Second time visiting Auto Check CR. Once for inspection and most recently for an AC check/fix. The Service Manager, David, assisted me throughout my service visits. The team found my issue with the AC quickly and identified a crippling fuse as the culprit. They were able to preserve the fuse by cleaning it up, which I didn't expect at all, and the AC was running again. The AC issue identification service didn't take long and I would say for the price, it was reasonably fair; very one-of-kind in my experience. They ordered my replacement fuse as requested and received it within a few days. I went to the shop and they replaced it right away. The professionalism, knowledge, communication, and cleanliness of the shop will keep me as a lifetime customer. I highly recommend this shop! read more

I bought an old VW Rabbit convertible. They did a great job doing a "post purchase" inspection. A few minor repairs and one big one replacing the 42 year old catalytic converter with an OEM replacement. After driving the car several months I wanted to improve its ride. They replaced the shocks and struts and the improvement is amazing. They also replaced the 9 and 10 year old tires. They have been amazingly helpful and have not recommended any unnecessary repairs. Horrible customer service! I've attempted twice to have my car inspected here. First I arrived and was told you must make an appointment for an inspection, "morning hours only because once our mechanic begins working on jobs he doesn't stop to do inspections". That was 6 months ago and I respected that decision and went elsewhere for my inspection. Fast forward, yesterday I called fir an appointment for an inspection on another vehicle. I was told there was no appointment necessary, "we'll squeeze you in regardless of the time you arrive". I advised employee of my attempts 6 months ago to get an inspection, to which he said "that guy was fired for saying things like that". I asked if it was better to arrive in morning hours, he said no whenever it's convenient for you. Well today I arrived at 5:35pm to get an inspection, and i was turned away because they cannot perform inspections after 5:30pm as the machine may cut off before they ate finished. I advised him of my call yesterday, and attempts to do 6 months ago, he apologized and said" that's a new employee that probably needs training". Offered to do it for free tomorrow. At this point I'm done, my time and effort is worth more than this. I've had work done her before and was pleased. That was before COVID. Unfortunately customer service disappeared after COVID, excuses being no one wants to work. Well at some point businesses have to take the responsibility of properly training employees, and taking responsibility when they fail. Don't continue to inconvenience the consumer that is trying to do business with you! read more

Took my vehicle in for a repair on Monday 1/2/23, I was called by David the following day and informed that the repair was completed, (Almost a $1000 parts & labor.) however during the process of the repair, the technician locked the key in the vehicle. The technician used a lockout kit to unlock the door. I was told the inside of the door was scratched, touch up paint was used (with out my approval) and they wanted me to be happy before I left the shop. I expected the scratch to be small and not a problem. I was wrong. In using the lockout kit, the technician left multiple scratches to the metal and destroyed the weatherstripping on the door. It looked like a child had taken a crowbar to the inside of the door. I asked the following questions and received NO ANSWERS. "Why was a window NOT ROLLED DOWN?!?" No answer. "Why was I not called when the keys were locked in the car to bring up a spare set?" No answer. "Why was a technician allowed to use touch up paint with out my consent?" No answer. That is by no means their right to do that, if you look at the damage in the photos it is clear. During my inspection, I was told by David (Service Manager) if it was his car, he would be pissed and that they would do what was necessary to make this right. I left the Jeep at the shop until my Body & Paint specialist was able to go by to give an estimate. No rental car was offered. I made the decision to leave the Jeep on the premise to prevent the shop from going back on their word to fix the damage. Why would I trust a shop that caused $1,000 in damages to the door and hood to hold onto their word?!? 1/9/23 Repair estimate is delivered to Jim Koehn (Part owner of the location and the Kingsland Auto Check), after looking over the estimate he says, "Well it looks like a wash with the repair and the cost to fix the damage." Jim expected me to be fine with calling the cost to repair the damage and the work already done as a wash, not pay anything, and move on. The lack of sincerity in his words was shocking coming from the owner. I explained to him, that they will be delivering the Jeep to my paint specialist & then retrieving the Jeep once the work was completed. At this point a "shop car" was offered as a rental (6 days after I trusted them to fix my Jeep and only offered because I said something about there not being a rental car offered) I declined due to them offering a "Shop Vehicle" and not a full rental from a company. The Jeep was finished Monday 1/16/23. I went by today (1/19/23) to close the deal and figure out what was fair to be paid. I went in wanting to be fair, I wanted to do what I believed was the right thing to do, I said that I would pay for the parts ($500) and not the labor. Jim stated laughingly that, "in no way was I (Jim) paying him (the technician) for that job." Referencing the work done by the technician on the Jeep and the $1000 in damages done. I offered the $500, Jim didn't counter and accepted. I got halfway home with the thought, "He knew he wasn't going to pay the technician anything, he could have helped offset the cost of parts knowing that ahead of time." In addition to not having my Jeep for 2 weeks, I feel like I was swindled out of $500. I went back and expressed my displeasure to Jim. I fully stated how I expected the conversation to change nothing and no refund or money was returned. Friends, family told me they would not have paid a penny & I should have listened. I wanted to be fair. Other Auto Shops said that they would not have charged the customer anything due to the negligence of the technician. I will not be returning to Cinco Ranch Auto Check. I advise you to go to Katy Auto Care off of I10. Ownership allegedly changed around 2 years ago, if you are considering this location or Kingsland, go elsewhere. read more

My boyfriend took my car here for an inspection yesterday and I think we've found our new place! All the workers here are so friendly and honest. Henry was knowledgeable and kind. We took our car to get a state inspection, oil change, AC fixed, and serpentine belt replaced. All of this for under $400! And we were always promptly texted or called to keep us updated on our car. They actually triggered the check engine light and let us know, and asked if they could keep it for the day to look at it. We woke up early to a text message the next day that our car was ready! So easy and by the time we got there, our car was ready to go and everything works perfectly including our AC which we've taken to numerous places only to have them put frion in it and send us on our way.
