After posting my 2019 Buick Enclave Avenir on Facebook Marketplace, Offer Up, and Car Gurus I got a call from Henry of Auto Pro Buys. He indicated he thought he could get me what I wanted for my vehicle but after checking with outside APB's dealer potential buyers the price those dealers wanted to pay came in under what I wanted. I knew what the car was worth retail and wholesale, so I picked a $ number I could live with, which was higher than what APB offered. They agreed to my revised $ number but indicated they needed me to do them a favor and drive the vehicle to their Salem, OR location. Before driving to Salem, I sent a bunch of very detailed pictures of my vehicle inside and out in order to get their commitment before driving to Salem. I didn't want any monkey business or run around once I got to Salem. Once in Salem they visually inspected my vehicle and handed me a check for what we agreed to on price and they did all the paperwork. Koren Owen, the owner's son, told me I was one of the most honest people he'd dealt with representing my vehicle's condition. Quick and easy! I was skeptical when they arrived and started scanning and photographing my truck but they explained what they were doing (making sure the truck was indeed not in an accident or that I had tried to make any repairs / paint jobs myself). Company called after I put up an ad on Craigslist for my vehicle. I asked if they would be going off of KBB to make an offer and I was told yes, but was not told what that offer would be. I drove down there in the vehicle and they initially only wanted to offer 2/3 of what KBB indicated the car was worth, then they stated that the window regulator didn't work right, that the vehicle looked better in the pictures and so they were only going to offer 500 versus the 1833 it was worth. Aside from the 25 dollar gift card, it was a complete waste of time. Don't bother going to them unless your desperate for cash. read more

Not sure who is leaving these 5 star reviews, but they're either not real or getting stroked by this company. I got a call from one of their employees. He did not disclose he was a dealer for about the first five minutes of the call. Once he did, he all but guaranteed me my price was fair and "We're going to be able to make an offer really close." My truck was already priced $2,500 under KBB private party value and only $700 over trade-in value. The guy came to see the truck the next day and, again, claimed it should be no problem to get the money I was asking because I was already asking under book. Over an hour later he text me with an offer $4,500 UNDER my asking price (or $3,800 UNDER trade-in value). This guy claimed they always fall between trade-in and private party values. They are liars and wasted my time. Do not trust anything they say. BEAR IN MIND, my truck was nearly brand new, with 7k miles. There is no damage or any other issue they brought to light. He provided no reason they low balled me so much. They're just greedy liars trying to take advantage of people. read more

I went online to check a fair price and submitted some info for a cash offer through kbb. Hudson called me the next morning. I was still pretty Leary that a company offering to purchase it outright wouldn't jerk me around even more on a fair price, but after the low ball offer the dealership gave me I figured I had nothing to lose. I went in and worked with Hudson and Sean, and We made a fair deal within an hr(almost 2k more than the dealerships offered me). Offered my car for sale via the Internet at 445pm on a Friday. At 450 pm, the guys at AutoPro called me and asked me to bring my car in for an inspection. When I arrived there at 535 pm, the guys were so nice and helpful. They looked over my car, said they would buy it for what I wanted for it, which was a little below KBB and NADA trade in price, and by 630 pm I was home and my car was sold to AutoPro. I started my transaction of selling Jeep Wrangler privately via FB Marketplace and Autotrader. Had very little success during pandemic. First off, whomever wrote those two 5-star reviews probably works there. Here was my experience with Auto Pro Buys: I moved to Manhattan in December 15' and left my car in Portland. I did this because I didn't have time to sell it before I moved. I put it on Craigslist to see what the interest was. I decided that I could fly out if it was worth it. I got a ton of responses with it listed at $5,500(along with pictures and full detail of the fuel sensor that needed to be replaced). Shortly thereafter I was contacted by Auto Pro Buys. After some email correspondence I called them to tell them my exact situation. I informed them that I needed a ballpark figure(not exact mind you) because I would only have limited time there and we had to at least be on a 'similar' page about what their offer price would be. This looked like it would be a good situation as I didn't have time to mess around with fickle private buyers. I told them that I didn't mind if they weren't willing to offer me enough as I would just go with a private buyer. I told them that my time was valuable to me. And that the only thing I WOULD mind is if I showed up and they made me a well below market value offer. The guy on the phone told me the blue book value was $4700 and the private sale value was $6200(which was accurate as I had already researched it) and they always come in somewhere between the two. I asked him to make SURE that was the case, and he assured me it was. Based on this, I booked my flight and brought my Pathfinder in. After talking with one guy(who acted like he was my best friend) for 15 minutes while they looked at the car, they brought me outside. They proceeded to tell me that although it was a $5,000 car it had things that needed to be done on it(the only thing it needed was a fuel sensor which I had not only previously informed them of, but also had priced out at 600 including labor). They then told me they would take pictures and send them to their "mechanic" to see what price they could give me. They sat down and told me that they pulled the carfax report and that it had been in an accident before I owned it which would detract from its value. I knew this was false as I had the carfax report done twice(once before I bought it and once before I brought it in). They then offered me $1,500 for a $5,000-6,500 car!!!!! I told them about the guy who gave me the estimate and they said he was "new" and they had to talk to him about that. I told them I was disgusted and very mad. I left and 10 minutes later they called me and said they were sorry and they would give me $2,200 for the car. That they wouldn't make their commission on it but they wanted me to be happy. I told them I wouldn't take their money and that $2,200 was still an insultingly low offer. I brought the car to Nissan the next day and they offered me )$4,100 for it. I had to leave the following day so I left it at my friends place. I am finally flying back out next week to finish the process. I have never been so mad and disgusted at the same time in my entire life. These guys are awful. Every sleazy used car salesman cliche you could think of is sitting right there in that office. I recently filed a complaint with the BBB. If you look at my other reviews I don't go around just blasting businesses. These guys deserve every bit of this review and deserve NONE of your business. read more

