Worst car buying experience ever!…read more Bored with my previous vehicle, I decided to pull into RTG to see if there was a candidate for an even trade. I found a vehicle and worked with the salesman Tino to make the trade. So far so good. The car had a service engine sign on (first warning sign I ignored) but I was assured it just needed an oil change and to come back in a few hours after that got done. So when I went back, the adjoining auto repair shop had finished the oil change but couldn't figure out how to reset the code so the check engine light would go off. (Ignored warning sign #2) they never could figure it out so Tino rode with me to another mechanics shop to see if they could get the light turned off. I mistakenly thought this was a good sign - surely two mechanics looking at the car would clue me in to something horrible brewing under the hood. The second mechanic got the check engine light turned off and off I went in my new to me car. Everything seemed great until about 300 miles later when the car broke down. Took it to a shop I trust and OMG the engine "suffered catastrophic damage" and would have to be replaced!!! I didn't even make it through one tank of gas!!! I made some serious car buying errors because I was impatient and careless BUT I can't help but feel that I got swindled. I don't know if Tino knew about the car's issues for sure. My mechanic told me the engine was in pretty bad shape before the piston hit the valve and destroyed the engine. If you're looking for a new car - just keep looking somewhere else.

So, when I discovered that Crave had a Bugatti Veyron in its showroom I had to visit during my recent visit to Houston. Forget what the car can do. Well, a brief description may be in order. Two V8's bolted together to produce a W16 engine. If that wasn't enough add in four turbos and ten radiators. A special key will actually allow you on the most special road in the world to max the car at near as makes no difference 270 MPH. This car is why I drove 60 miles out of my way; to see a Bugatti in person. Thing is though, the staff at Crave was interested in my story. I called ahead to ask if the car was still on the showroom floor and they invited me to visit despite knowing I wasn't able to afford the 1.3 million dollar asking price. Customer service I'm happy to say was stellar with every staffer treating me with respect and appreciated me visiting for the sake of curiosity. They had other stellar rides as well: Ferrari Enzo, F50, and fly yellow 330 McLaren Mercedes SLR's X 3 Saleen S7 Lamborghini Murcielago and Diablo Roadster 1968 Shelby Mustang The car that actually stole my heart was a Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Speciale. One of the cheapest cars in the showroom; the curves and Italian pedigree almost moved me to sell a few acres on the ranch and buy a car that would leave me in a cloud of steam on some highway between Austin and Houston. This dealership is a classy place from my first contact to the visit even though the wife would KILL ME if I spent more than 20K on a car. They don't report to the agencies, so they don't help your credit either. They also do not make sure a car is mechanically sound before selling it. You should take the car to an offsite mechanic before you buy from this lot. I didn't and I hope you learn from my mistake. Buyer beware. The car had an oil leak that they fixed before I took possession. I had to take the car back 3 more times for the oil leak because their mechanic could not properly replace a valve cover gasket. The oil leaked on the alternator causing it to malfunction. They argued that they shouldn't have to replace the alternator although in the end, they did. The belt was old and worn, but as that is not part of the motor, they refused to replace it under warranty less than a week after I took possession. I had to pay another shop to replace it. The tires looked good, but they had been sitting for a while so started splitting. I had to replace all 4 tires shortly after taking possession. The tire shop said the tires were dated 2011. The brakes started making noise a couple of months after I took possession. Turns out the car needed tie rods, hub bearings, brakes and rotors. The lot said that the brakes were new on the car. If you buy a car from this place, you need to be prepared to put a lot of money into getting it roadworthy and safe shortly after you take possession.

Both Francis the car salesmen and Jimmy the manager told they would REPLACE the dash. They glued a cover on my car in the wrong color then screwed two screws in the side of my vehicle dash to "hold it " in place. Against my better judgment, I gave John another chance after a bad experience 12 years ago. Big mistake. He hasn't changed one bit, and I've learned my lesson. I reached out because his shop is only half a mile from my work and I needed a wrap removed quickly. I already had a $700 quote from another trusted wrap shop I've used for years, but they were 10 days out. John quoted me $110/hr and said it would take a couple of hours, maybe a few at most, after I sent photos and dropped off the car. Four hours later, I called for an update. His response? "Man, the fing wrap is a fing piece of s***. Whoever put this fing s on there are f***ing morons." I calmly asked him not to curse at me again. He stopped for the moment and said he had four guys working on it and they were only halfway done. When I came to check, the car looked half-finished -- over-promised and under-delivered. The next day, after another seven hours (and zero updates unless I called), the wrap was finally removed. The invoice? $980, more than double his "few hours" estimate of around $440. When I expressed disappointment, he didn't apologize -- just cursed more and blamed the "s*** wrap company" I used. We settled on $900, and he said a detailer would clean it that afternoon for a small extra fee. Three hours later, still no response to my texts, so I called and was told the detailer had just started. The detailer, who was actually very professional, later told me it would be $700 to clean off all the leftover adhesive. So John's original $440 estimate had now ballooned to $1,600. When I confronted John, he initially said he'd "eat the cost" since he misquoted me -- which I thought was fair. I picked up the car around 9pm, still covered in glue, and the detailer came back the next morning. Three hours into the job, the cleaner texted me again saying John told him I was paying. When I called John to clarify, he exploded -- yelling and swearing nonstop, throwing around "motherf***ers" and blaming me for everything. When I told him to stop speaking to me that way or I'd hang up, he just kept going. I hung up, and he then texted me more profanity-filled messages. The cleaner, trying to stay professional, agreed to finish for $400. I asked John again to pay what he said he would, and he refused. In the end, I paid the cleaner myself. When the car was finally done, he showed me nine deep gouges in the paint, clearly from the wrap removal. I got the car brand new from the dealership and wrapped it immediately, so the damage happened during removal -- either from improper tools or carelessness. This was, without exaggeration, one of the worst customer service experiences of my life. I've never had a business owner scream, curse, and belittle me repeatedly over the phone and through text. Between the unprofessional communication, broken promises, inflated costs, and damage to my car, I can confidently say I would never recommend this company to anyone who values honesty, respect, or professionalism. If you like being cursed at and overcharged -- Wrapstars is for you. For everyone else, do yourself a favor and stay far, far away.
