Completely overcharged and lied about what they did to justify the price. Would not recommend them at all very shady.

Two years ago I thought I was working with a quality business....two years later I find myself…read morewherever did I get that idea. My name is John K and I brought in my 2014 Nissan Sentra to have the transmission replaced with a new one at the cost of $5326.25, a hefty sum. The car was WELL cared for and looked new and thought instead of buying something new, with the cost of cars, I would invest in the car. The car did have 200,000 miles but again after taking well care of the car decided this would be a better investment. Well, two years and 36k miles later the transmission went. Gone..Kaput...I called Doug and he said that it was out of warranty as he warrants for only 1 year on both labor and transmission. Honestly, I didn't think I would have a problem but I signed the invoice and now looking back and reading it, the invoice was just Word Salad to be blunt. Again, I take responsibility...but Doug wouldn't even look at the car and one would think that the transmission would have lasted a little more than 36k...a lot more....I then called Nissan Customer Care and they advised that they would replace the transmission but because I didn't use a Nissan Dealer, that I would have to pay the labor. I called Doug and asked if he would do that and I would pay him for the labor. He said Absolutely NOT. He was not willing to work with me at all. I called Nissan back and they would honor the initial offer at any Nissan Dealership and so I brought it to Nissan of Old Saybrook. They couldn't have been nicer...really they were awesome. They looked at the car and found a problem....Doug did not use Nissan Parts nor does his invoice indicate any part numbers or replacement parts. Nissan would now NOT cover the replacement as Nissan Parts were not used. This place is awful. It is partly my fault, but in my defense I thought one and done and didn't particularly know what the invoice said. The quality of the customer service is a negative 10. While I maintain my cars, I do not pretend to know any repair knowledge. Now I am driving my 1994 Toyota Camry and will buy a new Toyota soon. In the meantime I am going to end up replacing the transmission yet again as a gift to my niece. It will NOT be going to Smith Bros. 36k miles? Really Doug? Not willing to work with Nissan, really?. Extremely poor customer service and standards. Go to Old Saybrook Nissan...they will treat you right....and they are not paying me to say that, it's a fact. I will be posting this review on other platforms as well.
