I am a licensed attorney and a professional and I never even raised my voice. Who the heck calls the POLICE on a guest for making a customer service complaint? I wasn't even onsite anymore at the time. I was talking to Sonya on the phone after SHE CALLED ME. Once she made the threat, I then called the Round Rock PD myself to find out if she actually did file a complaint on me. I am waiting to hear back. Below, I've detailed more information about what happened. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I travel WEEKLY for business and I have NEVER been treated as horribly as I was treated by SONYA and because of her, I will NEVER stay at a Hilton property ever again. This hotel does not honor its service guarantee. When I checked in, I had already registered and PREPAID on my American Express card. Despite that, I was still made to fill out an archaic PAPER registration form because they said the "owner" thinks people will lie and say they never stayed at the hotel. Then, the elevator was FILTHY. The major issue, though, is the service. I was NEVER informed that they do housekeeping every other day. I also requested IN WRITING that I receive extra towels. Despite my request, when I returned to my room after a long work day, my room had NOT been cleaned and I had NOT received towel service. I had to clean my own room, handle my own dirty towels and trash, and was offered a measly 1500 points, then 2000 which I expressed was NOT SATISFACTORY. I was not offered a CLEAN ROOM. I was NOT OFFERED A REFUND FOR THE NIGHT'S STAY AS LISTED ON THE GUARANTEE, AND I was not offered POINTS to cover a night. Instead, I was treated like CRAP. Sonya, the "manager," brushed me off in my face, then faked like she was going to "look into the matter," and called me about an hour later after I had checked out, and said they weren't going to do anything to assist. When I asked had she talked to the person who checked me in, she then HUNG UP IN MY FACE. After Sonya hung up on me, I called the hotel back and asked for another manager or the owner's contact information. Alyssa, the front desk agent, said that I was "creating a problem" and to "please stop calling." Mind you, this was my FIRST AND ONLY call besides when Sonya called me then hung up in my face. I asked how I was creating a problem by asking for service as a hotel guest? Alyssa then said the only person I could talk to was Sonya. I said, great. Please transfer me to Sonya again. I was transferred to Sonya who THREATENED ME and said said she was going to report me to ROUND ROCK POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR HARASSMENT. This is insane. I'm a licensed attorney and I did nothing illegal by asking for customer service at a HOTEL. Mind you, I am a professional woman and I was kind and did not raise my voice or treat them poorly at all. But, they were not only rude, they also threatened me with the POLICE. If you are BLACK OR A PERSON OF COLOR, do NOT stay at this hotel or at any HILTON chain. Even if you are not black, I suggest you look elsewhere. I plan to look into filing an action for discrimination. I will also be contacting Hilton's corporate office. They do not honor their guarantees or assist black customers. In addition to contacting corporate, I will be filing a complaint with the Attorney General of Texas for them not honoring the advertised guarantee and then threatening me with the police. This was the WORST hotel experience I've had in my life. Stay FAR AWAY FROM Hilton and if you must stay at a Hilton chain, I suggest you choose any other location except for this one!!!!! read more

