Well I don't where to start but I'm sure they are chittering people and are lyres ! I toke my car two years go to checkout ac and the owner star to read book about what they need to do ! The problem was at fitting ! Very disappointed ! About over month go I toke the car back because gas licks they call me one hour later to tell to they removed the tank ..... THEN THEY TELL NEED NEW TANK STREEPS..... I SAID NO THEY CHARGE ME CLOSE TO $300 ! So day later I toke car to other shop and they tell me that never touch the tank to replaced the gas line only small fitting 20 minutes job ($300) ! Never go back ! read more

I have had my automobiles serviced here for the past 10 years. I was very upset with my recent encounter on Monday, 12/30/2013 @ 8:30 a.m. I arrived for an oil change, Leon was at the counter. No one was in the waiting area. He said, they'd be able to have my car done by 3:00 p.m. I told him I didn't have a ride waiting for me. I tried contacting a few family members who had already left for work. I told him, I'd have to come back at a later time, since I had no ride! I live in Itasca, he never mentioned the Shuttle Service available! I'm certain he could have squeezed me in for a simple oil change. I would have waited an hour. I work in Customer Service and exceed my clients expectations all the time! I left, went down the block to Jiffy Lube and was in & out in less that 15 minutes. I've been taking my cars to Auto Advantage for years. They've fixed 4 of my cars many times with different problems. They are true to their estimates and true to their estimated deadlines of completion. Of course I've checked out their pricing over the years just to make sure that they are continuing to be honest with me and they check out on all of the above. So I'd definitely recommend this auto repair shop. Went there to get my car diagnosed because it wouldn't start. They told me it was spark plugs, a battery and a mass air filter that needed to be replaced. That was fine with me. I also had them recharge my air conditioning. When I got my car back, it drove fine for a few hours and then it kept dying while driving it. I took it back in and they said it was a defective part and replaced it. My recharged AC was cold for only a few days and they didn't bother to check the hose for leaks. The guy at the counter was nice, but the work they did was lousy. read more

I live in Palatine and was only here because our 15-year-old minivan overheated while on Rt 53. They found a hole in the radiator, which they replaced at a reasonable price, along with a 12 month / 12,000 mile warranty on the work. They also gave me a 4% cash discount. Took my 2500 Silverado in for oil, filter & Lube. Done in less than 1 hr. Got home & inspected, NOT lube'd. Took back next day, Tech went out and lube'd in the parking lot,?? 11 spots to grease a Silverado in a parking lot in about 5 minutes, makes me question their work ethic & who they employ. Previous years (plug's change'd & shocks replace'd) seemed satisified, but a easy job like O-F-L makes me wonder??? Look elsewhere or give one more try??? Additionally, last year (Oct. '16) had AC compressor replaced (by Auto Adv.) cause truck not cooling, in Dec.'16 in Florida had to have fan clutch replaced cause truck not cooling again. Makes me wonder if fan clutch was initial problem and new AC compressor was not needed. Hmmm! read more

Sorry people who wrote below me. Not sure if you were at the correct Auto Advantage but I have been going there for many, many years and have never had a problem. In fact I would have to say they go out of their way for everyone. The place is always packed so yes you cannot always just pop in for an oil change. There is a reason the other places you go to are not crowded. Use your brains. And if you leave and something goes wrong bring your car right back and they will see what the problem is. All of the work is guaranteed. The customer service there is wonderful and Dominick and Leon couldn't be nicer and more trustworthy. If you need your car fixed and you want to find a place that you could trust go to Auto Advantage. Prices are better then most places. This shop made my car a death trap and made my car run worse than it did before I brought it in. It started with replacing the throttle body on my truck. I bought the part from o Riley's and auto advantage replaced it. The car drove fine for 10 minutes and then it started stalling on me while making left turns almost getting hit by oncoming traffic. I brought it back to them and they reprogrammed it which made it drive better but not perfect. Next I had them replace the back caliper which they didn't tighten 1 of 2 bolts. I was driving and the brakes started making a horrible grinding noise and my car could barely brake because one of the bolts fell out. If the other bolt fell off I would lose total control of my brakes and I would be missing a caliper. I brought it back to auto advantage again and they said oh we put the wrong bolt in!!!!!??? How can u put the wrong bolts in? I wasted so much time money and my safety at this auto shop it makes me sick. I just hope your shoddy work doesn't kill anyone. All this place knows how to do correctly for me is the oil change, Everything else done was a disaster. read more

I asked them to look at my brakes and they said it was my master cylinder. worked for 2 months after spending $350.00 later they said it is more items and it would cost me over $500.00.
