I saw Dr. Vijay Dalapathi, who is apparently a new hire there. I went in for symptoms I was afraid was Ulcerated Colitis since my dad had it. During the visit, I mentioned I had a funny, particularly foul smell to my you know what for several months. He immediatlely dismissed the information and said, "Nah, that's not important". A few months later, I'm having far worse issues and come to find out I have IBD, like Celiac disease. It turns out my information was a big clue indicating IBD that anyone who uses google could have identified the information as a definitive symptom. He dismissed it and made me feel stupid for even offering the information. Kind of makes me wonder whether he cared or was lacking knowledge. Either way, I won't be seeing him again. My first appointment I waited about 15 minutes in the waiting area and then had to wait another 45 minutes or so in the exam room. During that time no one came to update me as to any delays or why the wait was so long. I was just about to leave when the PA came in. We discussed my situation and there were some tests that she felt was needed. I questioned one test but was told it was standard for certain issues. I didn't agree but decided to schedule both procedures. It went downhill from there. I had a very difficult time getting a treatment scheduled with their recommended provider. It's extremely difficult to reach anyone at this practice by phone. I had to go through the patient portal for help. I felt like a number and it seems that this practice herds their overloaded patient loads through like cattle. The majority calls I got were to discuss my patient portion for the procedures. I didn't even get to meet the doctor who would be performing the procedures. Sorry, but I'm not comfortable meeting you the morning of. I cancelled my procedures and made an appointment with another doctor, who did not push a bunch of tests, treatments, and procedures but wants to go step by step adding only what's needed. Of course, I've not heard from anyone at this practice for any follow up at all. Too long wait times; cold and impersonal service; a focus on money and not the patient. No thanks. read more

SCAM. I had a procedure done over a year ago and paid in full at the time of procedure. A year later they sent an additional bill for $360 with no explanation. I refused to pay their scam and they put it on my credit report. Don't trust these scammers. read more

I could not appreciate more the professionalism and competence of Elizabeth Bishop, P.A.-C. After dealing with several issues for many years, I was recommended by Euphora Health to Austin Gastro, as the best place to deal with these issues. After meeting PA Bishop, she gave me new medicine and had me scheduled for care in a few short days. To date, I have not had any issues or flare ups. I would definitely recommend seeing her and Austin Gastro if needed. read more

I was scheduled to see Dr. Zieberth in hopes to find a solution to an issue with my stomach. I was very dissatisfied from the beginning. The office never answers and when they return your call they know nothing. Going into the appointment the doctor felt my stomach and asked a few questions and left, all within 5 minutes. He never showed any real concern or care about me. It seems as if this facility is overwhelmed by patients that they are just trying to get you in and out the door. In the end after 1,000 or more in test cost. The results were less than helpful. They informed me stomach issue was in my head and syndrome that was incurable. I got a second opinion and confirmed they pretty much gave me an excuse diagnosis to get me out of their care. I would Not recommend anyone come here. read more

We've already had to change doctors bc the first one only works on Wednesday in the office! Not to mention there was no follow up from the procedure that left us and the doctor with questions. Dr. Singh is the BEST doctor whom has ever treated me. He speaks with me in terms I understand and for as long as I need at appointments. He ha an incredible bedside manner. In the past 12 months, I have had 5 different procedures with three different doctors. While we are still seeking some answers, I know my health and well being are in the best possible hands. I've been very pleased with Austin Gastro and Dr. Poreddy. Sometimes it's hard to get in, but they are helpful, patient and knowledgeable. They diagnosed my gallbladder after being told by another doctor that I had something completely different! Did my colonoscopy & endoscopy and diagnosed my gluten intolerance and is now helping me to try and reverse my fatty liver. read more

I have had upper GI issues my whole life and out of all the GI doctors I have seen Doctor Stassen and PA Jessica Langston have been by far the most helpful. They take time to read your chart and listen to your symptoms to try to find a route (reliable and accurate tests and/or over the counter medication) to help properly diagnose you and get you feeling better ASAP! They are always nice and upbeat, I am so thankful for all their help. read more

I just spent an hour waiting on hold for the "next representative". AN HOUR! Never got to speak to one. I finally hung up. The patient portal is no help. Also, the recording while on hold is very annoying. The voice telling you that all the reps are busy helping someone else interrupts about every 15 seconds. Office staff was okay. MD who had required this followup colonoscopy did not review my patient history and did not perform the procedure he had specified. Instead, performed colonoscopy removing a couple small polyps. When questioned by my wife (who was with me during recovery) about removing remaining large polyp from previous procedure (which was why we were required to have second colonoscopy 6 months later), it was "Oh My Gosh" and i was rushed back into the operating room for a re-do of the day's procedure. Medicare and my advantage insurance provider were billed for two colonoscopy procedures with an hour of each other. What a disaster! We are pursuing this. read more

