They've been open for about 7 months now, and I've been back a handful of times, so figured I'd update my review to just say - they're still amazing! And seems like they're upgrading as time goes on. More teacup selections, they added some limited addition holiday flavors, they've got classes going on, and they even added coffee to their menu (although definitely not the main focal point of the store, just there as an option if you want it!) Owners are the nicest people ever and take such good care of you. If you visit often, they'll even remember you and hold conversations with you as well :) it's a lovely experience all around. Go support them! They're my favorite small business & they are slowly gaining traction, but as we all know, especially in this economy, small businesses need all the love they can get! Even as much as I'd love to gate keep this place all to myself because of how much I love it, that's just me being selfish haha. Go try them and spread the word :) read more

I had gone back and forth on whether or not to write a review for this place, but decided to make my thoughts known. For context, we came here the second month after their opening, in April 2025. As a longtime tea drinker, I was excited to learn that SereniTea was opening up in Cedar Park. The general Austin area had long been a loose leaf tea desert, with the focus on drinking tea for health benefits and general enjoyment versus the overpopularized bubble tea. It wasn't too hard to find this place off of Bell Blvd, and there was ample parking available. Walking in, we saw an assortment of teas available, complete with the barware to match. There weren't any customers there when we arrived. Yet it took a little while before a worker came out of the kitchen to serve us. We were told to sit anywhere, and after having chosen our table, we were given menus to look at. For what this place is, we thought the prices here are a bit expensive, especially for the specialty and premium teas. We decided to order a flight so we could try out different teas. The teas we ordered were Celestial Empress, Dragons Ember, Jasmine, and White Peony. Unfortunately, it took a long time to fulfill our order. We saw a total of 3 people working to heat up the water, measure out the loose leaf tea, and get all the teapots ready. But still, we ended up waiting about 20 minutes before everything came out. We can understand that they were probably still working out the kinks of running a new business, but we think they could have benefited from a soft opening before announcing their grand opening. Looking at what we were served, we were appalled to see how much tea leaves were wasted in the preparation process. They have tea leaves in both a small cup to allow you to smell the leaves after they have been steeped, and also more tea leaves in the teapots steeping for the tea itself. As for the tea tasting, none were particularly memorable. The teas we chose were from different categories of teas: black, oolong, green, and white. Because the tea leaves were left in the pot with no way to remove them after the tea was done steeping, the teas became oversteeped and developed a bitter taste. This was the case for all four, including the white tea which is usually considered the most palatable. I had the highest hope for the Jasmine tea, which is a delicate tea that tastes other-worldly when prepared and steeped correctly. If oversteeped, the experience is destroyed and you're left with a bitter tea more reminiscent of a poor quality black tea. Though Jasmine is one of my favorite teas to drink (I grew up drinking this since I was a child), I couldn't finish it here because of how bitter the tea became. We were also upset that we couldn't get more hot water added without paying an additional fee. Like, really?!? I don't know of anywhere that charges for water refills. Besides, I thought we were paying for the tea leaves and service, not the water? After bringing up our complaints to the worker, who apparently is one of the owners, we were dismissed as she said that the way they prepared the teas was the only correct way. I don't know if she was just being prideful or if she really thought that she had done well. Either way, it didn't seem like she took criticism well, nor did it seem like she knew the relational intricacies of loose leaf teas, water temp, portion sizes, the length of steeping tea leaves...and many more variables. All in all, our experience had many red flags. I hate to be so critical of small business owners, especially new ones. If this place was a chain, I'd give them one star; but because they're independent, I guess I'll give them two stars. read more

Serenity has been found at SereniTea! The definition of a hidden gem in the north Austin/Cedar park area. What an amazing place and is a 5/5 must visit for anyone who's a fanatic of tea (and coffee too! ) The staff were very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. I'm not a tea enthusiast by any means but this was such an enjoyable experience and the menu is loaded with options that anyone can enjoy! Seating is pretty spacious and parking isn't terrible in the shopping center it's tucked away into. We ordered a flight of the blueberry bliss, citrus spice infusion, emerald energy (a blend of matcha and sencha that I highly recommend), and the spicy masala. You get to order a milk of your choice as well (love the fact that there were lactose free options!) and a blueberry scone. I cannot believe I've been missing out this entire time. Can't wait to come back and try another flight of other options because the menu is paced with some amazing options. 5/5 overall experience and highly encourage folks to come here! read more

