If I could give no stars I would! Repeadedly told Pedro, the sales guy the TPS light was on and needed to be checked. He continually told me he would have it taken care of and didn't. When I texted the next day that the AC was not working he said to bring it back. I said I couldn't until Monday. He said Monday would be fine and ghosted me when trying to confirm a time! I emailed from the website for support and did not receive a call back!!!! Pedro thought it was funny to share this joke-"you know how to tell if a salesman is lying? His lips are moving." Lol he is smooth and personable and then disappears! Perhaps there's a reason his wife left him a note and was gone...? I do not recommend this place and now I have about $3k in work for the AC and TPS to be fixed. I'm so disappointed in people and this place sucks!:( read more

bought a nice Toyota Tacoma 4x4 sport on October 2nd 2025 from Pedro the salesman. Very happy with my truck, the service however is absolutely horrible. After dropping a $200 deposit to hold the truck was on my way to test drive it and Pedro didnt answer my calls for a while (I live two hours away from rancho cordova) after I was over halfway there he answered...anyway the truck checked out. It exceeeded my expectations. So I'm signing paperwork to purchase the truck. I have some of my down payment cash and some on my debit. Pedro says I can pay whatever and get the rest to him in a few weeks (sounds good right?) I also purchased the extended warranty. Anyway Pesro cant tell me much about the truck except for the carfax report. Theres was a lower front bumper lip and license plate in the truck bed, he said the lip didnt belong to the truck and tossed it to the side. I found out the lip does belong to my truck. I told Pedro I can stop by and pick it up since ill be up that way. He told me they are open 7 days a week til 7pm, I show up on a saturday I believe. Nobody at Goldent State Auto (even though I called multiple times and pedro assured me somebody will be there) then Pedro apologizes and he will make it up to me with a tank of gas and gift cards said he will mail it. He STILL TO THIS DAY has not said anything to me about the lip when I can pick it up or when he will mail it, he also has not said another word about gift cards or the tank of gas he promised me for all the wasted time and trips. The I take it to get an oil change and dealership informs me it needs a new steering rack. No problem I have the extended warranty, I schedule the repair...dealership calls me and says the extended warranty will not cover my repair becuase the policy is not active. I call pedro. Nobody asnwers, ever. He said his boss will start the policy when they recieve the final payment. (Which was not part of the deal) he told me to pay $1,000 in a few weeks, if he would have told me this upon signing I would have just paid the whole down payment, I had the impression he was trying to help me out and save some Money for the time being. This is not his intentions. Keep in mind this is the first week I had the truck. I took it to the car wash and the pressure washer blew a cover upn clean off literally not even a week after I bought it. Then the check engine came on and I informed Pedro, once again he didnt reply and still hasn't replied regarding the check engine light. Only time Pedro tried to get ahold of me was to collect the final payment and he straight blew up my phone non stop while at was at work then told me he was "conerned for my well bing and thought something might have happened to me" when all he wanted was money then proceeded to tell me "to do the right thing" and then threaten to "make the final payment or his boss will send me to collections" keep in my mind I never met or talked to his boss, not even when I called the dealership multiple times, multuple days, ever not once. But Pedro thinks when he mentions his boss im supposed to care. I believe Pedro thinks he is helping me by selling me this truck when infact the truck sold itself. Pedro was not a help at all. Infact, its but nothing but non stop incoveniences. Now I will say they do have some nice vehicles. They know what sales. But keep in mind they are "USED CAR SALESMAN" they are not completely honest or straight forward about anything and they do lie. The thing is they had the exact truck I had been looking for with low miles so I was sold, it wasnt pedro the persuaded me to make the purchase, im confident I know more about vehicles than Pedro. I do not recommend this dealership unless you absolutely have to have a vehicle you see. Everytime I text this guy no reply or when I call no answer. Trash customer service. Be cautious with this place. read more

