I'm sitting in the most comfortable waiting room ever. The T.V. works and there's a remote so that you can change the channel. There's complimentary water, coffee and tea available. The staff are super professional and they even have this really cool chat feature where you can accept or decline suggested services! I had an excellent experience with them while having a horrible experience with my car! I, the blue mini-Cooper guy, am kind of famous there now because of what happened. I was driving downtown to DC late at night entering the Manhattan Ave tunnel when I turned the corner and ran over an on-it's-side scooter on the free way. Trying to center it didn't help. The Mini was wrecked and I had to fix it. A friend I trust referred Auto America Service for a tune up, which turned out to be better than most I've experienced. Now I needed to put them to the test in a very vulnerable time for me. They had their friend come pick me up for $30 less than competitors. They assessed my car and gave me the facts straight, stepping me through the damage in person before committing resources. They bought new parts that were not from the factory to lower the price by a few hundred dollars. And they were respectful and responsive. Found out my car was old enough that it hit that domino point where a lot of other dependent parts started giving out quickly, snowballing the costs. They talked about strategies for getting the Mini good enough to sell to mitigate costs as much as possible. Jose and his family team were very gracious with my frustration, kind about bad news, and more than willing to work with strategies to reduce costs. Hello. I frequent Auto America for my car maintenance and have been coming to them for years. I just wanted to provide a special thank you to Alex today for his excellent customer service. Also the service team for getting me in and out today as it wasn't a scheduled appointment. I had just been in yesterday for an oil change and state inspection and this morning my car wouldn't start. Called and Alex told me to bring it in. When I arrived he saw me in the parking lot, greeted me by name and got my key to see what the issue was. This shop is incredible. I've never been to a shop this clean, orderly, professional and customer friendly. I went for an oil change for my BMW. They were quick and the waiting area is super nice. Better than most dealership waiting rooms. After completing my oil change, Alex took his time to show me other issues with my car. He didn't pressure me into repairs and ranked them all in priority. Although I declined the repairs at this time (selling car), he provided a print-out of the potential repairs and the estimated cost. I came here for an oil change that I purchased on Groupon. While working on my car they called me to inform me of various other issues on my car (windshield wipers, broken light, etc). They fixed all of it for a VERY reasonable price. I also didn't feel like they were trying to rob me because they were honest about the fact that my brake pads should be changed soon but didn't need it ASAP. They also have a great rewards program. I found this place at the recommendation of someone from Arlington Collision Center right next door. I wanted to do partial repair, which Arlington Collision Center does not offer but suggested me to find Rene from Auto America. I have to give them as many stars as I can for customer service. My main point of contact is Rene, who has been nothing but helpful. He offered to order parts for me first and I can drop off the car once he got the parts (to reduce the days my car stay in shop). They were also very accommodating, making arrangement for me to pick up the car after they closed (they left the key in the car outside the shop so I can get in with my spare key). The job they did for me (replacing door skin) was also excellently done. You cannot tell we did something to the car!! As good as new. They also detailed the car... all the dust in my car is now gone, and it smells so fresh and clean. I am thoroughly impressed, and they would have gotten a 5++++ star if it wasn't for two things: 1. There was a small "dent" on my bumper that was not there before. It looked like one of those marks from the screw that holds the license plate. It was about the size of a dime and was not severe. This also reminds me that someone from Enterprise Rent A Car in the area mentioned that the shop sometimes could be a bit rough with cars since they're already fixing it anyway. 2. The repair took longer than the estimated time. This is not a big deal, but it was quite inconvenient to make arrangements to pick up the car on the weekend (as this shop is really close to my work but very far from where I live). I want to note that Rene was very apologetic and tried his best to accommodate... so I'm not really distraught about this. I never had experience with body shops, so I didn't really know what to expect. It threw me off a bit when the actual repair time was longer, but I'm guessing it's pretty common and really isn't the shop's fault. So even though I'm pretty frustrated with the mark on my bumper, I still think they've done a fabulous job with the collision repair. What was most impressive was the customer service. One of the managers showed me exactly what was wrong and what they did to fix it. I had my hands on the parts that were defective. This shop is incredible. If you're new in town, this is a very professional and trustworthy place to take your vehicle. I was new to town a few years ago and was nervous about where to take my truck for service. I tried this shop based on their online reviews. Whether I have needed a simple oil change or something more complicated like brakes or suspension parts, this shop has always done great work. Jose is so knowledgable and professional. He takes them time to address all concerns you have including road testing with you in the vehicle to help diagnose noises and other mechanical issues. I had taken my truck to two different shops, including the dealership to figure out a noise coming from my front suspension; neither could give me a straight answer. I brought my truck here for an oil change and mentioned it to Jose. He asked if we could take the truck out together to find the noise. After about a 1/4 mile he knew exactly what it was and wrote up the estimate during my oil change. When I was finally able to save the money and have the repair done, the work was done quickly and the total cost was not a penny more than the estimate. One of my favorite aspects of their business is that if they find something that needs attention, they create an estimate while you wait for your other service(s). They never attempt to frighten you about the consequences of not fixing it immediately. They talk to you like a person and give you all the information about what's happening and their recommendation for the timeliness of the needed repairs. As a woman, it is often difficult to find a shop that will not try and take advantage. I'm mechanically inclined and on many occasion had a shop try to sell me an expensive repair because they think I won't know the difference. I have NEVER felt that way here. Their lobby is nice and magically doesn't smell like tires or solvents. The free coffee and wi-fi is nice too. They have a reward points system that is also pretty amazing. They let you redeem points for things you actually need like oil changes, alignments, etc. read more