Overall our stay wasn't terrible, but it definitely didn't feel like the Hilton experience we expected. While we were out, housekeeping came into our room. We had left our towels on the floor because they were dirty and were hoping they would be replaced, but instead they were just hung back up. We had also asked for extra towels but didn't receive them. Breakfast was another disappointment. There were very limited options, the toaster machine wasn't working, and the pancake machine seemed to be having issues as well. I'm gonna start off with Hilton is usually pretty good. Unfortunately this one is not! The staff is friendly and if it wasnt for them this would be a 1 star. Start off got to the hotel looked nice from the outside no issues there restaurants all around you perfect spot. Got to my room no issues. Walked in and was like ok it's pretty spacious. Here's where all the issues start. TV was good and appeared to be brand new. Started looking for microwave none in the room. For the life of me I can't remember the last time I didn't have a microwave in the room. The only microwave is down stairs in the lobby at the reception desk. This suks cause if you have food you bring back from restaurants you have to go down stairs to reheat it. Major suk! 2nd issue started looking for ice machine walked up and down my floor and nothing! Well the only ice machine in the whole place is downstairs next to the gym! This is a first for me and a major inconvenience. 3rd stayed here all week and only had 2 towels in my room. Which isn't a major issue but still atvleast put 4 on the room all the other hotels and Hilton I've been in have at least 3 and there soft these were Harland rough! 4th getting back to tv.. well went to connect my travel xbox and it wouldn't work! The TV has a box on the back of it that doest let you use xbox and the second hdmi has been deactivated really. Had to call front desk and they give you a Hilton. Help number that's frustrating AF cause the person on the other end sounds east Indian and could barely understand them when they tried to explain how to fix issue. Needless to say they wernt much help they kept telling me to give them ip address and I explained them that I couldn't change channel to hdmi finally figured out to unplug the box and attach hdmi. Very clean hotel and nice ambience! Room is very spacious. Only downside is there's no microwave. Staff is very attentive and helpful. This shouldn't even part of the Hilton brand. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. I laid down for five mins got up and checked out. I went to the Hilton garden inn. I was told the tru Hilton is marketed or meant for college kids. The bed sure did feel like a 75 hand me down spring loaded mattress. If you care about your back and or a form night rest do not sleep here. This is not worth it. Welp....I was expecting more. I usually enjoy Hilton, but this is something like Hilton's younger sister living college life!!! For sure.... For a woman with....eh, expensive taste on a budget this fell short. The decor is definitely dorm-room friendly with a pool table in the lobby for an added attention-to-detail. In the parking lot, you will find pint house pizza, I'm guessing this was planned this way. Well, the room itself was smaller than I am used to. I loooove space. Not with the tiny house movement or the minimalist approach. So, I was sort of bummed, especially because they still charge the Hilton brand prices. Expect to pay about $160 - $170 (after taxes and all) per night for this room. The walls are especially thin. I was lucky enough to be next to a couple arguing from about 4a.m. until I left at 9:30a.m. They were using hushed voices, as the chick was crying and what not. What should have been private was not, I heard every single word. I am assuming they heard me, as well. I went when this was only about two weeks old to get the best experience and get fresh linen and beds. Hopefully minimally slept in or not slept in at all. That was not a plus, as staff were in training, incidentals were unavailable, and questions were left unanswered. Breakfast was uneventful, as fruit ran out and that was it. Also, there were no microwaves in the room, the only one was in the lobby area. That reminds me, ice buckets were not in the room - but also in the lobby, along with ice (which wasn't conveniently on the 4th floor where I was). First impression walking in the entrance: everything is so bright and modern/Art Deco looking?! It really made me think this was a gaming area for college kids. It had a nice pool table as well as an outdoor pool. Tiny gym inside. Opted for the single king sized room, wow it's tiny. There are no amenities in the room such as a microwave, ice bucket or coffee maker. There however is s fairly large tv, iron w/ironing board and hair dryer. Very mini refrigerator in the room. There's a pull out desk from under the tv stand and a desk type chair in the corner of the room. Bathroom had a nice walk in shower no tub. The water pressure and water temperature were great. There are squeezable shampoos mounted on the wall. King size bed only comes with 3 pillows, thought that was lame. The sheets were just ok, they weren't the soften and the mattress wasn't the most comfortable. A little on the stiff side in my opinion, but I'm sure some prefer it that way. Overall there isn't much to the rooms itself. But if you're just looking for a quick / affordable place to crash and not needing the extra amenities this will be just fine. It was clean, the staff at the front desk and house keeping were super friendly and welcoming. Would this be a place I would bring small children? No. But if I had teenagers, yes. I would recommend this more for a place to just sleep not sleep and hang out all day in. read more

Soooooo - I decided to do a quick weekend getaway to Austin and this new property popped up in my search. I am a Hilton Honors member and had a free night - I figured, why not? We arrived at about 7pm Friday night and checkin was a breeze. The staff is really friendly. This is a new concept design by Hilton. It's way more casual - there is a pool table in the lobby along with unconventional seating designed to be more youthful and 'hip'. It's actually really kind of fun. The room itself is small - with a dorm like feel. I graduated college 15 years ago - I will never aspire to sleep in anything like a dorm for the rest of my life. LOL My master suite at home is bigger than the room. But - for a weekend stay, it does the job. Two things to note - first, the TV is BIG AS HELL. Like 65 inches!!! It swallows the room! And the walls are thin so you can hear your neighbor's TV. And on the bed, which was king - 3 pillows. I know that might not be significant to you, but a king sleeps 2 people - why an odd number of pillows? We asked for an extra one. That was just strange. Anyhoo - the place was clean and the breakfast was nice as well. I can't say I will book another stay here or any other location. NOT.A.WINNER read more

