I stayed during a business trip in October of 2019. The room was clean and comfortable, but the room they gave me had dirty dishes outside the door that was there for several hours after I checked in. Another oddity was the bathroom door was sliding glass. Very strange. While the conference room was about what you'd expect, the common area was very nice. plenty of tables and seating as well as a coffee shop serving Starbucks. Not great but not bad. read more

Where to start. We used to do staycations here back in. 2016 to 2018 a ton. Probably at least 14 days which may seem like it's not a lot but it is when you live in the same city and you don't have to use a hotel. We chose this place. We are here for a gas emergency, the gas company is paying for it and if they weren't, I would've checked out gone somewhere else but at least I'm getting the money back for the room charges plus tax. Present day.. what happened?? Wow! I will preface this by saying the only reason there's three stars, and not less is because the staff is very polite, however, that does it excuse the issues Their billing system is messed up. $60 deposit authorized up front, which is fine I knew about that. But then I get an additional authorization for $189.72. Now their was some food. But not what was authorized. According to the manager, whoever I spoke to if you charge any incidentals the Eaton to your initial deposit for incidentals, they have to recharge the entire deposit. So follow me along here.. if they took a $60 deposit for incidentals and I spent $20 and there's $40 left they charge yet another $50-$60, each time. Then I needed to extend another night. No problem the wonderful lady at the front desk. Marsha take care of it and she is a wonderful lady. I have nothing but great things to say about Marsha.. it was $89 plus tax and then the room deposit again. That works out to be $158 and change. Do you think that's what was authorized on my card? No it wasn't instead of $158 and change it was. Over $180 and change. While this detail, well, as you're about to see in the authorization photos below, there is over $460 in authorizations on my card . For what should be no more than about $300 (2 nights, rm plus tax, incidentals and $40 in food). So yes $160 more than I now need to wait God knows how long to go back on my card and they have no explanation as to why it charged extra. It didn't make sense to them and they're just trying to tell me that they have Something different in their system but whatever it is what it is right nothing I can do about it, except be screwed for the moment. Now let's talk about upkeep. Very simple, housekeeping, and maintenance, having been a GM for IGH for many years. It's not hard to do the basics it really isn't. After the room been cleaned before we checked in for the first time, there was stuff still on the carpet, including a drink umbrella in the corner. Although that may not sound like a big deal, if that was in the carpet, what else is in the carpet what else was not cleaned in the room what else is dirty in the room? Simple maintenance like the carpet is frayed right when you go from the bathroom to the living room, that doesn't affect my stay, but it's unsightly and would take a maintenance person or a housekeeper about two minutes with a pair of scissors or something to fix. But that's an example of the lack And lacks attitude here. If you go to Booking.com and other reservation systems, you'll see that they have rooms available and then they have rooms available for a little bit more with breakfast included. Guess what? The restaurant is closed it has been closed. It hasn't been open breakfast included where? I actually can go on. I have a lot more details but I'm gonna leave it at that and I'm gonna tell you that this property has changed somehow in the last four years and it's not to the level it was. The only thing that I will say is that the shower and bathroom are clean and the beds were comfortable, however, after seeing the carpet and what was left on it who knows if they clean the comforters or wipe the remote control or any other services during flu season. I'm giving a low rate due to the night staff. I'm assuming there was a holiday party being held 12/8/23 and just maybe the staff was overwhelmed. However, the young lady which was rude to us on a prior stay was rude yet again. I was polite to her but yet she threw my license back at me as well just handed me my room card and didn't even tell me my room number. She only said the elevator is down the hall. I had to look at my card to see where my room was. Customer service has to improve or else this will be our last time spending our hard earn money here. read more

Poorly renovated hotel. Some rooms have updated bathrooms, others do not. The ac in the room is finicky and the lobby and hallway feel musty and stuffy. They are so short staffed that I couldn't order off the menu for breakfast but instead they wanted to charge 17 dollar for a subpar breakfast buffet. Drinks were insanely overpriced as well. The staff kept telling me different answers to things, no one really knew what they were talking about. The coffee and snack kiosk isn't even open on Sunday or Monday which leaves you stuck to pay for over priced coffee in the restaurant and have to wait 10 min for it. Will never stay here! Find a better place for the price same. read more

