I took my '87 Porsche 994S to ASP to swap out the factory cassette player for a more modern deck (CD + iPod) and went back the next week to have a keyless entry/alarm installed. Jason were very knowledgeable about the stereo install, and had the JVC installed in less than an hour. The price was very fair and reasonable. The keyless remote/alarm install took a little bit longer, because the "unlock" function on the door was key&handle dependent. They took the extra time to bypass it so I can actually do lock & unlock with the remote. ASP were cool enough to do this for me with no extra cost. While waiting, I was talking to Drew about my other car's issue ('04 WRX). He was very friend and extremely knowledgeable with all type of cars. If you're in Daly City or in SF... this is a must first stop. They do great work (the stereo and the alarm were very clean installs) and very knowledgeable as well. This was actually my first encounter with ASP. I took my 98 dodge viper in because the factory speakers just didnt do it for me. As soon as i pulled my car in, they gave excellent service along with a list of option and their recommendations. It surprised me that they recommended a relatively "cheap" speaker option rather than charging me for something that was ridiculously over priced but had the same sound quality. I note it interesting that a shop in Hayward would not only disparage this Daly City competitor - from Fremont, but also advertise YELP on the index page of their website. *obivious attempt for business - all the way from the other side of the bay. Got some projector headlamps installed. They were Done early and I sure appreciate the connector waterproofing and use of split loom shielding. I find the install to be most professional. These guys were recommended to me by several friends. I've been to their shop before but wasn't impressed with interior or customer service, so I had my first sound system done elsewhere. When much later I personally saw 3 cars of my friends that they worked on I finally decided to give them a try too. I needed to install a built-in radar detector, woofer with amp and tint the windows. Called a few places about the radar and was getting higher rates and a lot of "disclosures" on what could cost me extra, since it was a used unit. I like to agree on the job beforehand and expect the place to deliver without worrying about any hidden fees. So I went with ASP. Well these guys did it very well. Complex job, since my radar was used and was missing a few minor parts for which they didn't even charge me. They installed it totally discreet and everything works like a clock. It was a full day job and they stayed after hours to finish it. I liked that. Being happy with such a nice job I placed an order for an aftermarket exhaust. It was supposed to arrive in 2 weeks but I found out later that the manufacturer actually ran out of this system and would build a new batch only in 2 months! That was a bummer but I decided to wait. Long story short it took about 4 months to get it finally in, since AWE and their regional dealer really dropped the ball on this one. I obviously was mad as hell, as knowing this in the first place I'd go with a different exhaust. No fault on ASP's side though. I had them work out a better deal on installation with me because of this and really liked the new sound and look of my car. To sum up my experience, they know how to do a complicated installation well and that's the main reason I went with them. They could have done a better job updating me during that 4 month wait, no doubt, but I was happy about the new deal and most of all cared about the car -- I don't want to be finding loose bolts and nuts down the road. I probably will do some small engine upgrades with them as well. Final advice, don't get anything from AWE Tuning unless it actually is in stock, don't believe their build estimates :) read more

Had a very good experience with ASP for the first time. I was recommended by a parts company to get some aftermarket parts installed on my car. I had been in contact with Bo recently and he was very helpful on setting everything up. I then was able to talk to Vlad(the owner) who was also very helpful. I drove 2 hours to get here, so my expectations were high coming in. Vlad opened the shop up early for me because I had a long list of stuff to get installed. As I arrived I was greeted by Trevor(mechanic) who was ready to go with the install. I had front/rear rotors/pads installed, supercharger pulley, tune, oil catch can, and spark plugs installed and these guys did a really good job and was very knowledgeable on everything. I was there for pretty much the whole day since my list was a all day thing, but all the guys treated me like one of the guys. I was able to spectate the installs and ask ?'s and they were more then willing to answer them. They do a wide range of stuff and know what they are doing. I wouldnt hesistate to check them out. When I came back for the install they realized that another part was worn out as well. They weren't sure if they had the part in stock so one of the employees with a similar model offered to take the part off his own car until my part came in. My experience here at ASP was ok but disappointing. Everyone seemed nice and helpful. When I went in to check my girlfriends G35, our chief complaint was about the front driver side wheel was making a patterned noise and vibration going past 60mph+. Took couple of the mechanics a test drive to figure out the noise. At first, we were thinking it was a bearing that