I do not believe this place is owned by the individual currently mentioned on yelp. Whatever the case, it is definitely not fitting the descriptions on yelp. I would say this place is an average mechanic shop. It appears to be owned and ran by the mechanic and felt very much like a one-man-shop. Parking lot is full of cars needing repairs and almost resembles a car parts yard. You may have difficulty parking yourself due to lack of space. The guy working the counter and doing the repairs is very nice. He struggles with the admin tasks though which leads me to believe he only recently had to undertake the role. He seemed very friendly and knowledgeable about repairs. I have no reason to doubt his mechanic abilities right now. I only came in for an oil change. He could not complete the oil change due to the a problem he pointed out to me. Without proper front-desk admin staff, things moved along at a snails pace. The phone went unanswered at least three times when I was there and the calls went to voice mail while the phone was set to speaker mode; causing me to have to listen to the messages people were leaving. It seems to have remnants of a place once ran efficiently, clean, and aesthetically appealing in the waiting area. But now it suffers from clutter creep, aging magazines, a broken heater, exposed phone wires, and disorganization. I liked the mechanic and hope he is able to get this place to how it was described in past reviews. Right now, it's just not happening. Regardless, I would say this a place requiring a lot of patience and desperately in need of organization and efficiency improvements. The prices were fair, but don't expect to get in-and-out in a couple of hours nor be surprised if you often get to the answering service when trying to call. Update 2/10/20: Took my vehicle to my usual mechanic to point out the problems the mechanic at Auto Expressions pointed out. Turns out Auto Expressions was wrong. The problem he said was he could not remove a bottom splash shield from my truck in order to reach the oil filter. He even showed me the bolts he was trying to remove. He must have been using a wrong sized socket head. Other shop removed them without a power tool. Removing a star. Buyer beware. read more

I've taken my car to Auto Expressions for many years. They did used to be in a different location that had more space for parking, and sometimes they aren't the most efficient. BUT....they are an *honest* shop and I don't hesitate to bring my car here. On the rare instance where something isn't right after being in the shop (which happens everywhere), they are really good about making it right. I definitely recommend them, and I will continue to have them service all my vehicles. read more

After a positive experience with ARSC doing an oil change on my '08 Prius, I brought my '08 CR-V in to have them diagnose an oily fluid leak that had got much worse recently. After thoroughly cleaning the undercarriage, they told me to drive around for a while and then come back so they could pinpoint the source. After a few hours, I came back and they were able to immediately determine that an axle seal was leaking. I set up an appointment to bring it in the next day. There was a delay for getting the needed part, so they weren't able to get the job done by the end of the day, but they successfully completed the job by 11:30 the next day. I brought my car in for check engine light and oil change. dropped it off about 10am .received a call about 11am letting me know it was an o2 sensor. the man was very nice and explained in detail what was causing the problem and how much it would cost. I was worried that my car wouldn't be ready when I got off work ..previous auto shops never had my car ready on time and always cost more than what they said it would be.anyway I got off work and went to get my car and not only had they done the oil change and o2sensor but it was washed and the tire pressure checked all the fluids were topped off and they did a full inspection at no charge. thanks read more

Went to the shop for the first time a few months ago based on a recommendation from a friend and have been back several times since... all positive experiences. They have free wifi so I can make use of my time when I wait. Kevin is the owner and is behind the desk and answering calls, but he knows cars as well as his mechanics do. The first time I went in for an oil change I asked for the price over the phone, and that's exactly what I paid out the door... no fees or tax on top of it, just the straight up price... the way it should be! read more

Kevin has been my Mechanic of choice for the last 8 years. Throughout the many vehicles I have had, he and his staff have been honest to their detriment at times. I know that Kevin could have made much more money from me if he had taken other paths to diagnose my car problems but to his credit he has saved me money at times when it really mattered and has never taken advantage of me or anyone I have sent to him. I send my family and friends even my own mother to Auto expressions and they have all had positive experiences with him. It is a rare ting to find a mechanic who empathizes with his customer's and can be trusted without fail. I challenge anyone to refute these statements. On a further note, I find that it is wholly unethical for a person to post a scathing review for reasons other than actual experience. To try and hurt a business because of a personal family related issue is without reproach and shows the character of the one who wrote it. Fellow consumers, please do not be fooled into a misunderstanding by the negative review below. I took my car in for a transmission flush and oil change in preparation for an 1100 mile trip. Everything's running great. What really impressed me was the friendliness of the staff, especially the owner, Kevin. I was referred to this shop today by my neighbor when my van wouldn't start. She spoke highly of them so I figured I would call them. They were so helpful on the phone and when I mentioned that I would probably call a mobile mechanic, David drove out to my house and was troubleshooting for me even before he had it towed for me. He took care of everything and he even made sure the tow went smoothly!! He worked way past his shift to make sure we were all not without a vehicle. He even called me to give me an update when he could have just called it a day! He was conscientious, professional, mindful and just basically a good human to do business with. I would refer my mom and kids to this shop! My heart is happy to find this place. They were able to diagnose the problem quickly and find an affordable option for repair. They work was done quickly, and for less than the estimated cost. They asked me to return the next day to make sure the sensor was working properly -- I've never had an auto shop ask me to come back in to double check the quality of the repair before. This place is wonderful! I got a flat tire today so I took the truck into Costco, they stripped something and couldn't take the hub cap off. My fiancé called around to try and figure out where to take the truck. Folsom Ford quoted us $450.... Well good thing we didn't go there because this place fixed the issue in a hour for $10. I came here to have a crappy coilover adjustment redone and an alignment they did a good job on my coilovers but my alignment was out of wack still. Not because of there work but I need a few parts to correct it. So I went back and they figured out the problem with no extra charge and gave me a pretty good quote on labor. Years ago, an old friend recommended Auto Expressions. He said, "I trust them." I concur and have taken three vehicles to them. On one occasion, they worked on my car at half the price than the dealer estimate. On another occasion, the dealer told my daughter (who lives in Rohnert Park) that she needed a $1,200 service. So, we took the estimate to Kevin and after checking for problems, he found that the service estimated wasn't necessary. In other words, there was nothing wrong with her car. A final note: My son drove in from San Diego this past Thanksgiving, and his car was making a strange noise and would falter at times. I called Kevin and told him I was worried about my son driving back to San Diego. My son took the car to Auto Expressions the day before Thanksgiving, and Kevin and crew worked on it non-stop until 6pm and at a fraction of what it would have cost at a dealer. I know that he and his team wanted to close early and go home to their families, but Kevin was also concerned for my son's safety. My son's car is running great! I may be the one person who gives this business for a one star but they have given my car the worst service I've ever had. I HAD a toyota corolla which had a check engine light issue which was only to be resolved by rebuilding a new transmission for my car, which auto expressions did. However it didn't cause the light to turn off but luckily I still managed to make it pass smog by other means. What really bugs me is what occured today after a year and a half of them putting in a new transmission.....out of nowhere my car breaks down and after another mechanic took a look to tell me my transmission is shot I have no words to describe my disappointment with the low quality work auto expressions did on my toyota. I took good care of my car and transmissions don't just crap out after barely two years of being rebuilt. Warrinity is out for the work of course so all I figured is warn others about the poor care/quality auto expressions do on cars. Thanks for nothing. read more
