My Toyota tacoma was left for the entire day to have the upper and lower engine cleaned, and exterior washed and waxed. I picked it at 4pm to find the exterior not washed/waxed. When I asked about the exterior I was told "that work item didn't get transferred to other paperwork", and I was handed my keys with oh sorry about that. I was disappointed after spending more than $300 that I wasn't offered better customer service especially when I was willing to pay 167 dollars for a wax service on top of what I already paid. I could have been offered to come back, a discount, how about a sincere apology for not doing what was promised? On another note the engine steam was not worth the money at all. Not sure who they have doing this work but total lacks attention to detail. Don't waste your money with this place!!!! If my vehicle were a dealer vehicle things would be much different. I've used VanCours for years, I won't be back. Apparently, they don't need my business. Find somewhere else to go. I also noticed all the 4-5 star ratings are from 2021 and older, they must have gone through some staff changes since then. read more

Good result on the quality of the work, but the pricing is not transparent. Company website is not updated with current pricing and does not reflect what you will actually pay. they will also hit you with an additional 3% charge for using a debit or credit card (anything but cash) and so the price will likely be approx. $100 more than what is listed on their website for your vehicle once you add in correct pricing, tax, card fee, etc. Good service but you will pay a high price for it. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!! These people are unprofessional and do not care about the value of their work. I paid $400 for the best detail service they offered. They do not wash your car or pressure wash it, I had visible dirt and just grime on a lot of body parts. They didn't clean my headlights, they left a ton of spots where they didn't wipe the wax off properly, they didn't clean my interior windshield. They didn't wipe down a ton of stuff inside the vehicle and the stuff they did wipe down was done using the most slippery stuff I've ever encountered. My entire interior was coated in the shiny garbage that caused my foot to slip off the brake and gas pedal almost causing an accident. When I called and asked what was used, they tried telling me it was water based. No way. They also said I was being dramatic. I guess almost rear ending someone is a little dramatic in their eyes. Overall, there are so many places you could use for your detailing services and I would rather have lemon juice dropped in my eyes than deal with anyone from that shop again. Even the owner was rude and didn't have much to say about his workers garbage job that was performed. STAY AWAY AND SAVE YOURSELF A HEADACHE. read more

So I flew down from Alaska to drive my Jeep Cherokee to LA. When I got here I found someone had left the moon roof partially cracked open and the truck had an inch of standing water throughout the entire inside. The mold was horrendous and I was in a bad spot. Found these guys by recommendation from my friend and they saved the day. Fully removed the inside seats carpet and pad. Cleaned and dried everything. Sprayed treatment for mold and put it all back together. Jeep looks amazing now and after just a couple day delay I can start my trip down to deliver this vehicle to my elderly father. After adopting a couple rescue dogs in 2002 I purchased my first brand new car. It's a bright yellow Mazda Protégé 5 and it was designated the 'dog bus'. I still own this car and it has over 200k miles of memories. Needless to say, this car is very special to me. Anyhow, I stopped by VanCour's one afternoon to see if I could schedule an exterior detail and headlight restoration. They got me in the first part of the following week and when I went to pick her up I couldn't stop smiling!! We had our toyota pick up in last week for a detail stressing that the previous owner we purchased the truck from was a heavy smoker and it needed a deep clean to get the nicotine off the interior. We were assured they could get it clean. I got in the truck today a week after my wife picked up the truck only to find we wasted our time and money to have Van Cour's detail it. The visors and front side rails have not been cleaned as well as multiple areas where you can just sit in the seat and see where it hasn't been cleaned let alone actually detailed. very disappointed and would not return again if this is what they consider a detail. read more

I've had many different vehicles detailed by Van Cour's since the 90's. For the most part their work is adequate. I don't expect a show car detail for the price. In all fairness, I have taken them some real challenges over the years. I used to buy and sell a few cars and some were real slob mobiles that probably hadn't been clean since they were new. Other reviewers mentioned their gas getting used up. I've never particularly liked Van Cour's method of drying interiors by letting the car idle with the AC & heat running for hours. It works and doesn't harm the vehicle but there are better ways. Some of the other shops use dryers. For me Van Cour's is more a matter of convenience. Their shop is a couple of miles from my business so I can drop a vehicle off in the morning and they will give me a ride to work. I get a ride back in the evening to pick it up on my way home. read more

