It was a nice hotel in general, slightly over priced. However, one of the nights we stayed a man knocked on the door after midnight. Everyone was asleep in the room. The man entered the room without being let in and said "room service". We woke up frightened and said we were in there. The man then ran out! It was a scary experience, especially since we were all women in the room. We talked to the front desk and said no employee should be entering rooms without consent at that time. Would not recommend staying if concerned of safety. read more

This lobby is so loud it's unreal. The rooms are okay, but most you have to walk through the bathroom area to get to the bedroom. The only ice machine in a hotel 30+floors is on the 7th floor. And don't bother asking about the M Club for members....you'll get a cheerful "it's not open! We're a new hotel (over a year, huh?) and they pride themselves on parroting the cheerfulness of the front desk manager. Doesn't mean a thing. They are PROUD the M Club isn't open and they will make you wonder if you're nuts for wondering why a NEW HOTEL (their words) over a year later still hasn't opened it. So business travelers be forewarned. It's the loudest Lobby/bar/restaurant you'll ever be in It's a weird Marriott. I have to stay there, my company makes me, but you don't. read more

I learned on checkout that the reason the valet parking was so good was that the parking rate was $59.00 per night!

I visited this hotel 7/13 - 7/17 for a conference that was hosted at the location. Overall, the staff was great and the accommodations were good. On 7/15 , I arrived at the room shortly after housekeeping and noticed my AirPods and charging cable was stolen from the room. I immediately asked housekeeping to contact a supervisor. The housekeepers on my floor then went into the service elevator area. After 10 minutes and a second call to the front desk, the housekeeping director and security arrived at my room door. The housekeeping director opened the service elevator door with my AirPods in hand and the charging cable. She stated they were in the housekeeper's trash and was not sure how they got there. I explained that everything else on the desk was not thrown in the trash and the charging cable was near the bed at least 10ft away. She did not offer a resolution as to how I could feel safe in my room and neither did the security person (Franklin). After meaningless back and forth conversation, the housekeeping director stated "tell us how we could resolve it". She did not apologize for the incident nor accept any accountability on behalf of the housekeeping staff. Neither her or security could tell us how these types of incidents are handled nor how they plan to keep their customers safe. She did offer a free nights stay after I mentioned we are paying to stay at the hotel and I told her she needed to do better. She said that she will check with the front desk and let us know what they could do. I never saw or heard from her again. Later that day someone from the front desk approached us and apologized for the incident. It was sincere and she wanted to make sure we were ok. We mentioned the housekeeping director was going to reach out to let us know the resolution and she seemed to not know what l was talking about. Ultimately, everything was resolved within our expectations. PLEASE DO NOT TRUST THE HOUSEKEEPING STAFF AT THIS HOTEL. THIS IS CLEARLY NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED TO THEIR CUSTOMERS. read more

This is a great hotel for everything else, yet the gluten free options are not great. For a conference the catering manager mentioned on the first day they would have both flour and corn tortillas...which they only had flour (which many of us can't eat). Just very inconvenient and not following through on food sensitivity options they told us they would have. Had to buy outside food at my own cost. Usually Marriott hotels has been more attentive to this in the past. read more

Amazing stay at this new downtown hotel. The rooftop pool, Zanzibar, and The Lobbyists were all so much fun and worth checking out. Didn't get a chance to hit Corinne, but Im sure that's good as well. Decree, was so helpful and made us feel right at home. This location is right around the corner from the Congress Avenue Bridge where the bats come out at night. The downstairs market had everything you could really ask for. Definitely would recommend staying here to anyone coming to Austin. read more

