Your Yelper Girl checking in! My sis and I attended a Holiday Tea, and it was such an amazing experience! It is such a cute place! The owner, Lisa, was welcoming and friendly. We were a little early for our tea time, but she made us feel right at home, and we enjoyed looking at her shop. We were seated in a cozy corner and our holiday tea was fantastic! The best tea and the tower of sandwiches and sweet treats was outstanding! We will definitely go again!

Love this little gem! It's tucked away in a small strip of shops and my GPS weirdly routed me through the back alley, so ignore that if yours does too. Just turn in the entrance to the shopping center on Bell (old 183). The unassuming exterior was so misleading...this place is SO peaceful and charming inside. I was stunned at how well they've renovated the space. The seating options were plenty and all super comfortable and cute. They have a huge shelf along one wall with different teas and accessories for purchase, and the staff at the order counter greeted us and were so friendly, walking us through the process and making sure we were well taken care of. I had originally planned to grab a quick to-go drink because my five year old was with me, but she was also equally charmed and wanted to stay so we indulged in a hot Spicy Masala Chai tea and a ham and cheddar scone. They truly had milk options for everyone, as well as four sweeteners and local honey on the tables. My daughter was thrilled when I let her pick my teacup I was served from the selection on the shelf. Please note that because the service here is top notch, even a single cup of tea will have a wait. They serve parties in the order they arrive and bring the whole order out on a tea cart and serve your party, so it's well worth the wait. We felt so fancy for our little mother-daughter date. The napkins were amazing quality, and the spoon for my tea was so pretty. Even the toilet paper in the bathroom was so luxurious! They really go all out here to make your visir a treat. On top of that, the scone was soooo buttery delicious that I'm still thinking about it, and same with the spicy masala chai! So glad we have a legit tea shop in town at last!! PS-they also host occasional afternoon tea, and the current price is $45, which is a steal for rhe Austin area!

I'd been seeing the SereniTea sign on S. Bell Blvd. as I sit in traffic. Finally turned into the shopping center. The tea house is sunny, well-organized, and decorated in calming colors. The atmosphere made me want to linger over a cup. The hostess-owner, Lady Tea Lisa, thoroughly explained the different teas, tea services, and events they offer. There are tea classes and afternoon tea events. Even an art class that comes with tea offerings. I settled on a tea flight of black teas and anti-inflammatory tea from the Wellness menu side. The Spiced Earth Pu-erh is smooth and no hint of bitterness. Loved this one. The Spicy Masala and Anti-Inflammatory teas went well together. The Dragon Ember black has a fresh smell and pleasant taste but was not robust enough for me. They give you the tea leaves they steeped so you can sniff the fragrance. I even got to pick the china teacup design. Made the tea flight much more special. Will definitely be back with my friends. I even invited one of my friends to take a class with me. There are some beautiful looking pastries in their display case I am excited to try next visit.

Accidentally ate the yummy cinnamon scone too fast! This is vanilla chai and golden tea.

But we received a BOGO coupon in the mail, and sure enough we wanted to try them out again. When we got there, the bobarista happily accepted the coupon and took our order. I went for their Lychee Green Tea and P2 ordered their Uber Smoothie. It didn't take too long for our drinks to come out, around 5-7 minutes. We were seated on some comfy chairs, and the bobarista served our drinks to us. I think presentation-wise, they did a good job. They claim to have "beverage aesthetics" and I tend to agree. Does having good "beverage aesthetics" make a drink taste better? No, definitely not. We both thought our drinks weren't too bad, however. I had ordered my drink with 0% sugar but I added boba to mine. My drink also already came with lychee coconut, so the two toppings sweetened my drink naturally. P2 complained that her drink was still too sweet for her liking. We appreciated the service and the pleasant ambience inside. I took off a star because the drinks were just too expensive. Without a coupon, I don't think we would come back here with drinks costing $7-8 each!

The Austin English Tea Company brings all of the aesthetics, ambiance, and flavors you'd expect in a proper British tea room. Spent a lovely Sunday Funday morning with friends celebrating Galentine's Day (albeit a day later) with fresh and yummy tea sandwiches, scones, clotted cream, mini, quiche, cream puffs, macarons, Prosecco, and more. We had four pots of tea: Classic English Breakfast, Earl Gray, Peach White, and Coconut Oolong. It goes without saying that the English Brekkie and Earl Gray were perfectly brewed and delicious. The Peach White and Coconut Oolong were also perfectly brewed. The Peach White was fragrant and flavorful. Same for the Coconut Oolong though it was more fragrant with a less robust flavor. Still delicious. The tea sandwiches were served on perfectly fresh and soft white bread. Cucumber and cream cheese sandwiches are always my favorite, without question. The Strawberry Devonshire Scone was to die for! I really enjoyed the heart-shaped Rosemary biscuit that had a hint of parmesean flavor as well. The apricot Stilton cheese was flavorful and exactly how you want a Stilton to taste. Service was outstanding. The decor was brilliant, absolute perfection. The entire experience was reminiscent of tea rooms I've visited in England and Ireland. Looking forward to another visit soon! Note: the tea room is located inside Michelle's Patisserie in a shopping plaza---once you enter the tea room you're totally transported to another time and place of elegance, tea, & sweets.

So, if a drink needs to be steeped, they will wait until every drink in front of it has been finished to even start the 5-10 minute steeping process, instead of starting to steep the leaves while they work on blended drinks. Three employees wander around aimlessly while dozens of people wait for a single, simple drink. Most other boba places are able to get drinks out within a minute or two. What is your excuse? There is truly no reason for a single milk tea to take 30 minutes. Fix your training. EDIT: In response to the owner, I do understand that popularity will slow things down, but that wasn't what I was observing. It was a steady trickle of guests coming in every few minutes, and it seems like the crowd was created from congestion of orders stacking up at a higher rate in than they were going out. Orders were only being handed out every several minutes, and while I have also worked in food service/retail and understand having to take breaks and slow down sometimes, the employees seemed like they were just meandering about without a care in the world. I'm truly not sure why, at the very least, steeping wouldn't be started early. I go to a lot of boba places, and I've had many good friends who work (or worked) at boba places, even if I have not directly worked at one myself. The employee behavior was not like anything I've ever seen before.

We made the drive up north to try it before they close since they carry some Vietnamese snacks that are hard to find in Austin. Their menu is extensive covering drinks, desserts, and snacks so it took us a while to decide on our order. All their drinks are lactose free which was great to hear. The staff was nice but it did take a while for everything to come out. Peppermint Pandan Latte / Sam Dua Bac Ha ($6.95) + Crystal Boba ($0.95): We got this at 75% sweet and it was delicious. You can distinctly taste both the peppermint and pandan and it was really refreshing. Matcha Lover ($8.75): We got this at 75% sweet as well. It is a matcha latte with matcha foam, matcha pudding, and matcha mochi. We were not huge fans of this one. The foam was really thick and creamy which made it hard to mix, and the drink had a strange taste that we think came from the flour on the matcha mochi. I think it would have been better if we had eaten the mochi off the top first before mixing everything together. Popcorn Chicken ($8.75): This was okay. They used a different type of batter than what I am used to and it was pretty bland. I didn't like the chili dipping sauce either. Taiwanese popcorn chicken is still way better to me. Mixed Soft Rice Paper With Full Topping / BT Phoi Suong Full Topping ($14): This was our first time having banh trang tron with dried meat and seafood toppings. It also came with a sliced hard boiled egg instead of quail eggs. Very interesting and different. I really wished it came with tamarind sauce because that was the one flavor I felt was missing and would have tied everything together. The portion size also felt a bit small for the price.