The ENTIRE staff is amazing, I couldn't have asked for a better group of people. The location is close to all of Round Rock's hottest attractions, great food and stores. The rooms are comfortable, checking in and out is convenient (use the app). They have an on-site market, pool table in the lobby and a fitness center. Personally it was the staff that did it for me, I literally cannot stress how great they are and I mean literally every person! Using the Hilton app, I booked a 2 queen beds and tub more than 2 weeks in advance at the East El Paso location. I checked in via the app. When I got there late evening, I found that I was given a 2 queen beds with shower. (I work long hours so I would like to soak in a tub.) I walked down to the lobby and complained. The receptionist said that there weren't any available tub room and that he was not aware of the reservation. Then I asked him about the Snack and Water benefit for Hilton Gold members. He claimed that they don't have it despite the abundant snacks sourrounding the reception counter. I called the Hilton customer service line to complain same night. When I told custom service about the missing tub, he said he will file a complain for me. When I asked about the Snack and Water program for Gold member, he said he does not know anything about it. He escalated my complain to second tier customer service. After I got connected to the second tier customer service and told him my story, the first thing that came out of his mouth was "You should go look for another hotel". He corrected himselvies when he realized that it was not the correct thing to say to a customer. He proceeded to try and find me another hotel nearby. He was not successful. Then I asked him about the Snack and Water program. He started to give me a talk about me getting free breakfast and therefore I am not getting my Snack and Water benefit. HE DOES NOT KNOW what member benefits are! Rather than helping me, he is just making things up as we talked and make it sound like I was at fault. Next morning I called HHonor hotline. It was the same message. He will file a complain about my reservation and gave me a case number to talk to the manager. I was wondering why should I go talk to him? He should make the effort to talk to me! So far there was no feedback from Hilton at all. Manager never attemped to contact me. I was really disappointed with Hilton since I have been an avid customer. Tru by Hilton is just another Holdiday Inn Express waana be. The setup is pretty much the same. Hilton tried to make the brand sound edgier by putting colorful paint in the lobby, a ping pong table and free breakfast like their competitor. Breakfast really was not much to talk about. Toast, eggs, 1 protein, pancake machine that is not practical to use (takes too long to even making 1 pancake), yogure and drinks. The patty and sausage tasted nasty like checmical. I ate toast and fruit during my stay. The 1 bed room was small compared to Holiday Inn Express next door. The 2 queen beds room was much bigger. You can see where their tried to cut some corner in the construction. There is no closet at all. You hand your clothing on a rack only. As for luggage you are suppose to slip it under the bed. Unfortunately large sized luggage is not going to fit. The are no amentities like little bottles of body lotion and shampoo. In its place they have economical sized of body wash and shapmoo hanging on the wall. Pillows were cheap. I have 3 stacked on top of each other and they just flatten out. LOL. On the upside, outlets were excellent. You can just plug your USB charger into the outlet. The bathroom night night was useful and not wastful of electricity. Overall, do I recommend it? A big fat NO NO NO. I would just stay at Holiday Inn Express. As for the member points, it is worth the least in the industry according to internet research. It is worth as low as 0.2 cent to 0.6 cent per point. Internet recommended to use it for stay at some hotels or special events sponsored by Hilton. For my next week of booking this weekend, I am staying at Holiday Inn Express next door! read more