I was contacted by Auto Pro Buys when I listed my Tacoma truck on craigslist for sale. The nice lady on the phone told me my price was "spot-on" and they wanted to purchase the vehicle. The catch was they wanted me to bring the vehicle to their location which seems pretty fishy but I was assured I would get a $25 cash card for my time so I went in with my wife. We had to drive out to Clackamas and wait about 45 minutes while someone inspected our truck. After the inspection we were given an offer that was $1000 less than the "Spot-on" price listed on craigslist and told our vehicle was "fair" KBB condition to justify this price. Our vehicle is like-new and easily ranks as at least "good" if not excellent condition. I found it very unfortunate to be given a very different price after discussing and providing all the details earlier in the day. We were given the $25 gift card for our time. It was okay at first. When we did the paperwork, the lady who l had been dealing with asked us to sign a disclosure form which said something like tittle clean, no damage, no modify and so on and we will be responsible for it if it is. We declined signing it because it was in least favor to us as of sellers. If they do something with the car after they buy it, and come back and say it was damage before we sold it we would not have a way to prove it did not. The car has only 7k mileages, and tittle clean, clean car fax, never in accident, and they came to look, not like we sold it over internet. They were welcome to bring their own mechanic. Be Careful with what you are signing because they have a lawyer who creates some kinds of document that are always in favor of them. The lady started to tell us how other dealers would make us sign something similar to their disclosure form, and kept saying we keep this in mind. I tried to tell her that we want to protect us as sellers, but she kept talking and told us to let her talk without bother to hear what I wanted to say. Really annoying. We said they could take their money back because we would not sign it, and we have other buyers who interested. The lady talked back saying they have other cars to buy not only my car (in aggressive tone). She then made a call and let us talk to her manager, who at the end was okay for us not to sign the form. However, the lady kept telling us how we should sign that form blah blah, and kept what she said in mind blah blah. We don't need her to give us a lesson. We know what to do to protect us as sellers. Our car was sold at least 2k below the market price so no surprise how quick they called after I posted it (15 minutes). read more