needed to be replaced but he said everything was ok with it. Second mechanic suggested that the tire had a problem. Turns out that the tire was bad (thanks for that) and had the two front tires replaced, but that still didn't fix the noise coming from the front left wheel. When they replaced the tires, right after I left the shop, the alignment was off so it drifts to the right now and the steering wheel is off as well. When the steering wheel is placed in the center where it is straight, you are actually turning slightly left. I watched them put on the wheels with the new tires and it seemed like a simple job. So I am confused on how this is possible, maybe they gave me un-even tires or didn't put them on correctly, who really knows. Also, it was strange that they are clueless on what is causing that unusual vibration/noise. I am willing to pay for the repairs that are needed to fix it but after this experience I don't trust them at all. I also called them back and told my situation. They didn't believe what I am experiencing and mentioned that it shouldn't happen with just changing tires or that it needed an alignment before (which it didn't need one). Whatever they did, made the car drift to the right now with the tires they installed. I wouldn't go back here to even get this problem fixed. I wanted to warn future customers to think twice about having ASP work on your vehicle for whatever reason. read more

Get out fast!!!!Found this place on a Mercedes forum. Big mistake !. These guys are unprofessional and don't stand behind their work. Never were on time to my appointments ,had me always waiting and excuses. ( I drive a little over an hour )they don't know what they are doing and all they want is your money. Vlad was cool at first but once he took my money. Never showed the same professional service. My car ran like shit after he had Jerry (Eurocharge) tune it. Check engine light was always on. He tried to fix it 3times and failed. By the way he was late to all 3 app. Jerry was not as supportive either as they work hand in hand. What ever, lesson learn. Guess if you have a Honda they might be able to install an amp. But don't come here with your European cars or anything high end. They don't know what they are doing. I made an appointment on Tuesday with a Guy named Andrew, (who has very poor customer service skills), to bring my car for window tinting on Saturday. I had brought my previous car here before, they did a Mickey Mouse which they had to fix (all businesses offer life time warranty on window tinting). Six months later here i am again, because i believe in second chances. I am paying $275 plux taxes for this work, same as before. (They have all my info in their system since i am return customer)This time i am told by a guy named Stan that the guy who does window tinting had to go to a funeral and that they did not have my number to call me to let me know. Stupid excuse for people who are very unprofessional, they totally ruined my plans for the weekend. I would totally recommend that you go somewhere else, these people are very unprofessional. So I had my Speed6 at this shop so they could diagnose a check engine light and a p0117 code that pipes up after they installed my upgraded fuel pump internals, brakes rotors bearings and huns. At first they told me they would not be able to install my fuel pump internals thay day so I told them do it a diffenet day. I come back to get my car and I have to wait for them to install the part I clearly told them not to install that day. But anyway after having my car for months they told me it was a head gasket. I asked over and over again if it was a senator or something electrical and they told me no. I was shocked to hear this especially since I had spent so much money and time on my baby. And the fact that their were no signs of a head gasket issue. So I sold the car a parts car just to find from the guy who bought it from me that it was not a head gasket it was an ECT sensor. So basically I sold my car underpriced and didn't even make back the money I put into it all based on what they told me at this shop. Then when my grandmother calls to confirm the owner tells her that t was my fault and I abused the car and didn't take care of it. So instead of telling me they didnt know what was wrong with my car they lied told me it was a headgasket and I ended up selling the car and losing about $4000 and that's not including the $2000 of work they did on the car previously. A friend of mine referred me to this shop when i told him i needed some new tires. I came there and spoke to a sales person. He knew a lot about cars as he knew exactly what tire size were the right ones for my car. I placed an order for the tires and set up an appt to bring my car in that upcoming weekend. I get a phone call from the sales guy the next day telling me that the tires are in and if i wanted to i could come in and get them done that day and that he recommends that because he saw the condition of my tires and it was going to be raining the next day, NOW THATS WHAT YOU CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE! I needed to get a set of low profile tires replaced on my wheels. I had terrible experiences with shops in the the past that scratched the finish around the rim. A technician at ASP mounted and balanced all my tires very quickly and without any marks. I am beyond happy now that I finally know a place that can take care of my car maintenance needs in the future. The pricing was VERY reasonable considering these were 19" wheels with 35 sidewall.