Just because of how she treated me I would come back. Reasons I give it a four is one the pool. Super tiny with A LOT of chlorine. Just not my style. I was not a guest here, but I did do a delivery to a guest on 11/22/21 at around 10:30 pm. Words can not describe the rudeness and disrespect I received while dropping off the hotels guests delivery order. The woman at the front counter was not only unhelpful in any way. But I have fractured my ankle and was in a walking boot (very visible) I left my crutches in the car, to make it easier to bring the food in. When I asked her to help call the guests to come get their food, she rudely scoffed at me and "you can't take it yourself?" I then showed her my foot and and said if she wouldn't please mind calling them it would really help. She then picked up the phone and called them telling them she doesn't know why I can't bring it up, but it's here for them, scoffing continued, along with many eye rolls. Honey if you hate your job, by all means find another one.... Otherwise be kind to others, you never know what they are going through. My son and I stayed at the Tru Hilton Round Rock from March 15 - March 18, 2022. We did run into an issue with one of the staff members singling us out during breakfast time which made breakfast time extremely uncomfortable. This particular female employee worked the buffet, cleaning and restocking each morning and for some reason focused on us. If she had been the same with the other patrons, I would not have thought about it. However, she wasn't. Even after we used the hand sanitizer set out for guests before the buffet line, she would come after us demanding we sanitize our hands. She watched us throughout the breakfast. I had to speak firmly to her at one point, stating "Yes, we did and we know. We read the sign." I observed her thereafter and she said nothing to other guests (even those who missed the signage and did not sanitize). She was there each morning on March 16th, 17th and 18th. I understand the importance of guidelines and protocols and appreciate them especially for buffets. What I do not appreciate is being singled out. I am a business owner and treat people the same regardless of age, race, color of skin etc I emailed management (Chassidy) prior to this review but never heard back. Why were we singled out? I can only guess. My 7 year old son and myself were the only people of hispanic descent. She did not approach any other customer. I observed how things were the three mornings and we were the ONLY ones she felt the need to say anything to and run after (even after we used the sanitizer before she approached us). She was next to groups of people who passed right by the hand sanitizer and did not say a thing. If everyone had been treated the same, I would not be writing this. But we were singled out even after we followed the signs instruction. Those who did and were not of a hispanic descent, were not approached. Having her also watch us while we ate was uncomfortable. Wooee, this place is gettin' some hate, baby! Okay, I was needing a few days off and I just wanted to get outta town, see my sis, bum around for an evening, and then head back to FTW. I checked Austin, and places close to Austin, and seeing everything going for almost $300 a night for anyplace that wasn't a complete, get murdered in your sleep kinda dump, I found a room here, on a weeknight, for about $120. I could see it was pretty new and although I figured something was up, I didn't care, I booked it. Made it in about 7:30 that evening, was told it was booked solid because I couldn't get a room off the first floor. No biggie. When I walked in, there was a real strange vibe to the place. One clerk, working in a little circular check in stand, wearing a t-shirt and jeans. There's a pool table off to one side, and on the other side was where they set up breakfast and stuff. Lotta crazy blue and light red colors. At this point, I wasn't sure if Hilton was going for a "hostel for hostile youths" look on purpose, or maybe a millennial pseudo hipster kinda thing or just the cheap room for the night theme. I'm not sure, but it's gotta be one of those. Grabbed my key and got into my room. I'm really forgiving on rooms. As long as no major crime residue or filth is apparent, I'm pretty happy. Wood, or fake wood floors, no drapes, but a shade with a blackout shade behind it. It's loud in this room, and it's like standing on echo point. Honestly, this was my only real complaint about this room. There's a fridge, and that's about it. Not a big deal for me. However, there *is* a microwave in the lobby. Not a family friendly feature there. The bathroom was clean and simple. I honestly like the squeeze tube dispensers for soap by the sink and tub/shower. I think bars of soap and little bottles are a huge waste and hate to think it's costing me money. The linens were adequate, but could've been a little higher quality. Every pillow was super soft. The wall AC unit worked fine and was pretty quiet, which since the place is near new, I would expect it. Nice big TV with lots of HBO channels along with plenty more. I think I remember the TV table, a small table next to it, a little built into the wall nightstand by the bed, and a rolling table that was perfect for using when sitting on the edge of the bed which seemed eerily planned that way. Slatted shelf over ac unit which I assume was there to put your bag on, which is what I used it for. Yea, it's pretty spartan in here, no closet by the way. But a couple notched out places to hang something...if you must. Anyway, for all these things, I still liked the place. I did hear someone walking in the room above me, and at some point during the night it sounded like someone was using my bathroom, obviously because of the acoustics, but overall, for the money, it was a pretty good deal. I wasn't looking for fancy nor willing to pay for it, and I think I got what I paid for. Got a pretty good nights sleep considering I sleep like crap in strange places, and next morning grabbed a good cup of coffee on my way out the door. I also like that there are a lot of places virtually across the parking lot to eat and drink at. As it stands, if there was some sound deadening in the rooms, i.e. carpet and drapes, I would seek this chain out when I would be traveling. As it is, I will probably only stay here if the price is right and all other places are priced terribly wrong. But for $120 a night, I don't see what anyone can complain about it. 1st time in a Hilton Tru hotel. Didn't really check on any amenities when looking fir a hotel, as it was last minute on a UT home game weekend. It never occurred to me to see if they had coffee in the rooms, it's a Hilton not a motel 6. Well, no coffee maker in the rooms. That is really the only down side I saw to the hotel. They claim to be a minimalist type hotel with smaller rooms and such. We did get in early to our room by checking in with the app and used the digital key, liked that! They have the standard fare for breakfast, waffles, bagels, eggs, chicken sausage,etc. There is an open concept convenience type store around the guest check in, offering snacks, drinks and adult beverages to purchase. There is a pool table and plenty of space to hang out with lots of places to recharge phones. Would be 5 stars, but need coffee in the room read more

