My issue was fixed same day and in my opinion a decent reasonable price. Great service, fast accurate, same day repair. I also appreciate gator garage door sending me emails and photos of the repairs being done so I was kept in real time updates. I really appreciate when a business takes the time to use technology because I know I could've paired myself with another garage door firm that would price quote me fix to repairs and not send me an itemized list of items that were repaired and that they would take the time so I do feel that Gator garage door is superior than most.

Within two hours of our phone call, Chad was at my door and taking a look. It was a bit of a tricky issue (apparently the door had never been properly set up at all) but he had everything in order in basically half an hour. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and the garage door tracks smoother than it ever has. His fee was entirely reasonable, and I appreciated his willingness to be up front with me about the cost range on our phone call. Chad is one of the good guys!

Don't spend 20 minutes writing up an estimate. Don't insult my property. Don't waste my time bragging about irrelevant past jobs.

I had used Alliance Overhead Door in the past and they were the first call I made. The owner, Chris, took my call on a Sunday around 11am and asked me a few questions to diagnose the issue. It was likely an internal spring that had likely broken and needed replacement. I was afraid there would be an extra charge for a Sunday repair, but Chris so nope. So, I decided to move forward with getting the issue handled. Chris needed to address a current customer and then could be at my place around 1pm. As he was on his way, he texted me with an ETA, which was nice. Once at my place, he confirmed the issue and recommended at Torsion Spring Conversion. He confirmed the price, which was very reasonable, and he got right to work. Within an hour the old broken spring shaft was replaced with the new torsion spring rated for 25,000 cycles. The company had a decent number of reviewers, which I feel makes the 5 star reviews seem legit. Surprisingly, I was able to book a consultation the same day. Neil was able to diagnose the problem relatively quickly and explained the parts that I would definitely need (like a new receiver), parts that I would not need (like the spring) and parts that would be nice to have (like the rolling wheels along the rail). He was very transparent about the price of the parts and labor as well as time it would take to pick up the parts and complete the job. TBH, the garage door system he recommended seemed gimmicky, but I decided to go with it anyway because he had me at " it's one of the quietest systems." He was able to install the very same day and was very patient helping me set up the remote garage door openers and iPhone app, which turns out has a feature that floored me, which was basically the ability to check if my garage door was closed or not after I left! The amount of time I imagined I would save by not having to turn the car around to double check is priceless! The overall time it took from looking at the company, setting up an appointment, Neil having to pick up the system from the company, drive back and install was literally less than three hours. With a ton of experience doing this kind of install, Marcus helped out so much that I was pretty much able to handle coordination of the main pieces and personnel without needing to hire anyone else. He did a great job making the vision come alive and was transparent with any problems that arises (and importantly fixing them when necessary). He was friendly, fair with pricing, and also very quick-- framing and installation took only 2 separate, spread out days (to allow for drywalling and parts arrival in between). My personal experience with him in terms of communication was excellent, but I also purposefully avoided peak summer season so as not to catch him at a busy time. I would not hesitate to hire him again.

First of all, let me qualify this review by saying that I have a No-BS personality when it comes to making purchases. With that out of the way, this was a very pleasant buying experience. I needed to replace the garage door torsion spring in order to keep my wife happy, and was advised that it is a somewhat dangerous task for DIY'ers. I Googled "Round Rock garage door" on my phone and called a few of the listings. When I called AustinTXGarageDoor.com and spoke with Jerry, he was very helpful and enthusiastic. He told me a rep could come out to the house that afternoon, so I told him I would like to go ahead with it. I was greeted at the door by Shelby, who was very knowledgable and friendly. He gave me a breakdown of what needed to be done to restore door to it's original condition, and then surprised me with the fact that the lubrication and adjustment was included in the price of replacing the springs. He explained his mentality that if I never have to call him back out for service, then he has delivered on his promise. Summary: Professional, respectful and on-time. Rene did an amazing job! Our spring for the garage door snapped in-half early Saturday morning. We didn't notice it till we went to leave later that afternoon. After trying and trying (without success) to get the door open, we went to Google for help. We found austintxgaragedoor.com. Extremely prompt, professional, and above honest. Rene came out and replaced the sensors on my garage door, rather than trying to upsell me on a brand new opener. He also adjusted the door and the tracking at no extra cost. Two hours later the door was still having what turned out to be an unrelated problem. The owner himself, Shelby, immediately came out and fixed things. He got me up on a ladder and walked me through exactly what the problem was, and again recommended repair rather than full on replacement. And here is the best part: Even though this was a different problem than the one which Rene fixed, Shelby said he was "old school" and that he still considered this part of the job he'd sent Rene on earlier, so this one was NO CHARGE!! Shelby at AustinTXGarageDoor.com really helped me out this morning. Both of my garage doors abruptly stopped working and I knew it must be some minor thing that I just didn't understand. Shelby very generously spent time on the phone talking me through the issue at no charge. He suggested some fixes until we found one that was the root of the issue (the GFCI outlet was tripped shutting off all power in the garage) and then stayed on speakerphone to tell me how to reset the emergency latch on one of my doors. One of the springs on my garage broke after many years of use. Richard came out to my house and replaced both springs within a couple of hours. After the repair I noticed a funny noise when the garage door opened. I called Richard and he came back out and fixed the noise. I'm a satisfied customer. read more

He was able to replace old, faulty wheels and lubricate the main spring, as well as check and secure all the bolts that had loosened, because of excessive vibration, over time. We went with high lift + liftmaster (latest and greatest models) + insulated doors. They look fantastic and work really well. My neighbors have complimented me on them several times already. Anyway, the technician Dale really knows his stuff. You can't go wrong with this place. As far as pricing goes, it was good (seemed on par with market). Also, service was quick when I ran into a few issues with the garage door. Dale was out pretty quick to fix, within an hour. I'm over in the Round Rock area btw, but originally the work was done in the Wells Branch area.

He even gave me a rundown of the various options in the gate opener product category which I was so thankful for. I'm glad I have a reliable and local gate servicer for life.

In my initial outreach, I explicitly stated that this was a virtual consultation and outlined the scope in detail. Ryan responded that he could handle the work and was interested. We confirmed logistics multiple times, including the evening before and again the morning of the appointment. My client rearranged her schedule, and I rearranged mine to coordinate a live virtual walkthrough at the property. Ryan did not arrive at the agreed-upon time. After the scheduled time passed, I called -- no answer. I sent a message asking him to confirm arrival -- no response. Two and a half hours later, he sent a message stating he had been "warned to stay away from these types of jobs" and apologized. There was no prior indication of hesitation, concern, or limitation in scope. If he was unwilling or uncomfortable with the nature of the job, that should have been communicated before confirming and causing both myself and my client to restructure our day. Reliability and communication are non-negotiable in client-facing industries. Unfortunately, this experience demonstrated neither. I cannot recommend based on this interaction. ***Update*** *Ryan attempted to dodge accountability by replying on Thumbtack that he was not given a clear scope. Please see the attached scope as well as his attempt to text me to explain himself. This is a pattern for Ryan. Please pay attention to the other negative reviews.
