It's certainly a league above the competitor auto parts stores on 4th Street (of which there are several!) It's the furthest from my house, but I'm not even tempted to stop at one of the others on the way. Recently, I need a car battery - like asap - and I called at 7:30pm and spoke to an excellent customer service representative named Jacob. He said they closed at 9, but they had my battery in stock and if I could head over in time, he would be happy to install it. It was dark and cold - Albuquerque in January - so I asked if he'd prefer I come in the next day when it was light. He said he wasn't working the next day and wasn't sure if anyone who was could do a battery install. It was so nice of him to let me know that! So I drove over and he had my old battery out and my new one in, lickity-split! (And I have a funny Italian car with odd size bolts, too.) Overall, it was such a positive experience, I would always go back there for car needs in the future. They are also a UPS drop point, and I have taken packages there, which has been convenient, as they have longer hours than the official UPS stores.

I was told by the local transmission shop that my vehicle needed the transmission replaced. The…read moretransmission shop quoted me somewhere between $1,800 and $2,500 just for the replacement, not including labor! I could not afford that so I needed to locate a good, used transmission that was also affordable. Southwest Auto Recyclers were able to provide me one at GREAT value for only $650. Their mechanic, Mark, even checked out my car first to give me a second opinion and make sure that I even needed it replaced. The manager, Joe, was super professional and very helpful. He made sure to run my VIN number against the replacement to make sure that it would fit for my specific vehicle. He was very transparent about everything and gave me the full run-down on where the donor vehicle came from and why it was brought to the shop in the first place. He also informed me of all the different tests they had run on the vehicle and about the condition of the transmission and other parts. While the mechanic, Mark, will begin the transmission replacement tomorrow, and I haven't yet received the finished service, I am quite confident that I am in good hands. Joe offers a 90-day warranty on all parts, and that made me feel that he really stands behind his products. I look forward to the finished product and I would DEFINITELY recommend this salvage/recycling yard to anyone looking for affordable, yet quality parts, and excellent customer service.