Ok, ive pretty much given up on yelp.. 250+ reviews and not a single elite upgrade. Im guessing its because im not a hot chick... Anyway, I relogged in just to give credit where credit is due, which is at the Marriott, La Frontera, which is the choice hotel for visiting Dell employees... Im sure there is a corporate deal going on which drives us here, but because of my experience this week, (and its only day 1 of 5), this will be my go-to place when in Austin and Round Rock.. First the negatives, every place has them, lets get them out of the way... The shower pressure is weak... Ok, there you have it.. If you are wanting to be deluged in a flood of water, your going to be disappointed.... But everything else here makes up for it.. First the room.. Cozy, good AC, which gets really cold, which I like, and its pretty quiet, despite past posters.. Ok, the better than good.. the staff might be insane around customer service... I checked in, they do their schpiel about where every thing is.. the bar, dining, conference rooms, elevators, workout area, pantry, parking, how to get to various places in town, the coreolis effect of the moon and apologetic about the construction on Hesters Corner.. WTF, are these ex Ritz Carlton employees? Honey Badger DOES give a shit here.... I walk to the elevator, and 100 feet before I get there, a passenger goes up.. .A curly haired surfer looking boy says "hold on ill get the next one for you"... and he waits.... WHAT? He is waiting for me? He hits the up button and calls the elevator, it opens, and he waits until I get in and says "have a nice evening". The doors close, and im bewildered... WTF just happened... Do they think im someone else??? I throw my crap down on the nice plush bed, throw on some workout gear, and head to the gym and have a REALLY good 1hr run on their treadmills which have cable TV, ipod connectivity, you name it... Running sucks... Im not a runner, but i do it to keep in shape, and im actually having a great time on this state of the art equipment... I go back to the room, shower, and a buddy calls me down to the bar... So up until now, im having a great time... Unaware, the the dim-mac of all experiences is about to happen.. I go to the bar and give my friend a huge hug, who introduces me to Christoper the bartender.. Absolutely the must humble guy i have ever met yet a true master of what he does... As I am having a drink, with my friends, I realize, I am having one the greatest times of my life.. This guy is full of stories, and bar tricks and makes the most obscene drinks ever... Do i really want to go home? Thank god this is only day two... Im having a WONDERFUL time here..... Service is absolutely ridiculous here and I honestly feel I am be stalked by these people trying to one-up themselves from. There are no workers here as it appears everyone is hammering off of the same drum.. Customer Service Ridiculous Experience Do I want to leave? Make this week go slow... Had a conference here for the night and stayed for one night, the hotel is large, has a full restaurant and bar (didn't make it to it but wanted too). Checking in was seamless and very professional 5 star employees, the first room we got smelt like sweat and smoke so we called to switch rooms and bam they told us they would bring us up asap the new keys as well as a few drink coupons to enjoy some drinks at the bar for free, awesome.. Our next room was on the very top floor (which requires your key to enteer) the first view getting off the elevator was a construction zone that they are totally redoing the floor and concierge room, however I was like maybe they are re-modeled rooms. Our new room was clean but still had a slight smell to it but overall this hotel was nice. A few blood stains on my sheet I noticed but I threw a towel over it. They are working on remodeling and they have great service. read more

The service and room were great! I would gladly give this place 5 stars for it's service alone. I was a bit annoyed because I had to check-in twice because my key wouldn't work in my room, but the lady behind the counter was really nice about it. The room looked neat/clean and a LOT of room for a single person. The King bed is huge! There are a total of 6 pillows! The bed is super comfortable and the pillows are extremely fluffy. The gym is very convenient. (It's open 24hours a day) The pool is pretty small so it's not possible to do laps in the pool. I'd say it is more designed for recreational swimming. I do like that it's in-door. There isn't a fridge inside the room which is a bit inconvenient, but it didn't bother me too much since my stay wasn't very long anyways. The shampoo/conditioner that they provide smell GREAT! It's a orange ginger from Bath and Body Works. (volumizing) I loved just the smell alone. I really enjoyed my stay here and if I ever find myself in Round Rock again I'd be happy to stay here again. The price is around $350 a room which is pretty pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for. read more