Wow, the service of this @Marriott was top notch! After a terrible experience @Sheraton next door, Marriott saved the weekend! We arrived and were checked in by professional employees. The bellman, Ethan, took our bags and escorted us to our room. As he engaged in pleasant conversation, he gave us a brief tour of the amenities as we walked to the room. He made sure he put the hang up items in the closet and even offered to fill our ice bucket before he left. Ethan also followed up with us regarding our stay and satisfaction with the hotel as he came out in the cold wind and helped load the bags without being asked when we were leaving. Carlos, in the M room, was just as great! He was very attentive to everyone. He ensured the breakfast items were hot and refreshed regularly. He was courteous and interacted with the guests, as needed. When a guest dropped ALL of the utensils, he patiently just smiled and addressed it. Carlos also took extra precaution when asked about specific gluten free items. This was specially appreciated and kept my family from getting ill. The quality of the service and food selection were 5 stars! In 2024, my customer service expectations are not that high, but Ethan, Carlos, and the front counter staff brought back the joy of great customer service! The Marriott service, from drive up to drive out, changed our weekend from a disaster at the Sheraton to a premium enjoyable experience. We will be back to this Marriott! read more

It's a shame such a great location and property, but they don't have their act together. We went for a conference, the first room we had the AC was not working. My daughter also set in the chair there were crumbs and nuts in it. They moved us to another room with a broken curtain that was stuck open. We finally got moved to a clean room that was working properly. The conference was great, but the elevators don't efficiently so everyone is waiting up to 20min for the elevators. They only have 3 moving and it's a upgraded automatic system that does not function. The conference food options the hotel had out are awful for GF or DF or Vegan. It's a shame with all the ability to make more options now. The absolute worst part is the cost they charge nightly for parking. It's $56 dollars a night, which is ridiculous and they don't have self park. They also charged a high "service" fee for the pool bar on a $18 drink the fee brought the total to $23 for a margarita. I can say the restaurant food has been great, and they have a great Old Fashion. This is a new property and it needs some help, the management is not doing a great job and Marriott is charging a crazy amount for these fees. I can say I won't stay here again. read more

Shane at reception made my entire stay pleasant and enjoyable - nothing further to add other than the hotel is clean, the staff are courteous and attentive, and it's a pretty spacious building with enough room on the ground floor for private meetings and cocktails where you feel you have enough room for intimacy despite many people around you - The restaurant could do with a little primer on serving at tables and the bland food is served perfunctorily enough that you might mistake the place for a diner in Brooklyn - otherwise I enjoyed my stay and will definitely return read more

The rooms were very comfortable and the bathroom was very modern and beautiful. The service was not the best, after staying at different hotels I certainly remember when the service has been great although sad to say not in this case. The person checking you in was not the friendliest or informative in any way it all felt a bit rushed. I still had a great time, the pool was full of people and it was a great vibe. The location of the hotel was perfect to walk to other restaurants or bar hopping although Austin itself was pretty old and dirty, I would have probably had a much better time at the hotel since it was very clean, elegant and the ambience was grrreat. Although misinformed we were told that the club upstairs would be open until 2 am when it actually closed at 10:00 pm, who closes the bar at 10:00 pm on Labor Day weekend? luckily the bar downstairs was open and we were able to indulge ourselves with a few drinks. I did enjoy my stay but I would most likely try another place next time since it lacked a sense of hospitality. read more

Why is it that the fancier the hotel, the less chance of getting a cup of coffee when you head out at 5:30am. Residence Inn and Courtyard always have coffee early in the morning. At the Marriott Downtown, nothing is available. Stop trying to be so fancy and instead give good service. People will notice. (Oh, and $54 per day to park? Hahaha. Super disappointed with the management here! Everything from the manager of Zanzibar who was super rude and would not let our group of 6 do split checks, the pool manager who made us dump out our plastic water bottles before entering the pool because you have to purchase their water, and the grand finale was when I was quoted one rate on my room... had all the appropriate paperwork... after checking out they charged me a higher rate. Through many emails back and fourth with the finance manager, where I provide phone call logs with their staff and written documentation, they still refused to honor the correct price. I am so shocked at their lack of customer service. They should have done the right thing... and they really failed big to do so. read more

Poorly staffed Fed-Ex causes long lines and poor service. Over $1000 in fees at local society meeting for inbound and outbound packages- 4 total... on top of the usual Fed-Ex rate. Rooms small & over priced. Expensive valet parking is only option ($56 daily). No room service and hotel restaurants leave much to be desired and are over priced. read more

