I went to this car lot thinking I was going to buy an SUV in good working order..this was not the case .Dave the owner took money from my mom, and a trade in from me......After purchasing this SUV..the bearings went out and they chg. me for the parts and labor..I was told there was a new battery, and that was not the truth..the back window fell down..the seatbelts were not fixed as promised, and the left seat does not sit up...now the radiator is leaking and needs to be replaced..,.The moral of this story is that I learned this place is a rigged car dealer lot, and is not worth spending your money at....If you are seeking to get a hunk of junk and have many repairs after you buy from Auto junk....then it makes NO Sense....I feel for all these other people with one star yelps from this place...they should be ashamed of themselves... read more

Had been to a couple car lots before hitting this and glad I did, I picked up a 2006 ford 150 v8 5.4 liter lariat with 69*** miles on it for less than 15,000on and in great condition considering the age. I've read someof the bad reviews and experience none of these problems. I've only had the truck three weeks but am very happy with what I bought, friends and family have giving me nothing but complements. When we test drove the SUV we purchased, everything worked, but the SRS light did come on. They told us they would fix that. The next day, the GPS stopped working, the four-wheel drive stopped working, the check engine light would come on and off, and the lights don't always work. We took it back in, they said we bought it "as is". They did air-spray one of the seatbelt connectors and the SRS light went out for about an hour but came back on. They had said they would replace the GPS screen then backed out of that. They knew this was a purchase so our daughter could commute 45 miles one way to school 4 days a week. She can't drive it "as is". This is a low quality car lot. I would never never recommend them!! read more

This place acts all nice. But after you buy the car from them they don't care. Once they receive your money they treat you like dirt. We bought a suv from them and it had something missing and the owner David Tyner promised to replace it. We trusted him. Mistake. That was in December. It is now June. We have made several attempts to contact him,leaving messages calling back, leaving messages calling back with never a call back. Today I called and attempted to speak with the owner. I was told he was on a business call and to hold. I explained that I needed to speak with him now and that I did not want to hold. Didn't matter I was put on hold for over 13 minutes. During the time I was on hold I spoke with an employee who yelled and cursed at me. I will admit I was very upset and did not speak to him nicely but I am the customer and should be treated better. When the boss (David Tyner) finally came to the phone he raised his voice at me,lied to me saying he already sent the part and called me a liar. Then he asked to speak to my husband. I told him he could talk to me. He refused and told me if I didn't hand over the phone to my husband he'd hang up. When my husband spoke to him he tried to say that the head rest had already been delivered by someone who works for him. When he was told no they had not been delivered, he then said that he had mailed them to us. We again stated the fact we have not received them. He kept repeating himself over and over again that he had sent them and maybe they went to the wrong address. He said he would check his shop for them and call us tomorrow. I won't be holding my breath. He is a stereotypical used car salesman that will tell you what you want to hear to get The sale. I would tell you to get it in writing, but instead I will tell you to simply avoid his dealership like the plague. Unless you like dealing with rude liars! read more

I bought an SUV from this business in July of 2009. In October of 2010 I found out that they had never paid for the GAP insurance that I had purchased for $795. I called them 4 times between October of 2010 and December of 2011 and each time they said they didn't know what happened, but they would call me back. They never did, so yesterday I drove all the way from Rio Linda to Orangevale to talk to them face to face. The owner basically tried to tell me that he would give me $126 to settle the matter, which means he still pockets the difference of $795 and $126 extra for nothing. I said no thank you and drove straight over to DMV Investigations on the Army Depot. I filed a complaint against the business. Not sure how it will come out, but at least I wanted everyone to know about this business and about DMV Investigations. Autosensenow also sold me the vehicle with less than 30% tire wear left on the tires, which I have since learned is against the law. I'm not sure if I can go back on that one too, but believe me I'm going to try. read more

Now the staff is super friendly and easy to work with and will help you out to get the car off their lot, BUT I am definitely not satisfied with the quality of the car I bought. Now I know there is a gamble when you buy a used vehicle with high miles...but a few brands you can exclude from that, and thats Toyota's and Honda's....I bought a 4 Runner I wanted...test drove it....did some research on it and decided to go for it...not 2 weeks later of owning it I've had a squealing noise coming from the engine compartment...called and asked about it and they stated that if i brought it in, all i would have to do is buy the part and they would put it on at no cost...well ended up paying for it...a day later it continues to squeal, imagine my agony at this point....the tranny starts making some funny jolt, the front end starts to vibrate and my window seal flies off....at this point, I'm pissed....my car is falling apart on me and there is nothing I can do about it cause i signed the dotted line....wishing I would of never bought it in the first place. read more