I was excited to try out a new tea cafe because there aren't that many of them in town. There's a really nice space inside with plentiful seating of different types. We ordered a tea flight for 3 people and it was a decent amount of tea to start with and then decide if you want a pot of one specific one. The teas I got were okay - they felt as if they hadn't been steeped long enough or maybe just weren't very strong to begin with. I'll also say that the menu is a bit difficult to navigate in terms of pricing - it seems like almost all of the teas are "premium" and require you to pay an additional fee to add them on which does drive up the price. I suppose the menu is meant to be accessible to people who don't drink tea as often, but I wish there was more detail on the specific teas rather than just a flavor profile. The one thing I definitely recommend is the scones! They were genuinely the best scones I've had in a while - very melt in your mouth, buttery and not overly sweet. The owner is really friendly. Love this little gem! It's tucked away in a small strip of shops and my GPS weirdly routed me through the back alley, so ignore that if yours does too. Just turn in the entrance to the shopping center on Bell (old 183). The unassuming exterior was so misleading...this place is SO peaceful and charming inside. I was stunned at how well they've renovated the space. The seating options were plenty and all super comfortable and cute. They have a huge shelf along one wall with different teas and accessories for purchase, and the staff at the order counter greeted us and were so friendly, walking us through the process and making sure we were well taken care of. I had originally planned to grab a quick to-go drink because my five year old was with me, but she was also equally charmed and wanted to stay so we indulged in a hot Spicy Masala Chai tea and a ham and cheddar scone. They truly had milk options for everyone, as well as four sweeteners and local honey on the tables. My daughter was thrilled when I let her pick my teacup I was served from the selection on the shelf. Please note that because the service here is top notch, even a single cup of tea will have a wait. They serve parties in the order they arrive and bring the whole order out on a tea cart and serve your party, so it's well worth the wait. We felt so fancy for our little mother-daughter date. The napkins were amazing quality, and the spoon for my tea was so pretty. Even the toilet paper in the bathroom was so luxurious! They really go all out here to make your visir a treat. On top of that, the scone was soooo buttery delicious that I'm still thinking about it, and same with the spicy masala chai! So glad we have a legit tea shop in town at last!! I've been twice to this place and both times I've been extremely satisfied. And this is coming from a guy who prefers coffee over tea. The owner is super nice and helpful and gave us some great recommendations for what to try, even though I am not familiar with teas whatsoever. I heavily recommend their pastries as well. My wife got this apple pear bread thing and it was amazing, whereas I got an adult pop-tart that was very tasty, but no lie you need to get that apple pear bread. I heavily recommend coming here. As a tea enthusiast (addict) I can highly recommend the loose leaf tea they sell at SereniTea Cup! Great selection, high quality, fabulous flavors. I've really been impressed by teas I've had and bought here. As a place to stop for tea and a bite - not my favorite. I did the afternoon tea with a friend earlier this year and the scones, and food served with the tea was just not great. The other thing we found very strange was their afternoon tea service only included ONE pot of tea for TWO people. Every other afternoon tea I've gone to in many states and in more than one country, each person gets to choose their tea flavor and has their own pot of tea. We had to pay extra to get that 2nd flavor/ pot of tea to enjoy. Strange. The class I took with a group of friends was also a bit strange, I was expecting a lot more hands on experience and more tea tasting (there was some tea tasting) for the price. Honestly, this could be a free presentation - it was a slide deck talking about tea. I will certainly be back for tea! And that is what it's all about, after all. I'd been seeing the SereniTea sign on S. Bell Blvd. as I sit in traffic. Finally turned into the shopping center. The tea house is sunny, well-organized, and decorated in calming colors. The atmosphere made me want to linger over a cup. The hostess-owner, Lady Tea Lisa, thoroughly explained the different teas, tea services, and events they offer. There are tea classes and afternoon tea events. Even an art class that comes with tea offerings. I settled on a tea flight of black teas and anti-inflammatory tea from the Wellness menu side. The Spiced Earth Pu-erh is smooth and no hint of bitterness. Loved this one. The Spicy Masala and Anti-Inflammatory teas went well together. The Dragon Ember black has a fresh smell and pleasant taste but was not robust enough for me. They give you the tea leaves they steeped so you can sniff the fragrance. I even got to pick the china teacup design. Made the tea flight much more special. Will definitely be back with my friends. I even invited one of my friends to take a class with me. There are some beautiful looking pastries in their display case I am excited to try next visit. read more

At last!! A tea shop in Cedar Park! We've been a couple of times since SereniTea Cup opened on April 5th. We feel good about enjoying tea and a snack + supporting a local business. Likes 1. Teas & Pastries are reasonably priced. Many of the pastries (maybe all) are gluten free! Try the apple & pear cake slices. Yummy, and they don't leave you feeling heavy. 2. There is actually room to sit down and enjoy your tea and pastry. 3. The atmosphere is modern and charming. 4. The service is great (Lisa, the owner and all her staff really care about you and tea). You can try a "tea flight" (5 teas) and the selection is pretty large. 5. If you like what you've tried, you can buy the tea. Plus, there's a nice selection of tea accessories, including a 40-ounce clear teapot with infuser which is amazing! More Likes 1. The location. My wife brought me here to this wonderful tea room experience awhile back. First, the owner has set this up so beautiful inside, and there is a nook set of tables on one side that, with the ambiance lighting, and jazz music playing, makes you feel cozy, and warm. The owner goes out of her way to make sure you get a great experience as well. The staff exhibits the same quality. You also get the full breadth of the experience, as you get to choose from an array of tea cups, and the assortment of brewed tea is outstanding! However, I have to mention their scones they have out front, which are just as delicious as they look! We used to go to a place called the Tea Room years ago that is no longer around. That was good, but there's something unique and different about this place. Something nurturing for the soul. I recently just got back from a business trip to Phoenix. Tired and beat. We went here after and I just felt restored, grounded again. It's a favorite of mine!! You'll love Lisa the owner, she is just a sweet person through and through. You'll feel it when you meet her.