Valet parking reached capacity early-and they said they had no disabled parking--I would have to park at a garage across the street! We are at this hotel currently. It's been a huge disappointment. First of all, we booked rooms with 2 queen beds, but upon check-in we were told they were already all given out and that it was first come, first serve. If I specifically book a room with 2 beds, I should get a room with 2 beds. Instead, we were given rooms with only one king bed. Also, there are no rollaways here. Next, our room does not include a mini fridge, but others do. When we called about this, we were told none are available. Why are they not in every room? Some have them and some don't. Also, the layout of these rooms is weird. When you enter, you have to walk through the bathroom. So while one person is showering (shower has clear doors), you cannot enter/exit the room, get to the toilet, or use the sink/mirror. There is not another mirror in the room other than the one in the bathroom. This is a very expensive hotel that is near the convention center, but it's not at all equipped to handle large groups of convention attendees. read more

My boyfriend and I came to Austin for an early Valentine's Day celebration. From the moment we walked through the doors to check in, we were greeted with smiling faces and excellent hospitality. Belen, the front desk associate, was beyond kind. She went above and beyond to make sure we were going to have a wonderful weekend. She even sent us a bottle of Prosecco up to our room to enjoy (Prosecco is my favorite wine). It was clear that Belen loves her job and enjoys taking care of others. Belen truly left impact on me. Wow! I am so happy I decided to stay at this hotel on my weekend trip to Austin. It was the perfect location and had all of the amenities you would expect at a high-end + new hotel. At check-in I was greeted in line by Kayla who set the tone right away for our visit. She lead me over to the front desk where she started the check-in process immediately. She was so kind, efficient and QUICK! Kayla took the time to explain all of the hotel amenities, restaurants and area attractions. I was so impressed with her professionalism and high quality guest approach I even asked her if she was a manager or supervisor! She is not, but she should be. After check-in we went up to our room and got to see just how amazing our room was. It was spacious, well appointed and SO clean. Cheers to the housekeeping team! We almost spent too much time in our room and not out on the town because it was so awesome, and the view from the 28th floor was great. We did visit the pool, Zanzibar, Corinne, and Loaf + Vine on property - I will post a seperate review about Zanzibar. Just note, they are all awesome on property outlets - check them out. After returning from lunch on the second day of our stay we were greeted in the room by an amenity of snacks and a bevy with a handwritten card from Kayla. I mean that is next level hospitality! Also the staff knew our names as we were coming + going, so we started to feel like royalty! Overall my stay was a 10/10 and I will certainly be back anytime I stay in Austin. The only reason I am not giving zero stars is the staff at this new property is great. Super helpful people everywhere you look - especially the valet staff, who were phenomenal. And the fact that the hotel is new equates to everything being sparkly clean, which is great. However, everything else sucked. Let's start with the restaurant located just beyond the bar area - the food was mediocre at best. The waitress was super nice but for the prices charged, the food sucked. Moving to the rooms: - These rooms are TINY!!! - They all have a weird setup & flow (the door to the toilet is frosted glass, so you can see through it pretty well; the shower door is clear glass - across from the toilet - and since there is no door for outside this area, anyone coming into or out of the room can see you in the shower or on the toilet). - Not enough towels provided, even though I specified I wanted extra towels, I received a total of 2. - There is a strangely-placed barn door to close off the area where the bed is (located about 5 feet after you walk into the room). Weird lighting setup - NO light around mirror in entryway/bathroom (the only area to "get ready" in). - The only full size mirror is on a wall between the shower & toilet (not near where your clothes would be stored). - In the daytime, you aren't able to adjust the AC (it resets itself to 70 degrees about 10 seconds after you try to change it), but at night, when you don't need it, you are able to set it to any temp. down to 66 degrees. - No mini fridges in rooms. - Desk chair doesn't have wheels. - No honor bars in rooms. - Crappy & cheap coffee makers & coffee/coffee supply packets. - No literature, etc. in rooms to let you know the offerings of the hotel at all & no info. available on the app either. - Closet doors are so loud when you close them, even if you try to be gentle by holding them as you close them, they still bang so loud that it would wake anyone up in the room next to you. Also, where you hang your clothes in the closet is 2 long hooks that go front-to-back, not the usual rod going side-to-side, severely cutting down the amount of clothes that can be hung in closet. - Toilet paper quality can be found in any run-down gas station restroom. - Toilet seat isn't the soft-close kind, so it makes a really loud band when you pull the lid down to sit on it. - 2 different shower heads, but neither one of them produces enough of a water flow to actually get clean under. - No luggage stand anywhere in room (or closet). - Desk is too small & not comfortable to work at & no outlets to be found. - Pillows on the beds suck. - If you happen to be working at the desk, there is no room to eat at the same time - not enough space to have a laptop and a plate of food on the desk at the same time. - Materials used throughout the property were very cheap looking & feeling (from fixtures to flooring to lights to furniture). Other misc. things: - I downloaded the Marriott Bonvoy app so I could easily speak to the front desk, yet when I used the chat feature to do this, it took over an hour before I received a response & it wasn't even busy at that time (I know this because I had to walk down to the front desk to have my question answered instead). -I couldn't find info. anywhere about the property - specifically, I wanted to know if they had room service & where I could find the menu. They don't even have room service?!? And I only found this out by asking someone, you couldn't find this info. out by yourself anywhere. - Even though they don't have room service, they don't allow DoorDash to deliver to any guest floors (although all other hotels in the area allow this, if you notify the front desk ahead of time). They claim this is due to covid, but the restrictions in Texas were lifted a lot before the hotel even opened their doors for business. So, after waiting so long for this hotel to open up, and despite all the hype, I was extremely disappointed. Compared with any other full-service type Marriott, this one completely sucks in all areas with the only exception being their employees. I will continue to choose Marriott properties in all other areas of the world, but when it comes to Austin, do yourself a favor & drive a couple of blocks past the Marriott to the Fairmont or across the street from the Fairmont to the VanZandt - I would highly recommend either one of them. read more