These guys did a great job and exceeded our expectations. We brought them a car that had lost its seven-year battle with our two young sons. It was basically trashed. I saw all of the negative reviews and was frankly shocked. I used van cours on the recommendation of a local auto shop that I trust. They said Van Cours was the best for a thorough auto detailing job. They told me the work was good quality and the people were honest. My experience was great. They did a thorough cleaning and did not miss a crevice. The windows were crystal clear, carpets were clean and the exterior was polished nicely. They had it done when they said they would. That is what we should expect of course. A good job for this type of service. I had no problems at all and didn't think of writing a review until I saw all of the negative ones. Let me say this. There was no up selling which I appreciate. I went to another place a year ago called C** T*** that up sold me on a detail to the tune of $100 and it looked no better than a basic clean and wax. I have an expectation from businesses that are service oriented, and it's this: I expect that if I pay someone else to do a job that I could do had I the time, that job should be done AT LEAST as well as I would have done it myself. Unfortunately, I have to add VanCour's to my list of "does not perform to expectations" list. I have an older boat with metal flake gelcoat. The top layer of gelcoat is in the process of going away, so whatever compounds are used on it must not be too aggressive or more damage will be done. VanCours was too aggressive with their compounding and they ground away part of the remaining metal flake causing visible damage to the finish. I also found a rather large spot where compound was still on the finish and I had to wipe it off myself, and there were smudges and other imperfections that could have been buffed out had the proper care been taken to remove them. These left over spots were on parts of the boat that did not have metal flake. The spots left I had to back over and fix myself after the job. I won't use VanCour's again. read more

Received detail as a gift. Got the truck back and was very disappointed. Looked like the hood hadn't been touched. Wax in door jams, along side of truck, and all over back of bug deflector. The raised white lettering was almost black from the tire dressing. Returned the truck to have the job finished. All they did was cleaned up the tires without even an apology. A child could have done a better job. Ended up finishing the job myself. They will never get my business again. read more

I was looking to see what I needed to do to the paint on my old Mercedes. I really didn't expect them to be able to do much but I am pretty sure I didn't get what i paid for. I am, at best a shade tree mechanic. I know just enough to know when I am being lied to. Honestly,I didn't get that feeling from these guys. But here is what happened. I dropped off my car for a wash and wax. Everything seemed to be fine and I was in a bit of a hurry when I picked up the car. So I didn't notice until the next day all the uncleaned buffing material and wax on the edges of my hood and door jams. Not hard to wipe off but still messy. Then, it rained. It does that sometimes here. ;) and while the water on my hood beaded up nicely, the roof and the trunk were a solid sheet of water. Even the lightest coat of wax would repelled some water. So, here it is. I got less than what I paid for. I wont return there. Too bad as they are close - but not the only game in town. Yes, I think the address is wrong as well. read more

I was designated driver for a night out with friends recently when one of my friends decided to puke all down the window well and door of my wife's new Buick Enclave. Needless to say, it was not pretty. Called Van Cour's early Saturday morning and am very happy that they not only worked me in but cleaned up all evidence of the evening. They took the door panels off and did a very complete clean as well as shampoo of the carpet. Best of all they kept the bill low which no doubt made my friend happy since he was paying for it. Have dealt mostly with Larry, has been a great experience over all. Had a bunch of random little things i needed (HIDs, window switch, rain guard, mirror, etc etc). The guys got everything ordered up for me, installed the headlights (immediately fixed it when I had an issue with them the next day), good communication, very helpful. Didn't oversell me anything, pricing all seems well within reason.. Running my own small business I understand the cost of overhead and keeping employees paid and the lights on while still maintaining a happy customer. I had HID lights installed on my 2010 jeep. However, about a month or so after, I noticed that my front driver side log would randomly go out and eventually it just stopped working. I have had to take my jeep back about 5 times. The first couple time they replaced the bulb, and it worked. The next time they looked around some more and told me that sometimes HID light jus do that. I'm not really good with cars so as long as it was working again I was ok with it. The third time I spoke to a young guy who didn't really seem to know what he was talking about and pretty much told me that they're working now so he doesn't see an issue and gave me tips about how to properly turn them on....... The 4th time I wasn't going to take some BS excuse so I made sure to talk to a seasoned worker who could actually do something. He told me he replaced a portion in the drivers side so it should be good. My lights worked for about a month and a half and boom, they stopped working again. This time I took it back and just wanted my money back or a solution. I spent too much money for lights that would only work sometimes. This time they took a better look and replaced another portion. The guy I spoke to informed me that if it happened again he would refund my money. It's been about 2 months since then and my lights seem like they're doing fine. I would of given them a higher rating if my lights worked better. They had pretty good costumer service. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE! Took my car in to get a detail done. There are a few stains on my seats, nothing bad, just light stains. They didn't do anything to get them out. Basically they just cleaned the dashboard and vacuumed. I then find that they broke my interior light switch and flat out refused to repair it. They said, "Prove it was done here". I couldn't believe the absolute horrible customer service from this place. And to top off their just ok job they gave me some generic driver side floor mats back! Mine have the name of my car model clearly embroidered on them. I guess at least they gave me the passenger side one back. Avoid this place at all cost! read more