2.5 stars Auntie at Austin: East coast family is visiting Austin family. We're blessed w/a second nephew :) This is our first trip to Austin. Definitely not our last. Visits'll be on the regular. We picked this hotel because it was close to BroE/SisL's home. Minutes away - a very short drive. BUT, there are other familiar brands in this immediate area so pick away. Lots of options. The guys (BroS, BroJ, and NephewC) reserved a double room to rest/sleep when they're not feeding or driving us to the hospital or pediatrician :) Housekeeping / room cleaning service should check the guest room door tags daily. There will be days when there are no tags so that the room can be cleaned. Very surprised by this error. The wifi was routinely slow so any important online actions were saved for BroE/SisL's home. No mini fridge in their double room but that space was filled w/purchased water and beverages from a nearby Walmart. btw, both Target and Walmart were about 4-5 minutes away. Convenient for long-term familiar toiletries. BroJ and NephewC actively used the gym and pool. Especially after a hearty meal. Gotta keep up w/the calories. Strong chlorine content, though. Get some Visine or Clear Eyes while you're at Target or Walmart. Carefree free parking was helpful since the guys used their rental car to assist w/driving. They were busy men. Front desk folks were genuinely friendly w/a smile daily. Southern hospitality shined initially but missed a few marks gradually. Our first hotel experience in Austin was worth sharing "the-good" and "the-needs-improvement/attention". read more

Stayed here 2 nights for a wedding. The room was nice, weird glass stained door for the bathroom not offering the best privacy where you want it the most. The beds were pretty comfortable and the pricing was pretty good for the weekend. Why 2 stars? Because I found at least 6 centipedes crawling the ceilings and walls of my room the 2nd night. I didn't notice or look for them until 1 fell on my pillow next to me as I was going to bed. Now I get the joys of combing my bag for crawlers when I get home. read more

So very disappointed. I booked a three day stay and wish I had read more on this place before booking. For travelling families, a free breakfast is a huge plus. No freebies here, and brekkie will start at a cool $17.95. No microwave, which would have been nice for warming up leftovers from dinner or lunch. An effort designed to get you to eat at their mediocre onsite grill. Oh, and that free WiFi we have virtually anywhere? Well, anywhere but here. We paid for three days of the upgraded version ($12.95/day) since the kids would be streaming and the grown ups would be working remotely. Unfortunately, one day the internet was down for the whole hotel. Front desk offered to call when it was back up. No call. Refund for a day of no internet? Nope. I'd love it if someone could please explain the absolutely bizarre frosted glass barn doors in the bathroom. I'll just say it made for a very awkward stay with our kids. Why the heck would anyone consider that a good idea? The place was maybe great in its hey-day, but those days are gone I'd say. This place is definitely not what I would consider family-friendly, and even if I were travelling for business, I'd be hard pressed to stay here (hello... three days of internet cost almost what we pay for a month of service...). It's 2018, Marriott. Hang some real doors in your bathroom and offer your guests what they can get at almost any other hotel for free. read more

Amazing staff, gorgeous lobby, clean rooms, nice location... can't say enough about the friendliness of the staff during my stay. I wish I could have stayed longer- I'll definitely be back. In addition to the benefits already mentioned, the in-door pool was perfect to relax in. My nephew really enjoyed the pool. I could elaborate on the various friendly interactions-- including the lady who brought towels to the pool area before it closed and said not to worry about rushing out at closing time. Of course, we left before closing hour but it was just nice to know the option was there. Was able to have a late check out thanks to Jacqueline at the front desk.. and signed up for Marriott Rewards with Marsha afterwards. Both were super friendly. The place was easy to find. Big parking lots. I was invited to come to the Texas A & M Medicine Match Ceremony here today. Lots of doctors! I walked in and even with all these doctors packed in the lobby. There was a staff member that greeted everyone who came in the front. The bathroom in the lobby are really clean and well lit. I didn't stay at this hotel. But the lobby was good. There also was a Starbucks cafe inside. read more

My husband and I booked 3 days prior for a room with 1 king bed for 2 nights. Arrived and ended up with 2 queens. Went to the front desk to ask about the mix-up and stood waiting for a minute or two waiting while a lady stood over to the side behind the desk fixing her hair and chatting with someone else. She eventually came up to a window and said "thank you for waiting". We asked her about the beds and she said "unfortunately that's all we have left available for the night". I asked if there was any way we could've received a call letting us know (so we could've possibly looked for other options) and she simply repeated herself but added that we could come down and ask the next afternoon if there were any availabilities for a king bed room. At that point prices for an immediate booking at another hotel would've been significantly higher and we were already there, and if we're only staying for 2 nights there really isn't a point in switching rooms only for the second and last night. There was also a wonderful rust-colored stain on the comforter of one of the beds (sarcasm, if not realized already). read more

