Horrible. Terrible. I went in 6 WEEKS before a trip into the mountains to have a spare tire rack and some rain deflectors for the front windows and side door of my camper van installed. I chose one of the racks the sales guy showed me online and happily went with his upsell of a kit to allow the rack to also hold a gas can. I paid for everything and per their request, waited a week to call back for an installation appointment. Upon receipt of payment, their customer service disappeared. I called every week and was told every single time that the rack and gas can parts would be in on Friday, please call back Monday. I asked if they could at least install the rain deflectors and they said they had to do it all at the same time. It was when they finally installed the rack the day before I left for my trip (6 weeks later) that we determined I needed more parts to be able to carry a gas can, and of course it was too late to order those parts. They also didn't have the rain deflectors to install. The guy told me he'd call me when they got them so I could have them installed when I got back. Needless to say I have not heard one word from them. Now I'm going to have to hassle them to get my money back for those parts I already paid for. So that's my bad service complaint. I'm not done yet. They also overcharge. In looking through the rack website to learn about the gas can parts I still need, it clearly says the rack I purchased can be installed in about an hour with simple hand tools. These professionals needed 3 hours to install the rack. I'm not done yet. They also do sloppy work. The part that they DID install for the gas can adaptor fell off. Fortunately I saw it so I still have it. I will be doing the rest of the installation myself, once I get all the parts I need. I couldn't possibly do a worse job than these guys. read more

I was looking for a vendor to install a name brand spray-in bedliner, I sent several quote request via net/websites. Auto FX responded 3 weeks after. To their credit, Steve was friendly and they were the ONLY return I received on my numerous quote request. (That's 1 star) I requested and received a 15% discount to his original verbal quote. I agreed and scheduled the appointment. Upon arrival; the business was clean, well maintained, the staff professional and friendly. (Star 2) Unfortunately; after altering my schedule and driving 2 vehicles 30 mile each to arrive at Auto FX, I was disappointed by "additional charges". This basically negated the originally offered 15% discount and added another 8% above Mr Steve's original verbal quote. Ultimately, I declined the service as it exceeded my budget and his quote by 30% after taxes. (With taxes--Should be $550 with additional quoted charges and taxes it would be $720. Figures are rounded-off) NO WORK was performed. Therefore; the quality of services is NOT a part of this review. Review is based solely upon the sales contract negotiation. I wished to have been able to give a better review as we did indeed wish to make an agreeable purchase. A spray in bedliner in a base truck can reasonably be expected to be a menue style pricing without "additional charges". read more

I came here to fix my sunroof because the sunroof not only didn't open or work at all, but it also leaked water into the car. I went to South Tacoma glass and bought the new sunroof glass for 995 dollars (Auto Fx would have charged the same amount for the glass as well by the way, NOT including labor) only for them to tell me they can't put the glass in until I fix the motor itself. So they sent me to THIS place, Auto Fx, where I had to pay 327 bucks JUST for them to diagnose what's wrong, which I ALREADY knew what was wrong, which was the motor. They called and said that it wasn't only the motor, it was also the cables that pull the sunroof because they had completely rusted and seized. So I bought the replacement cables from them and that came out to 1,396 dollars (again not even including the labor) and so when the cables got sent to the shop they called me to tell me the parts are in but you wanna know the kicker? The labor cost to put it all in?? 1,485 BUCKS. At this point I had paid out of pocket 2,719.86 dollars, and that DOESNT include the 1,485 I'm gonna had to pay in labor for them to put it in. So the total cost at this time was 4,204 dollars. BUT WAIT, there's more. So they put in the glass and cables, which totaled out to 4.2k right? Guy calls me and goes "so I completely forgot that your MOTOR doesn't work! So silly of me to forget that we have charged you 4.2k in total and your sunroof still doesn't work because of the motor that you told us was broken and we completely forgot!!" Yea. They did all that just to remember that my sunroof motor was broken. Whole F'ing reason why I got referred to them from the glass shop!! At this point I am furious. The guy ended up saying that since they absolutely F'ed me over with this whole sunroof, if I paid for the motor, they'd put it in for free, and then it would all be done. So I paid the final price for the motor and I didn't have to pay the labor for them to put it in, oh gee how nice.... So in total it was 4,400 dollars for this sunroof, AND the guy called me AGAIN before I picked the car up to say that the tilt feature of the sunroof wasn't gonna work so they had to cut the wire for the tilt feature, so my sunroof only slides back and forth. Not the end of the world, but for a $4.4k job, you'd want everything to work in the end, but whatever. So yea, after 5 plus trips to this place and 4.4k dollars later, my sunroof works!!!! Yayyyyy I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. They will F you over on charges for diagnoses and labor at this place I left very unsatisfied it's almost immoral what they charged me for a sunroof. read more

