanted veneers, I would send them to Dr. Patel." That was a very strong recommendation, and I made my appointment the next day. The whole process from start to finish was about 3 weeks. After I was prepped, and had temporary veneers put in place while the permanents were being fabricated. On day 3 while in temporaries, I broke a piece of the temporary incisor off, and even though their office was closed that day, he let me come in, and took care of me. Dr. Patel is very kind and compassionate, and he and his staff go the extra 10 miles to make sure their customers are happy. It was a fantastic experience; I'm incredibly happy with my outcome! If I had family that wanted to have work done, I would absolutely send them to Dr. Patel! read more

I chose Lakeway Smiles because they're a reliable office with many good reviews, and have sedation options. For me going to the dentist is very very taxing, as It causes me extreme anxiety. Because of that reason I hadn't gone to a dentist in years, since the last one I had seen treated me with no respect and hurt very badly. But the workers here were very very helpful, and treated me with understanding knowing I was scared out of my wits. I had to get a lot of work done, during the procedures I experienced no notable pain, and was comfortable the entire time. Dr. Patel is the best dentist I have ever been to, and from now on I'm swearing by him and his office. But, to top it off, the prices here are great too and they accept many insurance and payment options. 15/10 Best Office, Best Attitude, and my teeth look amazing now. I went to visit Dr. Patel's office for the first time and had the best experience I've ever had at a dental office to date. I was warmly welcomed by Carmen at the front desk who was so bubbly, welcoming and very conversational. She got me checked in right away and although I would have loved to talk to her all day, I got called back immediately and on schedule for my appt. I was again warmly greeted by Danielle, the hygienist, who was nothing short of amazing. Very kind, professional and knowledgeable in her field. She made me feel comfortable and right away, it felt like I've known her for years. I highly recommend this office and the staff. Above all, I felt like they are a trust worthy group who does right by their patients. Dr. Tejas Patel is an amazing person, and a talented dentist! After being referred to - and consulting with several cosmetic dentists in Austin, I chose Dr. Patel. He was attentive, patient and listened carefully to my desires as he and his staff designed my dental plan. I decided to go with porcelain veneers and started the journey to a beautiful smile. After several long term delays (due to my health and busness-related travel and ultimately moving out of state), I was finally able to come back to Texas, (1300 miles away) to complete the process. Excellent customer service from Carmen, prompt and courteous replies to all inquiries and Dr.Patel always fits me into the schedule right away when I'm in pain or have time sensitive issue. Kelly, the hygienist extraordinaire, is kind, attentive, funny, gentle and compassionate. Dr. Patel has a bed side manner and professionalism worth 10 stars. When I receive pain numbing shots I barely feel them and he takes extreme care to let me take breaks and make sure that I am ok due to jaw pain from TMJ during any lengthy procedure. I'm not sure how Dr. Patel stays on track during the day ( but he does I haven't waited more them 5 minutes to see him) , yet he makes me feel that my time and concerns are valuable and ensures that all of my questions and concerns have been addressed. 10 star service at Austin Cosmetic Dentistry from every single person in that office! read more

Every time I enter Dr. Patel's dentistry I feel at home. The Front desk is ladies are always on point and cheerful. talking to them before I get my teach cleaned calms me and reassures me that it will be a fun and happy experience. Every single one of the dental assistants are PROS as well. I haven't once been unsatisfied in the years that I have been going t see them all. They are fast and efficient and just a welcoming as the front desk. On top of it all you get a visit from the man himself Dr. Patel which you would think he would be so busy.... but to give his own personal touches and advice on how to move forward with each appointment and draws yo in to complete the family dentistry feel. I have been a patient at Dr. Patel's office for about two years now and will continue to be as long as I live in Austin (even though they are not even in network for me anymore). The staff are incredible and some of the most warm and caring people I've ever met in the medical industry (not exaggerating). Dr. Patel is just plain AWESOME. Can't say enough great things about the team at Dr. Patel's place. The people I met there were courteous, friendly, respectful, thoughtful, talented professionals devoted to quality care for their patients. Dr. Patel gave my grown son a healthy and beautiful new smile that he doesn't hesitate to flash whenever he gets a chance. Dr. Patel and Kelly (his right-hand at the chair) replaced an ailing crown for me last year. They were most particular about getting just the right color match and a perfect bite. A good dental hygienist is important to me, and Roshni is one of the best. She uses a high speed ultrasonic scaler and doesn't have to scrape my teeth to get them clean. I found this dentist in Lakeway after moving to the area three years ago. I was immediately impressed with both Dr. Patel's bedside manners and that of his staff's customer care and service. Have continued being a regular client even after the practice moved from Lakeway to downtown Austin. All of the hygienist are AMAZING! You won't be led wrong. On the downside, the practice is a trek for me/my family, so I have to make future decisions on looking for a practitioner near my home/work; however, my thoughts are that if all is well and I am primarily maintaining my periodontal maintenance/active care, then my choice should most likely be to stay put, given his extended practice and expertise. read more

I was introduced to Dr. Patel's practice a while back after some very unfortunate dental work. I came into his office to have that repaired. The results were so impressive that I continued working with Dr. Patel to perform additional restorative and cosmetic dentistry that I had always been apprehensive about undertaking. Dr. Patel was the most helpful, nice dentist I've ever gone to. I went in for a veneer consultation and ended up going through the whole veneer procedure. The procedure itself was flawless and Dr. Patel made sure I was perfectly comfortable. I'm extremely impressed with his work as my new teeth blew away my expectations. I was referred to Lakeway Smiles's Downtown location from several co-workers. The location is very convenient for anyone who works downtown. After seeing Dr. Patel for a little over a year I finally made the decision to get 6 veneers done to perfect my smile.
