Great service, a preferred shop for '02s! I won a gift certificate at the Brisbane 02 car show earlier, in October, and it allowed me to bring it in to get some work done on the car. It was great to show they are huge participants of the show and the cars. Brought it here with a specific focus, and they came through and brought it back to life! I recommend them :). Labor service is a bit higher than what I'm typically used to, but I'm pretty sure it's because it's in SF and a semi-prime location. I drove into San Francisco on vacation, and my car had a very bad leak; the coolant tank was empty! It was 4pm and I knew I had to RUSH to get checked into my hotel, unload the car, and drop it off for repairs. I opened Yelp and chose Auto Dynamik immediately, the only shop with 5 stars in the area. Brendan took his time with me on the phone, and explained everything thoroughly - he made certain I understood the car would have to stay overnight. Throughout the repair process, communication was excellent, and I had no worries or doubts that my baby was in excellent hands. I met Brendan's mother when I picked the car up, and she is just as nice as he is. Brendan took multiple photos of my car and sent them by text, so that I could see other issues that will need to be addressed in the future (with no pressure to let him do the work). I won't hesitate to bring my car back here, but hopefully won't need to! This may be the first time I've felt so calm about having my car repaired, which isn't easy to achieve when you know you have to check out and drive back out of town soon after. read more

Brought in my Vanagon to fix the air conditioning and do a general maintenance check before taking it on a road trip. My van had been running completely fine and I had no issues with it. After Auto Dynamik fixed the air conditioning I picked up my car and 2 days later the engine over heated on the freeway causing severe damage. The alternator belt was not properly reinstalled and the engine cooling system had been bypassed not alerting the gauge of engine temperature. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP OR ELSE YOUR CAR WILL BE DAMAGED!!! Absolutely furious at their lack of competence and inability to take responsibility for their poor work. This shop caused more issue than it solved. Would give zero stars if possible! read more

A long due review. I crashed my car one year ago and went to another mechanic who didn't look at the car after 3 days. He could not even to give me an estimate. I called dynamik and got my car checked with an estimate in two days. It was worth it. My car came back like new. I didn't have insurance and they worked my car with used parts to make the service cheap but with a great quality. Very customer friendly with a great support. I went there to check my car and I saw two guys working on it. I really loved it. All the employees were very reliable. I strongly recommend this place. read more

Hami is the ONLY HONEST MECHANIC I've ever met. After being yanked around by Honda several times over a funky transmission problem, Hami called it and told me how Honda would fight me on it. He also said he was not qualified to do it. So he sent me away. Other times, his oil changes, intermediate service, etc. etc. have always been totally right on. The neighborhood is kind of sketchy -- being the wine country and all -- so walking back up to Market can feel a little iffy, but really, he's worth it. Great mechanic! I took my bmw wagon to another place first and they quoted me $5200 for a huge list of components that needed to be replaced. Brought it here and Hami looked at the list and called me back promptly. He gave a detailed explanation and found that much of the other quote was totally unnecessary. I brought an older BMW to Auto Dynamik and Hami and his son did a wonderful job bringing it back to life - I'd neglected to service the car for a number of years as it sat parked, so I knew it needed a few things (timing belt, water pump, etc.). When I dropped it off I also pointed out a few other vague issues that I'd noticed. I received the car today and it is running incredibly smoothly. Whenever I need any work done on my '97 Toyota Corolla (yes, the Office Space car), I ONLY take it here. Hami goes over everything that's wrong with your car in detail and you never the feeling that you're being screwed over (like with other mechanics). I've had a recurring problem with the engine light in my VW 1999 Cabrio, either not going on, or being on all of the time. This always led to problems getting my car to pass the smog test. I never thought I'd like and trust a car repair shop. But I do. And that shop is Auto Dynamik. Hami has been working on my Audi A4 for about 2 years now. I'm always pleased with the service and believe Hami is a straightshooter who gives me solid advice about my car. But he also goes above and beyond the call of duty. Most recently my car flat out died on me ... and stopped. Thankfully I had already come home to the city (and crossed the Bay Bridge) and it died on a relatively quiet street in Pac Heights where my biggest danger was getting verbally assaulted by cars passing around my stalled car. Well, it also died at 4:55pm on a Friday night. Hami closes at 5pm. I called him immediately and he and his wife waited for me and my car TWO HOURS b/c it took a full 1hr for the AAA tow truck to even arrive. The fix wasn't an easy one but Hami did a lot of troubleshooting and knows Audis very well. I would add that I now regularly go to Hami for my 10,000 mile check ups. read more

Recently, I had a problem with my VW Golf TDI's transmission and other mechanics told me I had to replace my transmission and quoted me $3600-$4000. These guys do more than just VW's. I brought in my Honda Accord, because the brakes were making a high-pitched squeal. I called around 10am, they said they were busy but would try to look at it today or if not, I could leave it and they would get to it tomorrow. Turned out, not only did they look at it, but they fixed it by 3pm. The reason why I would rate them at the top is that they looked at the brakes, saw that it was only the back brakes pads, no rotor, no front brake issue, and they just repaired what was wrong. No hassle, quick, inexpensive, honest. I wish I could say that such things are common in car repair, but in my experience, that ain't the case. Go here. read more