I wrote a review of this place just recently, which I can no longer locate. I thought businesses could not remove reviews, but it has disappeared. I know they have the market cornered on GI's, but if you can find another provider, you really need to do so. I have been in the ER 3 times, most recently this week, and need to get in to see my established GI dr. I am not able to do this because of they are holding an appointment hostage for a bill they say I owe from SIX years ago. Now I've seen my doctor many times from 2009 to present, and have had several procedures performed, but never has this bill been discussed with me in the last 5 years! I have paid every amount for every office visit, copay, deductible, etc that I have ever been told about by this practice however now all of the sudden they are discovering some bill they claim I didn't pay. The front office staff, the schedulers and the billing people are incredibly rude, and treat patients like they are doing them a favor by even speaking with them. I've explained that I desperately need to get in to see my doctor, only to be told no until I pay some bill they just recently discovered. This is absolutely ridiculous to me that no one knew about this "bill" until this month. This tells me that they need a completely new billing staff. If they can't keep up with bills, payments, etc how can they handle anything else? I wonder if any information is passed along to the doctors that own this practice? I wonder if they know how their patients are treated? I wonder if they know that a patient, who continually winds up in the ER, can't get seen because of a screw up on their end? I doubt the doctor's know any of this. It is truly a shame that we are helpless to change this because people need them, and they know this. They don't have to treat patients with respect because there is another person on the other line that is waiting to make an appointment not knowing the outcome. I've been a patient of Dr. Goddell's for 7 years however I will now have to find another doctor simply because of his staff. read more

I wish I had read the reviews before booking in at this location. My rating is not for Dr. Ellis, but the front desk staff. I have seen Dr. Ellis once before and I would recommend him. However, in the future, I will go out of my way to be seen at a different location. When I arrived today, 20 minutes early for an appt, I was told their system was down but was not given any further information (how this would affect me/my appt). I signed in, sat down, and watched as others were given forms to fill out, were called back to see the dr., etc. I listened to one of the employees tell the others all about who her sister-in-law is dating and the latest tattoos she's had done. After my appointment time passed, I approached the front desk to find out if there was something I was supposed to be filling out. Again, they told me their system was down. At this point, I was informed that they had "no idea" when I would be seen and I could either wait or cancel. I chose the later. I understand having your hands tied when you are dependent on a system that is not available. I wish that, rather than sitting around listening to the goings on of the employees in-laws, I was informed at entry that I had the option to cancel rather that wait indefinitely. read more

I dealt with this practice while experiencing a bout of clostridium difficile, a deadly colon infection! I was misdiagnosed countless times over a period of 3 months! The staff was completely incompetent and I was never sure the doctor would get any message I left for him! I complained to the administrator and while she left me feeling like she would change policies, nothing has changed! The most help I got was from the physician assistant, Julie! She was qualified, competent and she actually cared about my well being! The biggest problem is, this practice is the biggest practice in the area in this specialization! Getting a transfer to a different location takes weeks, and while dealing with an life threatening illness, waiting 2+ weeks seems like an eternity! Btw, I know of what I speak, I am the daughter of a doctor, a former employee of a large clinic and a former employee of a busy pharmacy!! read more

Dr. Poreddy sent me for un-needed gall bladder removal, then took 36 hours to show up at the hospital to which I had to be admitted due to complications. Even the surgeon was upset after repeatedly calling him, as Poreddy delayed treatment while I was in agony. Subsequently he has taken weeks to return calls, patronized me and actually smirked when I asked questions related to my health. He showed no concern for my well-being and is now after me for a co-pay he says I owe, when I have been double-charged for every co-pay and they in fact owe me. It is apparently the policy of his office to charge you a co-pay during your visit, and then bill you by mail. It is six months later and I have finally found a wonderful doctor who is helping me recover. DO NOT SEE POREDDY. read more

Run as fast as you can from Dr. Stassen and his team. He misdiagnosed my husband with IBS for 5 years then after numerous meds and colonoscopies, finally figured out it was colitis. On one of our last visits he prescribed steroids for my husbands worsening stomach issues. Two weeks later my husband took himself off of those and during an office visit let Stassen know he was having serious trouble breathing. Stassen gave him a list of specialists he could make an appt with. An hour later my husband goes to our family doctor who tells him to get to the nearest ER. After 4 days in the hospital he's been diagnosed with advanced heart failure. My husbands doctor was floored that Stassen didn't take the warnings seriously and asked if Stassen even had a medical degree! He and his team are in the business of making money at the cost of patients' health. He's not up on the latest treatments and his mode of operation is.... keep them coming back for treatment whether the treatment works or not--total money grab. read more

Tested me for c diff because I had all the symptoms when it came back negative the only answer they have was colonoscopy which is min 500 out of pocket. Meanwhile I'm sick waiting to be able to pay the deductible to get this procedure done. Don't waste your time spend your co pay somewhere else. read more