My boyfriend purchased my vehicle from golden state auto and later discovered major issues with how the loan and paperwork were handled. The dealership arranged financing through Lobel Financial, and I was not fully informed about the loan structure or the true costs. The car's value was around $14,500, but the loan amount was shown as $27,579, which I only realized after the repossession. I was never given a full explanation of how that amount was calculated, and both the dealership and the lender have been unresponsive when I requested clarification. I would caution anyone financing through this dealership to carefully review your contract and confirm the total loan amount, interest rate, and fees before signing. This place is a joke, I purchased a vehicle here and they "didn't" include or add the return policy on the paperwork, after 2 days I realized there were some major problems. And they wouldn't let me return or exchange it in. They promised to fix what was wrong but only turned off the check engine light. I paid cash for a Mercedes at this dealership and my experience was far from desirable. Pedro told me all it needed was a new set of tires. The morning after I took it home, the car was slammed into the ground. I expected about as much, as air ride suspension tends to wear after so many years, but the fact that it had been at his dealership for some time meant that he knew this was an issue, and he chose to omit that information when he told me that all it needed was a set of new tires. As I waited for the car to raise itself, I did a quick walk around to see if any damage had been done to the fenders. That's when I noticed the dealership never put temporary plates on the car (which is the law). I called Pedro. "I'll have my assistant mail them right away," he lied. Days went by. I got pulled over twice for the missing plates. I called Pedro. "My assistant should have sent those out already. I'll check back with you soon." Pedro never called me back. Weeks went by. Pedro kept blowing me off. I bought a set of tires. I got the suspension fixed. I got the oil changed. I got the windows tinted. And I *still* didn't get my plates. Every time I called Pedro, he said whatever he could to get me off the phone. I paid cash for the Mercedes, and didn't so much as haggle with him over the price. The entire transaction took about 30 minutes, and he was so quick to take my money that he forgot to even issue temporary plates for the car I bought from him, just like he "forgot" to tell me about the car's leaking suspension after he said all the car needed was a set of new tires. I purchased the car in April. I never got the temporary plates. The DMV delivered my permanent plates today, but Pedro didn't even have them sent to the right address, even after he text messaged me and asked me what address to send the plates to! If it were up to Pedro, I probably still wouldn't have plates for the car. This is more than an issue regarding a lack of communication. This is a textbook example of dishonesty, *and* a lack of communication. P. S. Pedro seems like a decent guy, just not a very honest one. (He even lied about the day he mailed the tags. Said he sent them on the 3rd and FedEx didn't pick them up until the 9th.) read more

I came in and there were two guys working. One in the front office and the other next to him. The one in the front office had customers while the other had none. I asked if the other could help me and he said I had to wait for the guy in the front office. The guy in the front office sarcastically said he needed 12 more minutes with the current customer. I waited and then after 15 minutes, I left! If you running a business on a weekend, you should consider staffing up if the lazy guy in the other office, can't be bothered to multi-task to help other customers that walk-in. You just lost a potential client that was planning to pay cash if all checked out with the vehicle of interest. But unfortunately, time is of the essence and needed to be back in the Bay Area. Got a car from them a couple years ago, was a little to anxious to get the car I wanted so didn't see a lot of early signs and didn't get the car fixed immediately like I should have done, fast forward two years I take the car to the shop for transmission issues the car has always had. They said the transmission needs replacement and the insurance that came with the car can only cover so much. So I talk to a person at the dealership to see if they can help me out since they sold me this car for $13,000. The guy Leroy tells me I have a $3000 trade in value and that he can get me in a used Tesla. I should have waited to call because I was pretty mad about that, I called a little angry because I had just been offered $3k for a car I bought of them for $13,000, and I'm sorry to the person I called angry to, but while I was explaining what had happened this person accused me of driving the car so aggressively I did that to the transmission myself. The reason I got a Hyundai Genesis was so I could cruise on the freeway which is what I use the car for. Accusing me of doing this to the car myself I just another thing this dealership does so they don't have to do anything to help you with the car THEY sold me. So needless to say, I'm now stuck with a car I'm still paying for and I have to pay for repairs that I'm pretty sure this dealership was aware of before I got the car. The carfax says they didn't perform any maintenance before they sold the car to me, I remember the car was actually quite dirty when I got it too. They just get cars and sell them without even cleaning them first that also tells you how little they care about getting you in something nice and clean especially for the money you're paying. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO BUY CARS THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY LIKE ALL THE OTHER GREEDY BUSINESSES OUT THERE NOW. read more

