I have always gone there for oil change, no complaints whatsoever. I had good impression with the staff- professional and delivered quick service. Recently I bumped my side mirror when backing out my garage and causing the mirror shell and mirror itself to fall off, but nothing was broken. The shell had no damage, mirror was not shattered, and the strip light was also not broken. I took my car to this shop this Friday, they immediately looked at it and said I need a full assemble for passenger side mirror, and went ahead cutting off the two cords to "prevent" scratch on my car since the shell and mirror were hanging out. They quoted me $2800 the next day. I took my car for another look and was told all parts are not broken, no need to replace or a new assemble. Just need to reattach them. What I also learned later is that they could have just unplugged the parts instead of cutting them. I had full trust going in there because I trusted them and want to support local businesses. I am not a car pro by any kind and I would expect them to take a look and provide expertise with honesty. Not just ripping people off for a full assemble when there's no need. Very disappointed in the service I got and I will not recommend this place. read more

Steer clear of Auto Care in Katy. Perry told me my alternator and battery were fine, but the alternator was bad. When my battery died, he wouldn't charge the battery so I could take it to the shop where the battery was under warranty. He claimed the battery was dead and would not charge. I managed to get the car to the other shop and the battery charged just fine. Perry's price for the alternator was MUCH higher than the other shop. To make matters worse, he made inappropriate remarks about my body and joked that he would have to start dating me. Totally inappropriate and unprofessional. Beware. read more

My daughter's car was making a "weird noise". She called me to meet her and get her car towed. I didn't know where to go. This place was close to my house. I stopped by right before closing to see if we could have it towed there and return in the morning when they opened to have it checked. Miguel said sure and let me know where we could park the car overnight. We went early in the morning, explained the problem, and dropped off the keys. They were amazing. So friendly and got right on it. They explained everything that was needed, what was mandatory, and what could wait if we needed to. The price was very reasonable. Phillip and Miguel were so awesome with getting my kiddo back into her car quickly. I highly recommend this place! read more

I spent $3000 less than 6 months ago here which after talking to another mechanic shop I was told I got robbed but I live next door so I asked them to replace a blinker that I already bought and they tried to charge me $70. They just lost my business over a stupid blinker that would take them 5 minutes to replace. Done with this place! Oh and now I just called Firestone on Marketplace and they said it would be $16. Auto Care USA at 13424 Briar Forest, Houston 77077: Discount Tire down the street had stripped a lug stud, and they send these issues to Auto Care USA who (supposedly) told me they repaired it. The next morning, driving on freeway, after about 20 minutes or so, felt something under the car come off or we ran over something. Car seemed to be driving ok, but exited a few minutes later & as slowing down in exit, a horrible grinding noise from under front of car. Pulled immediately into a parking lot & could easily identify noise from wheel that had been just fixed. Right off the bat, could tell the lug nuts were NOT from my car, & the 5 didn't even match each other! Two of them were finger loose, and 2 more were loose once we borrowed a lug wrench from a friendly guy in the lot (so the lug nuts they installed didn't even fit the lug wrench that came with the car!!) We tightened all of them but the grinding noise continued. There was another Discount Tire close by so called them, explained & we limped down to it. The horrid grinding noise was because there was a brake caliper bolt missing & the brake was cock-eyed!! This could have been an extremely bad accident, possibly fatal, had the wheel and/or brake assembly come off while driving 60+ MPH on the freeway!! Car was towed back to Auto Care USA as per Discount Tire's instructions, and when I went to pick it up on Monday, they acted like "no big deal". I took it imme iously had not torqued it to spec either). Discount Tire took care of the expenses of this horrible experience, but we lost most of a whole day!!! I WOULD NEVER SUGGEST USING THIS BUSINESS - WE COULD HAVE BEEN SEVERELY INJURED OR EVEN KILLED DUE TO THEIR NEGLIGENT WORK. The picture of the lug nuts - NONE of these match the other 3 wheels on the car, and NONE of them worked with the car's lug wrench! The pic of the brake illustrates the different bolt used. Stopped by to check on a low tire, it turned out it had a nail on it, they fixed it and wouldn't charge me anything which was very nice on their part, if anything I'm a bit ashamed I didn't had any cash on me and couldn't tip the nice guy who took care of the problem, not that he asked for it. I went into this place today for an oil change. When I walked in, there wasn't anyone in the waiting room. The person behind the counter couldn't take his eyes off his phone long enough to even say hello. After that akward time of... Is this guy going to acknowledge my existence??...I said can I get an oil change? ... Never looking up from his phone, he said yeah, but it's an hour wait. Wow seriously? I'm not worried about the wait other than the place is empty!! 100% empty, but really? How rude can you possibly be? The reviews on this place are terrible you would think you would do everything it takes to make anyone walking in feel welcome and that you are happy to help them. I can walk home from this place an hour wait is no big deal but I can go any place else and get better service. Best of luck! You will need it! read more

