I stayed at the Austin Marriott Downtown and overall had a very good stay. Booked a king room with a city and pool view, and the views were amazing, definitely a highlight. As an elite member, I appreciated the perks, including free high-speed Wi-Fi, a $25 daily food credit, and free coffees, which added nice value to the stay. At its current rates, I think the hotel is decently priced for a downtown Austin location, though I hope prices don't go much higher. Service was generally friendly, but there were a few delays. In-room dining was slow - I called around 8 a.m. twice with no answer, and once the order was placed it took about 25 minutes for the food to arrive. Additionally, the front desk phone can be busy and hard to reach at times, which affected the overall experience and is why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. That said, the staff was consistently nice and friendly in person. The valet attendant, Artem, was especially helpful and friendly and assisted us with bringing our luggage up. The staff at Load & Vine were also very welcoming and pleasant. A luxury hotel. Overall, a solid downtown hotel with great views, good elite benefits, and friendly staff, with some room for improvement in responsiveness and in-room service speed.

This was the fix for flashing smoke alarm.

My room wasn't ready even though I was checking in after 4:00. I have never had that happen before. It was really disappointing since I had left California at the crack of dawn and was two hours late due to flight delays. I was attending a conference and the first event was just a few hours away so all I wanted to do was clean up and get out of my heavy clothes since it was over 90 degrees. The lobby was crowded so there was little room to wait with my suitcase. Eventually, I got a room after making a plea to the person supervising the check in line when I was inquiring about checking my bag so I didn't have to drag it all over the hotel. The room was smaller than I expected but clean and modern. But the first night was rough. The smoke alarm was blinking so much it was steadily lighting up the room at 1:15 AM. The engineer stuck blue duct tape to cover up the light and left it at that for my entire stay. Later on that night, I noticed the refrigerator was gurgling so I went to unplug it. However, I couldn't reach the plug because it was behind the large armoire. When I moved the refrigerator, I noticed there were puddles under it. They ended up putting new one under the desk which made it hard to sit at the desk. It was fun to be in the midst of the Formula One madness but it was also difficult to get to and from the hotel. I am not sure I would stay here again.

Beautiful hotel right in downtown Austin. Great location near the lake and just a couple of blocks from congress bridge otherwise known as bat bridge. Staff are friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel is modern and high tech. The room we stayed in was very large with a great view and lots of windows. There is an elite member lounge with breakfast and afternoon snacks as well as beverages available 24/7. Pool and gym are both really nice. Overall excellent stay and would definitely stay here again! Customer service: 5/5 Amenities: 5/5 Rooms: 5/5 Property: 5/5 Overall: 5/5

Oh my goodness what a night!!! Jordan was there to start us off right. With a smile and shake he quenched our thirst. When it comes to favorite bartenders, this man comes in first. On top of all that, this bar even helped out Their own. Sending us out into Austin with fabulous list of places to roam. We had a great night and yall were the main reason. If only we had a covered patio at Corrine's, it would have been the perfect evening!

It's like the Austin Marriott knew I would not be back for a while - Austin has been my second home for the last several years as it's where I work - but sadly that is about to change as I now work more locally so it was lovely to get here to a beautiful upgraded room! Got a large corner room with floor to ceiling walls that wraps two of the walls - stunning views of Town Lake and the Cityscape! Lovely bedroom area with a desk and sofa that looks out over the city , comfortable bed, wall mounted TV and corridor leading to bathroom area! Loved the room, loved the views and love the gifts that they leave for Ambassador level ! Keeping fingers crossed that Jon changes and Austin becomes my second home again so I can enjoy this hotel again!!

One of the best Marriott hotels I have ever been to in the US! It's in a good location to explore the downtown. You can easily walk to 6th Street where all of the music is playing in about 10 minutes. The capital building is also in walking distance. They have a large gym and rooftop pool with a few restaurants and bars. If you're a gold member or higher, this is the place to stay they treat members very well and the best that I have experienced as platinum. The lounge is ok they have some standard food and drinks but no alcohol. The staff are very friendly and we're helping when I accidentally left some valuables in my room after checking out. Parking is valet and quite expensive so using ride share is a good option.

We had a corner suite so the views were definitely amazingly picturesque of lady bird lake as well as downtown. We stayed here from Friday to Sunday. Our check in, valet, and checkout were super easy and very customer friendly. We had access to the M lounge which is always great for coffee, tea, snacks, and breakfast. We tried both restaurants Corinne and Zanzibar which I have reviewed separately. I definitely recommend trying out Corinne.

Wow! Everyone is so nice here. Visited for a conference and stayed on the 27th floor. The rooms were well kept though no refrigerator. However they will bring you one if you ask for it. Check in was seamless. The hotel walked me through how to use their fancy elevators. The meeting spaces were very spacious and accommodating to the large conference. I like that the hotel replaced bottles of water every day in the room. Only 4 but it's better than nothing. Close to Congress Ave for walking and shopping.