I posted my wife's 2007 Honda CR-V about a month ago on Craigslist. They were the first call I received and based on a short professional conversation they made a reasonable offer which we accepted. They were very eager to close the deal the same day which seemed a little strange. We requested either cash or a cashiers check which they were unable to accommodate. We agreed to meet the following Monday at their bank which was close to our home. We were able to cash their business check and then we completed the bill of sale ppwk. The ppwk process was very easy and well organized. While the back and forth and multiple calls about the cashiers check was a bit annoying, overall we were happy with the customer service and the price we received for our vehicle. I would never bring my car in here and do not appreciate being conned for more information than I am willing to give to someone like Sheri. Beware if you get calls from them! I recently sold my 4Runner to AutoPro buys and it was a very convenient and seamless transaction. I received a call from Jared with Auto Pro about 1 hr after listing my vehicle on Craigslist and within a few more hours in that same day, my 4Runner was sold and I had a check in my hand for somewhere between trade in KBB and retail sale KBB. I could have potentially gotten a few hundred more $$s for it if I kept it in CL for a month and wasted a ton more time meeting people and dealing with typical CL flakes, but to be done with it in 4 hrs after listing it, def well with it! And they even gave me a ride home after dropping the vehicle off so that I didn't have to inconvenience anyone to pick me up that day. Received a phone call 9/13/17 from Auto Pro concerning our 2002 F-350 Super Duty Pickup listed on Craigslist, very low miles, good shape listed for $11,200. I was told that it was an excellent price for a Dually. Salesman asked for VIN# said he would be out the next day with a certified check and his manager would be calling to finalize the deal. Next day, no word, we re-arranged our work schedule to be available with the pickup. We called at noon to confirm details, the salesman was on his way to Seattle to pick up a vehicle, another salesman took our information and said he would call back, which he did immediately. Apparently, our vehicle had been government owned previously and did not qualify for purchase. HOW RUDE!!!!! We should have received a phone call stating the facts, so we were not wasting our time and money!!! I would never recommend this service. Total SCAM. read more

When I called the Happy Valley location, the manager told me they take pride in offering more than their competitor Carmax - sometimes by as much as 10% more. I made an appointment to have them inspect my vehicle in person and give an appraisal. I was called back by the same manager and he told me it didn't matter if I brought it in or not, their best offer was still $1,000 LOWER than Carmax. Sounds to me like the old bait and switch tactics used to get you over there. The difference being I went to Carmax FIRST to get a competitive offer. Given the Carmax offer was commensurate with good dealer trade in, I suspect Auto Buy Pros are just looking to low ball people. My only benefit was I found out before I got there, instead of after. read more

Can't say enough good things about this place - after a month of trying to sell my car private party/taking it to dealerships to be offered insulting prices I was contacted by Auto Pro Buys. I wasn't confident they would be able to give me what I wanted but they offered me a $50 Visa gift card to make the drive so I decided to give them a chance. I took my car in and within an hour had an offer for exactly what I was looking for! I couldn't believe it, after going to dozens of dealerships, they made the entire process so easy and even brought the paperwork to the cosigners work so he could sign without any effort. They drove us 45 minutes home AND gave me the Visa gift card I was promised. As John was driving us home we were talking about what car I was going to get next and he told me if I find one I like I can call them with the VIN and they will get me a free CarFax so I can be sure of what I'm getting into. Posted an add on Craigslist immediately got a call from them. All i can think was no thanks im not interested in another company trying to sell me something but decided to give it a shot and take time out my Labor Day to see what i could get out of my used car. I was promised that i would be there for 20 min, they would inspect my car and i would be out of there. Thats where it went wrong. I showed up started paperwork then another customer showed up they immediately addressed that customer inspected their car first, started and finished their negotiations, meanwhile 50 min later im still sitting there. Car never inspected while they are cutting a check for the customer that showed up 5 min after me. An hour later they finally took my car on a test drive and said they would have to call around to get offers. I been there an hour on a holiday so i got restless and left. I understand i was selling a $3000 car and they were selling a $10,000 car but that doesnt negate the fact that i was promised 20min and was not helped in the first come first served order that they promised. So i left without an offer just a promised call back which i never received either. I wouldnt have cared if they offered me $5 for my car, its the principle that their customer service was horrible. I received a call from an individual at Auto Pro Buys after listing my car for sale on Craigslist. The rep and I discussed a price over the telephone which was right at KBB value which was the amount I had in my mind that I wanted for my car, Annie, which is in very good condition. My boyfriend joined me on the adventure. I called to let them know that I was running about 45 minutes late beyond our planned meeting time and it seemed that they stayed open just for me, which was very kind. They made us feel at home and they were very welcoming and friendly. One rep looked at my car and then the other took it for a quick test drive. They then pulled Annie in the back and inspected her carefully under the bright inspection lights! I provided them with the title, I signed a few standard documents and they provided a Bank of America check to me with a special silver shiny square to confirm its authenticity. We left, I deposited the check on my iPad that night and that was it. As easy as that! One of the employees even gave us a ride home since she was headed in the same direction. This team specializes in buying cars and they know their business, they have buyers and I would recommend them to anyone I know who would like to sell their car. read more
