I absolutely loved my meal. My partner and I got the four meat four veggie sampler platter and everything was flavorful and tasty. We couldn't even decide which was our favorite because everything was fantastic. The portion size was also nice, we finished about half and were able to take the rest home. Ambiance and decor is also cute! I didn't get a cocktail, but they are reasonably priced as well.

shared the two 2 Meat/2 Veg Sampler delicious and filling. the Baklava and Tiramisu was to die for, ambience is amazing

I've ordered from Authentic EthioAfrican Kitchen, Bar & Cafe several times through Postmates and have always had a good experience. I usually go for the vegan combo dishes, which are flavorful and satisfying. I especially love their fresh and delicious injera. Overall, great food and reliable delivery. I would definitely return again and recommend it to others!

Impressive to say the least! The aromas & decor are enough to make you want to sit down and give it a well deserved shot. They also have a full bar with an excellent selection of beers. The menu is 80% Vegan friendly with wonderful plates to fly solo and enjoy or share with company. Yum to say state the obvious. If you are a carnivore like me you need to order the Tibs or devour their beef tartare! It isn't traditional tartare as in being raw. You may choose to have it cooked to your liking. I suggest rare or medium at the most. Their staff are polite and inviting. The owner told me that they also have a location in Scottsdale. This Phoenix location on McDowell will make you feel like you are in another country. Ethiopian food is among one of my favorites. This authentic Ethiopian restaurant will make you want to come back and bring your friends. They will be impressed!

The food was just as my pallet was craving! Service was exceptional and atmosphere delightful. I definitely recommend this spot if you're looking for authentic Ethiopian food, served in a timely manner. Best in the Valley and I definitely have this spot on my calendar for once a month. Great healthy eating bonappetit

Tuesday night visit, first visit. We spent nearly two hours at the restaurant. Our order consisted of an appetizer and two entrees. The service was ok. The server was nice, things just took awhile to come out. The ambience was low lighting. We had a mix of meat and vegan items with sega wot key and meser wot being our favorites. The awaze wings were well seasoned.

My friend's bday was Valentine's Day so I asked her to pick a spot so we can get together and celebrate the next day. We decided to go to this spot at 11am Saturday which is when they opened! We were seated and greeted right away which was awesome. Entering this restaurant transports you to another place! The decor, the seating, everything was so authentic to who they are and what they serve. We absolutely loved that. We sat down and ordered drinks. It looked like there was only one server so it did take about 20 minutes to get our drinks but they were absolutely delicious. Then we asked what she would recommend to eat as we had never been there and she recommended the sharing platter of vegetable and meat. We got two veggie and two meat, spicy and mild and a side of rice. Let me tell you, it was flavorful and it did not disappoint. We were there for quite a while cause we just enjoyed the whole atmosphere and took our time with the food. We ordered another round of drinks and those came fairly quickly. Next time we will order dessert as well! Definitely a spot to check out! Worth it!

Meat combo for two people $19.

I came here this day with a meetup group of 6 people. Other Yelp reviewers were right. Service was really slow..... to meeeee. Menu came 20 min after I sat down. Took half hour after that for someone to come take our orders. I was life must be that slow in Ethiopia. I ordered meat combo $19 to share with one other person. Menu says to be shared for two people, but nothing to divide 1 drumstick, and one HB egg. Comes with beef Sega wot , Chicken Doro wot and Gormen Besga . The injera was really quite cold, like from refridgerator and very rubbery! I was expecting it to be warm. Baklava was good! Large piece for $5. Took forever for the coffee to come, we were leaving. This place, not my thing ..... See my other reviews.

We waited an hour for our food, despite there only being one or two other tables seated. My Shiro Wot was fine, every dish my party got was pretty spicy. The restaurant was quiet and dim.

We came here for lunch, and we very impressed. The food was authentic, flavorful, and reasonably priced. I liked how we could build our own plate and mix and match vegetarian and meat dishes. My cocktail (The Afro) was also good, although I would have appreciated more unique options. The inside was beautifully decorated and the servers were all very nice. I'm only rating it a 4 star instead of a 5 star restaurant because they were out of quite a bit of food, which was disappointing. We wanted to get coffee and dessert, but they were out of the carrot cake I wanted. Other than that, we would definitively recommend this restaurant and will be returning ourselves.