Incredibly thorough, kind, professional customer service! I went for an oil change, about 40-50 minutes, $39 for suv, and an incredible waiting room. It may sound funny, but when you have a two year old toddler with you while waiting for an oil change the waiting room is a game changer! Two separate waiting rooms, clean, both large tvs with cable, free wifi, keuriig...we were very happy. Also, it's basically in Shirlington so you can leave, go into shirlington and come back and it's done! Very pleasant experience! The woman at the front desk was kind, helpful, and informative. The technician that came inside to tell us prices and specifically what it included was patient, friendly, and answered all questions. I highly recommend! I thought I could put in my own headlight on a 2008 Chevy Cobalt but after lifting the hood I quickly found out that I was wrong. I am new to the area so I called around to find an auto shop to put in the bulb I already purchased and some wanted to change $25+ for a 10 minute job. I called Auto America and they were very polite and asked if I could bring in my vehicle and they would possibly do it for free or quote a price. Once here they explained what would need to be done and told me it would be a small price of $5-10 which is totally understandable. They quickly replaced the bulb and got me on my way. Exceeded my expectations. I went there for a quick issue with my new Audi that is not covered by the warranty. I waited in the comfortable waiting room - just as nice as the fancy Audi dealer with drinks and snacks. There's even a large window overlooking the repair shop, just like at the local dealer. I am new to the area and have used Auto Service America two times...once, simply for an oil change. I should add that it is refreshing to go in for an oil change and not have to be "sold" on a number of other items. Not much else worse than wanting to go in for a $30 oil change and walk out spending $100 on items that don't need attention immediately. Staff is always congenial and when I went in for my inspection, they did a good job of fixing what needed to be fixed. Also, when I asked if my brakes needed repair, they were very honest with me and said they did not need it just yet. I wish you could go in for an oil change and be out in 30 minutes. The large signage outside says "Express Oil Change." When I first went there, they told me it was a 90 minute wait. So the last time, I Made sure to make an apt in advance. But I do wish that was easier and faster, as an oil change is somewhat standard. I gave 4 stars here instead of 5...only because I have visited them only twice and have not had all that much to go on just yet. But I do trust taking my car there and the mechanics I have dealt with seem more than capable and explain the situation with your car pretty clearly. read more

Jose always explains everything to me very well, he is patient and will talk things out until i feel comfortable with my understanding of what is going on and I have never felt like they are pushing services on me or recommending something I don't need. In addition their waiting room is super clean and they always seem to be able to fit me in, even when I only call 30 minutes beforehand. I'd been coming here for years but in recent months the service has gotten horrible. My A/C is out and they did the diagnostic while it was in for some other services. I made a later appointment to have the repairs done, replacing the high and low pressure hoses. I asked at the time I made the appointment how long it would take. I was told up to two hours. OK, great. Scheduled for 0930, dropped it off and went for a run since the location is off the W&OD trail. Back almost 2 hours later and my car hasn't moved. I went in and say why does it look like you haven't even started yet?! Desk people get a manager. He comes and says they were waiting on the lift to be open. I said well i can't get to work without my car, so I need this done. He then says oh well we need the whole day. I told him i was told 2 hours. He now says oh well probably a day and a half, 13 hours on average. I said give me my keys I'll go elsewhere. So now I've lost half a day of work and still no A/C. read more

Awesome Auto Shop, 5 stars all the way! I was recommended by a coworker and let me tell you, their prices are great, and alotttt better service then I have ever gotten in the dealer. The dealer was charging me 2 times more then what I ended up paying for a tune up on my Jeep. Jose was great explained everything that was wrong with my car and was honest about the things I could hold on for future repairs. He even took me under the car to see a few leaks on my vehicle, which I would have never even known where there. The receptionist was nice and very friendly. Over all Great Customer Service. They also have a fantastic Rewards Program that saves me money. Not only did Jose complete my emissions test, but he also checked the tire pressure in all of my tires and adjusted them accordingly (free of charge and without me asking).