Be very careful.... you should know, this is NOT a Marriott property. It's run by "White Lodging" with the name "Marriott." I have a very specific issue with this hotel. My advice to anyone who stays here is to make sure you check your card statement after check out. The hotel forwarded me my final bill, however there are two transactions on my credit card statement way in excess of the final total. I completely understand mistakes happen but the hotel blows me off to "White Lodging" specifically an Alexandra Hernandez. I've contacted this person twice with no success at rectifying the situation. I spoke to a manager this morning and requested a call back with no response. An additional transaction appeared on my card today which leads me to only believe that an employee of the hotel is stealing from customer credit cards. I'd be more inclined to believe this to be a mistake but given no one is willing to explain or rectify the situation leads me to safely think hotel front desk staff and the accounting department may be stealing. I'm planning to file a police report with the Austin, PD as the discrepancies exceed an amount they is justified for reporting abuse, and no one will help me straighten this situation. I cannot believe I'm having to deal with this at a supposed "Marriott" property. Simply not at all in character or reflective of the brand I thought I knew. read more

I had recently stayed here and first of all, it was a very nice hotel. When we arrived, valet parking was definitely a long wait to get in. Once we got to the room, it was much smaller than expected, which wasn't too big of a deal. The view from the room was poppin. My thing was there was no mini fridge, no microwave, not even a ice machine on every floor. The only ice machine was located on the 7th floor. So then my friends and I made our way to the pool which was nice, but small. There wasn't much seating around, but it wasn't that bad because some people were in the pool as well. I do wish they had drink menus laying around because we couldn't find one, so we had asked an employee to actually list some drinks from the top of his head whichhhh did not come with prices, so the bill afterwards was definitely high. Besides all that, the employees were nice and very accommodating and I would still go back because why not but hopefully this helps someone out in the future. read more