    Vegetarian Combo 10 Sides

We loved our experience dining here! We got the vegetarian combo 10 sides and the meat sampler and enjoyed all of it very much. The food was very fresh and flavorful. The restaurant was clean and welcoming too. Customer service was amazing. Highly recommend!

The patio was a bit full so we put our name on the list for a table inside. We waited about 15 minutes, but made the most of the wait by going next door for coffee. They appeared a bit short staffed, however the staff we interacted with were very friendly. The food is very yummy. Sometimes I forget that it's amazing what can be made as a vegan recipe these days. The flavors were good and things were seasoned well, and they have to be imo to make up for the lack of flavors from meat, cheese, butter, cream etc. all things I love, but the mushroom gravy on these delectable biscuits was delicious. I also really liked the black beans and quinoa filling of the chimichanga. I would definitely come back and try other items on the menu.

Walking in honestly felt like stepping into Vampire Lestat's lair -- dark, moody, romantic energy... very Anne Rice novel in the best way possible. Super unique atmosphere, tarot card menus (obsessed), and there's also a really cool vibey coffee shop next door owned by the same folks. What I love most? This place is 100% plant-forward but they don't scream "vegan restaurant" anywhere -- it just shows up as a restaurant. And you can tell because plenty of non-vegans were there simply because the food is that good. Nothing was oversalted or over-seasoned, sauces tasted house-made, and everything felt intentional. The Cali burrito was fantastic, the fried guacamole was surprisingly light and delicious (not greasy at all), and the potato tacos were honestly divine. Only small gripe: I wanted to mix taco flavors and was told no -- tacos only come in pairs of the same kind. Didn't love that, especially since I was happy to pay any upcharge just to try a few varieties. That aside, service was friendly, we were seated quickly for early dinner, and overall it was a great experience. I'd absolutely come back and recommend it to vegans and non-vegans alike. Total vibe.

The strawberry one came shaped like an heart! Also, instead of a full rim, they do this cute, artistic strip of sugar or salt on the glass. It's a small detail but really well done. The space itself is super charming. There's a long bar with plenty of seating, plus a cute patio out front near the sidewalk. Inside, it's low-lit with Mexican music playing, greenery hanging from the ceiling, and a bit of an industrial feel--it all comes together really nicely. Even the bathroom is adorable. The bartender was also super friendly, which made the experience even better. she checked in with us often. Very kind soul! We started with chips, salsa, and guac. You get a few different salsas: a chunky spicy one, a spicy green salsa, and a mild red. The chips were really good, and they also included these pinwheel-style chips that were a little different and had a nice bite to them. For my meal, I ordered the pollo asado burrito stuffed with rice and meat--really good. My friend got the enchiladas with refried beans and rice and loved them too. The enchiladas had plenty of sauce, and the beans (pinto) and rice were both really well seasoned. Portions were generous--we even had enough to take home for breakfast the next day. I read that their parking lot fills up quickly but that there's a public lot across the street, so I parked there and crossed over. This cozy restaurant was fairly busy and we perused the pastry case while waiting in line, lots of tempting treats. My friend ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes which are topped with blueberries. A lot of their menu items have pork in it, but they were good about substituting. The burrito usually has schreiners chorizo, hash browns, cheddar, sunny egg and chili oil with side of salsa verde. I asked for avocado instead of the chorizo. We brought our own drinks so didn't order any. We grabbed a table on their patio since the sun wasn't over our heads yet. It's nice out there and I think they have some fans going to keep the air flowing, and there was also a natural breeze. Our food came out and they were plated beautifully. My burrito looked good, but it had too much hashbrowns and also there wasn't any chili oil, which was a bummer. Maybe they normally put it on the chorizo so they forgot to add it to my avocado. The egg was runny which I like: The salsa verde was delicious; I love cilantro and it had great flavors. I tried the pancakes and they were fairly rich but I liked the tart lemon flavor and the blueberries, one of my favorite fruits. This is a nice place to meet up (small groups) and I'm glad I visited again.