Loaf & Vine shop. Sooo good. Great options

Absolutely loved our stay at Marriott downtown Austin. this hotel is particularly unique and definitely has its own signature. The staff are wonderful, rooms are updated and modern accommodations, but the food is definitely a notch above the rest. We had several compliments from our meeting guests about how they enjoyed the meals throughout the course of the week. I mean, who serves prosciutto as part of a lunch and absolutely nailed it. They also have a lovely little café OnArrival and the hot drinks are superb and very well done. I would absolutely highly recommend this Marriott to anybody who is staying personally or for business as there is a smooth balanced synergy within the entire hotel. Our contact Adrian was wonderful and Charles even stopped by to see us on departure day. Thanks for everything

I went to put my clothes in one of the few drawers and found men's clothes. Thus made me wonder how clean was the room or was it cleaned at all. I handed in the shirts and no one with the staff cared. Sad place to stay!

I learned on checkout that the reason the valet parking was so good was that the parking rate was $59.00 per night!

We also dined at Nido, the hotel's restaurant, for both dinner and breakfast, and it was definitely a highlight. Located on the topmost floor, Nido offers stunning views of the river and downtown Austin. With both indoor and outdoor seating, the ambiance is elegant and ideal for a special evening. During our visit, we saw a couple of groups celebrating birthdays and wedding anniversaries, which shows how perfect this place is for special occasions. The pricing is on the higher side, but it matches the upscale experience and beautiful setting. For dinner, we ordered the Burrata as an appetizer and the Autumn Garden for the main course, along with an American IPA and a Jack Frost cocktail. Everything was delicious, but the Burrata truly stood out as my favorite. Breakfast was equally enjoyable--we had custom-made omelettes with veggies and avocado toast, both fresh and flavorful. Overall, The Loren Hotel, along with Nido, offers a great blend of comfort, excellent food, and a beautiful atmosphere. A perfect choice if you're looking to celebrate something special or simply treat yourself to a high-end experience.

The Friday night gathering was amazing. It was a perfect setting on the eight floor to talk, mingle, and meet new people. The evening was warm enough to go outside on the balcony/deck and have conversations and enjoy a breeze. The room itself is large with a water station and a bar. A few short tables were set up for sitting and a few tall ones for standing. They had a nice selection of drinks from beer and wine to mixed drinks. The food included lobster rolls, sliders (chicken and beef), a tray of different veggies and dips, little balls of cheese and something, and aroncini? My favorite was canapés of Mellon and prosciutto. The saltiness of the prosciutto added to the flavor of the melon. This event was 5***** I blame the architect for the room setup. Why would you put bedrooms on the side of a hotel next to traffic. The noise, honking and sirens. It finally quieted down around 11:30. Saturday was also an issue. They do provide ear plugs and sound machines, neither works for me. I was also surprised there was no lotion in the room. There was no microwave. Everything else in the room was top notch. Robes, slippers, a safe, a bar, and fridge. Overall, the noise is what created the 3*** rating. That was very disappointing.

While I mostly kept to the hotel, when I did venture out, I found that there were lots of great dining options within walking distance. If this stay were not reimbursed, I would have removed a star considering rooms average $500 a night and reliable internet access is expected. However, I was given 2,500 bonus points after calling the front desk when I first noticed I didn't have service. Completely unexpected but very much appreciated and yet another testament to the great service here.

We were supposed to receive nightly turn down service and got one bottle of water and two mini "moon pies" one of the three nights we were there. That was it. The "Butler Pantry" in the morning is kind of a joke. The decaf coffee was cold and the regular coffee was empty one of the three mornings. The Biscoff biscuits and apples were inadequate to qualify as anything other than a nice gesture. The restaurant was closed one of the nights for a "private party" and booked the next night, so we were not able to dine there (we were busy the third night). The accommodations were nice and the shower was great, but not worth the price we paid. We had to call room service for ice, so that was kind of a pain, but they were very quick in bringing it, so not a big deal. I would not stay here in the future.

Two double beds were comfy and plenty of towels. Our first night's stay was decent. Surprised to know they seem to use softened water because it made our skin feel slippery. I noticed the shower gel holder was falling out of the wall. A precarious situation of having to carefully pull the mechanism to dispense without pulling too hard. I did notify the night staff but the next day, it didn't seem like anyone came to fix it. No extra body wash or soap was provided even when I asked for some. The wall sockets with the en-suite appliances was not usable. The electrical outlets weren't working so we couldn't toast anything, use the kettle, or the coffee machine. Couldn't find one with a GFCI breaker to reset that side so gave up. Interestingly, the full-sized fridge and microwave were working ok though. The rod for one of the window curtains fell off while opening them. Because it's floor to ceiling we just left it alone. The common spaces around the property are well decorated, from the Library, Executive board room, kids corner, gym/yoga studio, and outdoor lounge space. Although, the snack/tea/coffee station with Keurig isn't filled maintained often. We had to ask the night staff to refill the water for tea and the lobby water dispenser was constantly low as well. On our second to last day, I found the hot water and still water station downstairs at Simona's. Pros: Clean, comfy, affordable stay. Enjoyed the bottomless drip coffee $5 and their signature Breakfast at Tiffany's latte. Also appreciated them letting us do late checkout and upgrade our room. Cons: Complimentary water station, Keurig / snack station, overall maintenance of room amenities could be handled better. Warning: If booking from 3rd party (BILT, Capital One Portal...) the added parking is not the same price that's on Colton's House's website. It's actually $40/day (with in/out privileges). However if booking directly through Colton House for stays, parking is 50% off at $20. Would we stay here again in the future? Most likely not. For an SLH property, we may look for another better-maintained option in the future.