This place was recommended from another shop who kindly declined to do some work outside their scope of expertise. I opted for the medium grade ceramic tint. The price was substantially high. I figure you get what you pay for. The final details look good, but the material appeared to leave a light blur on the window. For the quality of materials I could have gotten the same tint for a fourth of the price. Overall, the experience from start to finish was good but disappointed with the end results for amount spent. Their loss was my gain as I wanted to change the look of my ride by adding some after market rims (Momo Revenge) and a set of Eibach springs (prokit to be precise), I had won both through company incentive program and was having a heck of a time finding someone to install them (because sourced them through a different party). the guys were super helpful. Very impersonal. Definitely not customer-oriented. They care more about the $$ then making sure they have happy customers. I had an aftermarket sunroof installed in the purchase of my car. A few years back I had some work done on my roof at a separate auto body shop. Then a few years later I get a recall notice for my sunroof glass. I brought it to Auto FX and got it taken care of. That experience was not bad, but still, they were straight business and not very personable. Then recently, I noticed moisture in my ceiling. Not sure what the problem was but knowing it involved the sunroof, I went back to AutoFX just to see if they would step outside in the parking lot to peek at the car with a professional eye to help me pinpoint the problem and what I could do - being that I put faith in them to be experts in sunroofs. A simple courtesy look over was all i was after. The guy at the front didn't seem to want to even step out of the door without getting all my information and making an appointment for a $150 "diagnostic". After that he finally stepped out and looked at it but only after I continued to ask. The next day at my appointment I dropped off the car and within a few minutes I was told that the problem was that the sunroof seal was not sealed after the body shop work from years ago. I was shown the obvious gap in the back of the seal. Had I been shown this the day before during a courtesy look over, I could have went back to the body shop that did the roof work and had them take care of it. This would have and should have been a simple thing to see for "sunroof experts". I am unsure why he didn't see this "obvious gap" the day before. But I am more disappointed that they didn't see these obvious things while they did my sunroof recall. Since I was already in it for a non-refundable $150 and the car was right there I had them finish sealing the sunroof. Over $250 later just to seal the sunroof that they missed noticing when working on it a little while ago, I'm left wondering why I thought these "sunroof experts" could have helped me save $. Some simple customer courtesy is all it would have taken to get a happy customer to continue to refer business to them. I cannot recommend AutoFX. read more

Consequently, I had the opportunity to spend an entire day at Auto FX and witnessed how they treated every customer with respect and patience. Had a sunroof installed here in December of 2020. Drove from Bend Oregon because the sunroof manufacturer (Wabasto) had temporarily stopped making/distributing units due to Covid. Otherwise I would have had the job done in Portland. The first major problem was they used the wrong color headliner. didn't realize this until I got home the next day in the daylight. Had to drive round trip 6 hours to Portland to fix. Very thankful AutoFX paid to correct this. Next problem came this year ( Jan 2022) with a rattling sound from behind the sunroof. Back to Portland for another fix. The sunroof frame was hitting the roof of the car and appeared to be an install issue. I would recommend using a different vendor if you are looking to have an aftermarket Wabasto sunroof installed. I love the sunroof but the install was marginal and more expensive than others. Make sure you have a company re-use your headliner board so it will be more factory original and keep the same headroom. The floating style fabric headliner isn't very nice at all. Auto FX were very nice and friendly it's just this install didn't go well. read more

I dumped a lot of cash here to get my car looking like I wanted, but it won't happen again. Tacoma Subaru recommended this place. We got off to a good start, but it went downhill. I dropped off my car, instructions and details were discussed. Install leather interior, and exterior trim add ons from manufacturer to spiff up the cars appearance. Hourly rates to apply. At the time to pick up, I was told they had been trying to reach me. I waited another day and was told same, but no reason and yet the phone they were calling was a mix of home & cell... Not my number. Car looks nice at first glance, let's have a closer look, but whoa there... All the exterior add ons were dirty, still covered in some white dust from packing and a million fingerprints. For a couple of thousand in labor fees, the least they can do is clean up after themselves, it took a few seconds to wipe off. There was a razor blade left in the cargo area. I found it the hard way. My leather seats, " Katzkin" is not cheap - but the two front seats don't match! These seat covers are a kit, somebody has to hand piece this together. Well, for $2,000 they messed up big time. One seat in front has the perforated leather where it is supposed to be, the other was mismatched with smooth on the drivers seat back. The rear seats match as intended. For a lot of money they messed up my car. No way. Rates and dollars are one thing, shoddy work is another matter altogether. I have no problem paying for goods and services, done right. read more

Also, my taillights came out better looking better then the ones autofx showed me. I would not take my car here or recommend that anyone does. read more

I LOVE these guys! Initially we were turned onto these guys when my mother purchased her brand new 2005 Ford Mustang and purchased a hologram package for the dashboard. Titus Will had a contract with AutoFX and they did the extra package. Their handy-work on her custom dash is awesome, and five years later it's still mint. Then, when my younger sister purchased her Audi A4, she wanted tinted windows and we went to AutoFX! Since we all had a very busy schedule, we were unable to pick up her car during business hours, so we asked if they could leave the car out in the parking lot with a drop box for the keys. Although that would've been convenient, the employees told us that they were afraid of anything happening to the vehicle if left outside in a not so great part of town (at night, at least). They kept the car overnight, free of charge, in their secure garage. We were able to pick up the next day! Next, I use them frequently! I recently purchased a Ford Mustang and have tons and tons of plans for...special extras. But it'll have to happen in baby steps. So I came in with a set budget of what I could spend and told them all of what I wanted to do to the car, then asked what they could do for that amount. They offered a full black-out package, tinting my windows and light covers for my set budge--which normally cost MORE than my set budget. But they worked with me and made it happen! My car looks amazing as an end result! I am and will be using them for further car customization! The employees are funny, accommodating, and pretty much awesome. If you have a special project for your vehicle, I highly recommend these guys. They know their stuff and they're good. read more

WARNING BE AWARE ...........THIS SHOP DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WORK. Had windows tinted,wood trim and a sunroof installed in my Honda. Lifetime warranty on the tint installation.Tinting lifted on my windows so I took my car back for the lifetime warranty. Manager Chris Diedrich said they would have to charge me to have old tint removed and also charge me for re-installation of new tinting but would be willing to give me the tint film for free. My receipt says Lifetime warranty covers blistering, defective film,peeling and scratching. DO YOU REALLY WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH A COMPANY LIKE THIS???? read more