I stayed a couple of nights at TRU in Round Rock because I had a trial in Georgetown and wanted to be reasonably close to the courthouse. When I arrived at the hotel, I asked the person at the front desk about the hotel's printer. We had a discussion about things I could do on the printer (e.g., print from the Internet) and things I could not do (e.g., print from a USB). The hotel representative gave me the impression that the printer was working. The next morning, when I actually attempted to use the printer to print a couple of important documents, I discovered that the printer was out of toner. I suspect that the printer was out of toner when the hotel's representative was telling me about the things I could and could not do on the printer. However, even if the printer had toner the day before, you would hope that management would have additional toner available so that guests would not be placed in that situation. In my opinion, a hotel should never be in a situation in which a guest can't print something because there is not toner. Outside of the issue I described above, I thought the hotel was a good one. The room was clean. The staff was nice. The hotel is located around some good restaurants. read more

This hotel has a contemporary, yet boutique look that's makes it cool. The pool table in the lobby area was pretty awesome to see. They have a very good selection in their 24 hour snack area (although I checked in too late to take advantage of it). The front desk staff on duty was very pleasant and quick. I like quick with late check ins. My one night stay is for business only, so sleep, location and quality was my priority when booking this hotel. I was referred to try it since it's pretty new to Hilton. As I walked into the room, I was shocked at how small it was but it was again, pretty cool. There are places to hang things and nifty tables. The decorative shades put an extra touch on the room. This would be an ideal style for a very small studio apartment (only missing a kitchen). I only rated the review 3 stars because the bed wasn't as comfortable as I needed it to be after a 2.5 hour drive. I'm sitting up in the bed writing this review because I'm lacking the necessary sleep I needed for the day. The pillows are just as uncomfortable. I need a massage ASAP. That's my only gripe. The AC works perfectly fine and the rumble that comes from it was just as good as my ceiling fan at home that I rely on for white noice. Would I stay here again? Eh...probably so. I want to give it a second chance to see if my only gripe was truly the bed and pillow or myself. I have to go to Austin once a month for work, so a revisit may happen sooner than later. read more

I was not thrilled with the selection of this hotel as the gathering place for my sorority sisters to gather for our 50th anniversary celebration. I made two attempts to confirm my reservations under our group booking but was told that they could not finalize the reservation because the group had been closed. Your reservations system is awful. The worst. I was not a happy camper on arrival and expected more difficulties. But you have a secret weapon .... EXCELLENT customer service. Not sure that Candie and Patrick (reviews listed below) are really in tune with what the Tru brand is working to accomplish. We were traveling into Austin for the week as we are looking for a second home. We simply needed a place to sleep, shower, and such for the night. It was almost half the price of some of the other options listed, and that is what you are going to get. Smaller rooms and such. It was super clean, the desk clerks were very nice... and yes, they are wearing T-Shirts. All was great and no complaints at all. I've been a Hilton member for decades. Tru's are definitely new and interesting. They definitely are working to appeal to a new and younger crowd. The decor is upbeat and lively. There was even a pool table in the lobby. I'll be back sometime with my younger daughter. She'd love it. The staff was amazingly nice. The rooms, while small, are comfortable and very adequate. Hotel was comfortable and clean. I did not care for decor. It was kind of loud. And...due to wood flooring in rooms you could hear the other guests starting their days as well. I went for pleasure and still woke up in time for the morning meetings. read more

Horrible hotel. No in room amenities whatsoever, no in room coffee, no closet space , no desk or dresser, no carport ( to decrease noise) throughout hotel., I do not recommend. Pay a few dollars more and stay at a hotel next door that takes care of you. Marriott or spring hill suites. Very disappointed with tru, unlike Hilton Hotels standards read more

I am a lifetime Hilton Diamond member and this hotel definitely holds to a high Hilton standard. The staff has been A+ and for a hotel only open for six days, there have been no "shaking out the kinks" events during our stay. For the business traveler, plenty of device outlets and a small desk from which to work. For the TV watcher, a huge TV in the room. The windows have electronic double-shaded window coverings - one to screen the Texas sun and the other for privacy. The Tru brand is a fine addition to the Hilton family. read more

Super friendly staff. Was here for a weekend long soccer tourney, so it was loaded with young players and families. Enjoyed our stay.

This hotel has amazing customer service!! They went above and beyond to make my sons high school graduation wknd with our family and friends unforgettable! The lobby and pool area are decorated so nicely and the pool table and pool were lots of fun! Highly recommend this hotel! read more

My Husband threw me a surprise birthday party in the lobby. The staff was great, The hotel staff got me flowers, wine and a birthday card. the lobby was big enough for all of us to sit comfortably. After the meal we enjoyed the pool tables, pool and lounge by the pool. Thank You for making this a memorable experience. read more
