It will be worth your time to go out of your way to get to know them! This is a dealership you can definitely trust. All of their vehicles are 100% as advertised. I bought a 20 year old Jeep Liberty from Shawn...over the phone....sight unseen! It is immaculate! I live in Arizona...300 miles away. I found this vehicle through internet searches on Carfax. A perfect one owner vehicle....with Carfax to prove it. So, I made the phone call to check it out. After a short phone conversation about the vehicle, I asked for the 'out the door price'....expecting the normal $1000-$1500 in add-ons and fees and the back and to with the 'manager' for 8 hours. THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN! The advertised price WAS the PRICE! I didn't even make a counter offer!!!! What a great dealer to know! Where the price is the PRICE! Shawn even assisted in getting it shipped to my front door! The whole deal took 2 phone calls and 30 minutes! When you find a dealer like Auto Union and Shawn who is straight-up and don't.....agree on a price.... and then hijack you for phony title fees, tracking devices, paint protection........YOU DON"T HAVE TO NEGOTIATE.......it's already a GREAT DEAL. I work at the LAFD fire station up the street from the auto union dealership. I found an ad for their car online. When I checked the car, it was even better than expected. When I told him how much I wanted to pay out the door. They worked on it for a few minutes said no problem. They even helped me move the car down the street to the fire station. Shawn and Danny were the best. No pressure I got to fully check out the car inside and out long test drive. I've had it for about a week I absolutely love the car great gas mileage exactly what I needed and saved a ton of money. Do not let the location keep you from saving a bundle of money. This is a bad faith dealer, stay away. The guys talks well, but is a nasty lieing PoS sales guy. Purchased a 2016 GTI for 9,500. Check engine light came up 10 min after I signed the contract and picked up the vehicle. This company offerred no recourse. Stalled after about 50 miles of driving. Ended up spending $4000 to get it home, a week later mechanic found additional seals and leaks that had damaged the engine. Another 4K to replace cylinder heads. They had reset check engine light and masked several major problems by steam cleaning and covering it up and sold what is essentially a junk to me as a running and working vehicle. read more

I'm going to be 100% honest in my review. When you buy a used car -- especially a German car -- you should expect some expenses, and maintenance is not cheap on these vehicles. We bought a 10+ year old Audi from this place, and we did have to change the spark plugs a couple of months later, but the car has been running great. The support from Shawn throughout the registration and title process was unwavering. It took a few months to get the registration and title, which is expected when you buy a car that was previously registered in another state. So far, we've had a very good, respectful relationship as buyer and seller, and Auto Union has provided some of the best customer service we've experienced. read more

2ND UPDATE: I finally have my car in for repair and here's what the mechanic at Olive Auto Center in Burbank told me: the exhaust manifold/cat absolutely needs replacing, plus there are several other issues, but suffice it to say, fixing all of them would cost me OVER $6000. I am only getting the cat done at this time, which is over $3500 by itself, which I have no choice but to get done. I will work on the other issues as I am able to, but I gotta say that I didn't realize how screwed I got on this deal, and I will never buy another used car from a hole in the wall dealer, without getting it checked first. read more

DO NOT buy a car from this guy Shawn. He is a shady car salesmen!!! He talked up a good game and after we bought a used car from him, it started leaking oil and coolant 2 days later. I took it to my mechanic and he told me there were towels stuffed around the engine to absorb the leaks. He sent me pictures of the oily towels stashed underneath the engine. My mechanic told me in the 35 years of experience he has never seen anything like this!!! After I called Shawn to ask him about the leaks and the towels, he told me maybe it was MY mechanic who put them there. Can you believe the nerve of this asshole?! He also recommended me 'his cheap mechanic'. Shawn had also passed the smog ILLEGALLY on the car. When I took the car for a smog check it didn't pass. He probably ran a different car for the smog check. Shawn is a SHADY, LYING, SLEEZY car salesman. DO NOT by a car from him unless you want a piece of junk you have to spend hundreds of dollars to fix right after. I knew the issues it had because of what Shawn had disclosed and even tho there was another minor issue, Shawn took care of it and even helped me out with a rental. tl;dr I've had the car that I bought here for a while now, and I am very happy with it. Given my experience, I would recommend going here. The owner is a nice guy. He was very understanding about me first taking the car to a mechanic (which you should always do!) and there were no issues with the car. Also, the payment and registration all went smoothly. The only note I'll make is that he is a busy man (which is understandable) so take that into account. His timing is often not ideal and he will (again understandably) get a little annoyed if the process is taking long. read more

I attempted to contact the shop through Carfax and phone calls because I was interested in two vehicles I saw listed on CARFAX. The owner never got back to me. I finally called a third time and the owner answered and was immediately rude. I told him I was interested in viewing the cars and I was in the area if he was available and he began to scold me like a child and say he wasn't in the office, had no idea what cars I was talking about and that I should know his appointment only policy. Because apparently I'm supposed to be a mind reader because this dude can't be bothered to actually run his business professionally. He told me he wasn't in the office but he'd be there later. I waited until that time with my husband and baby in 100+ degree weather and he never came so we scoped out the lot the business was run out of. It's basically a chop shop. We decided to just leave and look at the yelp reviews and THANK GOD we did because we were ready to drop the cash that day. Shawn and "Auto Union" deserve a 0 star rating. Via txt before seeing the car, he didn't reply to my questions about the car until I asked 3x. Upon arriving - there is no signage to "auto union" at all ... it's Reseda hood trash to be honest. Oh - can't forget ... he didn't wear a mask the entire time we met at the lot... that's right - no mask during a pandemic therefore no concern about the safety of others. very "trump like" of him (ew.) Shawn wasn't able to answer my questions about the car... he literally knew nothing about it when I asked him basic questions like if the odometer had ever been replaced or rolled back (this was for a used car) and was on the phone the entire time taking another call. He wasn't attending to the customer (me) at all and didn't do a walk through or give me info about the car other than "you can look it up on carfax". When he told me that the price was firm and no room to bring it down if I paid in cash , I told him the price was still steep for me and I'd think about it. I asked to drive test the car.... he said no. that's right - he didn't like me test drive the car and proceeded to tell me he was busy (aren't we all?! lol) and that he had to go take care of the next customer. Oh - forgot to mention - his CL listing was incorrect. The car was listed in "excellent" condition with no exterior or interior damage... except there was and he failed to point that out or bring the price down for the deceptive listing and damage to the car. The car was listed 3k over market value, by the way, according to KBB , True Car and Edmonds. I read these yelp reviews before driving to reseda and saw that he already had a poor rating... regardless I gave Shawn a chance but man - what a waste of time and energy with this rude douche. One positive review mentions Shaw is "friendly" and "knowledgeable" ... lol - he is not. Talking on the phone while a customer is viewing a car, and telling the customer they cant test drive the car all while NOT WEARING A MASK is not friendly.