I was doing some work on my Lexus ES 300 to replace struts, rotors, pads, and calipers. I ran into an issue and could not un-tighten some rusted bolts necessary to remove the struts. Since Auto Care USA was just around the corner from my home I thought I would go see if they would loosen all the rusted bolts for me. This would allow me to complete the work myself and save a lot of money. While I was there I decided to ask them check a few other concerns I had for some additional repairs and updates that I felt the vehicle needed. I was told I would be charged $34.95 to have the issues diagnosed. They did not charge me the diagnose fee since I did not have work done during that visit. I thought that was honorable and would make my decision to return much easier; although I do have some concerns after reading some of the reviews left by others. Although some reviews can be more of a personal nature that would not affect me or my decision to give an establishment my business, some negative reviews you read on Yelp should NOT be ignored! The one good thing I was happy to hear was that would accept and use the parts I have already purchased and just charge me for their labor fee. Some places will not accept your parts; they will insist on using their parts. Why is that? Here are some reasons; using the calipers I just purchased to install myself as an example. 1) Repair shops can mark up the price of the part (profit) 2) They also get a discount on parts they purchase (more profits) 3) The case of the calipers I will get a $120 refund when I return the old caliper "cores" to Auto Zone. When was the last time a repair shop offered you a refund or credit for old parts that can be turned in. Although most parts cannot be reused there are some that can; therefore, a refund is given if you turn the used part in once you remove it from your vehicle; so I liked the idea the Auto Care USA would accept my pre-purchased parts. Although I would not use any repair shop for expensive repair jobs I can do myself, I will consider Auto Care USA for smaller jobs I can't do, such as front end alignments etc. TIP: This is for the person (Taresa K.) who said she and her husband went in for a state inspection and said they were told they had to let the repair shop complete other expensive repairs first. Here is something I learned over twenty years ago regarding getting state inspections done. If you don't go to a shop that offers major repair service the only service they can offer you is the state inspection and other "minor services" they offer. For this reason, I will only let small "jiffy Lube" type shops do my state inspections. They can't try to oversell repairs they do not do themselves! This does not mean some repairs "required" can be skipped, it just means you won't have to concern yourself with quotes for unnecessary repairs to pass state inspections. read more

So we thought we'd stop in this place to get a state inspection on my husbands truck. No problem right.. Yeah. The guy came out did the usual came back and said "You have to replace your brakes, rack & pinion get a new power steering hose or I can't pass you for an inspection unless you do this with us." The receptionist was clueless we we're asking questions while she was calling someone at a different location to get prices. She even told my husband " I guess we have an impatient customer sorry your girlfriends pissed sarcastically." My husband checked her. Quickly then she apologized. I spoke before my husband could about this ridicules quote and usually he hates that but today he let me have the floor. I asked " ok so we just had had my husbands truck serviced 2 weeks ago not only that but my husband drives out of town for work so safety is our main concern his truck is always serviced but being duped isn't happening here today with us. I know for a fact all of this doesn't have to be done." The young guy was like "I don't know what to tell you ma'am I just graduated from tech school so I'm pretty good at my job." So I then told my husband "We're leaving and going to Christian Brothers were we always go we just thought this place was closer but screw that yeah we have the money but we're not going to just give it away. Over $1,000 are you kidding me!" So we went to Christian brothers and what do you know, I WAS RIGHT and HE /THEY WERE WRONG our total $25.50 for the State Inspection they saw No problems. Auto Care is a CROCK OF S?!T!!! Will we go back there? Hell No! Will we recommend this business? Hell No I hope your having a wonderful day & I hope this review is helpful SYOY! I went in today for service and there was one guy in the front talking on the phone, which included putting people on hold to answer other callers... No eye contact, no feedback, no help from the 5-6 techs hanging out and talking outside the window in the work bay area... After over 10 minutes of standing in front of the counter with no feedback or even a "just a minute" I left. Not a good experience and they need to work on customer service. read more

I have a 2008 Toyota Prius with over 200,000 miles on it. I began taking it to this shop approximately 2 years ago because the dealer was so expensive. I have not been disappointed. Perry and his staff are awesome! They never recommend work that doesn't need to be done, and the prices are lower than the dealership. I can't make an appointment, but that doesn't bother me because if I need to leave my car for them to work on, I can get a ride to work and then get picked up in the evening. I have had to get several repairs and exams done on my 2003 Ford Explorer sport. They customer service was great. The works were friendly. My vehicle was having trouble with the brakes I got them to look at it and that really saved me because it turned out that my entire braking system was not working. They got me a quote and even worked with me on the price. They did a great job replacing my braking system and I haven't had any problems with my brakes since. I had noticed that the brake light was on so I got them to look at it they did look at it for free and found out that the brakes were perfectly fine after the repairs and that the brake light was on because one on the tire sensors was slow. I was planning to do some miner modifications to my care and asked them were they recommend they helped me find a place they gave me a great quote for the modification I wanted done.I truly recommend this auto shop. They are friendly, hardworking, helpful and hardworking. read more

After doing some research and contacting a Toyota dealership regarding their "claim," of said problem, turned out to be something so simple as replacing the battery!! They charged me 800 dollars for alternator by nov/2017 , it broke down last night really far from there, and now they don't cover anything because i have to tow the car there , cost( $ 300), i just need the new part... Have a mercedes SLK 350 and needed new brake pads and shoes BADLY. I was terrified of the cost so I shopped around and these guys gave me the best price and really helped me out.
