Very good Ethiopian food. I really enjoyed it. Very generous with the injera bread. I got the combo of veggie and meat.

I've been here maybe 2-3x and can't believe I hadn't written a review yet. The ambiance is just lovely, service is friendly and welcoming. I've been mainly for lunch and some days are busier than others. The food is always just absolutely delicious and hot! Pricing is excellent too, we typically bring home leftovers which oftentimes are even better the next day. I love Ethiopian food! This is the best Ethiopian food in Phoenix. And NOW in a very charming environment!! They reopened recently (THANK YOU) after a mega expansion and remodel. I am a very snobby about my Ethiopian and this spot hits all my major points (I've tried them all). I got the 4 veggie combo w GOMEN, MISR WOTx2 and KIK ALICHA. All wonderful. INJERA super fresh, delish and you can purchase some to go! (I got 7-$1 per injera- I freeze them). RYAN got beef, chicken and veggies and loved it! We had a couple cold beers from the tap (Ethiopian beer to be coming soon!!) Also got a small pot of traditional coffee after lunch that came out with aplomb! The remodel looks terrific. Great art and really cool wood plank walls. They have a bunch of options for seating: booths, hi tops, bar, and traditional ethio seating with beautifully hand carved wood chairs. This is not fast food (thankfully). Be ready to chill, have a drink and enjoy conversation. It's an experience. If you're in a rush, pick it up and get it to go. Very nice decor and welcoming. Everyone was real nice. Waiter was helpful with choosing items to try. I will say the service was slow and despite repeated requests it took half an hour to get a refill on water. Food took a while to get to the table as well. No one really came around to check in and see if we needed anything. Parking is off to the side and it is a private lot with plenty of space. Food was really good, but if you are not into spices, even the mild has a bit of heat to it. Just something to consider. All in all, okay dining experience. Great relaxing atmosphere! Service was excellent! Food is traditionally eaten with your hands using Injera bread that is cold and spongy but oddly good. On our way to ZooLights, we were looking for a Vegan place to stop and get some food. We came across this place because someone on TikTok mentioned how good their food was and it was along the way. I went inside and ordered the Vegetarian Combo 2 Sides (Shiro Wat, Keyser, Meser Wot, & Foslia) $16 + (2) Sambusa Yemser - Lentils (these are samosas basically) $2 each + Ethiopian Coffee $3 for To Go. I paid with Apple Pay, and waited. By the time the food was ready, my toddler had already woken up so we decided to eat inside. We opened the box and I was bummed by the portion; it was small. It says the Combo is for 2 Guests; not quite...at least not Vegan ones. We weren't explained how to eat it, so I thought the pita/wrap had the filling, but the filling was inside a bigger wrap in the box. The flavors of the food were good, but simple. My toddler didn't touch any of the food, and he's usually good at eating diversely. We didn't get our coffee at all, so I reminded them, and it just tasted like a plain Folgers coffee...really no flavor. The interior was beautifully decorated and suited for an intimate evening, with small table seating. I appreciate what they're trying to do here, but unfortunately, our experience wasn't as we thought. But, they're worth giving a try...just order more food ;) read more

Nice ambiance - the owner did the decor himself slab cutting nicely patterned wood on the walls. Unique. The best and most authentic Ethiopian food I've had yet out of 4 restaurants. Met friends for a quick dinner before heading to First Friday - but we stuffed ourselves on the generous portions (and I might have had a little Honey Wine!!) and we're so comfortable at our booth that we ended up skipping First Friday altogether!! The décor is very nice - and spot on! I've been to Ethiopia twice and this Phoenix space totally reminds me of restaurants in Addis Ababa. Very clean and the staff was helpful and welcoming. I had been meaning to come here for a while and now that I finally have I feel that I owe this fine establishment a glowing review. The food was wonderful abundant and quite reasonably priced. The interior was vibrant and unique, also very clean and welcoming. I could easily see myself enjoying a beer and a soccer match here with the fellas or a hearty dinner with the family. The staff was knowledgeable and sweet. Our server was all too eager to aid us in any regard to the experience of Ethiopian cuisine, fortunately we're no strangers to such delights. Ordered all three of the meat dishes and would say it is the most mediocre Ethiopian food I've ever had. All the dishes were alright at best, and if you order delivery, they put too much Injera in the boxes so that the meat portions are smaller. Doro Wot Key- The chicken was somewhat dry, but the flavor wasn't bad, it could need a bit more seasoning as well. Sega Wot Alecha- Probably the best-tasting dish out of the three, but there was barely any meat because they barely give you any for the price you have to pay. 4.5/5 I haven't had Ethiopian food this delicious since I was in DC, where there is a large Ethiopian community which means the food there is GOOD! The restaurant is nondescript and easy to miss if you aren't looking for it. It's right next to Aqua night club and there's plenty of parking on the side and back. The restaurant itself is super tiny and there is limited seating. There are a few more chairs outside on the front patio though so there's always the outdoor seating option if there are larger parties and it's nice enough outside. The person in charge here was super friendly and accommodating. He put together two tables for us with no problems (Most of the setup indoors is for 3 people). The menu looked so good. The only time I've seen a menu with more esoteric, harder to find items is also when I was in DC. We asked if we would be able to do a combination platter but for 4 instead of 2. They were easily able to put a grand feast of a meal, filled with beef, chicken, green beans, potatoes and carrot, lentils, split peas, and more! There was plenty of injera to go with our platter. In a short amount of time our platter was empty and our bellies full. Next time I want Ethiopian food this is definitely the place to go! read more

This little spot is exquisite. We live in a wonderful foodie city elsewhere in the world and traveling through Phoenix felt like driving through a food dessert, until we found this oasis.
