When I picked up my car on July 25th, I was shocked by the lack of care demonstrated. The interior was extremely dusty, and there were dents and marks on my leather seats. It was clear that they had left the windows open during the body work and had carelessly laid their tools on my seats. The exterior of my car was filthy, and the green marker used for identification was still visible. This level of service is absolutely unacceptable. If you look in the dictionary under janky mechanics Herman's fake good guy self's picture will be right there. Herman Daniels/Hampton Auto Body was paid in full for the agreed-upon repairs. However, Mr. Daniels retained possession of my car for nearly a month (2/17/25-3/13/25) and failed to complete the majority (95%) of the repairs for which he had been compensated. Upon the return of the vehicle, it was discovered that not only had the repairs been left incomplete, but the car sustained further damage while in Mr. Daniels' possession. He damaged the body of the car by improperly putting on a new bumper with NO BUMPER CLAMPS, damaged my side marker lights, damaged the front trim and then tried to say he purchased a replacement light because my fog light was broken. Not true it needed a SCREW! My attempts MULTIPLE attempts to retrieve my vehicle were hindered by Mr. Daniels, who made the process unnecessarily difficult.I was forced to have male individuals present to interact with him in a professional, direct, and respectful manner to secure the return of her property. When no male presence was available, Mr. Daniels threatened me, stating, "Bring whatever guys back up here - I'll be here and see what happens." Herman also refused to give me any written documentation so I did as much as I could in email. But that was also met with him writing in all caps "SMITH-I WILL CALL YOU WHEN THE CAR IS DONE". When I was able to come and get my car my UBER driver asked Herman for a receipt and then HERMAN gave me a copy paperwork from 12/13/24 when he fixed my antifreeze leak, loose steering wheel, an oil change and was supposed to fix the issue causing my check engine light to come on. Instead I now needed 3 sensors. All from a simple Anti Freeze leak from a small connector. I was smart enough to take pictures before at the shop and after so I have a lot of the process documented for this exact reason. I contracted with District Detail primarily for cleaning the car, but told them I'd be happy with whatever improvement could be made with the body paint. Got the car back literally sparkling inside and out and they made tremendous improvement with the paint - and they were even able to re-clip the front bumper skirt that had gotten snagged and pulled out of place years ago! Steven kindly offered to try an additional product on some of the spots of missing paint which I'll be taking the car back for. Pricing was great and they were FAST; car was in at 7am and done by 2pm (the last time I took my car in for interior detailing at a chain company, they took nearly 3 days!)
