FYI the sales tax is not included in the price of their cars! + expect rude customer service.

We all know the experience of car shopping…read more The knots in the stomach. The puppy dog salesperson that follows you around the lots when you'd rather be left alone to have a private conversation. With yourself, or with a loved one, doesn't really matter. The bait and switch... you know... you call ahead "hey do you have x car still?" They respond, "why yes, yes we do..." ...than you arrive only to find out some variation of 1) the person who told you the car was on the lot was not authorized to do so, 2) it isn't actually there, and 3) it takes 3-7 business days to update the website. The finance office whether you are pre-financed or not. The horrible coffee that looks like mud. Let's stop there because my anxiety is through the roof just thinking about it. Now, allow me to introduce you to Parklane Auto. Parklane is a different ball game. It's family owned. We drove the 19 miles (one way) to the dealership and took a risk. And boy, are we glad we did. We initially met Peter, our salesman, when we drove up in our 2005 Toyota Prius base model. The dealership is like no other dealership you have experienced before. Totally inconspicious - The facility is spotless, the cars are garaged indoors and are clean (maybe about 15 cars total) and you usually stumble upon Parklane when you are in the market for a specific make/model of a car and they have it. Peter offered us snacks (yay Doritos) and an upbeat attitude while we waited for his Uncle to arrive from Baltimore to offer us a price on our used Toyota. Eventually, we purchased a 2013 Toyota Prius III with 19k miles and pristine condition for an amazing price. The process took about 10 days total to complete due to a title snafu but Peter let us take delivery on our new-to-us Prius early, so we got our American instant gratification from the start. Peter explained the entire process and put our minds and wallets at ease in the end. We would have absolutely no doubt in returning to Parklane. Although now that we have a new-to-us vehicle, we should be set for awhile. And don't let their small unheard of name intimidate you. They know what they are doing.

I really wanted to go with Ziebart, but the experience just wasn't great. They weren't very…read moreresponsive and didn't seem all that interested in helping. I had a few questions about the type of undercoating they use and whether there were less damaging options in case it ever chipped. The answers I got felt rushed and vague, and then they just stopped replying altogether. I ended up doing the job myself with Fluid Film and Cosmoline. It was definitely messier and probably not as thorough as a pro could do, but I didn't feel confident they'd take the time or care to do it right. Disappointing.

The remote start isnt top of the line but whenever I have an issue with it or the FOB. I bring it in and they take care of it no questions asked. Be sure to buy the extended warranty on it. Without it the fob antenna has broken several times and the warranty covers it for replacement at no additional cost. As for the rustproofing, not much to say its doing what it's suppose to do. One year they oversprayed my rims with the rustproof coating. Took it back and cleaned it off. Since then have been excellent and no further issues on touchups. My only dislike i can say is the undercoating smells. It will get some getting used to until it dissipates after about a week on first application and futher applications. Service has been doing great since my first visit back in 2016 and will continue to do business with them.

I completely agree with the post from above. Luxury Motors is TERRIBLE. They are a complete rip off…read moreand it is common knowledge in Chicagoland that they are shady. For example, we called asking about a specific car that was listed on their website tonight at 6:30pm. The salesman Elio assured us the car was in perfect condition, free from accidents. Even after my fiancee quizzed him on the car, stating he was a wholesale dealer & would check the car with a paint meter, the guy assured us the car was clean & ready to sell. After driving 45 minutes from downtown we arrived at 7:40pm only to find out the car WAS NEVER actually there! He not only lied about checking the car for paint issues, he lied about the car being at the O'Hare location! SHADY! He came up with several excuses but the bottom line is we wasted an evening for nothing. Don't waste your time with these guys, they are liars.

Thought I should write an update to my horrible post because HORRIBLE doesn't seem to even be…read morestrong enough. I JUST got a letter saying that there was a recall on ignition coils... a year and a half after my car broke down because of the ignition coil, I get a letter (i realize this isn't Luxury Motors fault this time--its VW's.)Wanted to be fair and clear that part up. Here comes the rest of my dislike for Luxury motors: I specifically asked if they certified their used cars and was told while they don't "certify" they DO guarantee that they check all maintenance and that the cars are in "top shape". My car since the last post started breaking down 6 months ago when I was on the interstate heading to Indiana. Then the check engine light came on (for some reason, my check engine comes on when the car is literally on the side of the road--but not any time before that). Took it to a mechanic and found out the treading system was on causing the auto breaks to turn on when I was driving?! Cussed for a few minutes and drove away. My car needed an oil change so I took it at my hometown. They didn't have the right filter so couldn't change it, but told me that I was 2 quarts low. They topped it off and told me to keep an eye on it because that was a lot of oil. Took my car 1 week later to a Chicago Jiffy Lube where I was told it was 3 quarts low and now I had to flush my system. Paid $120.00 and took it to a mechanic (my car in the meantime had been hit on the street while parked--bad luck huh?) Took it in and the mechanic can't find a leak. He says that it could be burning oil which means the engine is shot. I bought this car in 2007 when it was 3 years old and had 67,000miles on it. It now has 88,000 miles and is potentially completely useless to me. I owe $9,000 still, have put $5,000 to fix and can't even drive it?! When the economy is in the shitter, you'd think people would want to be better than their competition. Not LUXURY MOTORS. I owe so much because when I bought the car I purchased the extended warranty.. its a joke.. everything that happened to my car I was told was not covered by the warranty, so got rid of that and now have a very expensive, pretty, homeless cat and bug house. UGG!!!! I wrote a letter. We'll see where that gets me. I am potentially getting a lawyer and will more than likely alert the BBB as well. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE. I also didn't mention that the car salesman asked me out and was a total douche. I hate you luxury motors... I know hate is a strong word--but this is a strong feeling. I feel so helpless and so ripped off!