This business is owned by the WORST OWNER by far I have ever seen. My husband called beforehand to see a car. Brian answered the call and he was nice. When we arrived, we were greeted by a very friendly older gentleman, who was also very nice to my dog and baby. My husband took the car for a test drive with another employee, who he said was nice as well. However the cosmetics of the car was worse than what we saw in the pics, scratches and small dents all over the car and the interior was worn down as well. So my husband told Brian in a polite manner that he doesn't want to spend that much amount of money for the car. Another guy who was following my husband and Brian walked away all pissed off saying "You need to just buy a brand new car, that's what it is!" My husband or Brian didn't hear him say that talking to each other, but I did and the way he said was so passive aggressive. It upset me how he said what he said and I told my husband let's just go that we were just wasting our time (not knowing he was the owner at that time). Brian thought I was telling my husband that we need to just buy a brand new car. When I told Brian that it was another employee who said that, he was all surprised and asked me who it was. Then the guy walked back so I told Brian it was him. He prob didn't think he was gonna get called out for it and made a stupid excuse that he takes pride in his cars that we insulted him. I told him that's not the way you treat customers and I cannot believe he was the owner, then he again said we insulted his car. Meanwhile he could not even look at me or my husband in the eye, because he got called out. Brian was polite even after I was angry with this shit owner, probably feeling uncomfortable. I feel bad for the nice employees working for this owner...He treats customers with such bad manners and unprofessionalism, then I cannot even imagine how badly he treats his employees. I went to Golden state auto and bought a 2015 BMW 3 series . Within 3 days the vehicle was giving me problems and a message on the dash popped up saying drive train malfunction that would go on and off . I notified them and they had me drop my car off for over a week , no loaner vehicle was given . When they gave the car back I could tell they had done nothing to it . Two days later the same message popped up and I notified them again asking why it hadent been fixed , they simply said the message didn't pop up when they had it . But I had already explained it pope's up and goes away then comes back . I tried several times to get my car back in but they started to play the run around game , sending me to different employees who just sent me to a message machine , where no one ever returned my calls . After awhile I forgot about it even though the message kept popping up and everytime the message pope's up id have to cut the car off and restart it because I wouldennt have power when I push the peddle unless I restart the car . Several months later I contacted them again about the issue and they told me they couldn't help me because it had been several months since I bought the car lol . I told them how I notified them right away and how they kept not responding to my messages . They still refused to help me and the sales men I bought the car from started boeng very rude hanging the phone up in my face several times . The sales guy name was Leo I believe he is the sales manager now (Liberian guy) I tried to explain to him that I'm just trying to get some help and that I also had took photos that are time stamped from when I first had the problems because he was acting like I never tried to get help from the start and was just complaining about a issue way later . I told him if he wouldn't help me I would sue them and he told me to go ahead and sue them and he absolutely would not help me and he hung up in my face again . I spoke to the finance manager and several others But I couldn't get passed the Leo guy . So I sued it had almost been two years at that point since I first bought the car . I won my case they payed me $6000 in a settlement all they had to do was help me out I'm sure it would have costed them alot less , which is exactly what I told Leo I litteraly told him to let me speak to the owner because this was not Leo's business and I'm sure the owner doesn't want a lawsuit but Leo refused and just kept acting like he owned the place . My suggestion to all of you have been wronged by Leo and Goldenstate auto is to sue , I can definitely refer a good lawyer to you. Also contact better business bureo and consumer affairs as well as review them on as many review sights as you can . read more

I bought a 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500. I have so many issues with the truck. First the truck would want to turn off and then sometimes didn't start. I took it to my friend shop and took it back to golden state auto. They gave me a truck with live wires under the back seat. I was suppose to get a alarm key within two weeks after I bought the truck, I had to wait over a month. Then the truck fan wouldn't stop running. I bought the warranty, They denied my claim to fix it. I had to take it in twice to get it fix. I had to get a new battery due to what problems i dealt with. Now i need new shocks in the front. They are crap, the truck should not been sold to anyone. They also told me that the times are 75% good. What they should have told me you will need to replace the tires immediate. I hAve talked to many employees there. Seems like they get people to work, then they fire them or they move on. i have gotten told not to call or come in after i told them i want my money back from the warranty. I also made a huge down payment. you would think that when buying a used car you wont have to many problems. I will never go there again, I wish that i can trade in the truck and get something else, but i will owe to much on the loan. read more

This place could potentially rate 5 stars if they would just make a couple adjustments with their salesman. We went in there knowing exactly what we wanted and showed the salesman. He had the finance guy take us on a test drive. We loved the car and went in to write up paperwork. We were paying cash so no for financing needed to be worked out. We gave them 10K down and said we would pick the car up In The morning. The salesman came in and I mentioned the car had some coffee or coke brown splats on ceiling and inside upholstery. He assured us that the car would be clean and gassed up for us when we picked it up. We picked up the car the next morning and my husband went to drive away and noticed the car was dirty on the inside and empty. I went in and informed the owner it was empty and he said "well he washed it". I told him I would like it "gassed up" like I was promised. The owner told the salesman to follow us to the station. My husband was talking to me and the salesman finished putting gas in and pulled away without even saying a word. Low and behold, he put $30 in an suv. Thank you but that is not gassing up a car! He seemed annoyed to even have to do it. I hope he didn't get commission on the sale because, he did nothing! The finance guy did all the work from showing it to closing the sale. Another Kudo for the finance person is, when we informed him we were overcharged for DMV fees, he promptly sent us a check. I forgot his name but he is a plus to this business and the only reason for 4 stars. Even though it needed an oil change and front brakes, the Lexus 350 we purchased is a wonderful smooth riding used car. They do have some nice used cars. I had this one thoroughly checked by our mechanic and he said it is in great running condition. I am thankful for the latter as we don't usually buy used and I was nervous. I was looking to buy a used affordable car and I found them online. I called and spoke to Leroy and he was very helpful from start to finish of the process. He listened to my needs and I was able to drive off with a reliable used HONDA ACCORD. I told my mom about them, she went in and purchased a used Tesla with very low mileage. DO NOT PURCHASE CAR FROM HERE. (I work from home and don't drive often) I was sold a 2009 Toyota Camry XLE, was advised a 90 day warranty. Within 1 month my radiator was not working and car overheating, talked to Mike and he had me tow my car to L&A auto care. Had my car "repaired" was advised a hose was replaced. Within 3-4 weeks my car overheated again, went through the same steps and mechanic said it was the radiator cap. Within 2 weeks my car overheated AGAIN and now Mike is saying it's out of warranty although it's the same issue. Mike hung up on me and would not assist me. Unprofessional and sleazy af. read more