Honestly I had a great time at this resort. Great room and great customer service. I would like to make one small complaint in regards to one of the front desk employees checking me in yesterday. I felt extremely disrespected by how I was being spoken to as a guest. Myself and my girlfriend are 23 and 27 and felt like they made a lot of assumptions that we were going to trash the place. I don't really care what age I look I don't like feeling like we are some party animals that are gonna cause of issues due to our age. We are paid guests and don't appreciate the sarcasm and the belittling. But on the positive side, the front desk Staff member named Happy was awesome. Dated hotel in a remote neighborhood with no decent restaurants within a five-mile radius. This hotel is off of the semi-truck infested I-35 instead of the safer 183. Regarding the location, the only silver lining that I can find is that you can easily take the 130 back to the airport. Another piece of bad news: the hotel doesn't participate in the Marriott Your Choice program, where you get loyalty points if you choose to forego housekeeping. I've never encountered this problem before. For now on, I will call ahead to make sure that any hotel that I am considering participates in the Your Choice program. This is a big deal for me because, as far as I can tell, there are only two benefits to traveling for work: per diem, and loyalty points. In summary, I will not stay here again. read more

Meh... pretty standard Marriott set in a residential area. When I stayed the gun had been relocated to a small banquet room and was honestly appalling (just hang a sign saying the gym is not operational).the room was standard Marriott fare. I was traveling for business so it was comfortable but nothing exciting. I ended up traveling to the nearby Domain area for dinner at night because there wasn't much around the hotel that seemed appealing. I would say to book this if you can't stay at the Domain and you are traveling on business. Otherwise I likely wouldn't stay here again, not because it's bad but because there are other great places to stay. read more

Hotel is 17 years old but looks brand new. Luxurious lobby, rooms are nice and modern. I have to give a shout out to Chris, the bartender there. This man understands customer service and is the reason I will come back to this hotel every time I'm in Round Rock going forward. 5 stars for their exceptional service! From the moment I checked in I received the most friendly service I've ever experienced at any hotel, ever. That's saying something considering the Marriott is in the business of hospitality. What really impressed me most was the customer service I received after I left the hotel. I had forgotten a sweater in my room. After I left a note with their housekeeping, they called me a day later to tell me they found it and would send it back. I had expected to have it sent by FedEx Ground, and was surprised to see a much higher charge to my credit card. I called back and spoke to the manager who was diligent in finding out the details on what happened and kept me updated throughout the process, even offering to let me call him on his cell phone on his off day if I had a question. In the end, rather than reimbursing me the difference in cost between the Ground vs Express shipment they ended up refunding me the entire cost. I wish more businesses treated their customers this way. If I have a chance to go back to Austin I will definitely stay here again. read more

Not impressed. First of all, they don't automatically clean rooms/make up beds/provide towels. We had to request it on our own. We mostly stay at marriott hotels and we've never had to make a request for basic services at other hotels. after finding this out, we requested service for cleaning the room 3x....no show. Had to ask if we could at least get fresh towels, which we did. Room was decent, clean and breakfast was fair, but free, so no issues there. The evening front desk staff was great. They were very accommodating and helpful on multiple occasions. When we arrived in the room, we found someone had put a plastic bag over the smoke detector. Thinking that was unsafe, I removed it... only to find out that the smoke detector was tripped by the shower steam. Of course, after the alarm went off, we called the front desk immediately. The smoke detector went off for at least 20 minutes and maintenance never arrived. We left the room to get breakfast. They replaced the smoke detector after we left. Front desk manager (a taller 30-something male with dark hair) in the morning was the one who ignored our first and second request for service. We also had to request maintenance from same manager on the smoke detector twice. Upon checkout, the desk clerk asked for my phone number to contact me and let us know how they could "make it right"...that was 2 weeks ago and I've yet to receive a call. This doesn't seem to be the level of quality and service I've come to expect at Marriott facilities. On the flip side the Omni in San Antonio riverwalk was outstanding. read more

Good hotel for Austin if you want to be close to downtown, but not IN downtown. It's about twenty minutes away and close to Round Rock which is suburbia with a million shopping centers, chain restaurants, and the outlet center that I took advantage of (white house black market outlet, what up!). The staff were awesome during our stay and we got to take advantage of free breakfasts in the morning and snacks throughout the day with access to their concierge lounge. It's your normal spread of toast and bagels, fruit, oatmeal, cereals, coffee, juices, and one hot item that changes daily like an omelet or French toast. The mid afternoon snacks were about the same. You would have a few chips, fruit, vegetables, and a hot snack like quesadillas or mozzarella sticks. It's always nice to get free food during a trip, and I especially like the free waters and sodas I took back to my room for later. There was no fridge in our room but they give you ice buckets so it works out. Yep, I'm cheap :-) We had one little incident while staying here that was extremely odd. We came back one afternoon to see our room had been cleaned but a foreign pair of old lady swimsuit bottoms were in our bathroom. I laughed while my husband freaked out and called the front desk to have them removed. The guy who came up couldn't have been nicer and said what probably happened was the maid had mixed something up with the laundry and they accidentally fell when she was stacking our towels in the bathroom. Ok? Either way they took care of it and apologized. Keep Austin weird right? Still, this is a very nice hotel and I would definitely stay again in the future. read more