I would like to say that my experience with Autosense was very pleasant; that I had no problems at all, and with the buying experience I can say that is true. But after two weeks and almost 12 hours of work done on the vehicle, I can't say that the rest has gone that smoothly. When I went in to Autosense I had my eye on a shiny red 4Runner. It had lower miles than my previous truck, and the one thing I needed, a back seat! I test drove it (for the 10 minutes they alloted) and everything seemed well. My fiancé and father (both mechanics in different specialties with years of experience) both accompanied me and my fiancé gave it a look over. Kyle helped us and was extremely helpful and was awesome at NOT "hovering" which I hate, so that was good. At the lot everything seemed fine and the truck ran well. It was more expensive than I would have liked for a 2002 that needs tires, like now, and the clock doesn't work, but it has generally low miles for a Toyota and kyle helped me get it financed. ALL was well and I really wanted to love my new truck and enjoy this experience, however, after a 30 minute drive home and an overnight sit in the driveway I had oil leaking from the axle seals on both sides of the truck. In my opinion, this is something that was previously leaking and was cleaned off to look fine. Two weeks later I am driving to work and my check engine light comes on. Now, I work with children and cannot risk having car trouble with them in the vehicle, let alone on an 100 degree day. I will be having it looked at to get the codes read and figure out what the problem is, but after buying a car I don't exactly have spare change for all these repair. Now I know buying any used car is a gamble, but I would love to hope that they wouldn't have hidden these damages from me, knowing I drive small children, but that's how it's starting to look. Like I said, I REALLY wanted( and still want) to love this experience and my new truck, but frustration and confusion are clouding that a bit. If you choose Autosense for your used car needs, please make sure to ask tons of questions, look over any maintainence done, and take a longer test drive. From my experience, this would have helped with my decision and saved me a ton of stress and money. read more

My son was looking for a used Subaru Legacy. After days of searching, we found one that appeared to be in good shape on the Auto Sense website. We went by to have a look, and it was exactly what he was looking for. I found a sales person, and he took us in to speak with Dave, the owner. He was very honest about the car and the price. After some negotiating, we arrived at a deal that both sides were happy with. We purchased the car, and headed home (roughly 15 miles away). On the way home, we realized that one of the employees had left his coat in the car. My son dropped me off at home, and then headed back to Auto Sense to deliver the coat. About 20 minutes later, my son calls to tell me that something happened to the car, and it was making a loud knocking sound. We took the car back to Auto Sense. Dave did not even hesitate, gave us a loaner vehicle, and promised he would take care of it. Take care of it he did! It turned out that the motor had spun a rod bearing, and needed to be replaced. Dave found a used engine, with less miles on it, and had it installed and the car back in our hands in less than 1 week. I have purchased many used cars in my years, never once have I had such an awesome experience with a used car dealer. I was certain that we were 'screwed' and would be paying for a new engine for the car. Not the case at all. What a mistake, we ended up back @ auto sense, & was glad we did. We ended up with the suv we wanted, & there were several cosmetic things wrong with it, Dave & his crew fixed every single problem & gave us a loaner car off the lot while the work was being done. additional information about this place. People need to be aware of what they're doing to customers. I bought a truck with a premium warranty. The next day it was in the shop for a few things. The warranty company said because it wasn't even 24 hrs after we bought it, they put the repairs back on auto sense. So we were weary to take it back to auto sense and for good reason. Turns out they incorrectly installed the brake caliper. Didn't fix what they should have and now we have another open claim with warranty.. Buyers beware. It sucks buying a "premium" vehicle and we haven't even had it 3 weeks now and majority of the time it's been in the shop. So happy we have the worlds most honest mechanic that found their errors after auto sense claimed they fixed the problems. Do not buy a car from here unless you want problems.when we got our truck back from auto sense after they "repaired" it, our tail lights were missing a chunk out of it and scratched to hell. If only I had taken pictures of the truck before we handed them the keys. This place is awful. When my husband went to pick up the truck from these people, turns out they had it at the shop across the street from them called complete automotive care and repair. These are the mechanics that we've seen working on auto sense car lot and that shop. Our mechanic has to fix their work. Go figure. What a nightmare this has been. Was looking for a Dodge 2WD diesel. Found one at Auto Sense and did most of the deal on the phone (we live 500 plus miles away in another state). We drove down, got there on a Sunday and checked out the truck while they checked over our trade-in. The staff was friendly and helpful. They gave us what they had said they would over the phone on the trade. My wife didn't think it was enough but I thought it was reasonable. We did discover on the way home that the oil hadn't been changed for a while and the fuel filter hadn't been changed for a lot longer while. Still, we were satisfied. We've had the truck for a year and put about 7,000 mile on it with no problems. read more

I just bought a truck that seemed to be fine I did test drive it but didnt take it on the freeway. They offered a return after 48 hours,but that would cost $150.00 up front and an additional $250.00 restock fee, which I didnt do. On my way home, the truck vibrated bad at about 60 - 70 mph, knowing that I had just been screwed and have no recourse, I took Monday off work to take it to a tire place to ballance the tires , They did that twice and tried for two days to figure out what was causing the vibration. On the third day & over $500 later I decided to take it to a driveline shop, where Im waiting to see if they can fix it ! we bought a truck from david last year and had the brakes fail on us as we drove off the lot. it turned out that the particular model had a known issue with the ABS- which was partially recalled, but only in the eastern states. anyway, david worked with us until they got it fixed and really went above and beyond what he was required to do. he even gave us a loaner a few times while our truck was being worked on. he really cares about his customers. even though we got stuck with a truck that should have been recalled by the manufacturer, we are happy that we chose to buy from him and are grateful for his help. read more