I just had my 2012 Prius detailed at their Fife location. Frank, the manager, was friendly and professional. He gave me a ride to my office after dropping the car off. My expectation was to have the car look "like new" and they accomplished that, which I consider to be an achievement for a car that is 4+ years old and mostly neglected. Two things right off; First, the address seems to be wrong on this listing....Second, not sue where the bad reviews are coming from. I have a Kia Optima that has been sitting in my driveway for over a year not being driven. Recently, I decided to get it cleaned up and running so I could sell it. The car was used for camping and carried my German Shepherd pretty much everywhere. The car was gross inside, dog hair everywhere, dirt, stains it was bad. I took it to Van Cours and payed for there interior detail job. I dropped it off in the morning and got a call around 5 that it was ready. When I picked it up I could not believe the job they did! I didn't even recognize the car, the interior looked almost brand new, even the ink stain on the passenger seat (a complete bic pen had leaked out, over two years ago) was gone. The detail job these guys did was so far beyond my expectations. I have referred a few people to them and will be going back in with another vehicle shortly. The job they did was worth far more than I paid for!!! read more

Honestly I do not understand all the bad reviews. I am picky and was worried after reading them all, but gave them a try anyway when multiple cars at our residence were covered in paint overspray. The removed and restored the paint on 5 vehicles and they were immaculate. I checked them over thoroughly. The staff is always friendly and very helpful. Very good service! I spilled motor oil in the back of my van. They were up front with me about what it would take to clean the spill. They told me right away it might require replacing the foam pad. I believe they wanted it to come clean as much as myself. In the end, it came home really clean! I will go back. read more

paid $135 for a detail and carpet cleaning , carpets still smelled like they had never been cleaned - and still stained....only one of the detachable rugs in the back that was visibly clean.. carpets underneath were all dirty and still smell! also they ran my car down to less than 1/4 tank of gas using my cars heaters to dry what little they did wash...and got my drivers seat stuck w/a dime in the track while they were doing this. only thing that gets them a 2nd star here is that they re-shampooed my carpets after I called to complain about the terrible job done on the carpets. They still arent great but at least they made an attempt to fix their mistake. read more

I had the headlights on my truck switched to HID a few years back and my husband noticed that the driver side one was about to go out and low and behold it started flickering and not wanting to come on and poof, it was out. I called the company that switched them our for me and boy was that a hassle (Line-X) they didn't call me back for a couple days and then basically told me that they don't do this type of work anymore! Thank goodness I didn't purchase the 5 year warranty! I was referred to VanCour's by a co-worker, so I called and spoke with Jeremy and made an appt. I was out of there in less time they advised, they switched out the bulb in the other headlight to match, no cost and it was the price he stated over the phone, HOORAY! Unfortunately a few days later the headlight didn't want to come on again so I called and brought it over and it was a quick fix, no charge, just the drive out to Meridian as their Fife location which is closer does not do this type of work, only detailing. I was interested in changing my door handles as when we purchased the truck, it had after market ones that continued to be an issue. Jeremy helped find some at a great deal, they fixed them all up for me at a great price too! Sorry to say but I did have to bring the truck back as one of the door handles stuck and I couldn't open the door, they did fix it but again I had to make the trek back out to Puyallup. Overall they did all they said they could and would, it was just bit of an inconvenience to have to go back both times since they are out the way. read more

These guys are the best! My 1968 Newell had all work done by them! The bumpers were removed and powder coated and reinstalled.. The solo driving system was installed with backup and side view cameras. My uncle Jon was going to be the recipient of the Newell but unfortunately he was committed and died in his sleep in Bremerton Wa. So I planned to drive my Newell away and park it on McChord Air Force Base. But on January 27, 2018 my Mother passed away from Alzheimer's but my Step-Father found my Washington Title for the Antique Tags and mailed it to me. Larry has called me every year, I have called and paid him everytime. Even when his mechanic stopped taking care of my Newell he's been very patient with me. Even though the gentleman that balanced and blueprinted the HD396 engine years ago is 10 miles away, my Newell sits in Van Cour's fenced area and they have never charged me for storagel. I am a forty-year Federal Service Veteran and Larry and his crew have always respected me and thanked me for my 26 years in the US Navy by taking care of my (1 of 10 made in 1968) Motorcoach. I was hoping that they would give me a bid for all new tires and swap it over to a diesel engine but they are too busy to entertain such a major undertaking. They have vacuumed and taken care of my 30" Class A Newell for over five years! They tinted the windows on my 2012 Jetta TDI and I cannot wait to let them tint the windows on my 2016 328d xdrive BMW sportwagen. My wife wants to thank him for not bugging me to drive it away since I did not marry her to leave her in Delaware! We got married on November 23, 2012 after I traded my Jetta TDI for a Golf TDI! had some swirls in my paint asked them to buff it out. They said they could and charged me an extra $65 on top of the 130 for waxing the rest of the car. All they did was wax the car with a polish that covers minor scratches and swirls. It looked good when I picked it up but when I washed the car it all came back... wasted $200... they didn't buff anything... read more