The hotel was nice, if a bit dated, the room was spacious, free parking and the face to face interactions with the hotel staff met my expectations, from staying at Marriott locations across the country. However, it never fails that the ineffectiveness of Housekeeping mars a perfectly good stay. This issue is not exclusive to Marriott or any chain. However, this incident was disappointing and more difficult to overlook due to the fact that it was the same issue in 2 different rooms. I stay in hotels frequently, and housekeeping's ineffectiveness is a common occurrence. I cover my basis and wipe down the entire room. However, the manner in which an organization handles the situation is where you keep your loyalty. I rated the Austin Marriott North a satisfactory rating, It would have been an Good rating, but I had a issues at the hotel, and that has me trying other Marriott properties in the area. However, even though I experienced issues , the Marriott's response from several levels was professional, quick and to my satisfaction. Give them a try for yourself. read more

Very attentive front desk. Building is semi old, but keeping it clean and neat. Also I was kinda surprised to see the manager came out and greeted me in the hall way and picked up my laundry bag and tagged it for me, that's very nice (he also left very loud funny welcome voice message in my room...nice touch. haha) There is a good jogging path near by with a small lake for a runner like myself. As a frequent gym user, I am only going to rate any hotel I stay in based on its gym. Since it is nearly impossible to find a decent review or accurate picture I will try to include these too. I workout in my garage gym doing crossfit type workouts - pull ups, barbell Olympic lifts, kettle bells, and bodyweight work. I never use machines other than an occasional rower. Ideally, for a hotel to meet my basic 3 star standard it will need : 1. A barbell with weight plates 2. Pull up bar 3. Dumbell set 4. Sufficient floor space to workout Bonus stars awarded for: 1. Kettlebells - never seen yet 2. Multiple barbells or pull up areas. 3. Good ventilation and windows and floor space. 4. Music instead of fox news or cnn blaring on TV. This hotel Hotel gym is pretty pathetic - 1 cable cross machine that doesn't even have the pullup bars attached. Small set of dumbbells- I think from 5 to 50 lbs 1 bench I think more than 5 treadmills and ellipticals although I don't pay attention to these. Floor space - OK for up to 3 people Ventilation and view- hot and claustrophobic Pretty lame gym for a room that costs over 200$ a night. My recommendation- take a TRX and workout outside or visit the nearby Golds gym. I know I will next time. read more

I completely don't recommend!!! Marriott is a big name and quiet expensive so I expected better service than this. We stayed here for 2 nights and I regret for not booking Westin instead. You have to pay $10 for WiFi if you need to use ( even cheap hotel offers free WiFi now), no refrigerator ( I haven't seen one hotel without one), clean room service is every other day ( according to the receptionist when i called to ask) with that said our soon was not cleaned the second day, no clean towels, no shampoo and conditioner refilled which I had to call to ask for those. I mean for the money you pay it is supposed to be better service, but this is worse than motel 8 read more

Don't be fooled by the positive reviews on this page. Day 1 - the lady at check in was super rude. My family owns a hotel in the DFW Metro so I have a slight idea of how customer service works. She was unfriendly and uninviting. Also - the restaurant and bar connected to the place is TRASH!!!! This Marriott doesn't live up to what Marriotts are supposed to be and that's just sad. I'll probably stay away from all Marriotts in the future because of my experience here. Customer service and interaction is everything and it simply was absent at this location. If you are working in round rock, then this Marriott is the place to be. Great service, great rooms, very effective AC, nice shower, and good food. The breakfast menu is great, and they have a system where you can put your breakfast order outside your door, and they will have it delivered to you or ready for you downstairs when you wake up. The rooms are super quiet, and you cannot hear the people upstairs, which seems rare for Austin hotels. The downside to this hotel is the gym is not very nice. They do have a pool, which is nice though. If you are not working in round rock, and have no need to stay in round rock, then stay downtown! The hotels downtown (including the Marriott one) are way nicer. But this hotel is the best one in round rock. read more
